[8.0] "His ceiling was so high, I was so into his technical ability during his Pure reign. Averages a weighted 6.96/10 on his last 100 singles matches, which should tell you he's no slouch. I think his crime was being the victim of poor booking. Do I think the story they told with him and Bryan Danielson at the end was fine? Pretty much, yeah. I see very few people agree. Meanwhile, Yuta's taken a few of Bryan's lines and moves and gets cheap heat for them every time. Somebody at All Out 2026 had a sign that said "I just hope that Wheeler Yuta is ok." Me too, guy, me too. Could've been TNT, National Champion, maybe International or Continental. Not likely now, but he's got more career ahead of him than behind him, and I'd love to be proven wrong. 8/10."

He is good at the technical stuff, see his Pure contests. And low blows afterwards. He was also excellent in the 2025 Blood & Guts. Easy to beat up on, probably cos he's such a non entity."

His wrestling ability is still fine when he's given the chance, I suppose, but nowadays, at least to me and my friends, Yuta is nothing more than a guy to laugh at. Shame considering all of that stellar work and character growth years past."
Captain Cheese wrote on 20.07.2026:
[5.0] "He's fine, at one point they had something with him at the beginning of the Death Riders (or whatever their name was at the moment) but the time for Yuta to be a Mikey Whipwreck type is long gone. Mox needs to get rid of Garcia, Yuta, and Claudio for the Death Riders to feel like the badasses they present themselves as."

He doesn't fit at All in the roster of 2026 AEW."
kacy noah wrote on 19.03.2026:
[5.0] "It's cool that he's one of the only guys in AEW that gets real heel heat, but I don't think there's much to him outside of that. He's fine as a technical wrestler, but exists within a crowded niche where he hasn't done much to pop out."
[2.0] "2026 and he's still the worst part about the death riders. He can have good matches at times but is overall just a huge charisma vaccum and he cannot cut a promo dude. It's quite hard to take him seriously at all these days especially since he's always the one taking each and every pinfall loss for the death riders along Daniel Garcia. What I do like is that it's sort of in a way played into his role, but he's still poor."
GoldLiger wrote on 15.02.2026:
[9.0] "Yuta was good on the indies, alright in his Best Friends & BCC runs (barring that one excellent match vs Mox), but in the Death Riders? Death Riders Yuta is phenomenal. One of the best, most natural heels in wrestling today. Just a little weasel bastard, willing to do anything and antagonize anybody even though he can't cash any of the checks he's writing to the point where even the other Death Riders have to cover for his bullshit. He's finally found a niche that works for him, and he's incredible at it. He's got a long career ahead of him and if he keeps up what he's been doing he could be something amazing."

[7.0] "More of a 7.5 than a 7, there's all the possibility he becomes an 8 or higher in the future. Yuta can be summed up in two words, "solid" & "bland". He's a good in ring worker, his mic skills aren't terrible but his look isn't great, especially when he grew his hair and beard out and just looked homeless, and he is just generally not that interesting to watch. He feels replaceable wherever he is, but not someone you'd go out of your way to replace at the same time. DR/BCC he hasn't made himself a draw, and I feel like he could be replaced by alot of people and the factions would be no worse off for it. I've never watched a Yuta match snd been blown away or disappointed, and I've never seen him on a card and been particularly excited for that match. He's an above average worker, and he will always get a chance as part of a stable at a major promotion, but I'm not sure I ever see him as even a mid-card singles star. He's a bit like Sami Zayn without the charisma or explosiveness. Hope he takes a step up in the future, he's definitely got the potential, but even if he doesn't he will continue to have a solid career making up the numbers and taking the pins in a fairly major faction. I kinda wish he had gone off on his own as an underdog babyface when the BCC turned into the DR, I think he had a better story trying to live up to Danielson's legacy as a protege figure than he did taking pins for Mox."
Keithnelson18 wrote on 23.01.2026:
[2.0] "Can we give up on the Wheeler Yuta experiment? He's bland as shit and can't cut a good promo to save his life. Yuta has no character or personality to connect or have fans be invested in him. He's just generic and a waste. He's easily the worst and missed casted wrestler in the Death Riders, he just doesn't fit in that faction at all. He also has this thing where whenever he shows up, the mood goes from good to immediate sadness."
ReiEscobar wrote on 17.01.2026:
[7.0] "The job Wheeler Yuta needs to do at the Death Riders, only him is able to do in such high level. Not a single one in that roster would be able to be that weak link hated guy like he is. He knows what he need to do and does it perfectly, but well, whoever saw him at the indies or even his ROH times as Pure Champ, he quite deserve a higher push already. He might had become pretty underrated already for the ones that don't know his past much well."
Brye wrote on 19.12.2025:

Sleezy C wrote on 03.12.2025:
[5.0] "Wheeler Yuta is a very solidly skilled wrestler who can cut a good promo and tell a nice story on his own. What's currently holding him back is the Death Riders, which he has kind of become the punching bag for, and with Garcia in the picture, his current character is stagnating. His earlier BCC time's were incredibly more interesting to watch, especially the storyline breakup with Orange Cassidy. This man can Excell as a singles star, he just needs to either break away from Jon Moxley's side should the Death Riders split, or leave all together to go it alone."
DyingOfTheLight wrote on 10.11.2025:
[8.0] "Yuta came into AEW as a very solid technical wrestler, who really needed to work on his character. That didn't really happen until 2024 when he turned on Bryan Danielson as Blackpool Combat Club morphed into the Death Riders. Since then, Yuta has continued to improve his in-ring skills and gets nuclear heat in every single area he steps into. Sky could be the limit for Yuta at this point, as he's not even 30 yet."
TripleCrown wrote on 28.09.2025:
[3.0] "I really struggle to see what other people see in this guy. He's not very good in-ring and he doesn't have a good, recognisable look about him. Whenever I've seen him in the Blackpool Combat Club or Death Riders, he just seems kind of there. Everybody else looks the part, but this guy just looks like a fan who works a 9-5. Do not understand the appeal, and I highly doubt he'll become a big name in professional wrestling. Permanent midcarder."
Billaowski wrote on 04.09.2025:
[2.0] "Wasn't good in RoH and hasn't been good in AEW, Feels woefully out of place in any segment he's in because he looks like he's been plucked from the crowd or one of the Death Riders brought their son to work. His mic skills are non existent and it's not like he is some maverick inside the ropes either of which AEW has an embarrassment of riches. He's in a cadre of people like Garcia et al where I just cannot for the life of me see what the movers and shakers at AEW seem to see and he's fortunate to have gotten what he has done."

[3.0] "He's a decent wrestler but his attempts to look and act tough are hilarious and ridiculous. He can't cut a promo and he's about as threatening as a box of kittens and has the physique of one too. I'm sure he's a nice guy outside of wrestling but he's grossly out of place in the last two factions he's been part of. He works best as a slimy manager type who interferes. Wrestling requires suspension of disbelief and there's times I can't do it. Yuta trying to be big, tough, and scary doesn't work. I suppose that could be intentional for heel heat and if so, good on him for working me."

Because there is something missing that keeps the glass ceiling above him and his weird hentai protagonist hair isn't the slight reboot he needed..."

He's young so there's always room for improvement but, I just can't take him seriously as a wrestler. The Death Riders stuff has been no help as he has gotten literal go away hit with his constant interferences in Main Event matches. You already have a Green, Young technician with Garcia who is better than him. Wheeler sucks, that's all I can say dor now"
KyleEnjoysWrestling wrote on 12.05.2025:
[5.0] "I almost feel bad for Wheeler. No, he's certainly not my favorite, but he's someone who was pushed down our throats to an annoying degree, which resulted in fans turning against him. It didn't feel like he gained his spot naturally. But he was someone who Tony liked, so he saw a push before fans wanted to naturally give it to him. I'm not sure what it will take for him to win fans over at this point. I can't give him anything above a middle-of-the-road grade, as I do find him mostly annoying when I see him show up. But I also don't want to rate him lower, as he's not bad in the ring & might be able to make something of himself if he finds his own voice someday."

[9.0] "Wheeler Yuta is a decent technical wrestler and a solid hand for a heel stable. He's very fluid and safe to work with, and he has a good bit of agility and a versatile movepool. I don't understand why people feel he's boring other than his promos not being incredibly strong, but in Death Riders he doesn't have to be a great talker on his own. He has heel psychology down well and he's constantly ruining matches via interference, making him a heat magnet. The crowd loves to boo him when he enters the ring. I personally like his look but agree that he could have a better physique. He's just barely more intimidating looking than Spike Dudley."
ashildr bay wrote on 06.04.2025:
[4.0] "As a wrestler he clearly has technical ability and I appreciate that, but I don't believe him on the mic. AEW has been putting him into more and more prominent positions and it's duller each week. I'm not a fan of the way he's been used and his character lost the potential he had when he turned on Bryan despite seemingly being so distraught by the rest of the BCC. I was excited for what could happen if he developed any complexity and then he immediately morphed into another generic heel. It's tiresome to see him in the position he has."

BUT i am not asking for him to be booked like a megastar infact the role he has right now in AEW is way too high up on the card for someone who has no personality or character like YUTA, I think the angle with him and Bryan could of been good because he looked so genuinely hurt by the betrayal of bryan by the BCC but instead he is just generic heel #9. keep him on ROH and stop tryna make him a terrifying heel."

Thus produces great match when give the time too while have gone back and seen some of his earlier work. The first time is saw as it happenedd was the final of the Tournament for tomorrow's match of his partner. at the time . and he's has been great since he has you have match of the year like he has 100%100 me in his a low end 100/100 but still ophe t what od you mean i low end is some was as low and say a 90% of would argue, but any lower of that lower than that i would raise an eye.."

Already incredible with a very unique style before AEW, he first served as a jobber while finding the right story to launch him. The BCC was this good story, it was perfect to have a young wrestler alongside a legend of the discipline to raise him, giving more than that has always served the narrative and he has always played wonderfully the young wrestler who learns from the other 3 ultra rough guys. He is very good, he is credible, he is promised much more, he has obtained charisma, he is excellent."

He is a perfectly fine wrestler but that doesn't do much in a stocked roster. He is just a charisma black hole. I suspect he will be knocking about ROH within 2 months of the BCC breaking up."

A very capable technician and ring performer, but I honestly could not tell you much about his character besides that he's an underdog with a chip on his shoulder. It might have to do with his very much-to-be-desired promo ability, but I've been imagining the possibilities involved with a serious singles run away from the BCC, but that'd be a sure test of his ceiling, at least in AEW."

He's not even in his prime yet and he wouldn't be in the BCC if they didn't think he has a lot of potential and if he's not a hard worker. The opinions of Claudio, Mox, Bryan, and Regal mean a lot more than random fans who have never stepped foot in a ring. And he's also not problematic, unlike a lot of young guys these fans want to see pushed."
