[6.0] "This guy's ceiling is low, but he's managed to create a somewhat compelling personality with good promo skills to balance for the lack of wrestling ability. He would be best suited for car crashes or tag team bouts in the midcard, where the action speaks for itself and guys with energy and intensity can let loose. But he's booked in main events and angles, creating drab and soulless content. For the past decade, he consistently fails to deliver in the big matches. Personally speaking, does this guy ever smile? Why would I support a constantly angry dude that wants to always showcase a tough guy persona? Why care if some guy makes him angry? He's angry all the time! There's no difference! And it's not like he represents some moral decency or virtuous attributes. He can't play the underdog card anymore, because he's a regular championship contender automatically everywhere he sets his foot in. So this all begs the question: what are we left with? And the answer for me is clear. EDIT: I'm coming back to this in 2025. I feel like he's improved and has managed to step into the big shoes of a main event player. Yeah he still looks like a goofball from time to time, but he puts on great matches constantly now. Gotta hand it to him!"
[10.0] "One of the best and most dependable wrestlers of the modern era. With a timeless style and a work ethic that is second to none, Moxley has become a World Champion in WWE, AEW and even New Japan Pro Wrestling. Time after time, Mox has been trusted to step up to the plate and hit a home run - and he rarely fails to do just that."
[9.0] "If there's one man who cares about pro wrestling as if it weren't pre-determined, it's Jon Moxley. He makes every match worth watching by his very force of nature, often scarring himself physically and mentally to benefit AEW as a whole. It also helps his matches are often very engrossing. The past year or so has not been his best work to say the least, but the way he started his reign and ended it were both fantastic, so it all evens itself out in the end."
[9.0] "Mox takes a lot of chances and really works to inovate the hardcore style. he sells the hardcore matches and takes care of his partners well. He's the leading heel in AEW, but in a lot of ways "Jonathon Good" has been the glue that has really been holding AEW together. After MVP made comments about not wanting Hurt Syndicate drop the belts to Jet Speed Mox got in a feud with Jet Speed to help them start getting over real well with the crown. Daniel Garcia has seemed lost for such a long time, Mox has recently started working with him, getting him into the Deathriders. Jonathon Good cares about wrestling, he cares about AEW, He cares about the crop of wrestlers coming up."
[10.0] "One of the, if not THE greatest active heel in professional wrestling, maybe only rivaled by MJF and Chelsea Green in terms of , , you love to hate them". Fitting moveset. Always ready to bleed all over the place. 10/10"
[3.0] "Jon Moxley is not, has not and will never be a main event act. His wrestling is formulaic, boring and safe as Dean Ambrose. Since "returning to wrestling" (as Punk put it), he's been putting on a bunch of deathmatch shite. Why is he bleeding in a good portion of his matches? Are you trying to spread hep c? His gimmick is an Onita rip-off. His promos in WWE were whacky and *could be* funny. Before that, he was a solid promo too. Since going to AEW, he's gone downhill quickly here too. Boring promos that would make his 2019 run look like a Ric Flair territory stint. This is all well and good if he's an undercard act, but no, he's been the face of the second biggest promotion in America. What the fuck? ! Why is he a top champion in 2025? ! For those wanting a short explanation for why I rated him so low; he's the shits."
[9.0] "Jon Moxley is, in my head, the ace of AEW. The guy can be slotted almost anywhere and make it work. Whilst the mid point of the Death Riders storyline really struggled under the weight of some average to bad title defenses, Mox vs Swerve and Mox vs Copeland coming to mind, it really started gaining steam again after Double or Nothing 2025. When you look at the full span of his career, Mox is 100% the best member of the Shield, and is a pretty complete wrestler. His mix of deathmatch shenanigans and occasional technical grappling is a good base, but what actually makes me love Moxley's matches is his how purely he embodies his character. You really do fully believe that he's trying to murder someone when he walks out, and that sheer believability carries over to his promos, where he makes rambling riddle-speak compelling in the way that only he, and perhaps Bray Wyatt, truly can. A nine out of ten in all regards."
"MOX embodies the spirit of unpredictability and toughness that fans gravitate toward. His gritty style and raw intensity made him a standout in WWE, but his run in AEW truly cemented his legacy as one of the top stars of his generation. As champion he carried the company during critical moments and proved himself as a reliable draw. His authenticity and willingness to push boundaries have made him one of the most respected wrestlers in the world"
[9.0] "Jon Moxley has quickly become one of my favorite active wrestlers and now ranks in my top ten of all time. While he's not an exceptional athlete like Will Ospreay or a technical wizard like Bret Hart, Moxley brings something different--and just as important--to the ring: storytelling. His in-ring work isn't about flashy sequences or perfect precision; it's about emotion, character, and creating a sense of realism. Moxley uses every tool at his disposal to craft compelling narratives, often tapping into themes of pain, defiance, and survival. When he's on, he draws you into the fight--making every punch, pause, or stumble feel meaningful. That said, his storytelling hasn't always been as consistent lately. Still, when he's motivated and has the right opponent, few can touch the gritty, raw emotion he brings to a match. Moxley doesn't just wrestle; he makes you feel the fight."
[10.0] "One of my all time favourites and despite the hate he gets, he busts his ass off, with no days off and he has been the ACE of AEW whenever they needed him to step up and be a leader"
[6.0] "He used to be one of the most exciting and deadly competitors during the early days of AEW and any time he came out he had a certain aura about him that none of the locker room could match. He has had a legendary career in general within professional wrestling when it comes to the indies, WWE or AEW. He manages to make a mark anywhere he goes. I would give him a 9 or a 10 based on his career but I wanna look at his current run. Current-day Moxley is decent but not who he once was. He was getting a bit tiring for me since 2023-24 around his IWGP Title run and when he lost it, he left it for a bit before returning with this mysterious character and then him turning BCC into the Deathriders rejuiced the life of Moxley and the faction in general. It had potential to be one of the biggest storylines coming into 2025 but instead it fizzled out and Moxley in general has had some subpar performances. I've been liking him again these last few months but it's gonna take time to mend my liking for him."
[9.0] "Yes, I'm here after All In Texas because Mox doesn't deserve all the hate he got during his last title reign. It's true it wasn't exciting, but there wasn't much he could do. You had to wait for a wrestler who was truly up to the task, not just throw in the first name that came to mind and hope for the best. Hangman, especially since the feud with Swerve, has probably become one of the top wrestlers in the world, and he proved it in the match with Mox. But again, credit to Mox as well it takes two to make a match like that. Now I'd like to see his character evolve, because I believe the All In match was the closing chapter for the Mox we've known until now. I'd love to see him do something different maybe form a new stable, or better yet, go solo. What he really needs is a break and a refresh. But let's not forget, we're talking about one of the best wrestlers on the scene."
[10.0] "Yeah. It's hard to rate him right now, his 2025 has been so bad to the point people have forget how much he has done for AEW and that even 2024 have some great bangers that are a must watch (Shingo, the triple threat at Wrestle Kingdom, Danielson, Takeshita, the CMLL vs AEW match). But he really seems locked in these last few weeks. I really feels that the thing that is keeping Moxley down is the gimmick and the way he wants to portray it in the ring. Whenever he wrestles as a brawler, you can see he is still pretty damn good. I'm keeping this 9 because I feel that people are forgetting too much the things he has done. How he managed the brawl out situation, how he was the key for the relationship between AEW and NJPW because they needed to renegociate his contract because he couldnt wrestle in the United States as a NJPW wrestler, how he is the one in spots like being the first one to iniciate the CMLL - AEW rivarly, the time to be a legend promo, how Christian or Ospreay are in AEW beacuse or inspired by him... Yeah, this guy has done a lot of things that not so many wrestles have done. He still deserves praise for that. A 10 after All In. ACE."
[9.0] "Not everyone's cup of tea, but for my money one of the best wrestlers in the world right now. Hell of a story teller and underated in terms of his mat work. AEW's MVP"
[9.0] "Even if I didn't like his run as a heel champion with the Death Riders, Moxley is undoubtedly one of the corner stones of AEW. He is one of the people who put the company on the map, and not only that, he has shown time and time again that he'll be there whenever the company needs him. Again, I loathed both of his two most recent world title runs (as AEW and IWGP champion), but this dude is just too important to the company to not give him his flowers."
[10.0] "A generational wrestler really. The first guy to hold the top title in the 3 biggest companies in the world. Fantastic promo and great in almost every style of wrestling. The best member of the shield btw."
[6.0] "Never saw him in WWE but in the UK Deans are generally thick numpties and best avoided. Is a confirmed masochist. And sadist. He can go no doubt but went through a period around 2023 where he couldn't make a sandwich without blading. His attempts at profound promos backstage are Poundshop Raven. Current reign of rubbish makes most main events anti climactic, tedious chores. For whatever solid work done previously at the top of the card, he's currently a terrible champ and the sooner the belt's away from him and his mob, the better."
[8.0] "When Jon Moxley is good, he's great. The 2014-2017 Ambrose run had him in best wrestler in WWE conversations for a while for me, his AEW run from 2019 to 2024 was excellent, the issue with Jon Moxley is that when he is bad, he's abysmal, he's very much a marmite wrestler, you either love him or hate him, I've gone back and forth on Moxley since this death riders run began, and his selling has become abysmal because of the death riders run, it feels like he sells nothing. It's lead to me questioning my love of Moxley but I know that when he slams it on, he's one of the best in the world, it's just that this death riders run is ruining a legacy of greatness for Jon Moxley by making him something he shouldn't be, it's made me notice his flaws a lot more than when he was a face and see him as a much more flawed wrestler."
[9.0] "Mox is one of those guys who just feels real every time he steps in the ring. He's not about flashy moves or perfect technique--he's about violence, emotion, and intensity. Whether he's in a brutal deathmatch or cutting a raw promo, you believe every word and every action. He's carved his own lane post-WWE and made himself a cornerstone of AEW. Not for everyone, but if you like gritty, chaotic energy with heart, he's top-tier."
[10.0] "Ever since betting on himself in 2019, Moxley has had a very good career stepping up for AEW and NJPW when needed, having bangers in almost every match, while I think he had a bad 3 months in the start of 2025, I feel like he's picked up form for a while now and im enjoying his matches lately, probably the best Shield membre for me"
[10.0] ""Not this guy again! He's always bleeding! " My wife and I's reaction to Mox in a shopping mall match for NJPW Strong during the pandemic. And he ended up with skewers in his head! For a know nothing match in Podunken Arizona and Mox tried to bleed out. After that, my wife and I have had many conversations about Death Matches, as we watched more and more Death Matches. When is it real? When is it a blade? Is it blood pack? Because it's starting to pool. Here's the thing: Doesn't matter. Not to Mox. Mox blades because it gets the job done efficiently. I stopped carrying about Mox getting hurt the moment I discovered it hurts me more than it hurts him. And I am a pussy. After that, it's Mox twisting the knife in our wound. Outside, this man is the most savage bastard I've ever seen. Inside? You know how some are 'Ring Generals'? Mox is a 'Ring Jesus'. All he wants to do in crucify himself for our enjoyment. Love. Admire. Fear. Shock. Horror. Disgust. Captivated. Mox is almost entirely constructed of wrestling. Mox is what happens when Bruce Wayne was the gimmick the whole time."
[10.0] "Mox is one of the most consistant in-ring performers in the 2020s and he always helped AEW even at its worst. Best member of The Shield. Edit : yeah his 2024-2025 run absolutely horrendous but I'm keeping my 10, his run before that was absolutely incredible and screw Nolan Green for volunteerly lowering any of his fantastic matches and even his wife to the bottom because Mox today sucks."
[4.0] "The current version of Jon Moxley, 2023-present, is what's driving this rating down. This guy has managed to have slow, tedious, boring matches with Bryan Danielson, Swerve, Edge, and Samoa Joe. Statistically it should be impossible but he did it. On top of that the meat riders stable is truly horrible. As many others have said, he now bleeds in a humorous fashion like Ric Flair and it loses all meaning and purpose. Almost everything prior to 2023 is very good. He was an extremely important fixture in the early years of AEW. He did wild, violent matches on the indies, was part of The Shield, and had a good run as Dean Ambrose from 2014-17."
[4.0] "This dude blows now he sucks so much he stinks up the show whenever he's on. With his fake Stone Cold Steve Austin and his stable sucks so much, He's destroying what MJF, Samoa Joe, and Swerve Strickland have done for the AEW world championship. Two people with bright futures and someone that has a name and now the belt gets messed up by a DeAtH-JiN-JiTsu or whatever he does. Okay his WWE stuff was great and he was enjoyable on the Indies when he was doing deathmatches when it was clear that it was for the love of it and to show his love for wrestling and now he does it it feels like I'm watching a child actor still acting to make up the debt that their family made with the kids movie money. Dean Ambrose was great and if you asked someone who the best shield member was more likely they would have said Dean was. But now if you asked a wrestling fan to name the three members of the shield it would be Seth, Roman, and who? Even thinking about him doing his stupid walk around the ring it makes me go BLECH."
[6.0] "In 2025, his in-ring performance has declined to a concerning level, likely earning a 5/10 rating. While his career has always reflected a deep passion for hardcore-style wrestling, I'll refrain from overly harsh critiques out of respect for his dedication to the craft."
[10.0] "I love jon moxley he is my goat in prowrestling In indiey wrestling he was greate in wwe in japan and in aew he was a goat and he is a goat ..."
"When the ancient Roman poet Virgil spoke of the river Tiber foaming with much blood, he was foreshadowing the hemophiliac that is Jon Moxley, better known as Dean Ambrose. When your matches have more blood than the average Tarantino flick, then you've stopped caring about rasslin' or entertainment."
[0.0] "Respectfully, he is possibly the most overindulgent and worst main event wrestler of all-time.I enjoyed him during his time in the WWE- at that time, I would have rated him a 5 or 6 - a reliable hand but ceiling at mid-card at best limited by his sloppy, incoherent wrestling and queer twitches in promos (just limited ability all around). Improved slightly in 2019, but only due to the surprise factors and "hardcore" wrestling which is garbage wrestling in my opinion. As of 2025, he has proven to be an immature man child PR disaster, pointing middle fingers everywhere and spewing the F-word everywhere. Garbage wrestling with nonsense blade jobs. He is an insult to this profession and the legends he emulate such as Terry Funk. He's political and holds young talent down in the name of the "greater good". The sooner he retires the better, if he ever comes back to WWE - a feud with Roman or Seth carrying this chump could save his rating to about 3 or 4."
[8.0] "Mox is an excellent worker that excels at brawler/hardcore style matches. He can hold in own in more technical matches, however. He has fantastic promos and a unique presence that draws you in."
[5.0] "*Gets lightly punched, bleeds, gets thrown over the ropes, bleeds, falls down a little bit too fast, bleeds, bleeds bleeds bleeds. I liked him as Dean Ambrose with the Shield, but since they disbanded I cannot stand the guy. Guy is an edge lord, he cut himself more than AEW cuts boring promos. He needs to be edgy and bloody and take a stupid spiked bat to the back to be relevant. He gives himself championships lol. I don't like him as a wrestler, but as an addict myself I know it's hard to make it through the end, I just hope his end as a wrestler is soon, because he sucks."
[7.0] "Historically speaking, Jon Moxley (or Dean Ambrose, or both as I should put it) has been one of the greatest brawler wrestlers in the history of the business, and he has been for the most part quite entertaining too. Much like Jericho however, he has been regressing and it's been happening at a young age for Mox and fairly quickly; I have to still be objective and take in his entire career even if his current stuff is absolute dogshit. Jon Moxley came about from the indies like most of the big time wrestlers today have and didn't gain much notoriety until he joined Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns as Dean Ambrose in a career-defining stable known as The Shield. Most of the work The Shield did was great and then Seth turned on Roman ending the alliance between the three. Dean would enjoy quite a bit of a good run as a singles star and got to show his character work even more so than when he did during The Shield's tenure. However, a lot of his time in WWE was plagued by backstage issues (which I am not too up-to-speed on, nor will I pretend to be such) and injuries which ultimately ended his run in the company in 2019. It wouldn't be long before we saw the incredible debut in AEW of Jon Moxley at the same year's Double Or Nothing. That was the beginning of what was a hell of a run by Jon Moxley; winning championships, having interesting segments, and even though his hardcore stuff might be cringe-inducing at times, he's sacrificing a lot for our entertainment so kudos to him. A lot has changed however in the past year, Jon Moxley has been having terrible matches (for historical Jon Moxley standards), has had some strange character in a poorly-presented stable known as The Death Riders, and his World Championship *reign* is one of the absolute WORST in the company's history, but he isn't the worst *all-time* champion in the company due to his previous 3 title reigns not being bad at all, that dubious "honor" belongs to someone else (you probably know who I may be referring to *wink wink*). The last two PPVs have been main-evented by Mox and he has managed to stink up the entire perception of both PPVs with his rather poor in-ring work and absymal endings to those said PPVs. Understandably, Moxley is getting older, but he is 15 years younger than Jericho, who is someone who also has been falling off as of recently but because of age, Jericho's in-ring downfall is to be expected. Of course, Moxley over the last year has been rough, but he *actually is* fixable, probably should rethink his character and focus on getting better again in the ring. I really do like Moxley outside of his more recent stuff, and I'm rooting for him to get better, as I'm sure most wrestling fans who are dissatisfied with his work are."
[7.0] "Whether he's Dean Ambrose or Jon Moxley, he was my favorite wrestler and got me into wrestling in 2015. This guy was my favorite when he was in WWE, I just loved watching him and just having a blast seeing what he'll do next. I would give him a 9 or 10, but what he's currently doing in AEW is changing my feelings on him. This gimmick he has now isn't it, he's just boring to watch and he's matches are really getting affected because of it."
[0.0] "Genuinley one of the worst in the world right now. I never EVER thought I'd reach a point where Id rather have JON MOXLEY of all wrestlers completely off of my tv screen before I "let it play out". he has had 4 horrific ppv main events in a row. His promo style is just nonsensical riddles and empty platitudes. There is nothing enjoyable about moxleys run right now. Jon Moxley's current AEW World Championship run has been marred by controversial booking decisions, fan dissatisfaction, and critiques of his in-ring performances. That's literally all the discourse that's going, and it is deserved! While Moxley has been a pivotal figure in AEW's history, the recent direction of his character and matches has left me and many others yearning for more compelling storytelling and not this surface level nonsense."
[3.0] "Dean ambrose went from being the hottest guy and underdog in WWE at his prime to an absolute random guy in 2025. Bad booking and a bad gimmick including death rider ruined him as a serious wrestler and a world champion, he needs to change immediately. Bad in ring, bad gimmick, bad ending and definitely the worst reign in the history of AEW, he should drop the title ASAP and repackage himself with a new gimmick that does not involve "nick gage" inspiration. EDIT: more bad matches and at this point the booking is wcw-level of "oh that sucks"! Needs to drop the title ASAP before the damages become irrecoverable for his whole career."
[0.0] "What happened to Jon Moxley... it really seemed like this dude had a knack for this pro wrestling stuff. But ever since the Punk feud, he's gone downhill so awfully bad. Guy hasn't had a good, or even decent match in almost two years. The Danielson match was good, but it led to this bullshit ass title reign so it might as well be a 0. If you honestly asked me before this title reign what I thought about Mox, I would literally say he's been holding the company together and been a reliable and believable champ when shit got rocky. But now he is the Kraken trying to sink the AEW ship. I'll change my rating back to an 8/9 after he finishes his first post-title reign program, and see if he's actually washed or not. Since the Punk feud, he's just been this cringe, "Death-Jitsu"/ AJPW Wannabe/Bloodsport Cosplayer, and it's honestly horrific stuff. 2019-early 2023 Moxley, was Elite, no pun intended. What we've had since is literally just post-pandemic Chris Jericho, shit rivalries with shittier matches, and only gets pops when he loses. Tony Khan free us now you bum."
[0.0] "Jon Moxley is a very overrated wrestler! I don't know why he's rated more than an 8 I think he's been very overrated since his days in wwe his ability in the ring is very poor right now. I don't know exactly what restrictions he had on Brock Lesnar back in the day, but I think it must have been something really weird, so Brock turned it down and it ended up being a normal match. Now he's in AEW and he's doing some really weird blood jobs and some really weird scripts. I remember very clearly Triple H saying he would lose that million dollar sponsorship, although he had a weird restriction before. I think he needs someone to protect him.I think he needs to have a separate writing team like in wwe to be able to show his abilities. He's just too much right now."
"My least favorite wrestler to ever be featured in a top spot for an extended time. Completely inadequate in every aspect of being a professional wrestler. For the longest time it struck me that he didn't even want to be a wrestler. Wants to be taken seriously and hated being a comedic wrestler in WWE, but everything about his presentation is comical. From his Popeye expressions to things like "Death Jitsu". It's like what a 10 year old thinks is cool and edgy. Top all that off with the cringiest hardcore matches with no rhyme or reason. Just blood for the sake of blood because it's "kewl". In a business where so many are accused of big egos or being too self important, Mox comes off like a 9 year old who believes his own kayfabe. Completely unenjoyable to watch, to listen to, and to feature a promotion around."
[7.0] "Man 2 years ago I might have said 9/10 but recently his in ring work has gone way downhill... He was always... different enough on the mic to seem a little crazy so you couldn't really knock his mic skills. Honestly I'm not sure what's happened to him. He seems to be in the best shape of his life... So it's really a mystery. I mean the booking for him and the Death Riders has been pretty bad but you'd think he could still deliver a decent match."
[7.0] "Oh friend, I died on 4/24/19, the most painful day of my life, I love Dean Ambrose, without Dean Ambrose I could not continue living, my favorite wrestler, the funniest, the best, really. Jon Moxley is fine, I like it, but even amazing, I will always prefer Dean Ambrose (sorry to say so much Dean Ambrose, is that he is necessary to say his full name). Please, go back to my arms Dean. Edit: being sincere only my qualification was 10.0 by Dean Ambrose, but I feel I should change. Jon Moxley is weird, the idea of "being the hard guy" is fine, but it is not well executed, the Moxley spot, usually, do not work, when you see it say "why did it do that? It was necessary? " Instead of "wow, that was amazing, really he is hard." And I don't like that, it doesn't cause me the desired reaction. It can improve, it will improve when it does not make more unnecessary spots and do not try to kill people with plastic bags."
[2.0] "One of the worst wrestlers to ever be featured in a main event spot for such a long time. He's basically a indie deathmatch guy who somehow gets booked as a top level star in the 2nd biggest promotion in America. Fake tough guy, never sells, never puts anyone over and his matches are the shits. Has somehow gotten worse the last few years too. 2 points because if I ever need a good laugh I'll watch one of his matches - entertaining for ALL the wrong reasons. [8.0] "He has lived many lives in wrestling and succeeded in all of them. His best work is in AEW but his time in WWE was also extremely successful - there truly aren't many wrestlers like him in that respect. He has his off days but I put this down to the type of wrestler he is which makes it really important to see who he's paired with."
[9.0] "this man didn't carry a whole company on his back 3 different times for people to say that they never liked him, or he was always bad. Don't worry Jon we still love you"
[6.0] "I don't get why this guy is so over when he's just a typical brawler / streetfighter type of wrestler. I don't find him very entertaining outside of WWE where he was forced to put on better matches than in AEW but I've never been a fan of deathmatches or hardcore wrestling."
[4.0] "If I wanna be honest i never liked Jon in fact i hated him the second he debuted. But now when i look at his WWE run i actually start to miss Dean Ambrose. He worked much much better as a lunatic title chaser rather than the title holder and ig WWE knew that. And now he just feels like Lesner 2.0. The fact that he dose BJJ has given him so much false ego and when it comes to my mind i feel like he is using his power to overpush himself so he could fufill his ego( since he is very terrible at bjj tournaments ) he needs to find a way to fulfill and satisfy his false ego and he is abusing his power in AEW by burying young and up and coming talents."
[0.0] "I never enjoyed his work all that much. He was fine when he was in Shield but even back then I didn't like him. And he was basically the MVP of AEW during the pandemic .I could respect his work and understand how someone would enjoy it even though I myself didn't. All that respect has been gone for a few years now. His work has gotten sloppy and I can't stand his promos. The worst part about it is that he seems to be always on top in AEW. And this Death Riders run has only solidified my opinion on him. He's been consistently having some of the weakest world title matches and Main Events in the company, yet somehow is still the champion. If I wanted to give his carrer an overall score, it's be a 5. But I rate wrestlers based on their current work until they retire, So Mox gets a 0 from me."
[6.0] "Moxley is the example of a good wrestler who desperately needs a producer. If in WWE his matches were passable and good in the tag team division. Since then he has given free rein to his "creativity" in AEW and has "delighted" us with his hardcore fights and references to eighties movies. I wish Mox had continued to cultivate the character that gave us that great first AEW world reign in 2020, the wrestler who gave us great fights in a pandemic, without bleeding every week. Please Mox, accept that you need help and you are not ready to be creative."
[7.0] "Lol nah I was so wrong. Used to have Moxley as a 10 but the past year has proven one or two detractions right. He doesn't have the brain. Can't write worth shit, and unfortunately he's been given opportunity after opportunity to prove he sure can't. Dogshit IWGP title reign, dogshit AEW title reign, the first man to hold both current iterations of the titles and he's by far the worst of both bunches. But, he can still wrestle quite well. Takagi No DQ, Cassidy at Full Gear, Danielson and Darby in consecutive matches, he continues to prove he can still go. He's just, not the guy he needs to be."
[6.0] "Revised 2025: I wasn't a huge fan of Moxley at the start of his AEW run. I found his unstoppable badass character boring and stupidly overprotected, and his wrestling to be some times debatable, but as time went on I came to appreciate other aspects of his which made me more tolerant of his character as a whole. Unfortunately, he seems to have Tony Khan by the balls, and any accusations of potential power abuse that have been leveled at other top guys over the years probably should've been leveled towards Moxley instead. Moxley continues to rarely lose, which makes him an outlier in a company where multiple top guys who far exceed Moxley's in-ring talent (Ospreay, Swerve, Omega, Danielson, Hangman) are all obviously generous in how they view wins and losses. But poor old Moxley just cant be seen as weak. If he loses more than once a year he might need to do some actual character work besides just shrugging his shoulders and spitting into the camera about how hardcore and badass he is. It is beyond played out at this point, Moxley is stale and actively driving away interest in the product."
[5.0] "[Updated Rating] I used to love Moxley during the pandemic era of AEW. To me, he was a breath of fresh air. An unstoppable, uncontrollable badass who, in-ring, was just as violent as you'd expect. A loose cannon in every sense of the word. His promos were fantastic, and his run as AEW World Champion from that era was also great. But with the split of the BCC and official formation of the Death Riders in 2024, I feel as though my views on Moxley have changed. The Death Riders were very interesting to begin with. Mox's cryptic promos, while odd, were enjoyable for what they were. But nothing actually ever came of them and that's what I take issue with. Even to this day the cryptic promos and odd segments continue, and those once great matches are now routinely bombarded with interference from the other members of the group like Claudio or Wheeler. Most things I loved about Mox from the earlier days of AEW and even well into the era of the Blackpool Combat Club have very abruptly vanished, leaving me feeling pretty mixed about his current character/storyline and upset at the booking overall for having no satisfying beats or progression."
[7.0] "I've always wanted to like him more than I do, especially after he left WWE and showed up in AEW and NJPW. But his early stint in NJPW cooled him on me. He had some alright matches but he just wasn't as good or interesting as everyone else. To be fair, that was like the tail end of a killer period in New Japan but still. In AEW he's pretty hit or miss. Much more miss lately."
[7.0] "A prime example of a guy whom truly benefitted from his involvement with AEW. His early WWE work was truly physically impressive, and Vince was wrong to stick him with the stupid face mask gimmick when he had a veritable hit on his hands. It's great to still see Moxley rocking the hardcore style these days, but I'm beginning to become concerned about what may be concussion issues as his career goes on; guy looks quite rough for only 38. UPDATE: I am subtracting one point from my score because, with this BBC/Death Riders update, this guy's promo abilities really, really took a plane trip to Myanmar & never returned. He is an excellent worker & has a wildly-well-booked backcatalogue to always fall back on when rationalizing a rating, but these piss-poor generic heel promos & the fact that the Death Riders update features the same shit week in & week out really could be his worst ideas ever."
[5.0] "Great times in the WWE as Dean Ambrose. Wacky, talented, and entertaining. Could put up great matches with nice athleticism and in-ring work. Mic skills were great as well and the cherry on top. I'd say its after 2018 he started to become boring, more edgy and slow, and this brooding meat-head type. Started shaving his hair and gained weight, became bald and lost his somewhat boyish good looks. Then he left and joined a new AEW, at that time it was at its peak anyway so he rebounded well. Nowadays he's just another nobody. He's there just to make cash. Most aren't interested in that product. Besides, I loathe his wannabe psycho and hypermasculine, bleed literally everywhere personality. Its way too repetitive. He looks like an alcoholic-abusive mid-50s father nowadays. Physique is just bloated. Not how a superstar is supposed to look or be. Maybe for a niche company like AEW which serves a very small and decreasing audience."
[6.0] "Years ago, my rating would have been higher. Really good early on in his WWE career, but towards the end not very memorable. Had a solid start to AEW, but has been really bad over the last year with story lines he had a say in. His Death Riders stable is a huge swing and a miss. At one time he had the cool factor going but that was many years ago."
"9/10. One of the best to ever do it. The intense compelling promos combined with the love for violence in the ring makes him a can't miss talent. You can give this guy anything and he will heat it up. Jon should run his own wrestling school when he retires. The wrestling industry would be way better if there were more Moxleys in it. Perfect blend of authentic, raw, violent, intense, and sincere. One of the few guys in wrestling where he can get over being himself."
[6.0] "I feel like he's just been on a downward trajectory ever since that first year of Smackdown Live. The last few years of his WWE run were a mixed bag. He showed a lot of promise in that first year with his work in Japan and AEW, but his work in the ring and on the mic has been declining year after year. He's one of those guys now who I think is a prime example of a wrestler who shouldn't have creative control and nearly every appearance nowadays has me reaching for the remote. I do however think he is still salvageable as he seems to be getting back into shape and if someone can check his ego."
[7.0] "He's a complicated situation; I used to like him sm in WWE, but they decided to ruin him in his final year, in AEW, he started really well, and he was one of my favorites, but year after year I started less liking his run, and now him and the deathriders is among the worst things I have ever watched in 2024, and still among the worst things now"
[6.0] "I'm giving him a 6 because I'm a fan of Dean Ambrose, he was a cool little wildcard in the shield that I believed starting out was more or less the leader seeing as even WWE used him as the singles guy. I'm not gonna say the US title reign was good, cause we all know it wasn't, he defended the thing 16 times out of 351 days, come on man, but it was still a good looking belt around his waist and added a lot of credibility to the shield which made it the greatest faction since evolution up till that point. His work up until the whole Roman leukemia & revenge on Seth thing was great in my eyes, but I just can't get behind Moxley. His debut and first title reign in AEW was great, perfect amount of time, his debut felt like a Lex Luger Nitro comeback, he was credible, he was fresh, and he felt cool upon his return. But anything after that I couldn't really appreciate. He is now within the likes of Charlotte Flair being put into any singe division they want him in that week without earning the 10th title shot hes getting. His in ring work has always been just a little above mediocre, and his promos since leaving all feel repetitive and bland, he can be cool at times when used right and he does understandable hold star power, he has a good look, but whenever he holds titles since his departure and first AEW World title it feels disgraceful. He killed the value of the Mid Atlantic title, he feels like a blemish the history of the IWGP World title, his current world title reign is an absolute waste of tv time in my opinion. When it comes to stables that arent the Shield, I have never like the BCC seeing that its a ton of bland overrated wrestlers (And William Regal) thrown together and all placed in the main event while supposedly being created to get the younger generation over while solely "boosting" a lost cause in Wheeler Yuta, and the Deathriders are an even worse stable without even having any other talented star power in the likes of Bryan"
[6.0] "Mox had a good run in The Shield, as when by the implosion of the group, some gold potential started to shine through. And while his solo run in WWE after that wasn't all that good, he did the best with what he was given. Now, I am not sold on his work in AEW. The constant bleeding doesn't help, gratuitous blood in wrestling doesn't sit right with me. All in all, he's okay. Nothing more, nothing less."
[4.0] "Shit physique. Shit gear. Shit wrestler. Can do a decent promo when the time calls for it but it's hit or miss. His tough guy gimmick is cringey, and he seems to buy into if the videos of his white belt grappling matches are to go buy. The shoulder rolling, middle finger throwing all just makes him come across like a dude who drinks too much monster and punches walls when his wife asks him to mind the kids, he tells his friends to hold him back in bar fights. Blades in almost every match for no genuine reason that it can elevate the match. I'd be happy to never see him wrestle again."
[7.0] "Mox is such a weird case for me, I am one of those fans whose first exposure to pro wrestling was early 2010s wwe as I was about 6 or 7 years old when I first started watching wrestling and then two or three years after watching wrestling for the first time the Shield made their main roster debut I became an instant of MOX during his Dean ambrose days even past the shield days but as I grew older my fondness for the WWE in house style soured as I got a taste of all the different flavours of wrestling found outside of the walled garden and with that my love for Dean Ambrose as a character fizzled out then fast foward to Aew I saw his work I'm the early days of the company and I fell in love with his work once again as I saw a different side that he didn't really tap into during wwe days but then as the company grew I started noticing some of his bad habits rising to the surface stuff like his obsession with blood, edgy criptic and monotonous promos that lack substance and depth and more often than not sound like the ramblings of a maon the verge of insanity, lack of selling with the worst display in my opinion being him taking 5 consecutive orange punches and shaking them off like nothing happened, him rarely losing matches even when it makes sense for him to lose like the ftr match at revolution and the eliminator match at double or nothing against Takeshita which I despise. It wouldn't be fair to blame for every bad thing that happens though like him being a four time world championnin a five year old company isn't really as much his fault as it an error in judgement on Tony Khan's side. I still like Mox but I feel like he is someone who could benefit from someone who can pull the reigns and subdue some of his bad habits."
[9.0] "I can't believe that John Moxley is real. His character is amazing and he is one of the geniuses of hardcore wrestling. Unfortunately, he didn't have an interesting situation at the end of his time in wwe, but now he is the best wrestler in the world"
[9.0] "Unappreciated for what he offers, Mox is one of the best. Its one thing to be a main event champion in the WWE, AEW, or NJPW, but all three? That takes some skill. Sobriety was an issue for a spell, but he seems to have turned the corner on that and while he may never have the look traditionally associated with a main eventer, he certainly has the grit of a champion. Moxley has proved time and time again that he's one of the best."
"The man who made me fall in love with wrestling, one of the most charismatic wrestlers in modern wrestling, his promos are always mesmerising to inspire, in a word, legend"
[3.0] "I like Mox as a character but his in-ring work is really lackluster. I didn't care about him in the E, then AEW gave him complete creative freedom and now he just over-does everything EDIT 4 years later and this guy is getting increasingly annoying and unwatchable. If you told me 4 years ago that I would have preferred Dean Ambrose I would not have believed it. His matches are so repetitive and all over the place, and in my eyes he has such a fake tough guy charisma that makes me want to switch channel whenever he's on. His misuse of blood just shows his fundamental lack of understanding of wrestling psichology EDIT-2 STOP MAKING THIS GUY CHAMPION I AM SO TIRED OF HIM I SWEAR AND HIS WRESTLING KEEPS GETTING WORSE at least Triple H during the reign of terror was a believable heel I cannot believe a single word this guy says"
[9.0] "Extremely good hand, doesn't have the technical ability to give me what a I want out of my favorite matches, but have really enjoyed a wide variety of the stuff he does, particularly enjoy his mind for deathmatches. As a lover of violence, Mox is one of the best in the mainstream, while still having enough of everything else to make it work for a larger audience."
[6.0] "Feels like a parody of a tough guy to me, I'm totally allergic to his overblown hyperbadass persona. I wish there was some sense of him having fun or maybe winking a bit with it (like Savage or Hogan) but as it is, he tries so hard that I end up nitpicking his nonsensical promos apart and am left totally cold. As a wrestler, can be hit or miss for me, but I'm rarely interested to see him on camera."
[7.0] "He can be a compelling wrestler and it's very obvious that he cares a lot about his performance. I like him in small doses but otherwise he's just not my cup of tea. He lacks a bit of consistency."
[10.0] "Mox is on my personal wrestling Mount Rushmore. I thought he was kinda cool when I first got into wrestling but the thing that really drew me in was listening to him talk and I suddenly could see why he became such a cult hero, his personality is just that magnetic. When I'm frustrated and need to let off some steam I watch a match of his and imagine myself in his place throwing people into barbed wire boards n shit. I also look up to him in the way that I hope someday I'll get recognition for the hard work I put in my life every day, just like he eventually got."
[9.0] "One of the most consistently wrestlers in the game, Moxley does an excellent job switching between scrappy fighter and nasty street tough as the moment calls for it. His promos are usually an excellent blend of sincere and intense and he this has lead to some great moments. He effortlessly pumps out good matches, and you can believe that he eats, sleeps, and breathes wrestling. When CM Punk was forced to vacate the AEW title Moxley was the backup plan and he proved himself deserving of that. I do feel there is some separation between Moxley and the S tier wrestlers, and that is the ability to elevate a match from great to all-time amazing. While the list of Moxley matches I'd rate in the 7.5-8.5 range is huge, the number of 10s is very small. When he does get there, it's often because the other wrestler is pulling him into it than the other way around. Accordingly, I feel compelled to rate him a 9 rather than a 10, but I would still happily watch a Moxley TV main event any day of the week."
[9.0] "Great worker, great promo, great in-ring work, amazing matches, and a really cool wrestler. The bleeding makes him look like a bad-ass, his AEW world title reigns were awesome. His WWE stuff was also really fun, but he seems a lot happier now. Also the first person to win the WWE, AEW, and IWGP world championships. Terrific wrestler who never fails to put a smile on my face."
[8.0] "I'm not a huge Moxley guy, but I can understand the appeal he has to other people. He's very consistent, and on his best nights he can go like the best of them. I think he has an over reliance on bleeding, which I personally am not a huge fan of, but I do enjoy it from time to time. I'm glad that, as of me writing this, he is finally getting that vacation he was supposed to go on after All Out 2022, because he deserves it."
[9.0] "one of those guys that loves professional wrestling so much that sometimes it makes you question whether he knows it's a work or not, in the best possible way. His fight against Orange Cassidy at All Out is one of my favorite fights of all time. He looks cool and dangerous and he loves death matches as much as I do. Elevates the people he wrestles, making them look cooler and more dangerous in a way I consistently appreciate. So glad that he's being appreciated for everything he brings, including his NJPW title reign."
[6.0] "(Sorry english is not my firtst language) I dont a big fan of hardcore wrestling but the biggest problem is that Moxley doing so many other fights and mostly they dont look like good to me, expect his title rain with AEW championship i dont like other moments of his career"
[8.0] "One of the more modern brawlers of our times that surely passionate about pro wrestling. To me, he can put on an absolute banger of a match when he's given under great booking. His psychology in his matches make up for his more limited move-set. He's not my cup of tea, but he ultimately earned my respect."
[9.0] "Modern day Stone Cold. Was my favorite member of The Shield since day one since he already made a name for himself in FCW through feuding with Regal. Decent in the ring (not Daniel Bryan or HBK level obviously, but a solid 8), always delivers at hardcore matches, excellent promo skills, borderline Punk level personally. WWE wasted him with Vince's idiotic gimmicks and now he is among the best in the world once he has more freedom to his character."
"Jon Moxley is unabashedly himself. Very confident in his abilities and very good at what he does. He's versatile and above all absolutely loves wrestling in any and all forms and loves looking for ways to improve and get better which he has done with every year he has been in the business. It's nice to see a wrestler who does not have a huge ego for himself that thinks anything is below him, or he doesn't have anything left to learn. One of the best babyfaces around. Fans just love him and his struggle, and believe in his journey's and his words."
[6.0] "At one time, I thought he truly had the potential to be the next big star in wrestling. My things have changed since then. His WWE run ended with him becoming a joke, and then his AEW run, which began really well, has been hampered by his obsession with bleeding now in every match to make up for an increasing laziness as a worker. He's become a real disappointment to me, if I'm honest."
[7.0] "A good athlete, wasted in WWE due to Vince idiocies, but still able to reach some great goals. In AEW/NJPW he is treated in a more serious way than WWE but he slowly gets boring and quite overrated, similar to John Cena. I know he's a truly workhorse but he needs to reinvent his character."
[5.0] "Solid promo but doesn't really have a character and is poor in the ring. Moxley's in-ring ability is simply bad, his storytelling is weak and his selling ability is just as bad. Moxley's offense is poor and in every single match, he has to bleed, which is unnecessary and gets old quickly."
[9.0] "I think Moxley almost got completely fucked over in WWE, especially in the later years of his run. Luckily, he's been able to turn it around, and I think he is the best of his kind. One of the best hardcore/deathmatch wrestlers, one of the most charismatic, one of the best gimmicks, and always a solid hand to have in any company. Super fucking good."
[7.0] "I definitely do not mind Moxley, but I think he is very overrated for what he is. Overall he is a good brawler who would probably fit better in a tag team than as a main event guy, and unless he is in a deathmatch or with a worker who can carry in regard to psychology and pacing he struggles. I am probably a bit jaded from him winning the IWGP belt but either way he does not do it for me as a wrestler. That being said he is an excellent deathmatch guy, and can brawl as well as anyone else going today."
[9.0] "In my first years as a wrestling fan thinking that WWE is the only company in the world and only watching their product, I wasn't really a fan of Dean Ambrose, but the years passed and the guy went to AEW and quickly became one of my favorites, he's sensational, almost everything about him is great, the presentation, the look, the mic skill... Moxley is the ace of AEW, and a legend in the three biggest companies in the world for the period he was wrestling, I love that he isn't afraid of working small indies, the man just loves wrestling, and it's super passionate about it. When he left WWE and could actually be himself, he's impeccable, people sometimes hate the fact he bleed a lot, but it doesn't bother me at all, it's just part of his style, he's a hardcore guy. Mox is one of the best brawlers of his generation, without a doubt."
[10.0] "Being that cool is illegal. Charisma, attitude, promos, rivalries. Also really cool wrestling style, he can adapt to any opponent. Mox is the face of AEW."
"His promos as the de facto leader of The Shield were great. He really had the aura and potential to be a badass anti authority figure similar to Austin, but WWE turned him into a comedy goof that rolls around a hotdog cart and talks to a potted plant. Now hes at AEW and Im not impressed by him there either. Not a fan of death matches in the first place but Moxleys are really bad and nonsensical. A guy who was probably my favorite member of The Shield from 2013-2015 is now by far my least favorite of the 3."
[6.0] "At his absolute best he's a passable Terry Funk expy. His deathmatches are really samey and his best work is whenever he isn't using gimmicks or blading needlessly. Was a pretty decent promo in his early career but seems to have lost that edge somewhere around the midway point of his WWE run."
[4.0] "The weaker member of The Shield. When they first debuted, I really thought Moxley was going to be that breakout star. He was ahead of Rollins & Reigns at the time, but he stagnated and then Rollins & Reigns passed by him. He never really hit that next level in my opinion. He can put on a good match, but I feel like he's just missing that one thing to really take him further. The writing in WWE for Moxley was awful and didn't do him any favours, he's much better suited in AEW but still he's hit a ceiling and can't go any further. I wouldn't call him a bad wrestler, as he does a lot of things right, but there's some things he's missing which I have to take into account with this raiting."
[10.0] "Moxley is quite simply the top star of AEW, yes he's not an Ospreay, an Omega, a Seth Rollins on a technical level, yes he bleeds all the time, yes maybe but damn she's a huge star! Phenomenal charisma, a hypnotizing presence and above all he is not a bad wrestler, on the contrary he is capable of being excellent and putting on a great match. As for blood, he loves it, it's part of his character and suits him perfectly. Moreover, he is so willing to do completely crazy spots, to keep company, to make a title even more prestigious and even to highlight other wrestlers. Moxley is simply an excellent wrestler."
[10.0] "Jon Moxley is one of the best wrestler on last 10 years and he is a Complete Wrestler. He is technical he has good mic skills , he can strong style wrestle , he is a leader in background. He is absolutely Ace of AEW and Pro Wrestling."
[7.0] "Moxley is just a fine wrestler to me. His days in CZW are very dirty so I don't want to review it further. But during his time as Dean Ambrose in WWE, he established himself as a better wrestling performer and he complimented his styles and manners from CZW by making him into an unhinged and unstable lunatic character. His time in The Shield was great, he became the unofficial leader and speaker of the group and helped usher the group on top. As a solo, he was one of the very intriguing superstars that WWE ever had. One of the interesting guys and his motives are unpredictable. He had enough championships in WWE alone and at least a future HOF candidate for sure, although he could be WWE World Champion more than once. WWE dropped the ball on him on late 2018 when they decided to repackage himself as a character that he never liked. However, his time in AEW is the best Moxley run thus far. He is one of the guys who lay the foundations of AEW and became the kingpin of it. He had memorable matches like Kenny Omega and MJF. He won multiple world championships and a champion who can rely on. He is also a great addition to Blackpool Combat Club and making him one of the legit threats in the business. His expertise expanded in NJPW and showed his own strong styles with the likes of Minoru Suzuki and Tomohiro Ishii. One of the downsides of Moxley is his excessive bleeding in the matches, even with a simple match on its own. Glad that Moxley recovered from being a CZW wrestler who just do garbage death matches to become one of the very reliable wrestlers that can really wrestle in the ring. One of the most passionate wrestlers they had and a very good brawler."
[9.0] "The Ace of AEW. Dependable wrestler to have good matches. He is also can adapt to any wrestling style in the world. He has great charisma and good promo skills. I think one day he will be remembered as one of legends in pro wrestling. He's not one of my favorite wrestler, but i really respect for his contributions in pro wrestling industry."
[10.0] "The best brawler of his generation, one of the best promo of his generation, a main event player everywhere he went, the ace of the second biggest company in the world, a guy you can always count on when needed... And when Bryan Danielson says the guy is one of the best in the world if not the best, I trust him. But ofc like every great wrestler he got his share of haters, because a lot people think they understand wrestling when in reality they don't"
[10.0] "The Ace of the World, Jon Moxley is the reason I got into wrestling in 2016. Since leaving WWE he's proven himself to be one of the greatest wrestlers in the world."
[5.0] "He's a professional guy and has been reliable for his company multiple times in the past, isn't a problematic individual so props to him for that. With that being said, his character has zero depth or complexity, his wrestling isn't engaging at all, he cannot sell to save his life and is incapable of having a semi watchable match without blood."
[9.0] "Can't deny that I've been biased towards Mox ever since he was my favourite member of WWE's Shield faction, and I only like him more when he's allowed to get down and dirty with some Japanese-esque deathmatch tactics. People can claim he's "wannabe Stone Cold" and they do, an insufferable amount, but honestly I don't see it at all. Mox is Mox."
"I really admire how Mox has evolved in and out of ring over the years. Such a distinct style and swagger to his wrestling, while never sacrificing efficiency or ruthlessness. Sure, some of his blading is excessive, but he cuts great promos, elevates any faction he's in, and adapts his approach seamlessly to singles, tag, or trios. Reliable, straightforward, and clearly passionate about what he does. But I really respect and cherish how he supports others in the industry (such as Billie Starkz, recently), and his vulnerability and openness regarding his journey to sobriety. To humanize yourself and stay graceful in the public eye is a huge accomplishment. Have loved watching him in AEW and NJPW and hope he stays healthy and rockin' for a long time to come."
[10.0] "Easily one of the premier North American talents on network television at the moment. He truly is the Ace we don't deserve but the one we need. One of the best promos in pro wrestling history, he comes across as tough as well as vulnerable. He's gritty like Stan Hansen, Relatable and just as insane as Atsushi Onita, and willing to adapt to new styles like Terry Funk. He's willing to bleed every week as most wrestlers should, yet this is a criticism to some people, which is just symbolic of the negative effects of the fed banning blading. Mox is one of the few wrestlers who can fuel my nostalgia of those old hardcore days, he's more ECW than a lot of ECW wrestlers still working today (Aside from Masato Tanaka). I thank God he left the fed for AEW because without him they wouldn't be where they are today, and I'm also glad he fought his demons and is still rocking as he did before. Jon Moxley is the best."
[7.0] "Never was the biggest Jon Moxley fan but he can be a good wrestler when he's not blading every other day. He comes off as someone trying to be a tough guy. His promos are decent."
[5.0] "I was never really a fan of Dean Ambrose or Jon Moxley. He was a good fit for the Shield, but could never really leave the shadows of Reigns and Rollins. He was consistently hovering around the mid and upper midcard. His matches in WWE were mostly decent with a few really good singles matches here and there. But the most memorable ones always seemed to be in Tag or multi man matches. His mic skill were decent, but kinda felt too monotone. Jon Moxley has been a mixed bag so far, and I don't think that will change. He reinvented himself and is more of a deathmatch garbage wrestling kind of guy. But it just feels way too forced imo, and he does things that rub me the wrong way. Every Mox match feels the same were he bleeds in matches that don't matter much. He keeps no-selling moves which just makes his opponents look like shit. I just don't buy his toughguy persona. Really the only positive thing I can say about him is that he's always there if the Company needs him. But then again, it feels like he's way too overprotected in his booking."
[7.0] "I would rate him higher if he would stop bleeding every match. I get he is a hardcore wrestler, but he will take a backdrop and somehow come up bleeding with a crimson mask. Lol"
[5.0] "I liked Dean Ambrose more than I like Jon Moxley. And for the people who are gonna say "but they're the same person" no they're not. Dean was entertaining and funny and could actually go in the ring and on the mic. Moxley on the other hand is a complete tryhard and bleeds in every. single. match. It's so annoying. I don't think Jon Moxley will ever be on the level he was on in WWE again. He's too washed up."
[10.0] "Undoubtedly the Ace of all Pro-wrestling in the 2020's. Moxley makes the wrestling landscape feel so broad and connected through his constant appearances in the American indies and taking dates in Japan whilst he main events on national TV every week. He is up there amongst the upper echelon of pro-wrestling mastery amongst likes of Terry Funk, Jumbo Tsuruta, Ric Flair, Stone Cold Steve Austin++. Put Moxley on any card and he'd likely be the MOTN. Though his time as Dean Ambrose flopped due to creative in the latter years, it's also crucial to note his run in the Shield. He anchored them through his smooth, natural charisma and legitimized the faction beyond just the weekly beatdowns and crazy brawls. The best wrestler in the world as of this comment."
[4.0] "Update. I had him a bit higher, but had to reevaluate after listening to some more promos and interviews. He is a ridiculous - as in - a comical - individual. Not only is he totally unbelievable in the ring, it is painful to try to listen to this person. He tries to act like a tough guy - but not as a joke! Not only as a gimmick. Instead as if he actually considered himself being one. He is not doing the Macho Man schtick, with a raspy voice and insane behaviour. Macho was great, believably roided up and coked out of his mind, he could actually hurt people. Most of all, he was actually interesting- intriguing. Moxley sounds like an Emo kid, trying to impersonate a tough rebel kid in front of his 13 year old peers. (Puts on a raspy infantile: Moxley voice) - Yeaah, I smoke dropped cigarette butts that I found, I swear and spit and the other day, I argued with my teacher - yeaah - she is stupid and I took my older sister s skateboard and totally like scraped my knee. Look, it was totally bleeding. Yeeah, I am that cool.- And all the neighbourhood kids from 8 to 10 would be so impressed by him. The only way Moxley can hurt you, is to bite you, scratch you and potentially give you hepatitis. You would be more frightened of an old lady yelling profanity and swinging a cat in a dark alley at night, than of Moxley. He looks ridiculous, not impressive looking at all, no athleticism, his fake tough guy faces make me cringe. He is sort of like Road Dogg, if Road Dogg was ever pushed into the main event. Except that Road Dogg is without a doubt way tougher, without trying. But his overrated verbal skills and total lack of anything interesting when it comes to in ring skills - that is what these two have in common. Comparisons to SCSA are totally ridiculous, he is no stone cold - his gimmick could be Lukewarm Jon Moxley, at best. Austin had a presence, if he looked at you sideways, you would feel it, he looked tough and to this day, I actually believe he was tough and could take care of business, even without any amateur background. Because he looked like he could. Moxley on the other hand looks like a guy that collects abandoned shopping trolleys around mall parking lot (not that there is anything wrong with collecting shopping trolleys, but I would not wanna watch it on my TV)."
[8.0] "Very professional and dependable worker. Doesnt get involved in drama. Has been the backbone of aew. Very believable and an excellent brawler and big match/group worker. Had a great showing in the G1. Has some habits that need reigning in like the blading on camera and some tightening of worked punches in brawls."
[8.0] "Jon Moxley is a really good wrestler wherever he went either it be in WWE or in AEW. His wrestling style is really interesting since he is that violent S.O.B who would throw everything at you and has an affinity when it comes to striking. For me, I do feel like his matches have gone repetitive and has the apparent need to bleed in every match that it does not make any sense to me. He had a better range of arsenal in the WWE, he is still a very solid worker though when pushed. His promos are good and passionate but that is all I can say about it and his mic work has gotten stale since he keeps talking about violence after violence like we get it. He still does a better promo than 80% of the AEW Locker Room though. When it comes to characters, he has nailed every one from his days in WWE and to AEW. He is very versatile in that category and I usually enjoy his character work. He would be a 9 if his matches varied from time to time and if his promos is not repetitive. I still do think he is one of the best AEW has to offer."
[7.0] "i used to love Moxley. but his selling has gotten comical, and his live promos are still too rushed, and now he seems to be above any criticism despite warranting more criticism than at any other point in his career. he still has talent and is obviously over as rover, but watching him can be rough some times. I never thought in a million years that Roman would be the best member of the Shield by 2023."
"I've always enjoyed Moxley in AEW. He has the feel of a star to me, from his entrance, to his ring presence and his dominance over most opponents. The way he's always been there for the company through thick and thin, helping carry it through the pandemic era and then stepping in twice when Punk threw his toys out the pram is class. When he instructed fans to "enjoy Punk while you can" and pointed to his fragile ego and body he couldn't have been more spot on. Definitely a class act, regardless of what James E. says."
[7.0] "Ask anyone from 2016-2020 Jon Moxley was my favorite wrestler I popped when he won the WWE title and he did some amazing work, But as rating him now in 2023 He is just ugh I don't know what happened, He looks out of shape and does the same shit every mouth, I was really interested with BCC now they are just generic heel team Kind of like a rip off suzuki gun, Moxley used to be my favorite wrestler I know he is older and such but I want 2019 Moxley back he was a megastar."
[6.0] "As Ambrose, he did little for me and was actually a bit off-putting with how heavily he played up being "unstable" and "crazy" in such childish ways, but upon first freeing himself of WWE's limitations and becoming Moxley once again, he really became quite an entertaining performer, since he gained notable size and acted like a truly grumpy bruiser with some endearingly sloppy and quite brutal-looking offence, and his promos became a lot more engaging because he'd basically wing them and speak right from the heart. Unfortunately, Moxley has sort of become a parody of himself the longer that he's been settled in AEW, since basically all his matches are the same sorts of excessively bloody, sloppy strike-heavy brawls, and his selling and general displays of fire have become quite comical. I still appreciate the few times these days where he's able to maintain that same rogue, pissed-off, carnage-obsessed brawler attitude that he initially liked to project, but it's harder to take that seriously when he now frequently looks so goofy and unserious with the way he executes and sets up so many of his moves, plus how on-the-nose he constantly tries to play up his "TOUGH BADASS" side, to the point it feels clearly forced. And despite being in love with death matches, he often still fails to do the important part of them: actually SELLING the damage of those crazy spots, which can make those matches feel like mere showcases and nothing to be taken more seriously in terms of overarching feuds. Moxley is definitely still a nice contrast in character and style to the other top stars in AEW like Omega, Page, and MJF, but I think he's become far too complacent and happy to just coast by, hoping fans will only judge him based on his far stronger previous performances compared to all the far sloppier and generic ones he currently puts on these days. It does make me wonder whether he's always been this limited and I was just blinded by how superficially different he felt when I first saw his 'Moxley' persona back in 2019, or whether he truly was hard-working back then and just gave up in the years that followed."
[2.0] "I think I only ever liked Moxley when he was with the Shield. Even then, once the group disbanded, he was a wannabe tough guy but at least with intense/believable promos. However, he lost all credibility once they made him the champion. I don't think he has the potential to be any big company's biggest star, but somehow they managed to make him the top guy in at least one promotion. At least while being the champ they could have control on him in the WWE but since he got freedom in his matches and promos in AEW it has become appearent that Jon Moxley is absolutely rotten both in the ring and on the mic. I'll give him credit tho, despite having the skillset and mindset of a trashy deatmatch wrestler who works in front of 10 people in a bar, he has managed to make a lot of money. I feel bad tho cuz I've always thought this dude had something special about him but he has managed to destroy that image by being horrible at everything he does in or around a wrestling ring."
[2.0] "One of the worst wrestlers in modern american top promotions. Constant no selling, fake badass mentality, controversial creative solutions. Outlaw mudshow garbage "wrestler" who for some reason became one of the most popular wrestlers. 1 point for not bad half of the year run in first half of 2022, where he is had good matches in indys and in AEW, and 1 point for his time in WWE, where he is unfortunately got a lot of his popularity, they even gave this dude a World title, if not his run in WWE, he never would be any higher in pro-wrestling hierarchy than his beloved hero Nick Gage. Do I mentioned that he is really sucks at wrestling? He seriously does. New rating system really wants me to mention this again. He is definitely do not deserve his spot in modern pro-wrestling. Period."
[6.0] "Moxley isn't that great in all honesty. He's viewed very favourably because he was the first guy in a long time to get out of the WWE system despite not having anywhere concrete to go, and to be fair to him he carried AEW for a while in 2022 when everyone else was shitting the bed around him. But nothing about him is brilliant; his promos are very hit and miss and his mannerisms are a bit off-putting. His in-ring work is has regressed, he doesn't even sell, his bumping is just drop and roll, and the forearms are especially egregious. I don't care one bit for the deathmatch stuff either but personal feelings aside, he continues to be influential."
[8.0] "For a brief moment in time, Dean Ambrose seemed like he was going to be the real breakout star of The Shield trio. Once he got that world title, it was too much too soon and the cracks began to show. Ambrose was an amazing communicator, lot of natural charisma, solid ring-work but he never really found his footing and seemed awkward. A strange interview on The Stone Cold Podcast and furious Brock Lesnar later, Ambrose was no more. Enter AEW, Jon Moxley was free to do whatever he wanted and the world was at his finger tips. He was a solid champion, certainly had a rugged old-school NWA look to himself. The promos and segments were fantastic, again Moxley never disappoints on the microphone. Where things go downhill for Moxley is his own infatuation with death match wrestling. The likes of Terry Funk, Cactus Jack and Atsushi Onita were all naturally talented, they never needed gimmick matches to be loved by the audience. Once Dean Ambrose was born and Moxley made it to WWE, he really didn't have to sacrifice his body anymore for cheap thrills. In other words, Moxley is naturally likable, and seeing him bleed every week on Dynamite becomes depressing. True WWE is controlling and creatively daft at times, but deep down we all know Moxley deserves more than being cut up night after night. 8.8/10."
[10.0] "Jon Moxley represents everything AEW is about. The truly heart, soul and spirit of the company alongside The Elite. I feel they wouldnt have accomplished 30% of what they did without him. He is a money maker, and give everything in ring. Long life Jon Moxley. The Workhorse."
[3.0] "Jon Moxley is the most overpushed wrestler in the current landscape. Sells nothing. Has garbage matches. Wants so bad to be a bad ass, but always makes a fool of himself. Bleeds in meaningless matches. I get a kick watching his matches nowadays, because is so self-indulgent at this point, it becomes funny. Sometimes can land a really good promo, but this current heel persona with the BCC is just bad. EDIT: Spelling mistakes and changed the score a bit. He's a star and very reliable, even if I'm not a fan of his current work. There's something special about him that could make me more a fan of his work if there's some tweaks, but he's not for me and I'm OK with it. I can see why he's got a strong fanbase."
[8.0] "Originally, I thought he was the best of the Shield trio, now I'm not so sure. His matches are fun, but rely too heavily on blood and weapons. He's a good promo, but doesn't have the same wild vibe he did a couple years ago. He's still one of the best guys out there, but something is missing. He's also never had a killer finisher, which hurts him as well."
[8.0] "Moxley is solid in ring and works the crowd well on the mic. The hardcore deathmatch gimmick is cool, and he's a big success story switching from WWE to AEW. He's a main eventer."
[10.0] "Let me start off by saying its mind boggling how much Moxley has improved after leaving WWE. Im not a fan of modern WWE, & I wasnt a fan of him as Dean Ambrose. Wasnt a fan of his character or his matches. It wasnt until I saw his debut match with Juice at BOSJ Finals where I thought; damn, this dude might actually be special. His G1 ended up cementing it for me, & hes only gotten better since. Has a very unique style. Hes more akin to old-school brawlers like Funk/Hansen/Brody, but with the style, philosophy, & psychology of modern puro. Add in some ground game/submission work, & thats a style thats VERY entertaining to me. Also has great stamina, & just enough athleticism that allows him to do things with work-rate guys that brawlers of yesteryear couldnt do. Throws stiff puro forearms/elbows instead of outdated worked-punches, so thats a positive in my book. Love how hes using blood the way it used to be used, the way it was meant to be used; back before WWF destroyed the territories & brainwashed a generation. Uneducated fans often mistake fighting spirit as no selling. Hes the embodiment of fighting spirit. Thats one of the reasons why hes so loved in Japan, and why him & Ishii are basically wrestling soulmates at this point lol. If you dont watch/understand puro, youre missing half of what makes Moxley who he is. Overall, Mox is one of my favorite guys to watch these days. Great promo, great character work. His 2019, 2022, & now 2023 have all been amazing in-ring. Best American brawler in decades."
[6.0] "Simultaneously overrated and over hated, Moxleys was mistreated in WWE, and has had a good AEW run ever since, carrying the championship belt during the company's early days. His overindulgence is violence is completely uninteresting and is only an average worker by today's standards. I want to like Moxley more, but just can't."
[9.0] "Great wrestler who can do it all. His first run on the indies was very good. Starred in brawls in deathmatch wrestling. Then he became a member of the Shield and had his first great run. WWE did not know what to do with him after the Shield and he had a lot of inconsistent booking and bad storylines until he had that horrible one with Seth Rollins that led him to leave WWE. He has been the rock for AEW with his great charisma and presence plus generally stays out of the drama that happens there. Great veteran wrestler who can do it all."
[10.0] "One of my favorite wrestlers of all time and my favorite shield member. He is Stone Cold of this generation and the greatest aew wrestler to this day. His brawling, hardcore skills and charisma is so special. He deserves more recognition."
[7.0] "a good promo, solid but not amazing in the ring, bleeds constantly and is protected like hogan was at his peak, he's fine but I am not a big fan"
[10.0] "He is a workhorse who had matches after matches since his return from rehab, He is reliable too as no one got injured from him. He has carried the company on his back when "you know who" almost ruin AEW with his whining."
[8.0] "I want to rate him very highly for the sheer volume of work he does and his professionalism. He's a good promo, he has a distinct and consistent character, and he always build up his opponents during a feud. But as much as I admire many aspects of his work, there are a couple things that bug me overall. His wrestling style is limited to really only brawling, which puts him down a tier when compared to the handful of top guys who can wrestle five star classics in ANY style. He sells poorly. His character work is maybe a little TOO consistent, to the point of redundancy. But most of all, he needs to LOSE MORE, and lose cleanly. He is far too protected, and I cannot understand why. Vastly superior in ring athletes like Danielson and Omega lose, or have lost, many times in comparison."
[10.0] "I was a fan of his as Dean Ambrose but didn't always love the way he was portrayed and his in-ring style often led to some boring (in my opinion) matches in WWE. However, he has really shined as Jon Moxley. The freedom he's given in AEW really allows him to shine both as a character and in the ring."
[6.0] "In wwe he was good for a bit, the shield were obviously great looking bad it was weird he was chosen to be the leader, in Aew he carried on from why he became stale and boring in the wwe except this time bleeding every match"
[2.0] "Overrated af. You just can't take seriously a guy who isn't capable of delivering a decent match without bleeding every single week. The difference between Roman Reigns' and Seth Rollins' development, and Jon Moxley's, is brutal. Unfortunate, because I always had faith in Dean Ambrose becoming a top guy in WWE."
[4.0] "One of the most overrated wrestler of all time. The more time goes by, the more I've soured on his work. His offense is dull and phony, his selling is bad although his bumping is pretty good. His penchant for bleeding in almost every match is eye-roll inducing. His character work is forced and cringe. He's not a good talker at all and has only gotten worse as time goes on. Not factored into the rating but I will say he is also ridiculously overexposed and is booked as an almost invincible monster when he shouldn't be. He deserves that fishing trip that CM Punk robbed him of. I think a break could do wonders for him and my perception of his work."
[8.0] "Jon Moxley I first saw as a member of The Shield as Dean Ambrose. He was the third best talent of that stable. He then showed up in AEW and really hit his stride. I find some of his promos as a "tough guy" kind of laughable. He comes off as a guy playing wrestler and fighter rather than actually being one. Had some terrific matches with Kenny Omega, but I don't ever feel any sympathy for his character, . even when I'm supposed to..."
[10.0] "THE guy. Proper man. Reliable, great worker, loves to bleed, carries a huge company and clearly just loves to wrestle. Thankfully, he's great at it. Echoes of Stone Cold."
[8.0] "JON MOXLEY (NJPW) - 9.5/10 , JON MOXLEY (AEW) - 8/10 and DEAN AMBROSE - 8. 5/10 . Dean Ambrose had superb mic skills, one of the best in the business and really good in-ring ability. He was never really the guy in WWE and was underutilized but he didn't falter when he was given the spotlight. In 2019, after his WWE exit, he repackaged himself as Jon Moxley whose debut in AEW and New Japan created a lot of buzz. In particular, I loved his entry in New Japan , he brought a fresh form of wrestling and violence in New Japan, had excellent feuds with the likes of Suzuki, Archer, Ishii, Juice Robinson, etc and he gave some of his best perfomances in his short run at Japan. His run AEW run has also been good but I definitely liked his New Japan run a lot more. In AEW, he had good feuds with Mr. Brodie Lee, Omega, Jericho, etc., formed a new stable BCC but his gimmick and match style has become repititive and quite stale."
Hervorragende 9 Punkte!"
[10.0] "The MVP of the year, in my opinion, held a lot of cool matches, plots, pushed many wrestlers up, did not spare himself and pulled the company at a very difficult moment for her. Maybe sometimes he overdoes it with blood, but he does what he knows best"
[6.0] "Incredibly dedicated guy for professional wrestling, but his style of being as artificially distinctive, coupled with decidedly excessive bleeding, makes him usually not a wrestler that I would gain my sympathy for. I'm glad he's doing what he loves, but in WWE with a little more freedom he would be even more interesting as Dean Ambrose."
[9.0] "Moxley is a badass. He has such an intense persona. He is brutal in the ring and does outstanding promo work. I respect him for walking away from WWE to better develop his wrestling character, and he put AEW on his back when he got there. Moxley to me is always a main eventer whether he headlines the card or not."
[10.0] "Moxley took a while to grow on me, but after his program with Mr Brodie Lee he became the best part of AEW. He's an excellent worker. He's also maybe the best storyteller in AEW-- his promos really draw me in and give him strong, deep characterization. He's not a bombastic character, but he's better for it-- he feels more real and relatable than a lot of the other guys in the sport. He can wrestle different styles and make a good match out of it, and is second to none in character work. Over the last year, he's solidified himself as the absolute bedrock on which AEW is built, and is in the top tier of wrestlers in the world"
[10.0] "Moxley is a fantastic wrestler who is well versed in many styles, and can mix it up with any opponent. He is best known as a brawler, but he has a solid technical wrestling game, and he tells great stories in the ring, through his body language and facial expressions. Mox is one of the best currently going."
[9.0] "Going back to the indies and going to AEW is the best thing that's ever happened to him. Seeing him before he left the WWE salivating at watching GCW "Bloodsport" was a headscratcher to me, since he was never that sort of wrestler - either technically or brawler wise. But since then, he's taken on a completely different shoot-brawler mentality that really works with his advancing age. The real "Elite" of AEW is Mox, Bryan and Kingston, by miles. I really wish Tony would have realized that during 2022 when his "stars" were injured. Huge miss opportunity."
[10.0] "This man is on pro wrestling Mt. Rushmore for me. Mox has done it all, from WWE Triple Crown Champion to being the first 3x AEW World Champion. I also love his deathmatches against Nick Gage (specifically the one at Fight Club 2021 and Homecoming 2022). In the Shield, he was the best member of the group, and in the BCC, he became quite the leader. I love how devoted he is to this sport, and I love his promos. He continues to serve as my inspiration today."
"10.0 Jon Moxley is the reason I started watching and paying attention to wrestling again. He lives and breathes it. I appreciate his dedication and love knowing he is such a big supporter of other wrestlers, especially those just staring up. His book, MOX, brought tears to my eyes more than a few times."
[10.0] "My favourite wrestler of all time. Before WWE, he had a good indy run with memorable matches against the likes of Nick Gage & others like that. In WWE, he excelled in the Shield but never seemed to breakout in the E like Seth & Roman did. Since leaving WWE however, Jon Moxley has become one of the most popular wrestlers in the world with a huge number of incredible matches against the likes of Tomohiro Ishii, Minoru Suzuki, Nick Gage, Kenny Omega & Will Ospreay."
"A very solid 7 who I used to think was a 5, so I think that means I am complimenting him. I never would have thought id like dean ambrose. I never thought he deserved his push or the attention WWE gave him but in AEW id say he's a good hand as JR would say. Although I don't like him as much as TK. But his feuds seem effective."
[6.0] "He was way better when he was a part of the shield. He had a great unhinged character now his gimmick is blading when a lady bug lands on him. His match with Effy was a total joke too."
[10.0] "In WWE, he didnt look like all that, but post-WWE, he IS all that. This dude is literally a global superstar. He is such an excellent brawler too."
[9.0] "Jo Moxley has had an absolutely phenomenal 2022 ever since he returned from his rehab, his matches in AEW, New Japan, GCW, DEFY, Wrestling Revolver, and the like have all varied from fun technical matches to insane deathmatches, and while i can say he is over-reliant on blading and the hardcore style, those don't really hold him back to me, he can still have a great technical match like the ones he had with Penta and Lee recently, overall one of the best wrestlers of th year, might go down at least in the top 10 wrestlers of the 2020s so far"
[6.0] "Slightly above average. Can have a good match but is too reliant on blading and brawling. Has one style he excels at but isn't technical, in ring psychology is ok (reliant on bladijg), and needs a technical wrestler to carry him in bigger matches that stand out in his career."
[8.0] "Moxley I think is more than just a hardcore guy. But... that's what he views himself as. He is limiting himself when he can do so much more. No Mox, I don't need you to bleed every two weeks. You are capable of so much more. You have the presence when you walk to the ring, you sound as real as possible when you talk, and when you want, you can do more than braw- He just fucking bled again"
[10.0] "Mox is the best he's ever been in 2022, the most reliable man in AEW, the heart and soul of the company and someone who will still go perform a death match with Nick Gage or complete in Josh Barnett's Bloodsport because he's just a fighter through and through. He's been doing some of his best promo work ever this year as well. How could you not love Jon Moxley?"
[6.0] "It pains me to say this but Jon Moxley has become quite exposed in my eyes. Moxley is a prime example of WWE being right in reigning in Moxley's worst impulses. The gratuitous amount of blood, promos bordering on parody, and sloppy work with strikes you could park a car between, Moxley has either gotten lazy or this is who Moxley truly is. Not that Moxley was ever accused of being the most polished worker even in the Combat Zone days, his turn to MMA style looks really bad. When Moxley first left WWE there was some understandable resentment as one often has with their former employer. However, the shots at the E have gotten old and tiresome especially when it feels like everyone is doing it up and down AEW's roster. Not to mention some of Moxley's choices outside of the company have been embarrassing to the business (vs Effy in GCW). This is disappointing because I truly do like Moxley. I believe he possesses a unique charisma that made Shield whole and helped to generate his buzz on the indies in the first place. As previously stated, however, Moxley is someone who needs to be told no from time to time."
[9.0] "Jon Moxley is currently the MVP of the year in 2022 (followed by Will Ospreay). This freaking guy has bangers after bangers each time he wrestles a lengthy match-up. He's also excellent on the mic and is crazily charismatic too."
[9.0] "Mox has unparalleled charisma and presence in the ring. Makes every match feel bigger than it is. Tremendous brawler and master of plunder matches. Does he bleed too much? Perhaps, but I don't think it's to the detriment of his matches. At the moment he's having an incredible run, up there with when he first left WWE. Mox is always a highlight."
"Jon Moxley is very overrated. I like a lot of the things he TRIES to do, but many of the things he actually does are cringe. Recently, he has been booked to basically be unstoppable through normal means. No wrestling move will put him away seemingly no matter what. This is bad for wrestling btw if you didn't understand that already. He also blades his head for no good reason almost every single match he is in. It's not like the old school where you might get busted open from punches or because the fight is so intense and you get hit with something when the ref is distracted or whatever. Moxley intentionally cuts himself blatantly, cutting on spots where he doesn't get damaged in such a way that blood would make any sense for the story. Recently he sliced his own ear after an earring pull. He bladed his forehead deep vs Tanahashi after Tanahashi stomped on his neck and chest area and then gave him a slingblade. He has been bleeding on a weekly basis for months now. He simply likes to cut himself open. That is not pro wrestling, that is garbage wrestling. Moxley's look kinda looks like a plumber. His actual work in ring is generic and nothing to sing praises for in my opinion. It really is like he's doing plumbing work, cleaning pipes of feces. Going through the motions. The absolute best thing about his presentation is his entrance, which is a combination of his WWE character and the ghost of Atsushi Onita cosplaying as Stone Cold Steve Austin. If Moxley had half of the physical charisma and entertainment factor of Stone Cold Steve Austin, maybe AEW could draw a million viewers to watch his matches with undercarders and fellow plumbers like Mance Warner. 5/10"
[6.0] "As a wrestler, Jon's match quality is really average. Most of the high-quality matches need to sell blood, and occasionally some prop matches are not bad, but that's about it. As for character charisma, that's it."
[10.0] "Moxley's 2022 has been incredible. He makes his opponents look fantastic and has been doing it in many different promotions with a remarkable consistency. Number 1 wrestler in the world right now."
[5.0] "I wish I could like this guy. As a person who watches AEW, it would make my life a lot easier. But I just don't get it. If I weren't a wrestling fan, I would imagine most wrestlers as guys pretending to be tough guys. That's what Jon Moxley comes off as- a guy pretending to be a tough guy. He's just not convincing. I didn't watch him in WWE which I think is the real deciding factor here, but what I did see of him during those years was an even less convincing fake tough guy. His promo is fine but if it goes on too long it's obvious he's a phony, and at this point in his career they're going to give him carte blanche so as soon as he opens his mouth my eyes have rolled out of my head. He's capable of some good looking wrestling and decent drama, but a lot of the time going in or out of spots looks so disconnected, or rushed, or something. His repertoire is ok, but several of his signature moves, like the elbows to the chest, look phony or contrived. However, I've seen him execute quite well here and there so I don't know what to think. Most of the time it's not good, and a lot of the time he's bringing the level of his opponent down which is a huge minus in my book. I wouldn't be as critical of him if people didn't think he was the shit, and that includes not only internet wrestling fans but how he is booked and presented. I also think he's ok enough to put a belt on for a few months, but does not have the credibility to consistently win against legit contenders. People make the stone cold comparison, but stone cold was always pissed off in kind of a fun or funny way, this dude seems like your dad who quit smoking two weeks ago and is a sour bitch about nothing all the time. With a different gimmick and more consistency or vision in the ring, I can see liking this guy. I can see that he has charisma, but like wish.com charisma in that it only works on certain types of people. All around a mediocre and overrated wrestler that bums me out every time we walks out of the crowd (that's dumb also). C- promo, C worker, C+ look. A real tough guy doesn't constantly need to prove to everyone how tough he is."
[10.0] "(One of the) Best in the world after leaving WWE. Wilder, stronger and completely capable to do any type of matches. 1x AEW World Champion, 2x IWGP US Heavyweight Champion and current GCW World Champion. It is completely unbelievable that he is only 36 years old, which means that at least we still have other five years to continue enjoying his prime."
[10.0] "Jon Moxley is The Man. Since 2019, he has come into his prime. What he has done between AEW, NJPW, GCW, Bloodsport, and every other promotion in between is a total Smash Hit. He has the natural intensity, fiery promos, believable badass charisma, and a knack for in-ring storytelling & psychology with incredible pacing. He has delivered banger after banger against a variety of opponents everywhere and has been having great feuds as well. What he is today is a far cry from what he was in WWE. Which proves just how held back he was. My God, has he been unleashed now. He is building a legacy right before our eyes. He feels like a cross between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Terry Funk."
[9.0] "In terms of versatility, believability, charisma, promo skills, in-ring work, consistency, Mox is very easily in the conversation for wrestler of the year. My only criticism of him at the minute is that he's held the GCW championship hostage for a little bit but I think that's more to do with his other commitments and GCW's generally lacklustre booking over the past couple of years - when he does actually step into a GCW ring, he's more than happy to mix it up with the lighttubes, barbed wire and blood like he would've in CZW over 10 years ago so I can't fault his effort. Would love to see him have another run with the AEW championship at some point in the future."
[9.0] "Mox rules. It can sometimes easy to miss just how much he rules, despite his loud and violent tendencies. He doesn't have the flashiest style and at a glance, his promos feel samey, but when it comes to in-ring psychology, he is deceptively brilliant. Match layout and progression, the ability to get himself and his opponent over in nearly every match he does regardless of outcome is something to behold. Young guys like Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia, and Shooter Umino all are reaping the benefits of Mox association right now. Mox more or less has one promo, but it's a very good promo and he carries with him an energy that is in some ways like Stone Cold's, but just different enough to not feel like a clone. He's not perfect, but he's real damn good and for my money, the best guy from the Shield."
[10.0] "I love his brutal rebel style, he tells amazing stories during matches whether it's a casual match or a hardcore fight! He is a very inspiring wrestler and no matter what company he performs in, he shows chic charisma anywhere and in any image that makes fans support him."
[9.0] "Moxley, despite his inconsistencies, is a great brawler and smooth worker when good. When bad he can be a slog to get through. His best work has come in FCW, his run in The Shield, his NJPW G1 run, and recently in the Blackpool Combat Club. EDIT 6/8/22: Moxley has been on the run of a lifetime and has entered himself into the WOTY conversation for 2022."
[10.0] "He? s been simply amazing since leaving WWE. Still has his moments, but overall Mox is great. His offense is sooo much better in AEW, and he? s also far more charismatic and enjoyable to watch. Has had great matches with a plethora of others and elevated plenty of new talent like Yuta. Perhaps my favorite wrestler in AEW aside from Danielson right now"
[0.0] "Moxley has gone from a guy I was not a fan of to a guy who actively keeps me from watching shows he is on. That was fine enough when he was only in promotions I wasn't going to watch anyway, but him having the GCW belt and essentially removing it from the company is a total nightmare. He's not a good "shoot" style guy because he's not a real martial artist, and he's not a good deathmatch guy because he barely does them. His entire act feels like a fake tough guy mixed with wannabe Onita impressions without an ounce of the charisma. He has absolutely become my least favorite major wrestler and I can't wait for the day he drops the GCW title."
[10.0] "I always found him to be the most entertaining of The Shield and his mic work and promos are almost always great. His ability to have a great match continues to get better as well and seems to have improved a lot since leaving WWE. While he was good to great in WWE he has really found himself as a top star in AEW and found a freedom he didn't have before. His ability to connect with the crowd as well has always been great. In WWE that can be difficult in this day and age but he had a connection with the fans and it continues since he left. His match with Ishii has become a personal favorite as well and while I don't think he's the best at anything he's great at almost everything."
[9.0] "Years ago I gave him a low rating because he was incredibly bland and complacent in the wwe. Nothing he did interested me and I wasn't even excited for his new ventures after leaving. Now in 2022 its safe to say Im eating all the shit in the world for it and love this man. The motivation and feeling put into his matches nowadays are on a completely different level and Mox is now one of the only american workers I give a shit about. Good on him for turning it around and not just resorting to the standard "well I worked in the wwe so I dont need to change myself" shit other guys have decided to do."
[10.0] "How can I describe Jon F'n Moxley? A chaotic outlaw that does whatever he wants. His explosive strikes and violent maneuvers that echo in any ring. His cool walk with either "Shitlist" or "Wild Thing" playing. He is just the embodiment of cool. If he's in WWE or AEW or even GCW, he is the fucking man."
[9.0] "Dean Ambrose / Jon Moxley is for me the typical fighter who always looks with those manic, strange, extreme characters, like Mick Foley and others, only this one focused on the character on duty, even so it has never seemed to me that it was from the best but I think he is one of the best in wrestling characters."
[8.0] "Moxley has an undeniable "cool/badass" factor about him, similar to guys like Kevin Nash, Scott Hall or Stone Cold you just take a look at him and hear him talk, and you are convinced he is awesome. However, despite his undeniable charisma and star quality, I don't consider him an all time great, at least not yet. His matches range from great brawls to odd stinkers, as while he is usually dependable for a great match sometimes there's matches that looked like a slam dunk that came off as "meh". You can't solely blame WWE booking for that, he was like that on the independents at times as well. While he has had very few bad matches, he is yet to have any all time classics that you can really point to and call a defining match. I also think a lot of his wrestling looks kind of weak. His impactful moves like suplexes and DDTs look good, but for a brawler his striking looks awful a lot of the time, not even looking like it comes close to connecting. Overall, an undeniable star, but not one of the all time greats. I can't rate him lower than an 8 though, he has that rare it factor that is unteachable."
[8.0] "An undeniable star, and a cornerstone of AEW even in absence. Held down the main event scene in the Daily's Place era, producing lots of crowd-pleasing tags over the year. His best was with PAC and Fenix vs Omega and The Good Brothers. His Kingston pairing looked good but wasn't brilliant in the ring, and his New Japan rivalries generated consistent interest. Of course his 2021 will be remembered for the Barbed-Wire Deathmatch. Has a great aura, some of the most captivating stage presence in wrestling today."
[7.0] "Dean Ambrose' Terrible wrestler, can't stand him, complete waste of a roster slot. Jon Moxley' One badass sob who will pick a fight with anyone who gets in his way. Yeah, his in-ring skills have never really been all that, but you have to give the man credit for figuring out a character that works for him by going back to his root. Oh, and his mic skills have always been good."
[6.0] "He's good, I see the appeal, but he's not for me. He has the hardass, drinking, slightly crazy antihero persona which I can see resonates for the older male crowd. Mox cuts a mean promo with presence and charisma, but I just don't care for his character or what he represents, it comes off as cringey and a bit forced for me. I also find his matches very boring unfortunately."
[6.0] "Jon Moxley is one of the most overpushed and overrated wrestlers of the last twenty years. He is somehow super popular and pushed in every promotion despite not being anywhere close to one of the best. Has had good matches like with suzuki and ishii but nothing special. He's a decent midcarder"
[10.0] "An amazing overall peformer in the American Wrestling scene. Dude can play any role effortlessly. Loved his WWE title run in 2016 and also his amazing AEW title run in 2020. One of the top cemented guy in AEW. Fucking love this bloke"
[10.0] "I think his jump to AEW and NJPW secured this guy a place in any hall of fame of pro wrestling. He bet on himself and it paid off big. He was the missing piece AEW needed from the start: a guy that chose to leave WWE and had unrealized potential there. In New Japan he proved he could hang with some of the best wrestlers in the world, and in AEW he proved he could be the guy."
[4.0] "One of the most overrated wrestlers of all time. Can't wrestle effectively or play a tough guy act, his matches lack vigour and intensity. I have no idea why he was given a WWE title reign and I'm glad AEW took him off my screen."
[4.0] "I am honestly dumbfounded as to how 'Bitch AF' Jon Moxley has been as successful as he has been. It's honestly impressive how someone who can't even manage to throw a convincing knee strike or forearm can be a multiple time world champion, so fair play to him for knowing how to maximise his career far beyond his actual merits. That takes real talent. But with that being said I feel the need to say that Jon Moxley has to be arguably the single most overrated wrestler of an entire generation. The main thing that really sours me on Moxley is that he presents himself as this legit tough guy but then everything he says and does in the ring makes this act seem like a laughable parody. Firstly he is meant to be a good promo, and I will admit that the guy does have decent charisma, but when he actually cuts his promos it's as if you are listening to a speech from a high school drama student who has been told to by his teacher 'play a tough guy' where he comes out with all these fruity lines that no person would ever say in a real life situation, such as "One day, they will all come to my funeral just to make sure that I stay dead, but today is not that day. I'M ALiiiiiiiiiiiiVVVVEEEEEEEE! " Then you get to his actual matches where the real fun begins. The guy's offense is let's be generous here and say mediocre, it never real lines up with his tough guy act but it is serviceable. His real problem comes down to his selling because for whatever reason this guy is only able to sell like a comedy jobber with the goofiest facial expressions I have ever seen any wrestler make and it never fails to make me and the guys I watch wrestling with burst out into laughter every time he is on the screen, it literally makes a bigger mockery of the business than anything the Young Bucks could ever dream of doing, it's really a sight to behold but in spite of that he is able to make it work somehow. I have no idea if it is just due to deteriorated standards or what but again I have to give props to Moxley to being so successful even in spite of himself. Also, on a side note, I just want to throw out that wearing a single earing in the left ear is sign that straight-acting gay men use to signal that they are gay. I am not making any kind of speculation here, it's just something I sometimes think about when Jon Moxley appears on the screen."
[6.0] "Very overrated better than Dean Ambrose in WWE, his promos are always good and has a great connection with the fans just not a very good wrestler"
[10.0] "Jon Moxley has been my favorite wrestler in America ever since he debuted in AEW. If you ask me, Mox is the total package; he can wrestle a good match against basically anyone, he's charismatic as hell, he's either the best or second-best promo in the company, and now he has the coolest damn entrance in wrestling right now. All I can hope is that he keeps it up!"
[4.0] "Still awful than the Dean Ambrose time in the ring but better with the mic. He's probably one of the most overrated wrestler today and unfortunaly he is still push as a top wrestler of his company but he has no talent to be in the main event spot"
[9.0] "Arguably the hottest property in wrestling right now. He is showing up everywhere and is at the helm of wrestling's bounceback from COVID-19. Wicked on the microphone and intense in the ring, he has proven without a shadow of a doubt he has the wrestling ability to stand toe-to-toe with anyone in singles matches, having come a long way from being the beatdown victim in his old trios matches with his Shield teammates."
[9.0] "Love Mox's intensity, his matches are always fun to watch as 2 people beat the piss out of each other. As a wrestler, hes not the best ever, but as a brawler and a spectacle hes up there for sure"
[3.0] "Molasses slow malcontent. For a man in the ring, he is very poorly endowed and lacks girth. Lean Ambrose lacks in physicality and for years dressed like balding loser in early middle age who still wanted to be perceived as cool or a rebel. More than any other undersized modern wrestler, he pulls the ring out from under any effort to portray realism in the ring. He was Shoved down our throats in AEW and WWE as some sort of cheap Roddy Piper knockoff. Offense and punches look kinda bad. Stamina and wind are questionable. Doesn? t hesitate to blame Ring and promo psychology failings on others. Was given 13 minutes of phony baloney offense against Lesnar at Wrestlemania and looked like a complete buffoon. When match didn? t get over, lamented that Brock didn? t blade like it was a Starrcade at height of AIDs epidemic. Obviously being a lockerooom lawyer has paid off, as he finds himself in premier roster slots. But when the chips are down, he needs to be carried to good match and rarely delivers."
[9.0] "After he left WWE he really proved himself, whereas others have usually taken some time to find themselves or adjust to other companies/scenes, he jumped right in and went full speed ahead and it absolutely paid off."
[10.0] "Jon is living the wrestling dream right now and is the hottest thing in wrestling, don't give me that "iTS hEEL rOMAN" bullshit or I'll smack you one you jabronie mark. Roman isn't working New Japan and drawing dimes or attacking Nick Gage, that's Jon Fucking Moxley."
[10.0] "His moveset may not be the most impressive , but he more than makes up for it with his sheer brutality , if you are more into flippy shit , he won't look so impressive , but if you are more of a deathmatch guy like me , you know this dude is amazing ... But he can still have some great matches without objects ."
[10.0] "By far the biggest star in AEW in my opinion. Moxley just carries himself like a major star with confidence in a way no one else on AEW can. While maybe not the best from an in-ring standpoint, he makes up for it with unreal charisma and possibly the best promo work in wrestling. No one has benefitted more from the creation of AEW than Moxley. I also prefer his New Japan work even more than his AEW work, even though we haven't really seen him there since the pandemic began. Moxley in NJPW gives off vibes similar to the likes of Stan Hansen and Terry Gordy in AJPW."
[10.0] "The best in the world. Perhaps not in workrate, but he is the total package. He can wrestle multiple different styles effectively and can talk circles around most on the mic. He is a star, plain and simple."
[9.0] "Not since Dwayne Johnson let "Rocky Maivia" die and Steve Austin chucked "The Ringmaster" in the trash and named himself after a room temperature cup of tea has a wrestler so completely turned around his fortunes. Dean Ambrose had enough charisma to keep himself at the top of the WWE heap, but management's inability to comprehend him ultimately made his gimmick "Deathmatch guy who can't get anyone to work a deathmatch. " As the reborn Jon Moxley, he has become, simply put, the greatest star in the business right now, a mega-money draw in America and Japan to the extent that at the time of this writing there is a strong chance that the most significant interpromotional era since '90s joshi is going to start almost solely because three of the four biggest companies are so desperate to get his shine. And in a wrestling scene that has become increasingly homogenized by staid formulas from both puro and sports entertainment, Moxley is a square peg bursting through a round hole, energizing New Japan and giving AEW a grit that it otherwise completely lacks as it quickly settles into being a better-written WWE. His matches aren't the technical, athletic wizardry people now expect. They're chaotic, violent ballets that bring the best out of heavies and push the new generation to their limits. And he manages to be funny as hell and a compelling promo. The only reason I'm not rating him a 10 is because it remains to be seen how long he can keep this up and just how significant the long-term impact of his current moment in the spotlight will be. Don't be surprised, though, if he becomes a hall of famer."
[10.0] "Guy has caught a lot of imo unwarranted hate in the last year, he's pretty easily the best overall package of all the shield guys since Rollins got back from injury. Ambrose might not be the smoothest worker, but he's been involved in more good matches than almost everyone in the company within the last year. Keep in mind that he's been the most worked guy on the roster for several years straight, which is probably why he's taking it easy in some of his smaller matches. He's got more charisma than just about anyone bar Nakamura & Cena, has a unique look, and is one of the best promo guys in the industry."
[9.0] "In WWE he only looked above average and he sort of looked like he was trying to remember spots as he was doing them. I thought he was given decent chances and pushed well and then he wrestled for NJPW in the G1 and looked like a completely different guy. His two lights out matches in AEW solidified that he could brawl. He is not the best in ring but has good intensity and strong promos."
[6.0] "I was never that high on Dean Ambrose in WWE, while I thought he can have a good match I wasn't a fan of the character. Watching Jon Moxley in AEW is weird because it's the reverse, he is fantastic at promos but refuses to go beyond garbage wrestling."
[8.0] "Moxley has improved greatly in 2019/2020. In WWE, I couldn't see him as a great figure, even when he was a World Champion. The best thing I remmember from him there are The Shield and Rollins feud. He just seemed like a good upper-card wrestler, but not a Main Eventer. In AEW however, he showed his true colours. He himself raised the prestige of AEW World Title to greater hights. His charisma, mic and character work are far better than they ever were before. Sure, he's not the best in the ring. but that doesn't stop him giving us the emotional masterpieces (example. match versus Eddie Kingston)."
[7.0] "I'm rating him based on his work at AEW. He has grown on me a bit towards, hopefully, the end of his title reign, but I find Moxley to be a bit boring. That's just me personally though as I do like what he brings to the company character-wise; as a tough brawler he is unique and adds a lot to the personality of the roster. I think he should talk less, as his promos usually go on too long and repeat themselves; his actions and body language are great though. Some of his more recent costumes (camo pants) are ok, but he generally looks pretty plain. He definitely should not have pinned Lance Archer the way he did, a table spot would have been much better, but I suppose that's nothing to do with his rating. He has had some good matches; but again I sometimes find them to be a bit boring. I also think the Paradigm Shift is an average at best finisher."
[9.0] "By the time Moxley came into the WWE system he was considered a deathmatch legend and and indie star as a whole. I don't have any frame of reference beyond hearsay as I only seen a couple of the deathmatches from this area. Then he was slotted in the Shield and was the "third" Shield member as in they did not have real plans for him after the group broke up. He lost motivation towards the end of his run in WWE due to silly gimmick changes. After leaving WWE, however he has left his mark on New Japan and AEW beteween giving the rub to new talent (e. g. Shota Uno and Darby Allin), good matches in the G1, and his AEW championship run."
[9.0] "Great brawler and hardcore wrestler. Always been a fan of Moxley so to see him get even better since leaving WWE makes me really happy for him. He has great mic skills and the aura of a star."
[3.0] "Jon Moxley as Dean Ambrose (2012-2013) was top notch, that guy gives me hope for the future of WWE, but when he began his single run i started to dislike him in some aspects. In 2016, he bored me to death, even while feuding with a tremendous wrestler like AJ Styles. After that, i couldn't really watch his matches without gets bored. When he arrived on NJPW i started to like him again, even his debut on AEW was really good, but then he started to becoming a fully GIMMICK wrestler, and that's sucks, because he can't have a good singles match, can't carry anyone and his persona is too overused nowadays, it maybe could worked 10/20 years ago, maybe. Overall, Jon Moxley can cut a hell of a promo and put anyone over with the mic, but when he wrestle... well, you know. I really hope when he commeback to Japan he wrestle more often and with a top worker like Okada, maybe he can be saved of this predicable AEW run."
[6.0] "I don't really see what's so "it" about Moxley. He was a very meh champion in WWE, not having the best of matches and being kinda sloppy in terms of ring quality. Ever since then he's been in NJPW and AEW, and I still can't see what's up. He can cut a good promo and can have a great match with the right person, but most of the time his stuff comes off as trying too hard to push the lines of where wrestling ends and when spot monkey antics begin. His scrappy style doesn't do him any favours and he's sometimes too hokey in his mannerisms, which takes you right out of the match. His style isn't dangerous or anything, but it's not exactly reliable either. He's not the kind of guy to be capable of carrying another guy less talented than himself to a good bout, and his match quality is too inconsistent for him to be in any high spot."
[9.0] "Moxley was one of my favorite wrestlers from 2011 to 2014, but it seemed like after that Seth feud in 2014, his work became a lot more dull. He had a good match here & there, but he never got that same consistency he had back then, and even his promos weren't all that captivating. I have been super stoked to see him regain that fire in this post-WWE run, and he quickly reminded me why he was one of my favorite dudes to watch in the first place. Easily one of the top wrestlers in the world right now for my money."
[9.0] "That video package of him escaping prison (aka World Wrestling Entertainment) was as raw and exciting as a video package could possibly get. Damn, Jon Moxley is the truth! Moxley was waiting to show everyone how entertaining and edgy he can be as a wrestler once he got out of WWE, and he was already a great wrestler while he was there. Once he got out, Moxley went to New Japan and AEW, then put on some entertaining wrestling matches with some of the best wrestlers today. He has arguably the most talented professional wrestler when it comes to his character, promo, and natural-heel energy, and all of those matches and promos proved that. Example? When he was hyping the match between him and Joey Janella at Fyter Fest, he said "It is going to be Amazon Prime for head trauma". THAT WAS A FREAKING BOMBSHELL OF A REFERENCE. The only reason why I am giving him a 9/10 is that his most memorable matches since leaving WWE have been either hardcore stipulations or highlighted by him using a weapon. Can he have a great match or even a classic match without using weapons? I am not too sure about Moxley's work rate, but I am sure he is going to prove his work rate at some point as AEW Champion."
[9.0] "Dude is awesome, yes he did come from WWE but I don't care about that but he is a great champion in both AEW and in NJPW the guy is revolutionary (apart from Gargano of course) I hope to see him soon in back in Japan but for know as a great AEW world champion. Moxley went through a shit WWE heel run even though it was executed amazingly when he actually turned heel, I can also see him having a feud with Lance Archer again and also having a feud wwith Cody. Jon Moxley would eat Dean Ambrose alive! Only problem he seems to be in the same kind of gimmick though like a "I'm a lunatic and i'll kick your ass! " kinda thing, But I do hope for the best for him and be a great husband to Renee Young :D"
[6.0] "I didn't see him at all in WWE or pre-WWE. It's been almost a year since he left but it seems he's stuck working the "300 matches a year, gotta be safe" WWE style. I can't believe he's as over as he is in Japan. He has the absolutely shittiest looking knees and suicide dives I've ever seen; the strikes don't even come close to making contact and he's basically upright when he goes through the ropes on his dives. The strikes are especially glaring when he's working in NJPW. Super charismatic on the mic but I don't really get him."
[8.0] "Moxley has reinvented himself after leaving WWE, as is now one of the most badass professional wrestlers on the planet. His promos have become much better as is his match quality."
[8.0] "In more than a way John Moxley reminds me of Mick Foley: his offense is junk, but he's just so good at getting beaten into a pulp, getting back on his feet and fighting back. Like Foley he's absolutely amazing on the microphone and is adored by fans because just like Mick he's an amazing person who gave everything for pro-wrestling. Where Moxley is different is in fact he was born with the "it" factor: he's got that weird aura around him that will get you instantly behind him. I hope in AEW he will be allowed to reach his true potential: as great as The Shield was it was just one chapter in Moxley's book and we are ready for bigger and better things."
[4.0] "Incredibly boring and overrated in WWE. Returned to the indies where he is also underwhelming and overrated. Hasn't had a good match in AEW, had a fairly uneventful G1, and has yet to impress me in any capacity in NJPW."
[10.0] "Ich mag sein aktuelles Outfit sehr. Erinnert sehr an Jon Moxley.
[9.0] "My favorite shield dude. Since I saw him in the shield, I quickly became his fan. His promo is really good, even great. His in ring work, while far from the best, sometimes sloppy, but is still good overall. I guess that the booking from WWE prevented him from being 100% motivated. Since his departure from WWE, I have enjoyed his work more. Of course, his offenses still need to be improved and look really bad at times. But the thing I appreciate here is that he put more effort into his match, storytelling, the way the match was laid out. The Juice matches or Shingo, Ishii, even Taichi bouts were a lot of fun for sure. Hopefully, this trend continues in the future."
[8.0] "As Dean Ambrose, he wasn't a very good worker and he wasn't booked as a lunatic. But Moxley has been a killer putting on great matches almost every night during the G1 and his character work and promos have been god tier. Him and Shooter have also been great together."
[8.0] "It's a shame that WWE creative is so terrible because I think the Ambrose character could have been something special. I mean... even now he was very good, but he could have been even better. Being kind of off his rocker & unstable in that Brian Pillman loose cannon sort of way. I think there was a lot of potential nuance with that character that was never fully explored. As Moxley, I do not find the same level of nuance to be there. He's good & I'm excited to see where he goes, but he's one-note. Just straight brawling with a pissed off demeanor. Almost all of his NJPW matches have looked identical thus far. Pre WWE back in CZW he was more than a standard ultra violent worker, which is clearly why WWE found him appealing to begin with. He appeals to the crowd well."
[8.0] "I was wrong about Jon Moxley, I thought that he was just an lazy-ass motherfucker, but now, he's only a motherfucker. He improved a lot since he left WWE, he's making a helluva G1 Run. I hope Harold & Gedo buy out his AEW contract, 'cause I really want him full-time in NJPW."
In- Ring (7, 5/10); Charisma (5/10); Ausstrahlung (3/10), Mic- Work (8/10) und Gesamteindruck (5/10). Insgesamt gebe ich ihm 5, 7/10 ? 6 Punkten."
[9.0] "Dean Ambrose was a good wrestler who was not given the opportunity to show how entertaining he could be. Jon Moxley is one of the best fighters in the world, he proved it against Tomohiro Ishii, Juice Robinson and even Taichi. He's damn entertaining to watch and his WWE release was a liberation."
[9.0] "7 for his WWE work and so far from what I've seen in NJPW a 9. 5 his match with Ishii will be called a classic for sure. give him a 8. 75 rounding up to a 9"
[9.0] "After leaving WWE, it's like he came back to life. He had a solid match with Juice Robinson, something that I've never seen in WWE. he's angrier, you can see he put all his passion in the ring, and his character is straight up savage. I'm really looking forward to see him in G1 Climax"
[8.0] "Great technician and well-rounded if you let him use that style. Sometimes his ring work is beyond good and that's not how he works. Lacks energy sometimes and doesn't have that much impact when you don't give him a storyline which could work. Great to use in match stipulations because of his deathmatch background. Also, he's a mic-skill god."
[10.0] "I am a big fan of Dean Ambrose. I love his 2015-2017 run as the lunatic, and his feud with Seth Rollins was gold. "What? Its for charity" will be one of my favorite quotes from him. His stuff with AJ Styles was gold too. He went from chasing the WWE Championship to essentially helping James Ellsworth win it. His run with The Shield in 2018 was kinda sad, and if injury didn't derail him he wouldn't be leaving this year and he could've kept The Shield going."
[8.0] "I don't really get why people hate on Ambrose so much, what's so bad about him that makes him worse than anyone else? He's a good brawler, has very decent technical wrestling skills, when he's allowed to show off that side of his character, excellent on the mic (the best of The Shield no doubt) and is very charismatic and can connect with the fans. I understand he has limitations, but so does everyone else. I don't get why he gets so much hate, maybe it's because of his shady and violent past or maybe because of his very unispired ring attire, but either way, I will admit I'm a big fan for Ambrose. Virtually everything wrong with him is WWE's fault. I very much enjoy his matches, although I will admit that some of his matches has been complete duds. He is apparently leaving the company in April, and I will miss the guy dearly. So much lost potential here."
[8.0] "The best ? realistic? character possibly in WWE after CM punk departures. The best character in wwe right now and his ability to do promos and angles in un-belivable. Lunatic , realistically disturbed Dean Ambrose stole my heart since the first Shield? s run. I thought when he was in shield that he was the best of the three and the most likely to become the top dog of the three. The evolution as single competitor was unbelievable, his run against seth Rollins at first, Roman Reings after and his matches against the like of Dolph Ziggler were very enjoyable with his dark side that helped him to have great feuds against the like of bray Wyatt or innovations match like the one against Chris Jericho at Extreme rules 2016. His title Run in 2016 wasn? t the best thing ever but he had anyway great matches against the like of Aj styles or John Cena or Dolph Ziggler. Now his heel turn on seth is a great way for mixing up things and recreating the Lunatic persona that now on wants to stay alone against anyone, giving him new Breed and probably projecting him into the best period of his carrear. He also had great times before WWE as John Moxly. As a in ring Competitor he is not the best he is some kind of monotonous but as a character, a promo master, as facial expressions and for everything he stands for he is probably the best ? gimmick? produced from 2012 to nowadays in WWE."
[8.0] "He's not the best in ring wrestler, his style is very different from what's trending now and sometimes he feels like a fish out of water, but his character work is amazing, I had doubts over his being a babyface but for a three years he's been the most over babyface of the company, and I definitely felt good when he became WWE Champion because he really deserved it a lot for the hard work he does, he often wrestled twice per week, because everybody loved him, he was a top guy. After his long injury I feel like turning heel is what's best for him and they're finding ways for him to be booed loudly, as well as unleashing his limitless potential as a bad guy, his new look fits his new persona and I can't wait to enjoy him as the baddest guy of Raw."
[6.0] "Dean Ambrose is a great example of how even the best talents can be watered down under the WWE system. WWE's Dean Ambrose is the homogenized version of the Jon Moxley that was tearing it up on the independent scene. Moxley-lite, if you will."
[10.0] "This man went through a tricep injury and was out for almost the whole year, and came back with a shaved head, and looked absolutely JACKED! He definitely looks more heel now, its like WWE is trying to make it super obvious that he's gonna turn heel. He's gonna do the run with The Shield first, which I'm ok with, because it will build overtime. After that, who knows where he'll end up."
[2.0] "Sloppy and boring in the ring, no charisma at all, cliché gimmick, very overrated. His facial expressions are very uncomfortable to watch. If I ever liked a match of his, it was a tag team match - in tag matches, I can handle him. In singles matches, not that much. Not the best seller, not believable at throwing punches. There are probably many other reasons why I just can't stand this guy."
[8.0] "I think Dean Ambrose is trash in the ring but I like him. I think I am a fans of his despite the fact that he is a sloppy brawler because he is really good at the other aspects of being a wrestler and that is being able to make a connection with the audience through charisma and being able to sell matches through his mic skills."
Also erstmal eine 7."
[4.0] "He really needs changes. He became a really boring. It's sad he wasmy favorite two years ago. He has a charisma, he had a great mic skills but wrestling skills leaves much to be desired. He can be like Steve Austin but WWE don't give him a chance to get this spotlight maybe that's why I think so. I hope he will heel turning in the future."
[7.0] "Ambrose is a weird case for sure, hes a fine wrestler, his reversals are always quick and crisp and hes a great talker, but hes just missing that special something that turns a star into a superstar, aside from his rivalries with AJ Styles and Seth Rollins I can't think of one of his matches that I would rewatch, it may be his babyface persona or just that hes been going non-stop for 3 years, thats my general consensus, good but not great."
6 Punkte. ---EDIT: Umstufung da er echt langweilig wird. -1= 5"
[7.0] "Prime example of how FICKLE wrestling fans can be, although booking wise has not helped him (WWE 101) when he first showed up in the main roster with the shield, people were high on him and some labelled him "future world champion" great talker when lef to his own devices and is good in the ring when his with the right opponent but when Seth went on to become "the future" and Roman was selected to be the "Next top guy" dean was left mostly in the midcard as a comedic babyface. All of his title reigns have been meh to bad due to not defending it enough or matches that didn't deliver and his wrestlemania match with Brock Lesner did ALOT more harm than good. If anyone needs a reboot and a heel turn its this guy"
[7.0] "He is not neither really good or bad, but his in ring is ok but i think he can't really express his true skills because most of his career before wwe he was doing deathmatches, maybe he need to train more on "regular wrestling" or maybe he doesnt belong in wwe , personally i like his gimmick but i understand why some don't and i think maybe its because, like i wrote it before , he can't express his true self and so instead of being a "hardcore wrestler" he's just a "wannabe hardcore wrestler""
[8.0] "[Wertung 2015:] Sein Nachname sagt bereits alles "Good".
[6.0] "Dean is that wrestler who needs a stypulation like Extreme Rules match , Hell in a Cell etc. to have a good match , otherwise there are boring and looks the same. For a midcarder is pretty good anyway."
[10.0] "One of the best wrestlers on the mic today. Sadly Ambrose is limited by his booking too much, but the second he turns heel there's no doubt he will steal the show and all the people that turned on him will praise the guy again. Ambrose has been the biggest workhorse in WWE for the past 2 years and I hope he gets the good push he deserves and goes to become the main event level heel that he is capable of being."
[6.0] "Since the days of being in The Shield, his gimmick and matches have become much more boring, looks like he doesn't care in his matches, and his promos are my LEAST favourite. However, if he's with the right performer he puts on decent to good matches"
[5.0] "Langweiliger Hampelmann.
[7.0] "Ambrose is super in-tune with the crowd and knows how to work a good wrestling match, I just wish he would learn to lay his punches in more and work with some intensity. A lot of the times he displays no sense of urgency or realism."
[6.0] "Ah, Deano. Something went wrong because this guy was a decent wrestler years ago, not to mention an amazing promo, swimming in a pool of charisma! Now he's just "wacky" and okay (promos are still good). I guess WWE does that to people - makes them average."
[9.0] "The most reliable person in WWE. Can be funny, can be serious, is a very underrated technical wrestler, is a good brawler. His punches are a bit too fake looking but otherwise he is very safe and reliable in the ring. Can cut some incredible promos especially when allowed to be serious. Could make a really disturbing non-PG heel if WWE let him."
[9.0] "Uncle Deano's sure one heck of a dude. If we're purely talking about the technical aspects of wrestling, he doesn't really stand out. However, it's been proven time and time again that Ambrose is a very safe and reliable worker. The one thing that puts him above the rest is his character work. In WWE, he portrays this wacky, loony weirdo who doesn't seem to know what fear is. Some might find Ambrose too weird or wacky for their taste, but that's really what Ambrose is. Regardless of what some fans might think of him, Ambrose has been able to stay very popular with the WWE faithful, and is surely going to stay popular for many years to come. Hopefully though, WWE allows Dean Ambrose to turn heel and show the fans his true talents. After all, his work as Jon Moxley is regarded by many to be even better than his current work as Dean Ambrose."
8/10 (25%) Charisma/Statur/Gimmick:Leider total Uncharismatisch. 3/10 (25%) Sind dann insgesamt 6, 75 Punkte für The Lunatic Fringe. = 7 Punkte"
[8.0] "Ambrose is a quirky cat. In CZW, he was insane with death defying matches and one hell of a promo. His aggressive, wild and true to self persona helped him capture quite a following in the indie circuit. When he was scooped up by the WWE, he was set debut with Mick Foley in a hardcore based food but due to Foley's medical issues that was a nope. Debuting as part of the Shield, Ambrose instantly stood because he had this charisma and quirkiness that you couldn't deny. Since breaking off from the Shield, his big moment finally came in 2016 beating Seth Rollins to win his first world title. Ambrose had a strange 2016, mainly a underwhelming match with Brock Lesnar brought him criticisms for being lazy, and his world title reign wasn't the best. Ambrose is a main event talent but he seems better as the guy who chases for the belt, rather than has long reigns. Ambrose isn't the purest technician and his offense can be quite contrived but he his selling and brawling make him worthy of his spot. Currently an Intercontinental Champion, Ambrose is still firmly entrenched as the co-#1 face on SD Live, and still in look of a signature Wrestlemania moment."
[2.0] "Ahhh. The world we live in. He would have been Joe Turco in Bruno's day. He would have been Mike Sharpe in Hogan's day. He's good on the mic. His gimmick is kind of unique. He can wrestle a little bit. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for him. But he's little more than enhancement talent, who got substantially over pushed. However in today's world of spot wrestling, with AJ Styles as champ, nothing surprises me."
[9.0] "If You've had the pleasure of seeing Dean Ambrose live you'd know why cm punk called him " our secret weapon " back in 2012. He has tremendous charisma which just makes you root for the guy so when he wins you're really genuinely happy and when he loses a big match you feel his lost. It's because Dean is that damn good, he is not the best wrestler in the company right now but he's the mvp in terms of dependability. Just look at his matches with aj or seth or kevin he's great it's just the iwc turned on him once he called himself "the dude"."
[9.0] "Although he isn't the most technical wrestler, Ambrose is fantastic anyway. Great wrestling psychology, great charisma, and perhaps most importantly, he knows how to get over. It's sad how indy smarks started hating on him as soon as he won the title, where his reign was terribly booked, but in my opunion he's easily rebounded since then. His matches with Rollins, Triple H, Owens, and Styles shows that he is truly a main event caliber wrestler."
[9.0] "Man, WWE needs to let this guy show his potential, he's really a very good wrestler. but if you keep him and limit him as a 'crazy guy that does agressive attacks' it's too obiously he's gonna have bad matches. just watched his match againist AJ Styles, what a match! great submissions, good moves, good mic, charisma, attitude, can run his gimmick. he's a total package."
[4.0] "Rarely do I see this guy have a great match nowadays as he seems to be a hit or miss type of guy for me. Was tremendous in developmental but ever since hitting the main roster he just seems there in a way. Had a few great matches with Rollins, Styles and the last man standing match with Owens but otherwise I just don't get into his style as it doesn't flow well most of the time."
[10.0] "This guy is simply great. Everything what he does is awesome and well executed, his matches are very good when he doesn't play 'lunatic' during the matches and his promos are just pure gold. Truly one of a kind wrestler."
[8.0] "Great talent. Horrible gimmick. This guy can carry so many feuds with great promos, even though his matches can sometimes be sloppy. Hopefully, the creative changes his style at the moment and he becomes the guy to look up to again. He really needs much more. Update: He really needs a heel turn. ASAP."
[8.0] "Few gave zero for Ambrose/Moxley because of "limited move set" and some other childish stuff like that. Those really bring this site down. Apparently you haven`t read the rules either, because it says you should not comment on a guy if you don`t know him well. And people how know Moxley from hes matches in Dragon Gate or CZW know that he is a very good worker and a excellent heel. Besides only in WWE alone the guy has been involved in countless 4+* matches with many of them being singles matches. if we use this site and "match quality" as an example. Do you people understand that Ambrose is working a gimmick and move set given to him by creative and backstage agents? Part of that involves him wrestling in jeans and clumsy boots while doing minimal amount of conventional things that would seem not suitable for hes persona. And besides; when has the rating been only about what moves a guy pulls off in the ring between the bells? Based on charisma, showmanship and communication with the audience alone Dean is a PRO and him having zero points makes no sense. The general naive IWC geekiness of people thinking they know something about the business in some of the comments is just.. as if talent is determined by some totally irrelevant things. There is many different styles to wrestle. Not everybody does the same stuff or catch-can spots as Zack Sabre Junior and hes friends. What really determines if someone is a good worker is; can you work with other people, charisma/character: can you draw attention/sell tickets and can you keep up the illusion of having a fight in the ring (with the help of athletic ability, selling and psychology. ) Dean does all of those things and even with having to work a terrible watered down family safe "lunatic" babyface gimmick hes been able to do pretty good things and be unique even though hes character is maybe the most heavily under creative & backstage agents constant tampering. The guy is a prof"
[10.0] "The criticism this dude gets in here is just silly, Ambrose is a total package: great wrestling abilities, mic skills, charisma, look, character (well character is debated with him at times). He's someone I'd put at the top, and Mitch the Plant is watching with satisfaction."
[10.0] "Dean Ambrose Is really great. The only problem is the way he is booked. He is a submission specialist and technical wrestler ( go watch his old matches ) . He is really The Lunatic Fringe ( watch him in CZW ), but WWE doesn't allow him to do anything crazy. BLAME THE CREATIVES NOT HIM. If WWE lets him to be himself, he can put up a really good match ( WATCH HIS IRON MAN MATCH AGAINST ROLLINS )"
[0.0] "Very bad wrestler. While he can deliver promos and can defiantly talk on the mic, but in the ring he is very inconsistent and his move set is weak. The rebound clothesline is so stupid and every time he does it he no sells his opponents move. He really did not deserve the WWE Title. He is absolutely horrible as a babyface as well."
[7.0] "Dean Ambrose has a lot of charisma and is good on the mic. Their matches are a bit repetitive. however it is giving us a good reign with WWE world champion"
[4.0] "Pushed too late as the top guy. WWE should've done it while he was still hot. Even so I don't think Dean is the guy to hold one of the top spots in the company.. While he is decent in the mic his wrestling ability puts me to sleep.. basically he is p bad in the ring (awful elbow, that suicide dive ughh, and that thing he does in the ropes is just plain stupid)"
[8.0] "As talented as Ambrose is, I don't think he has lived up to his full potential. He has always had solid matches, but I never have felt his matches moving past the second gear. He is a solid wrestler, no doubt about it, but I have never really seen him go past solid in a match. Most of Ambrose's matches don't stand out to me, and they blend into one. I think in part it is a result of his weird booking previous to becoming heavyweight champion, with the constant losses, and the cartoonish aspects of his character. What Ambrose needs is a heel turn. While as a face he is entertaining, I have grown tired of him as a face. Ambrose's hardcore, lunatic fringe personality would probably work better as a heel now that he has been established as a champion"
[8.0] "Dean is overrated and since becoming champion its more apparent than ever. Dean has never really put on a great match and the lunatic they bill him as just isn't him. He doesn't know how to wrestle like a lunatic, everything he does looks soft."
[8.0] "I like Dean Ambrose's mic skills and ring talent, not so much his look. Maybe wear some other type of attire besides a wife beater and blue jeans...."
[6.0] "Ambrose is in a weird spot. For a long time, he was treated like a second-rate citizen by the WWE despite probably being at worst the second-most over guy in the company. Then he follows up getting squashed in a baffling and disappointing Wrestlemania match with a lackluster feud with Jericho, in which they were wrestling matches that were clearly designed to have them look like upper card guys, due to how much time they got, but which I don't think did either guy many favors on that front. And then with his momentum dead from two dud feuds, he, as the afterthought in a feud between his former partners, finally gets the belt that the crowd would've loved to have seen him win a year or so earlier. I think he's done well as a champion so far, wrestling decent matches and getting to let loose on the mic, so to me, he's halfway rehabilitated, but it's a shame that it had to come after six months of being uncharacteristically boring. I think Ambrose had a decent grasp of in-ring psychology, but sometimes he overuses the rebound elbow to where it becomes silly, and generally I find his offense kinda goofy and uninteresting. Can't deny the many great tag matches he's had, though, and despite him having wrestled Rollins a million times, they've exceeded my expectations several times, so he can definitely go. I hope him getting to shine separately from The Shield will let him prove that he's better than just "satisfactory"."
[6.0] "More they say what is good, than it really is. Among the three members of the Shield, it is the worst in-ring, but his charisma changed the whole game for him ..."
[6.0] "Great charisma and mic-skills. His promos are gold. But the main problem of Dean is the focus of his gimmick. I think that a lunatic personality doesn't fit very good on the PG era. It makes his booking very limited because of that. In-ring he is a decent performer, but not one of the best in WWE."
[8.0] "Dean is a very charismatic and highly entertaining wrestler. May be sloppy in the ring at times but he makes up for it with his charisma. Has the potential to become one of WWE's biggest draw in this generation."
[9.0] "ahh Dean Ambrose the best member of the sheild this man has all the tools to be the Best in the world right now he has the charisma the mic skills the in ring ability the height he has it all and wwe finally realized that and pulled the trigger on him its about time i say give him about 5 more years and he will be the best in the world"
[10.0] "What can be said about this guy? He is just awesome. He's very good in-ring worker, his mic skills are awesome and he's got so much charisma. He's just a great all-around wrestler. So happy to see him holding the WWE Championship, he deserves it. I hope the reign will be a long one."
[7.0] "Tendiere zwischen "overrated" und "not my cup of tea".
[10.0] "His work during The Shield days was beautiful. This is the real Shield leader. He had a great title reign as US champ. People like Ambrose or Tanahashi are born once in a hundred years. Casual fans loves him. Smark fans loves him. Dean had an attractive character back in autumn 2014 that looked like Austin 3:16... WWE missed the opportunity to give him a big push... Ambrose had a long long way to first world championship. Feuds against Rollins, Wyatt... This monitor... This PPV lose streak... Elimination Chamber... Roadblock... And finally! MITB 2016... He deserve it!"
[7.0] "Dean Ambrose has the potential to be a great character. His work in FCW and during his Shield days was excellent; he can be an edgy, vicious performer who's exciting to watch in any alignment. I strongly dislike his booking as a goofy "lunatic" who throws food at people; it undermines him as a character but I understand that's the writers' fault. When used properly, Dean's a very solid promo, and a magnetic personality. That said, and I feel like it's heretical to say this, I honestly think Roman Reigns has had more interesting matches. Granted, that's in part because Roman has been booked against some of the best wrestlers in the world -- Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles come to mind. Dean hasn't had those opportunities, but even in matches where he should have shined, he hasn't lived up to his potential. His matches at WrestleMania 32 against Brock Lesnar and afterwards against Chris Jericho felt oddly flat -- and there's no excuse for those tame matches when you consider the participants involved. I don't know quite why Dean fails to "click" with me, but maybe he just needs to get his edge back -- both on the mic and in the ring. Hopefully, now that he's gotten a WHC reign at last, the writers and bookers will allow that."
[8.0] "Deans has tons of charisma, is very very good on the mic and his a decent worker. His gimmicks could be awesome but more than a loose cannon it looks like a parody of himself. That drops Ambrose to the bottom of my less fav wrestlers in WWE but i can´t deny how good he is."
[7.0] "Very interesting on the mic , very interesting character , not very interesting in the ring . Even with all the hate Roman Reigns received, I can at least consider his two matches with AJ Styles, and the match with Brock to be really good. Dean Ambrose? Just can't find one."
[6.0] "He has a lot of charisma and easily connects with crowds. His mic skills are pretty good and he gets fully immersed in his character. His in-ring work is another story. He's a sloppy worker and his strikes are embarrassingly bad at times. I would expect him to excel in gimmick matches due to his CZW experience but even those matches have been underwhelming."
[8.0] "Eh personally I think Seth is the best member from the Shield. But Dean is good though some of his feuds are boring sometimes but that's mostly the creative team's fault."
[8.0] "With his unhinged brawling ring style, excellent promo work and portrayal of an intelligently-maniacal madman, Ambrose has sometimes been compared favorably to the legendary "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, and I think that is a fair comparison. He certainly brings something different to the WWE landscape, with a different style and different look, and with his past in deathmatch wrestling, is perhaps more willing to take extreme punishment than the average WWE superstar, which helps in his image as a guy who just won't give up. For whatever reason, thus far WWE hasn't gotten behind him quite as much as the the other two former Shield members, despite him being arguably the best all-around talent of the three, but at his age there's still plenty of time for him to fully carve out his niche."
[5.0] "I find Ambrose to be a bit maddening, while he is very much capable of having good matches due to his incredible workrate he is also guilty of being too much of a goofball with terrible looking offence and a habit of disappointing in big matches (especially when weapons are involved). It should be said that WWE have regularly squandered his push when he had heat but Ambrose has to shoulder some of the blame for losing said heat."
[8.0] "Possibly the most over of the faces in the company, barring a certain AJ Styles of course. However, doesn't quite fit the stereotypical wrestler that VKM likes, may well be fated to be the Bridesmaid but never the Bride when it comes to the Heavyweight Championship."
[10.0] "Please, WWE. Give this man the damn title for once. He has all the tools: the charisma, the in-ring talent, the mic skills. There's no reason this man cannot carry the whole company on his back and change the game."
[10.0] "TOP Der Man... Am rose goes WWE World Heavyweightchampion..."
[10.0] "Dean Ambrose is one of my favorite wrestlers of WWE, he has an immense charisma with the crowd, speaks very well on the mic and is very versatile in the ring, adapting to opponents easily."
[10.0] "Fans know what they are going to get with Dean Ambrose. He’s a sound worker and always delivers exciting action. When he isn’t wrestling, he’s proved to be one of the best promo men to emerge in the last few years."
[7.0] "One of my more favorable wrestlers on the current roster, Ambrose is the basis of what wrestlers should be today. A good dose of in-ring skills (people like to peg on his striking ability however, which I could honestly see why), extremely good mic skills and charisma, and a good character to be developed. I wish WWE would expand on his current character however, as I don't think Ambrose himself is given much freedom to expand on his character. It doesn't feel wholesome to say the least."
[10.0] "Anyone who thinks he is overrated is a straight-up ignoramus. This guy carried FCW for years with his amazing promo ability and great wrestling skills. The problem in WWE with him is booking and his given move-set that annoys most of the smarks. The guy is a complete package, can put on a quality match with anyone and always does well with gimmicks."
Indy Bereich keines Von Jon Moxley. Außerdem fand ich seinen alten Finisher viel besser. So gut er ist... Irgendwann will man dann mal sehen, was alle von ihm. halten.
Leitern, Tische, Cages, Reisszwecken - so was braucht er!
[7.0] "Poor Ambrose. Overlooked by some, underlook by many, he will go down in history as a huge missed opportunity if WWE doesn't change her plans for him soon. He is world championship material, no doubt."
[7.0] "Oh how far this guy has come. I remember watching this guy wrestling as Don Moxley on episodes of Velocity and jobbing to MNM back in 2006. This guy is easily the best member of The Shield and he hasn't had a long career in the WWE (just past 2 years) and we'll see how things shape up for him in the future but, right now? Dean has had a decent WWE career. His backstage segments with Doctor Shelby are hilarious."
[10.0] "What can be said about Jon Moxley, a. k. a. Dean Ambrose, that haven't been said already. This guy, I think is the best mic worker in the WWE today. If you haven't seen some of his promo work in the indies as a heel. His back story is incredible. The man can make you believe he is really crazy. I'm kinda still unsure myself to be honest. He can really take a bunch of punishment and is versatile wrestler. Great Brawler, Good Hardcore wrestler. He can be a technician when he wants to be. This guy has it all and like I said about Seth, he can be a top face or THE top Heel."
Sein Mic-Work: ausgezeichnet.
[9.0] "He can talk, he can wrestle, Dean Ambrose is the total package. So what has been going on with him recently. While Rollins & Reigns have been taking centre stage in WWE, Ambrose has somehow fallen to the mid-card. WWE need to fix this as he needs to be in the World title picture as well."
[9.0] "Dean is INSANE! He just keeps on going with his psycho gimmick that he has had for so long in the Indy scene. I hope he will be capturing the IC title from Bad News, I don't think he has WWE World Heavyweight championship material but he can easily get the Intercontinental."
[10.0] "The Lunatic Fringe! Wrestling from 2004 - 2011 as Jon Moxley, where he was a former CZW World Champion. Fast forward to the WWE, Dean Ambrose, a former United States Champion and part of one of the best stables of all time, The Shield."
[10.0] "ok here is why I Gave Ambrose 10 01. He is Entertaining 02. He is Entertaining 03. He is Entertaining 04. He is Entertaining 05. He is Entertaining 06. He is Badass 07. He is Badass 08. He is Badass 09. He is Badass 10. He is Badass That's it. He is Dean Ambrose. Suck it."
[10.0] "Anyone who thinks Jon Moxley isn't good doesn't really know much about what it takes to get to the top. This guy has good in ring skills, tons of charisma and I have never come across a more powerful superstar on the mic. The way he cuts promos is legendary. The Brian Pillman comparison is apt. This guy is destined for big things and I can't wait to see that happen"
[10.0] "Dean Ambrose!
[9.0] "I've been watching Dean (or Moxley if you'd prefer) since his feud with William Regal in FCW. While I did not think he would become as popular as he has, the truth is that Dean is an excellent worker, able to brawl or to force an opponent to tap, with exceptional promo skills. His character is somewhat limiting, but he is still excelling. He has been involved in many of the central WWE story lines in 2014. Hopefully he'll be a part of the main event picture for years to come."
[10.0] "This man is absolute great wrestler of combat zone. Most unstable lunatic fringe. I hope in close fututre he will be wwe world heavyweight champion!"
[10.0] "Ambrose is currently my favorite performer in wwe. He is without a doubt one of the best promo guys in wwe ever not just today. He can be funny, serious or crazy when it comes to his promo. His ring style is also great. he get the crowd behind him in almost all of his match because he fights with heart and gives 100%. It doesn't matter who his opponent is or if dean wins or loses his match will always be good."
[8.0] "This man is one of the few reasons to watch WWE programming. The guy's so far above what everyone else is doing in the WWE, in terms of wrestling ability and mic skills. Sure, Bray Wyatt may be a maestro of the microphone, and Dean's former Shield partner Seth Rollins may be the best up and coming wrestler on the roster today, but to have both skills combined together is something unique and special entirely. That's what Dean has. I sincerely hope this guy becomes a world champion. He is the Total Package (sorry, Lex Luger! )"
[10.0] "hes my favorite wrestler in wwe and my favorite when i saw him in the indies. he is so much different then any other wrestler when it comes to his wrestling, on the mic or even his character. everything about him is outside the box"
[10.0] "One of the most talented superstars in all of wrestling. Not only is he absolutely outstanding on the mic, but he's also a fantastic wrestler. Every time he cuts one of his promos, it instantly makes the show better. Every week on Raw, I look forward to seeing Dean. He should be in the main event for years to come. His fan base is huge."
Warum?
[9.0] "Fantastic wrestler that brings a lot of character into everything he does. Flawless ring awareness and psychology definetly help his cause in being one of the best in the company."
[9.0] "Mitglied von The Shield: Dean Ambrose! Ambrose wirds weit bringen! Moxley!"
[7.0] "Tall, great mic-skills and a decent look - Ambrose has all the tools for a nice career in the wwe. In the ring he is rather mediocre, but can be carried by a superior worker like Punk or Daniel Bryan to very good match."
In Ihm steckt sehr viel Potential.
[9.0] "Dean Ambrose is one of those wrestlers that appears to have the "IT" factor. He has the looks of a very young Shawn Michaels and the potential heat-gathering ability of Rowdy Roddy Piper. Whether he will live up to those expectations remains to be seen, but even now I see Ambrose as WWE Champion before 2016 or perhaps Summerslam 2014."
[9.0] "Richtig guter Wrestler.
Im "The Shield" Stable entsteht gerade was ganz großes.
[10.0] "The former Jon Moxley is just now hitting the big time in the WWE. After a successful run in such companies as DGUSA, FIP, CZW, and IPW, Dean Ambrose has arrived! Along with his counterparts in the silly named "The Shield", it will only be a matter of time before his in-ring talent and more importantly, his natural speaking talent, set the world on fire. Dean Ambrose is a rising star in 2013. Guaranteed."
[10.0] "Ambrose is everything the WWE needs for the future. If you’ve viewed his work in FCW or in the Indy scene, then you know how charismatic Ambrose was before Cole’s interview. Ambrose can get a crowd invested in his match whether or not he is playing the face or heel. In fact, fans at FCW ended up cheering for Ambrose, regardless of what side he was on. If truth be told, this shows that fans really appreciate his work. Can you imagine the feuds Ambrose could have with the likes of CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler? If booked right, they could be some of the best matches we’ve seen. Ambrose can have a good match with most. He might even have great showings against big wrestlers, such as Sheamus and Antonio Cesaro. It’s not a matter of if Ambrose can be the next top star, it’s a matter of when."
Klasse Mic Work und gut In Ring Skills. Wird immer und immer besser. Langsam kapiert es die WWE"
[10.0] "Right now, Dean Ambrose is a wrestler who has many people (Many people? Who are these people? ) talking. After holding the CZW championship for about a year, as well as the FIP heavyweight title at the same time, it's no question that he's an interesting and reliable worker. He recently made his debut in the WWE, and it is very exciting to see what he'll do from there, particularly now that he has become a polished gem from his time in FCW. His wrestling style is "old school" yet very refreshing. He was a brawler and a death match wrestler, and now he is a brilliant all-round storyteller with excellent ring psychology and he's a great seller. His promos demonstrate shades of Roddy Piper and Heath Ledger's Joker, and they have a Cactus Jack quality to them. At 26/27 at the moment, he really is only getting started, so I hope the writers don't mess up."
[10.0] "I've only seen Dean Ambrose in the ring the whole time he's been in FCW and he is pretty good in the ring but he's way better on the mic and he plays the part of his crazy, insane, wacked out character very well! It also amazes me how great of a storyteller he is whether he's having a match or talking on the mic especially recently in his feud with Seth Rollins! He's a very awesome storyteller and he's very awesome at getting major heel heat! Ever since he came to FCW, he's been really entertaining me nonstop! This guy is truly the real deal and WWE for sure needs to use him right when he gets called up eventually! Without a doubt, he can be an awesome top heel on the WWE roster!"
