But inconsistent booking, lack of character depth, and underwhelming promos stalled his rise. While he wasn't a technical standout, he played the powerhouse role well and left a lasting impression during his peak. A solid midcarder with flashes of main-event potential."

His "Feed Me More" chant and dominant squash matches caught on with crowds for a time, but his limited in-ring skills and lack of depth on the mic quickly exposed him. WWE's inconsistent booking and his own attitude issues did not help. Ryback often came off as stiff and unsafe in the ring, which earned him a negative reputation among peers. He had a window to break out, but ultimately left more as a missed opportunity than a true star."

His failure to win the world title and issues with CM Punk killed his aura and he stayed in the midcard for the rest of his WWE career. Never really did much on the indies and now he is just a fun social media follow."

He really minded me alot of The Ultimate Warrior, he wasn't the greatest in the ring but he had charisma, fantastic size and could talk. I actually remember when he first popped onto the scene during the 4th season of tough enough and I felt even then he had talent. Now-a-days he's mostly known for his wild out-of-ring behavior and he's practically priced himself out of being booked by any indie promotion."

Its undeniable that he had charisma and when he was over in 2012, he was arguably the biggest wrestler in the company at that time."

Was incredibly unprofessional in regards to taking care of his fellow wrestlers, was awful on the mic, copied the RVD singlets because, again, he's unoriginal. Struggled to get over as Skip Sheffield, failed even harder during the Nexus, and got incredibly lucky as Ryback. Although, keep in mind that the WWE was so lost for talent around that time that they put hopes onto the likes of Curtis Axel... so it's not exactly hard to see how Ryback got over when guys like Curtis Axel and Fandango were being pushed hard."

Sure Goldberg may have been a terrible wrestler (like Ryback) but he had star power and intensity that Ryback nor anyone else could rival and he was my favorite as a young mark. Ryback lacks the charisma, athleticism and intensity although he was good in short bursts like a lot of bigger wrestlers did."

After that weird booking and a general loss of momentum made the magic he had in those years dwindle away, but he still had a solid run as IC champ and some fun moments in Rybaxel. Some weird moments online afterwards have left a weird taste for many."

Much like Goldberg (maybe to his detrament), Ryback was good in short bursts and multi-man matches whenever a match needed energy. He could lift big guys and he could chuck small guys. He seems to have come across as a moron since his WWE departure and that's clearly affected how people view his entire career."
Akatsuki wrote on 20.01.2024:
[8.0] "Yeah, kind of stole his gimmick from Goldberg & was at times dangerous according to a few wrestlers. I always felt like at the end of the day, Ryback did his job as a powerhouse guy who might not gotten any praise because what he brought to the table, that style of wrestling & look was starting disappearing in the WWE. If he was in the previous WWE eras like the Ruthless Aggression or Attitude Eras, I think he would have excelled more. I will say though, it is a little strange some people on this site have amnesia, Ryback was super over & I found his run interesting from late 2012 to early 2013. His peak was in the TLC Six Man Tag Team match teaming up with Team Hell No & facing The Shield & surprisingly his performance was incredible & booked properly as an unstoppable monster. On another note, he was a victim of the Nexus burial by Cena so maybe that could have negatively affected his career despite being one of the few guys who actually was able to do something after Nexus."

[2.0] "A very subpar wrestler who could barely ride a wave of momentum into mild notoriety. His work as Skip Sheffield was a very unmemorable & green run with a highlight being one of the most baffling catchphrases in wrestling, but then came his run as Ryback where short matches meant to build his mystique and ferocity quickly led to overexposure of his weaknesses. Even while working with some of the best in the company at the time, it was hard to drag a lot of good out of Ryback and it was hard to build him with so many major losses. Ryback just wasn't very good and didn't have much ability to make himself memorable, and by the time of RybAxel he just felt like a failed experiment. His best matches were always ones where he was surrounded by incredible talent and the focus wasn't on him, but when the focus was on him it just never felt like it worked out due to his in-ring performance or lack of natural charisma. Anything beyond a short burst was not very good and ultimately led to a short burst of a career in the long run. It's hard to look back on him fondly with his lack of memorable moments & matches."

He had a great look, good power moves and had the intensity to match (promos needed a lot of work though and that's probably why they stuck Heyman with him). I also remember liking his team with Curtis Axel. WWE really should have put the WWE Title on him when he was white-hot but it never happened. Ryback was a bit botchy at times (him breaking Punk's arm not withstanding) but that just comes with the job. Since leaving the fed, he's been very active on social media and to his credit, people enjoy the podcast he's doing. Do I wanna see him back in a major company? Not particularly. Do I think he'll come back at any point? Probably."

Breaking CM Punk's arm certainly was one of the most infamous botches made by Ryback, his ring attires also looked great. I actually like his YouTube streaming channel and sometimes I go there. I also do remember him spearing John Cena through the Raw Titan Tron and thought he killed Cena lol. Anyways yeah good look and size, but not much on the mic or in the ring."

Ryback had the look of a monster and played the role well as both face and heel. Unfortunately, attempts to make him that guy failed to take off, whether it was because of stop and start booking or because crowds didn? t take to him, Ryback never really lived up to his potential. That? s not to same he was a bad wrestler by any means. Ryback had a fun moveset and when paired with the right opinion could put on a great show. He also has an innate charisma to him that just sucks you towards him. Sadly, Ryback also had moments where he could be reckless in the ring and if what we? ve seen on the internet is anything to go by, Ryback isn? t the best person either. Ryback's feud with CM Punk and giant push around 2012-2013 was REALLY not for me. To me he was a somewhat better Ultimate Warrior, and he had similarly good character work. But overall I'm just not a fan. He got lame fast."

Solid 5 points."
