"I find Joe Tess's commentary interesting! He doesn't have the uber-excitement, over the top "OH MY GOD! " ploy we've seen with the likes of Michael Cole and Jim Ross, but he is very thorough and his bluntness matched with Wade Barrett's over the top enthusiasm give Smackdown an edge over Michael Cole and nauseating Pat McAfee."

I simply don't understand WWE's obsession with hiring real sports announcers for not only pretend fighting, but a company that focuses more on daytime soap drama. He has the voice but he sounds robotic and without passion. He's clearly not a wrestling fan but the money is probably very good so he's willing to adapt."

But it seems like he genuinely no longer believes those comments. So that's water under the bridge for me. I remember thinking he sounded somewhat subdued on his first night. But hearing him some months after, I think he's come a long way in a short time. He sounds like a pro & isn't over the top with his yelling the way that Michael Cole is."

[10.0] "[5.00/5.00]: By far and wide the best commentator on WWE TV, has that memorable voice to seep in the match, while adding in tid bits without having to sound too snobish about it, Joe comes out as a natural human being telecasting the action than being a total dork (McAfee and Excalibur)."

First few weeks were a little off, but it is clearly his first time commentation pro wrestling. As time goes on, I don't see him being a perminant fixrue in wwe, but for now, I have no issues with him and he has my trust in commentation raw for the near future... plus, him on Raw means no Pat Mac anywhere in sight :)"

Hope he has a long tenure with the company, and I hope he's kept paired with Wade Barret, as their rapport is fantastic."

"I cannot get myself to get behind Tessitore yet. His commentary is awkward and it seems he often forgets he is supposed to do the play-by-play. His vocal tone is good for a commentator, but he just doesn't know enough about professional wrestling to be on WWE's flagship show at this point."

A majority of the commentators that have been hired to do their job on RAW haven't worked out; But I feel like this time around, WWE has hit a ball out of the park with Joe Tessitore. Joe has only been commentating on RAW for a few weeks and he has been killing it and doing phenomenal with his reactions and commentary work. His commentary of Jey Uso getting a crowning moment on RAW was epic and I don't think anyone (not even Michael Cole) could have done it any better than Joe did. I know Joe is only going to be on RAW until the year is over when RAW goes to Netflix but I hope WWE keeps this guy around and makes him the Smackdown play-by-play guy, he has proven that he belongs at a WWE announce desk."
