Andrade El Idolo

[10.0] "[04.02.2026] One of the most talented in-ring performers I have ever seen but he seems to struggle with his character work and getting over, at least in American promotions. Amazing start to his second AEW run; it looks like he could finally be starting to get over, so I hope he can kick on and fulfill his potential. If I remember, I will change this [from an 8/10] to a 10/10 if he can make this second run a success. [EDIT 22.09.2026]: Yeah."

[9.0] "Andrade's last 100 singles matches (on a weighted system) average 7.3/10 - and that says a good deal about his in ring ability. I think, however, he excels in the other aspects of his performance to a degree that he exceeds an 8 and makes it up to a 9. Something to be said about his character in that one tag match when Cody's weight belt careened back to the ring from the audience, Andrade grabbed it and threw it under the ring. Wish I remembered the look on his face, but I don't remember it causing a disturbance to the match beyond that moment. I'd love to see more of him in an even higher profile, he's just fun to have around."

[6.0] "He didn't really stand out enough to warrant a major push. In NXT? Very good. His first main roster run? Good. Leaving for AEW worked out well for him. Then came the return to WWE and winning the Speed title--of all the titles, *that's* the one they gave him. He contended for the US title, had a best-of-seven series with Carmelo Hayes, and a match at WrestleMania alongside Rey Mysterio. Then came the controversy surrounding his departure from WWE. What was it about? He joined AEW while still under a non-compete clause, causing an uproar in both locker rooms. AEW decided to take him off TV for a while after that to avoid further issues. I wasn't particularly fond of him, but he's not bad."

[10.0] "I don't wanna call him most improved in 2026 because he's always been an incredible worker, but this real latino man "how you know" gimmick just blew the roof off the potential he has. He had always presented in a similar fashion no matter where he was or what he was doing, the entrance with the mask and having Selina by his side was good, his first run in AEW was lackluster to say the least, and going back to WWE did him no favors. Now that he's become a babyface, he has turned into one of the hottest acts on the roster (no pun intended)."

[9.0] "Very skilled wrestler with both strength and high-flying abilities, and also great look. Had trouble to find his place in American companies, but finally on his second AEW stint found his mojo. Although his English promos aren't what I personally enjoy, they seem to work great."

[10.0] "Andrade seriously has one of the most impressive physics I've ever seen, and his ambition in 2026 should absolutely be studied. Both him and Tony Khan must be over the moon with how well this second acquisition has worked and it proves a wrestling star can leave WWE and do much better somewhere else. Not just with the wrestling but also collecting a growing audience. His whole act since returning has been a complete wrestling experience from a new catchphrase, crowd interaction and even better wrestling than before. I NOW see him for the first time as world champion material, and he has EARNED it every step of the way and has overcome every possible obstacle in or outside the ring."

[9.0] "If you asked me this a year ago, I'd have probably given him a 7ish or so. But holy hell, this guy is on the run of a lifetime! His charisma is shining through the most it ever has and he's on one of the best runs of his life in the ring as well. I was so checked out on Andrade for years but he clearly has some renewed energy and is getting better booking as well."

[9.0] "His second AEW run has been so good, probably helps not being stuck with the likes of Matt Hardy this time around. Can't wait to see what he does with the National title to elevate it even further than Dunkzilla did, hopefully on his way to a World Title run. How you know?"

[9.0] "Really rather confused at the way WWE booked him throughout his tenures there. An 8-match US Title reign & the Speed belt, really? His matches always have surprising, fun new moves in them & the way he transitions between spots is fantastic. He's so good he managed to get out of the Don Callis Family vortex and is currently doing fantastic stuff with AEW. Barring any acts of god, he could very well become one of the GOATs with time."

[8.0] "8.4 - with a rocket as i think this second go round with aew is going to be much more successful than the first. he can do virtually anything in the ring. he looks freaking amazing. tons of charisma. crowd loves him. i think he is hitting his prime right now - not just physically but maturity wise as well. a total package who is hopefully putting it all together. perhaps the most attractive person in all of wrestling?"

[9.0] "2026 has been Andrade's year, he has connected with the audience in AEW much better during his current run there and has been putting on very good matches. He has also extended out to become a good competitor in NJPW as well. It's great that they really let him be himself because he is charismatic and his character work has been excellent"

[9.0] "There's no denying that Andrade is a talented performer and is capable of producing great matches, most notably his match at NXT TakeOver in 2018. However, he doesn't really stand out to me as a performer, and nothing about him screams main eventer. Despite that, he is a solid upper-mid-carder who can put on good matches with almost anyone. (Edit 6/16/2026) After seeing his recent work in AEW, I am raising Andrade to a 9/10, as while I still don't see him as a world champion, he is a great wrestler who has a defined character."

[9.0] "In 2026 this guy has been red HOT! Straight banger after banger after banger! His character and promos can use work but outside of that he definitely has a case for being the best wrestler this year. Should stay in AEW as they are using him properly, future AEW world champ at this rate. In his past, (NXT, WWE) despite not being used as well as he is now, he still put on some of the greatest matches of all time, dude has it."

[10.0] "In my opinion, Andrade has been the wrestler of the year so far. All they had to do was let him be himself. He's become incredibly charismatic and in the words of Sheamus, he's been having Banger, after Banger, after Banger these days.But that shouldn't be suprising. He's always been good, and apart from his run in Black and Gold he wasn't booked properly by any American promotion up until now. I absolutely love his whole selfie gimmick as it's allowed him to connect with the crowd. Without a doubt the best part of AEW in 2025 (imo) and I really hope he eventually gets a run with the AEW world title. He's deserving of it."

[9.0] "Bro I love Andrade. he's such an amazing wrestler and is pretty good with promos. During his first run, he had great matches in NXT but once he got called up it went downhill. His first run with AEW was fine, had some good matches but lacked good storylines. He returned to WWE again and it was probably worse, the highlights were some tag matches and his series with Carmelo Hayes. His 2nd run in AEW has been tremendous, he's been having banger after banger. His shtick with taking pictures with girls in the crowd is aura-framing and funny as shit."

[10.0] "We are almost halfway through 2026 and Andrade might be the best wrestler in the world. He is absolutely killing it currently and his consistency and range is simply phenomenal. Go watch any of his singles work from the last year and you will see why Andrade is just an incredible worker."

[5.0] "Sucks I have to do this for Andrade, but I never got the hype from him at all. At best, he's a overbooked wrestler, who's main gimmick is that he is a womanizer, and that one fucking meme that doesn't make sense. I understand that he comes from a long line of wrestlers, but I don't get him at all. His promo's feel lackluster, his personality feels bland at best, and sucks the life out of everything at worst. He never had a peak for me, just always mediocre at best. Call me a new-gen, call me a guy who never watched when he was good, but from what I see now, He is sub-par."

[10.0] "I knew him going to arena mexico when he was la sombra, and he always has been an amazing talent, but right now I feel like he is in his prime, amazing level of character work, charisma and in ring talent."

[5.0] "He's not the best luchador, let alone the most responsible worker. I had no issues with him when he was La Sombra, and he did quite well in NXT, but what happened next is simply appalling. This guy has been working in American television for a long time, but he still can't learn English. His latest firing from WWE and subsequent problems with AEW are incredibly funny. And it would seem he's now back and starting to try, but I don't really understand the point of him being in the Callis family. I'd like to see him lead La Facción Ingobernable. That would create a charismatic group resembling a crime syndicate, and it would also give four other wrestlers some screen time (bringing Guevara and the talented Rush back to TV). Otherwise, flirting with models won't lead to anything good."

[8.0] "What is there not to love about Andrade? He's a fantastic wrestler, has a great look, and even with limited english skills he's still a pretty okay promo. His workrate is also crazy right now. He's put on some bangers matches in various promotions around the world. He's technical, strong, athletic, and willing to take bumps, and he's got plenty of charisma as well."

[9.0] "Just when I am getting close to finish my fucking list of ranked wrestlers, AEW choose that it would be a great moment to accounce twelve more wrestlers, fuck that company man lmao. Anyways, talking about the wrestler Andrade, everyone knows pretty well the current Mascara Dorada, right? Imagine if he was literally two times better than what he already is. No jokes, that is exactly what La Sombra was at his prime. Someone that move like gravity wasn't real and really pissed me off at how smart he was at every detail related to professional wrestling. His match against Atlantis is until that point the greatest lucha libre match I ever saw in my entire life, and that was the moment that Andrade was born. An guy that made history at NXT, specially with legendary bouts facing Gargano. Not gonna lie, that decade wasn't that easy for him, but some shit he did like the pairing with Rey Fenix and some early matches that year facing and beating Swerve and Omega raised up the hype for him. Great, great pro wrestler."

[5.0] "A very good in-ring wrestler, but definitely overrated. I don't think his wrestling is good enough nor his charisma magnetic enough to warrant the problems he seemingly brings along to every subsequent organization he goes to."

[6.0] "Around this time last year I have rated Andrade El Idolo a seven but since then I think I would adjust it to a six. This man was part of what I believe the greatest WWE match ever against Gargano but I only rate his current form"

[6.0] "I really want to give him a 9/10 and praise him for his inring talent and prowess, cause lets be honest, if you didn't know anything about him and purely judged him just based on inring talents alone he would probably be one of the highest rated wrestlers on this site which is fair , some use the site as purely that and I mean my guy can go and has bangers. But then why isn't he one of the highest rated wrestlers on here? That's where things change drastically. Outside the ring he seems horrible. First wrestler to jump to AEW, back to the other company which may result in me getting trouble so will remain unnamed, and back to AEW again. Why? Cause he can't get over in either and can't accept he is the reason why. A more talented Jack Perry basically. Whine online about all your own faults and wrestle sometimes. I see alot more debuts / redebuts in mans future."

[8.0] "I have a problem with Andrade. On one hand, he knows how to build hype around his character, but on the other, it ends in disappointment every single time. That's how it was in WWE, that's how it was in AEW, and now history is repeating itself in WWE again"

[8.0] "Andrade looks like a million dollars. He has a great physique. He is a solid in ring worker. And he can talk great and give a convincing promo as long as he's speaking in Spanish. The problem with him is while he dresses the part and can work his ass off in the ring, he doesn't have the personality in his character or his wrestling to go along with it, and he never translated well with the American audience.because of it. In Mexico though, it's a totally different story, the guy is a huge star, and that's really where he shines, and where he feels most comfortable in his own skin working at the end of the day."

[3.0] "I don't know what everyone sees in him. He doesn't have a stable enough character to even keep his job. Probably the most overrated wrestlers in modern history. However, the only thing he can do is pull off a good match, which is good enough for modern wwe. He also had a hilarious Twitter beef with Sammy Guevara which pretty much killed his chances of ever becoming a champion in AEW. I've also heard that the reason he was released was because he had attitude problems backstage so he's also killed chances of coming back to WWE for a third time and coming back to AEW a second times. He needs to stick to Mexico."

[6.0] "Great in the ring, bad at everything else. Lame character, charisma is non-existent, not memorable and fails almost every run he tries. The mask thing is awful since he doesn't even wear one in the ring, so the whole mexican tradition makes no sense here. He's never happy with his work and he's never over, so it's hard to look after him"

[9.0] "yesterday, like most of the people i was reminded how good, how incredible is Andrade, even above his wrestling skills he's got a natural charisma that is not exploited at ALL by the fed. This man can move crowds if booked correctly, give him a manager or something but he needs to get the push he always deserved, i was so fond of him back in his NXT days where he showed what kind of amazing wrestler he always was. Andrade is a gem, he is truly special and hopefully many many people will open their eyes and especially the ones running the fed, and that one day he'll be given that chance to be a megastar just like many before him."

[9.0] "I love Andrade, he's great, but he's don't moving by any side in the WWE. I don't get why WWE don't pay too much attention to wrestlers like Andrade, Santos, Angel etc. I hope they will push him and he will reach some tops"

[6.0] "If I were going off of his CMLL and NXT work, I'd be contemplating a 10. But outside of that, Andrade has had a tough time maintaining momentum. His promo ability has always been a weak point, and while Zelina Vega elevated him with her mic work, he never truly developed his own voice or presence. Once separated from her, his character started to drift. WWE never committed to pushing him past the midcard, but part of that blame falls on him too. He coasted on his in-ring ability while others passed him by in charisma and adaptability. Andrade is a talented worker but weak character work, poor promo development, and inconsistent booking have kept him from becoming the star many thought he'd be. Was very smooth between the ropes, but that skill has declined quicker than expected"

[4.0] "He's a good wrestler obviously but he just hasn't managed to get himself over in any company besides NXT. NXT Andrade had Zelina Vega along him which massively helped as he's obviously a terrible promo. He didn't really work in the first Main Roster run as the only good stuff was the matches with Mysterio. His AEW run sucked on every aspect and his 2nd Main Roster run has been rarely different. Andrade is a good Performer, lacks charisma and Mic Skills which are the keys to success in this business. They should get him a manager ASAP if they want to have any chance at making him work for the crowds"

[6.0] "This is the 2025 rating for Andrade--his skills are steadily declining. Yes, he appears more muscular, but what does that matter? His movements and pacing have slowed, his stamina is deteriorating, and he's declining faster than even Seth Rollins. While Andrade is still a decent wrestler and should be an A-tier performer, he now appears to be B-tier. Given his past peak performances, I'm currently unsatisfied with his current level."

[3.0] "It doesn't matter how good you look... if you fail in every company you step into, I'm not interested in investing in you. Andrade had a decent time in New Japan and a very good time in NXT... but from 2019 until today it's been disappointment after disappointment after disappointment... first it was WWE's fault, then AEW's, then he returned to WWE and I still don't see him progressing even in his English... I understand that in Mexico he's a star, I hope he doesn't lose his contacts in CMLL."

[7.0] "A standout talent in the ring, this wrestler showcases impressive skill and athleticism. However, his current promotional efforts might not be enough to propel him to the next level."

[8.0] "Andrade is a good wrestler with two mixes of styles. He can do his high-flying style, but he can also wrestle rather technically. Rather underrated talent that could have an IT factor, but I do think he needs a mouthpiece like he had back in 2018 since his promos are rather stale."

[8.0] "Andrade is incredible in the ring, has a 10/10 look, and certainly has a mystique about him that is captivating... but his inability to let his charisma translate into a character, and his absolutely terrible ability on the mic (in spanish or in english) is what keeps him at an 8. Unfortunately Andrade hasn't, for a variety of reasons, had a great run outside of NXT since his days in Mexico. He's also his own worst enemy with seemingly having terrible timing and issues in almost every company he's been in, but at the same time, he's an undeniably good in-ring talent."

[8.0] "Andrade is quite the wrestler. Very skilled between the ropes, and a great presence. Maybe he lacks a little on the mic, but that's not really a big detriment to him. A solid worker."

[8.0] "Amazing in ring worker, one of the best in WWE currently. WWE should pair him back with Zelina Vega , he truly shines with her as his manager. His promo and character work needs improving but overall a great mid card wrestler."

[6.0] "Great talent but loses points for constantly whining. I gave him the benefit of the doubt in AEW but now that he's back in WWE he's doing nearly the same thing. He even went back to social media to complain about it. At some point one has to do some introspection and realize they're the problem."

[9.0] "Amazing worker, the best TV wrestler in the world today. He's carrying the midcard on SmackDown and should probably get a push in the main event scene next year."

[9.0] "An exciting hybrid wrestler who uses lucha libre style along with some powerhouse and high flying moves. His charisma is fantastic and has a great and charming look. His match catalogue is impressive; Bryan Danielson, PAC, Rey Mysterio, Johnny Gargano, all amazing bangers that will be long remembered. He's on the way to being a top star for sure."

[8.0] "I had a lot of trouble with Andrade during his first run in WWE. I recognized his talent, but his character was annoying and boring, and was only saved by Zelina Vega, who did an exceptional job as manager. His return and improvement have been stunning, and he can now express himself to the full extent of his talent. He's gained in charisma and his speed, agility and the impact he puts into his original moveset make him a pleasure to watch in the ring, and I really hope to see him higher up on the card and away from all those long, déjà-vu Latino wars. It would be nice to see him with a solo belt, even if it's a secondary title to start with."

[8.0] "An amazing pro wrestler that can't seem to be booked well by pro-wrestling companies. Andrade has put on amazing matches everywhere he's at but hasn't been pushed passed the lower mid-card or even the pre-show of most shows. I really enjoy his matches but he desperately needs to be booked better."

[10.0] "One of the most under - appreciated wrestlers in the game today. I've always liked Andrade since I was introduced to him in NXT. His matches are always must - see and his in - ring ability is special. I really hope in his 2nd Run with WWE he can be treated much better on the Main Roster than his last run with the company. I also thought his AEW was lackluster but I did enjoy plenty of the matches he put on in that company. He has World Championship potential in WWE it just all depends if they can trust him. His booking in both WWE & AEW were inconsistent and was always start & stop pushes which led to frustration from fans and Andrade himself. Currently he's undefeated in singles action this year since returning, and is the current WWE Speed Champion which I ain't pleased about but he's only thirty four years of age and I really hope he can be a main event or upper mid - card close to main event type of guy and I hope he gets a run with the World Championship in the near future."

[2.0] "I don't get what people see in him. He just cut a promo on SmackDown, and it was horrible. He has a terrible, terrible theme (to be fair, almost every wrestler has a terrible theme). His in-ring skills are also terrible. No way he's Money In The Bank worthy. He doesn't deserve the hype that he gets. 2/10"

[9.0] "Although he hasnt done much recently, I believe his WWE push is just starting. He is indisputably a top in-ring competitor, with the only thing holding him back being his mic presence. Pairing him back with Zelina Vega could make him a legitimate contender, rather than making him a mid-carder who gets a world title shot every 2 years. Hes one of the wrestlers who gets me excited when I see his name on a card and makes me immediately interested. Not many other wrestlers have that ability. If writers do whats right, he will be a world champion sooner rather than later."

[9.0] "Andrade is easily top 10, if not top 5 in-ring talent in AEW. He has fantastic charisma and looks like a megastar. His presence is scintillating and his matches are always great. A guy AEW should really invest in if he can smooth over his backstage blemishes. 1 point off for decidedly average promo ability, and its insane how good he is on the mic for an ESL talent Update: back in WWE, still agree on everything I said. Hopefully they can truly do him justice."
