[3.0] "His only 2 6/< singles matches have been with Dean Malenko (an amazing wrestler) & Joey Janela (a really friendly guy), which says a lot. He was a smaller, unfunny comedy guy whom walked so that the smaller, unfunny comedy guys of today could run. He's minimally competent, but so are 99% of professional wrestlers. Much like early TNA Jay Lethal, he did little more than jump around, yuck it up, & be completely impossible to take seriously. I definitely feel that had it not been for this guy, half of the bad comedy stuff being done today wouldn't elicit guffaws of laughter, but rather "what the fuck are you doing? "s, & I hold him in contempt for that. At least he's not a persistent figure in my day to day viewing habits, or anything."

He was always a good fit in the tag team and cruiserweight divisions, and would have benefited from a sustained push. Unfortunately, Brian Christopher and Rikishi's personal issues killed his tag team momentum, and WWE didn't want to give the cruiserweight division any long-term pushes when Scotty would have been a perfect fit"

[6.0] "I have a soft spot for Scotty2Hotty because, when I went to my first live show in Maine, he opened the show in the dark match as the hometown babyface. So Scott Taylor, as he was introduced that night, was the very first person I ever watched wrestle in person. But that personal anecdote aside, Scotty2Hotty played his role well during the Attitude Era. His shining moment came during that well known 10 man tag on Raw. He worked to give some levity to the shows. He might be best known for the Worm. While it was cute the first few times, it quickly became an annoyance to anyone over the age of 10."

[7.0] "I thought that Scotty Too Hotty had great charisma and the fact that he got over both Too Cool and the worm proves how much of a connection he has with the fans. His in ring work was good and he was perfect as a tag team wrestler or in a cruiserweight divison."
jsborts wrote on 29.09.2024:
[3.0] "Look big credit to him for getting over with his gimmick, but this dude is a really shitty wrestler when the bell rings. One of the worst finishers that just buries everyone it goes against, there's just nothing that I can get into with this even though I just appreciate that it must have been a big accomplishment to get this character over. But it sucks. this just isn't the kind of shit i want with my pro wrestling"

"My favorite wrestler growing up. Totally underrated in the ring. A good hand. Look no further than Scottys matches with Dean Malenko to see what he was capable of. Theres a reason he lasted so long in WWE despite his low spot on the card. Too Cool was as over as anyone in 2000. The Worm is iconic. I could go on and on and on about how underrated this man is. He should be held in higher regard and the 5 average is frankly insane for a wrestler of this ability and overness. I only wish he couldve gotten more to work with after 2004 or so when he was basically moved to straight up enhancement talent."

[9.0] "No one who can transform into a deadly worm at the drop of a topless bucket hat ought to be maligned. With his slight build and long, skipping stride, Scotty's ring work was a sight to behold. It's all in the expression. Look up any footage of him calling upon the power of the worm and examine his face as it turns from wide-eyed consternation--does the crowd really want to see such devastation loosed'--to a gleeful fury, like a tranced berserker. Scotty is a master."

[6.0] "I like Scotty, he was a solid in ring worker that was able to remain with the WWE for close to a decade. Most of his success came working as a tag team specialist working with Brian Christopher and Rikishi as apart of Too Cool/Too Much where he twice won the WWE tag team championships. He also had tag teams with Albert and Funaki that only solidified his status as a guy who could work and succeed with just about anyone. He was a solid in-ring worker though I agree with most when they say his finisher was borderline ridiculous and did him no favors. I have alot of respect for Scotty 2 Hotty for his longevity and consistency though he was far from one of my favorites."

[6.0] "You know, if Scotty 2 Hotty didn't hold back, the worm could have killed someone. Extremely dangerous move that puts the burning hammer to shame. Pretty solid cruiser weight, had a competent style, never had much to say on the microphone. In terms of looks, he was pretty thin, but once that Bart Simpson hair came out and he started rocking the sun glasses, Scotty had something. This guy was an excellent show opener that evolved into an underdog of sorts for kids to cheer for. In addition to having good charisma, Scotty was a tag-team specialist first and foremost. Managing to pull off a few wins and even getting the gold, certainly not an easy task given how competitive things were during the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression eras. The dancing and goofiness really deduct a lot of points, yet he was white-hot with the crowds. A 6.7/10 seems fair."
Giantfan1980 wrote on 24.05.2023:
[6.0] "Torn on this one. In someways, Scotty might have been the most talented of the Too Cool trio, but he lacked the size and being the smallest member of Too Cool, he wasn't going over bigger guys realistically. Kinda got penciled in as the comedy relief character of the group with the Worm finisher but ironically, he also got some of the biggest pops from the crowd when he did it! Had great cruiserweight matches with Malenko but got squashed the rest of the time by the "hosses". 5 points for ring work and a bonus star for getting over with the crowds."

[7.0] "I really appreciate this guy's on screen story of scratching his way to the top starting as enhancement talent (mullet n all! ). He went from being a tackling dummy to having a pop the size of The Road Warriors or The Rock. 2 Cool was one of the most over things in wrestling history. Very much so an over achiever and how can you not find value in that? (Check out his matches against Dean Malenko: Smackdown April 25 2000 & Backlash 2000 if you're a hard sell)"

[3.0] "Yeah, I feel so bad for anyone laying on that mat, looking into the lights and waiting what must have seemed like hours, for him to finish his skipping, jumping around and doing the worm, just to be lightly chopped across the general throat area and than pinned by this little guy. It is so embarrassing. I remember my mum (not a fan does not even remotely describe her feelings towards wrestling) walking in as I was watching Bret Hart beating up DDP on Nitro in late 90s and she thought it was very violent. She thought I was watching this violent crap. If she walked on me watching Scotty 2 hotty doing the worm and the other guy just laying there, waiting, she would think that I must be mentally retarded to watch that. That s about the difference between wrestling and sports entertainment. Maybe he is a great guy and a hard worker or whatever, well, good for him, but as a wrestler, not remotely believable in any winning scenario and not entertaining- for me, although I understand some people, especially little kids, would be entertained by him."

Though he was purely amazing to watch in the ring and he just made wrestling seem more fun than anything else , loved him to bits as a kid."
