[3.0] "This event gets just a touch more hate than maybe it deserves. It is no doubt ONE of the worst shows in company history. But to call it definitely THE worst like some say...? I probably wouldn't go that far. I'd probably take this show over Wrestlemania 2, King of the Ring '95, Over the Limit '11, and maybe a small few more. A bottom 5 show in company history for sure, though. The opening tag match really helps, even if it was miserably bloated. Maybe I give this card a bit of a pass because no one EXPECTED it to be good. Sure, maybe it was worse than expected, but only two matches were announced prior to the event happening. So it isn't like you got a stacked card on paper that dropped the ball like some other events. You KNOW this is bad going into it, so with that mentality, it maybe is a tiny bit better. Anyway, I'm certainly not defending December to Dismember, as it is an AWFUL show. But it is an easy target even though there are some other shows just as bad that happened to mask it better."

[2.0] "Aggressively boring show, opener is easily the best match with decent chemistry between the lads but even they can't sustain a ridiculous 20 odd minute match length and it's bogged down with dull heat. I have almost nothing to say about the next 4 matches on the card, some of it was awful but mostly it's so dull. There's nothing extreme and nothing fun, the crowd is desperately trying to enjoy themselves throughout and they do liven the show up slightly and highlight the occasional cool spot here and there but that's the best thing I can say about the middle section of this whole show. The main event has some fun stuff here and there but they succeed in pissing off the crowd and ruin the match by kicking out everyone who but Lashley and Show and it's so obvious what's gonna happen it kills the tension. Worst WWE event I've sat through to date."

[1.0] "At first I thought that maybe ECW marks were overexaggerating as it was not enough hardcore or whatever, but no. That show was awful and not only from the slap in the face of the ECW audience perspective, but also matches where horrendous. The Hardys vs MNM was the only bright spot here, but still it was too long and the structure was weird. Then the "actual show" happened. Striker vs Mahoney had Matt trying to carry it, but Balls was always an awful wrestler, Burke & Terkay vs The FBI had a silent crowd and Elijah was the only guy who looked decent there, Daivari vs Dreamer once again showed that the ECW originals can't have a normal wrestling match and also Shawn wasn't the Gotch of our generation to carry it and the Mixed Tag was one of the worst things I've seen all year with Kelly Kelly's horrible work and Ariel's unbearable screaming. And then the main event was the cherry on top with a ridiculous structure, a couple of botches and the silly choice of the final three. The whole show literally felt like a horribly produced indie show with nobodies everywhere and the crowd that just wanted to get out of there."

Promo, heat, match, repeat. I honestly think the show was booked this bad on purpose as a way to kill the ECW brand's reputation"

[0.0] "I can't stress this enough, this is a boring show. It's not a nonsensical farce like Heroes of Wrestling, there literally barely any enjoyment to be aside from the opener. If you're coming in thinking this will be something to riff on... you can sure try, but you're going to have to work for it and at that point is it worth it? This show is so bland. I thought Kevin Thorn was cool as hell and it isn't his fault but that mixed tag is one of the worst matches I've ever seen. Dreamer vs. Davari is the most Sunday Night Heat match of all time.. on a $60 PPV. Balls Mahoney vs. Matt Striker just sucks, people loved Balls cause he brained people and that's what we wanted.. instead he locked in a jujigatame what the hell? The Chamber match is fun except for the fact they eliminated Punk & RVD early and picking Bobby Lashley to win. I love Bobby Lashley but he's the least ECW guy of all time to win the ECW title. A poor show that deserves every bad rating it gets for being boring and basically killing the ECW brand."

[7.0] "Maybe it's my guilty pleasure, but I'd be lying if I said I DON'T like this show. I've watched it a few times and it has a pretty good feeling of nostalgia in Penn. I like the "original" ECW, but I think the fans and Paul Hayman himself gave up on WWE ECW too soon. I think the first year of ECW was really underrated. Like NXT 2.0, they just needed more time and faith from the fans to grow the next generation of the race. It seems to me that if Paul Heyman had not left after this show. Sooner or later, he and Vince began to trust each other more and would come to a compromise. This PPV was a daring experiment that unfortunately failed. But despite this and being the WORST PPV in history, this event holds a special place in my heart."

[2.0] "Going into this show, I thought it couldn't have been AS bad as people were saying, however I admit I was wrong. Admittedly, the opening tag match was pretty damn good, but you can't really go wrong with MNM and the Hardy's. Also none of the wrestlers in this match were even a part of ECW so it didn't really make sense having them on here. Nonetheless, good match. The second match was unremarkable besides the oddly large size of Matt Striker's bulge for some reason, and the fact that his face was on his ass. The next match was pretty forgettable too, besides the muscle buster from Terkay and the "TNA" chants that followed. For some reason, they decided to follow this up by having Daivari beat possibly the most beloved ECW star of all time in Tommy Dreamer via roll-up, and then have Great Khali eat him after the match. Ariel and Thorn vs Knox and Kelly was pretty bad as well, given the fact that two of the people in the match were untrained managers (one was a stripper) and the other two were people nobody gave a shit about. At least Kelly and Melina were hot. The main event Chamber match was a pretty decent idea in theory, however it was awful in execution. To have the two fan-favorites and guys that the crowd actually cares about (CM Punk and RVD) be eliminated first was just an awful move, as the crowd was checked out the rest of the match. Also, having Sabu, a guy that went through hell in the original ECW matches and still finished the matches be knocked out backstage and replaced with HARDCORE HOLLY of all people was beyond stupid. Nobody cared about him or Test and them getting eliminated were just footnotes. The payoff was a still green Bobby Lashley becoming the top dog on ECW, dethroning ECW legend The Big Show in the process. It's no wonder Bobby couldn't really ever get over with the fans in his initial WWE run. Overall this show was a complete waste of time, and I found myself more amused with making fun of Big Show than actually enjoying the action. Take advice from Paul Heyman's reaction at the end, and save yourself 2 and a half hours that could have been spent doing more productive stuff."

[2.0] "Disappointing pay per view. MNM and Hardys was by far the best match on the card. Elimination Chamber match was alright but not as good as past Elimination Chambers. All the other matches were poor to say the least. The mixed tag match was the worst. The booking of this pay per view was even worse than the matches however. Balls Mahoney being the only ECW original to go over during the night was a mistake. Elimination Chamber match needed RVD or Punk to win and Daivari should not have defeated Dreamer. When you have a show under the Extreme Championship Wrestling brand more than one match should be extreme. Badly booked and disappointing matches outside of the opener ruined this pay per view and prevented the ECW brand from gaining any momentum."

[5.0] "It's time to give off a very unpopular opinion. This show isn't as bad as many people has said. As an ECW show, it's fucking awful. But as a mid level WWE PPV from 2006, it could've been worse. A pretty good opener and a pretty decent Chamber main event is the delicious bread in between a pretty mediocre sandwich of on-the-fly matches with no build-up. It's not at all good, but to call it one of the worst things ever made would be a lie in my opinion."

[4.0] "The badness of this show has been rather exaggerated in my opinion. All of the filler undercard matches together combine to make less than 30 minutes and the show itself is barely over 2 hours. Having to get through a bit of nonsense when there's a really good Hardyz/MNM match and an ok chamber main event isn't exactly a great hardship."

[4.0] "perfect example of fans throwing a fit for no good reason. PPV isn't that great but no way should it be in contention for the worst ppv of all time. MNM vs Hardy Boys is a dream match and was great. Many matches were filler with no back story although most B-show ppvs exclusive to one brand are like this. The Elimination chamber was pretty good too although could have been better, you have 6 great wrestlers with a unique twist as having weapons. RVD was the most over seeing him lose relatively early was a mistake. Test looked like a beast in this. I definitely would have subbed Holly with Sabu. I think Lashley winning was the right decision he was young and needed a push, people dislike this ppv because their favourite, the most overrated wrestler I've ever seen, CM Punk didn't win. I feel like the ECW show had potential and it's a shame that the negative reception of this average ppv prevented further ecw exclusive PPVs from occurring."

[1.0] "This event pisses on the legacy of ECW and sparks the beginning of the end of ECW as a brand. The Hardy Boyz vs MNM was a decent opener and was the only match worth watching. Although, it went a bit too long and there were times where things got stale. (***) Balls Mahoney vs Matt Striker is a bad match with the Striker's Rules (Its EC F'n W come on! ) Along with the shots on Matt's ass bringing down the match. (*) Elijah Burke and Sylvester Terkay vs the FBI was a forgettable match and Terkay was terrible in the ring. (DUD) Daivari vs Tommy Dreamer was another forgettable match. (DUD) Ariel and Kevin Thorn vs Kelly Kelly and Mike Knox was terrible all around and had nothing of value. (DUD) The Extreme Elimination Chamber Match is an interesting concept with all competitors bringing in one weapon except only a few were actually used. CM Punk was hot with the crowd and Paul Heyman wanted him to win but Vinnie Mac loves big sweaty man so Bobby Lashley won with little to no reaction from the crowd. The match itself was a forgettable elimination chamber match but it was better than everything else minus the tag match. (**) Pretty awful show and led to the downfall of the ECW brand. The only match worth watching is the opener while everything else ruins ECW."

[0.0] "This show deserves all the hate it gets. The chamber match isn't a terrible match persay but the booking is absolutely awful. The fans clearly wanted to see either RVD and Punk win and were not into Lashley at all. Mixed tag match is awful, but what do you expect when Kelly and Ariel are wrestling. Hardy's/MNM is the best match of the show, but it's far too long for a inconsequential tag match but to be fair they needed it to fill as much time as possible. All the other matches are instantly forgettable, considering this supposed to be an ECW show you would expect some sort of hardcore match, but all we get are boring nothing matches. Awful. Awful. Awful."

[1.0] "One of the worst booked shows WWE ever put on. First off, Paul Heyman heavily campaigned to have CM Punk in the main event. Instead WWE had Punk eliminated 1st, eliminated fan favourite RVD 3rd and fired Heyman. The best match on the night as the Hardyz vs MNM, which had less than a week build. Somehow Balls Mahoney was the ECW original that gets to go over? Then the PPV was just a little over 2 hours. A glorified episode of Smackdown which happened to feature an Elmination Chamber. Imagine shelling out $40-$50 for that back in the day?"

[6.0] "Way too much undeserved hate on this show. Yes, there is a lot of cr@p in the middle, but these matches are really short (and in one there's Kelly, which means it's worth watching). The opener was my favorite tag match from 2006 on before NXT put on those amazing matches. Main event isn't of course the best chamber ever, but it is far to be the worst. Just average. We've seen worse PPVs, this isn't even close to be the worst WWE show ever. This year's Fastlane is one of the worst WWE show ever, not December to Dismember."

[2.0] "This was a gigantic fail and Paul Heyman got fired (I'm not sure it could be his fault). An ECW Event without Extreme Rules with the most ridicolous variant of the Elimination Chamber. Also, terrible booking (but this is common stuff). Well, just look at Lashley with a table in the locked chamber, no sense at all. They ruined the big momentum of CM Punk with an ending nobody cared to see just to push Lashley. The tag team match between Team Extreme and M&M is okay, but nothing really epic as it could have been with these two teams (just think of the spots between Jeff Hardy and Nitro). Also it's really short, just a few minutes over the two hour mark. It goes against everything the fans wanted to see and this is why I give such a low rating. Still we have to admit the hate on Big Show was not justified, he did a great job. Historically bad because there were no more ECW events, not even One Night Stand after this one."

DanTalksRasslin wrote on 13.10.2016:
[3.0] "One of those shows where the reputation precedes it, but while certainly not a good show, I found this to be not as bad as that reputation suggests. The opening tag match between the Hardyz and MNM was quite good, and the Extreme Elimination Chamber, while not all that well booked (popular upstart CM Punk and even more popular ECW Original RVD both being eliminated unceremoniously), did provide some good action. Most of the rest was total filler. The big issues were that the audience was very burned out on the brand-specific PPV events and had already largely soured on the ECW revival concept, and the ECW brand at this time just didn't have the amount of star power necessary to carry a full PPV on its own."
The Chosen One wrote on 01.08.2016:
[3.0] "A pretty bad show but this is defiantly not the worst PPV WWE has had. The opening tag team is decent . All the matches in between are very bad matches. I feel like the elimination chamber match isnt as bad as everyone says it is but it was defiantly the worst chamber match ever. Overall if your going to watch this show just watch the opener and skip everything else."
InactiveGuru wrote on 15.06.2016:
[5.0] "I honestly don't think this is one of the worse WWE PPV's and not even close to being it. It also isn't one of the best. The Elimination CHamber was lacking some star power but the match itself for an Elimination Chamber was good enough. The rest of the card with the exception of the tag match was a bit sub par but all in all it was just below average."
Leone wrote on 18.10.2014:
[1.0] "I'm giving it a 1 because Hardys/MNM was quite a good match. Everything else... The build-up was terrible, it was the 3rd PPV within a month, the card was small, the show was short, the match quality was lacklustre at best, and it contained some of the worst decisions that Vince McMahon ever made. ECW fans were left alienated and soiled, and wrestling fans knew what was best for business, but they didn't get anything they wanted. It's a black spot that will never wash out, and an enormous "screw you" to the paying customers."
