[10.0] "One of the best character workers in the ring that WWE have right now, and always has very intelligently planned out matches that fit both her character, and the story the match needs to tell. She gets a lot of emotion and character work into basically everything she does, she's great at showcasing fear, or excitability, or calmness, or frustration, with the moves that she chooses to employ and the way that she chooses to use them. For me it just gets me hooked into her matches, since it makes it really feel like you are watching a person rather than a grappling robot. Really solid in ring worker too, who's able to hit some fun offence and has a tonne of technical moves with various escapes and rollups and reversals. Definitely works best on the back foot in a match, where she has to find a way to overcome a more threatening opponent - I think her matches with Iyo showcase this better than anybody, but she's had great exchanges with a lot of people. I personally enjoy her promo's - I think she portrays her character as being very grounded and real, she does a great job of making herself a loveable babyface, and a sneaky and conniving heel. While I think she shines on basically all of her backstage promos, and usually comes off very well in segments involving other people, I think there is valid criticism around her ability to command an audience during her solo in ring promos, she could definitely progress more in that department, but it's a very small bump for somebody who is otherwise all around excellent, and not enough for me to knock a point off. Actively look forward to all of her matches, and she always delivers."

I hope she can be solo too because while the judgement day gets her good screen time, she hasn't been able to be herself and should be cutting more promos like she did in NXT."

Perez knows her 10 moves, wouldn't know a lick of psychology if it were to kick her in the face, hasn't improved a single ounce or shown any wish to learn said lick of psychology for the past 20-odd excruciating weeks she's been providing smoke-break matches on Raw. She can't cut a good promo to save the human race, & she fits very well in 2025 Judgment Day because her acting chops absolutely suck. Her Boring, Badly-Acted Generic Character is so grating, her title accolades completely asinine. She would not be in the position she is in if not for the fact that she is friends with Booker T. Have amazing new talents like Jordynne, Giulia, or Vaquer that look a million bucks, shoot fire promos & move around the ring with purpose & poise? Throw a little Roxanne in there! What is it with these lacking workers learning Canadian Destroyers? It doesn't magically make you a good wrestler to know the Canadian Destroyer, & in Perez's case it just makes her another dime-a-dozen moves-only worker that happens to have added a Canadian Destroyer to her long list of flashy, meaningless nonsense. Her character does not portray " Badass prize fighter" at all; it portrays " Cast member of off-brand Superbad-type teen comedy whom inexplicably found themselves in a wrestling federation after a funny GPS mishap. ""

Feels like she works the camera so much she forgets she's in the match. And she's felt incredibly awkward and out of place since her callup despite being in a very fitting position for her."

[9.0] "Her nickname isn't just a branding decision, Roxanne Perez truly deserves to be called The Prodigy. Yes, it's fair to say she's still searching for her identity when it comes to personality and presentation. Many critics argue she feels bland or lacks that one defining hook for fans to fully latch onto. And I understand that perspective. But context matters: Roxanne is still so young and already showing incredible promise. With time, the right mentorship, and steady creative direction, her charisma and crowd connection will catch up to her in-ring ability. This year's booking hasn't done her many favors. Losing repeatedly is not the kind of treatment that helps a star rise in the eyes of the main roster audience, who don't often tolerate seeing a wrestler pinned again and again. The only reason I'm not more frustrated is because I believe WWE books her this way precisely because they know she can handle it. She's that good. And make no mistake, Roxanne Perez is a fantastic worker. I've rarely seen someone this young carry matches with such poise. When she's not carrying, she thrives even more, as seen in her excellent matches against IYO SKY, Jordynne Grace, and Giulia. Those bouts prove she's already capable of delivering main-event caliber performances today. In ten years, she'll still be considered "young" in wrestling terms, and by then she could easily be an all-time great. Her versatility is remarkable. She can wrestle as a heel or face, thrive in singles or tags, work as an underdog or the favorite. She blends crisp technical wrestling with aggression, sells and bumps convincingly, and has an instinctive feel for what makes a match engaging. She inspires younger fans, especially young women, with how naturally she embodies the craft. And when mistakes happen, as they inevitably do in wrestling, has the presence of mind to improvise smoothly, keeping everything grounded in realism. Roxanne Perez is destined for greatness. Right now she's a 9, but I'm certain that years from now, I'll come back to this review and raise it to a 10."

[8.0] "Wonderful wrestler, deserves wins... her record this year is insane. Most losses in the company after having just won the NXT Slammy last year for best superstar... make it make sense. Unfortunately, this is not helping her get over with the "main roster" fans who don't seem to respect or care about NXT history. When they see someone losing EVERY match there is no reason for them to get behind them or care unless they have loads of charisma in those losses (like Chelsea Green). The real issue with Roxanne (and this is coming from someone who considers her my #2 overall) is that she somehow has been around for years and still has no catchphrases, nothing the fans latch onto. She needs to be less afraid to look silly, really commit to the crazy and over the top stuff that people like Liv Morgan and AJ Lee do. Some of that comes from facial expressions and mannerisms. The rest is from the verbal stuff. If she could figure out how to get fans to respond to her on the mic and in promos, she'd be a 10. She actually has a shirt that says "Get Rox'd" but has only used the phrase once (maybe twice) on TV, and it was like 2 years ago on NXT. She idolizes Punk and AJ, but doesn't share their promo ability. I hope it's something that can be taught / learned but I'm not sure it is. I think charisma is something you have or you don't. Finally, I accept that some of this is WWE's fault, like Roxanne can't just pick up a mic because she wants to. It needs to be scripted. They need to put her in the position to do more than chase "Dom" and take pinfalls."

"It's no longer puzzling why smarks (and, in turn, NXT booking committee) elevate these types of wrestlers, but it doesn't make it any less frustrating. You have to be able to talk. You have to give us a reason to care beyond doing moves. You have to have a distinct and distinguished character. This wrestler has none of those things. She's a smark magnet being graded on a curve because she's barely old enough to drink. One of the rare NXT recruits from either indys/college whose training didn't completely pass through one ear and out the other. And that's all it takes these days to be considered a "prodigy." Compare her to similarly dark/goth/young Rhea Ripley - Rhea has a character, Rhea has elements that define her personality, where the average fan can almost look at her at any time and know what she is thinking or how she is feeling about a situation. Rhea can do all the moves and spots, but that's not what makes people love her. Speaking of character - what Roxanne does is basically what Liv Morgan does, but because Liv Morgan already does it (and did it first, and is 10x better at it, AND is in the same fucking faction as Roxanne), it comes off as bland and uninspired. Because it is. If you're small, that's fine. Iyo Sky is literally one of the best workers in that company, and maybe the world, but Iyo also has a character, motivations you can see, and a backstory that makes you either hate her or want to root for her. Again, what is tangible that we can take away from Roxanne's performance? What resonates? And again, the answer is basically "Well she's like Liv Morgan and she's really mean." So what? This is the "prodigy" we're referring to?"

[8.0] "She's a great heel with a great wrestling style that blends aggression with technical skills and athleticism. She's very good at telling a story in the ring. She's ridiculously good for her age and has been for many years now which shows you her passion for wrestling. She's not amazing on the mic but passable enough. She might have already hit her skill ceiling, but it's hard to say."

I'm not necessarily expecting her to be a great brawler or anything, but a lot of the moves she does just have zero sound to them and in my opinion, is the thing that really holds her back. She does a lot of great stuff in-ring, but there's no impact, no sound, so it just comes across quite weak. Still, she's very young and has so much potential to be a good wrestler, so if she can improve her move-set and be a little more hard hitting in-ring, then she'll be a great asset to WWE for years to come."

[9.0] "You probably won't ever see me give a ten on this site. I will say though... This is definitely the highest rating I have given someone. I feel like Roxanne Perez is a good wrestler. She seems to be able to play the parts of heel and face. Both incredibly well. She's good on the microphone. She also held the NXT Women's Championship for a considerable amount of time. Then she dropped it to Guilia. Which was a good choice in of itself because Guilia is great too. Some superstars don't need a championship to look like a champion and one of those superstars. Is Roxanne Perez and she just had an amazing performance in the Royal Rumble. A well deserved achievement. After everything she did for NXT. I wish her all the success in the world on the main roster. Congratulations Roxanne."

Her skill, charisma, and overall presence in the ring are beyond impressive, and she's only getting better with time. What sets her apart is the natural connection she has with the audience and how effortlessly she stands out in any match. Her maturity and consistency in the ring show a level of experience well beyond her years, and I can see her being one of the biggest names in women's wrestling for years to come. Honestly, she's my favorite women's wrestler of all time because she just has that special something that makes her so captivating to watch."

Not amazing, as she moves kind of slow at times and her offense often looks kinda weak, but she also has nights where she seems to just flip a switch and wrestle very well. All in all, she's hit or miss to me, but she can be very good at times, and given how young she is, certainly has potential to become a lot better. [[[Edit: updating my mid-2023 where I rated her a 6 to 2025]]] Yeah, Roxanne improved astronomically in 2024. I always knew she had it in her, and I would now say she's one of the best female wrestlers in WWE, up there with the best right now, despite being only 23. The 'switch' that she used to sometimes flip to put on great performances, is now just consistently turned on, and I think the heel run as NXT champ was exactly what she needed to really get going. She's been having banger after banger, and I don't think that's stopping anytime soon. In fact, I just hope WWE doesn't squander what they have in her. She's gorgeous and insanely talented and very young. I honestly think she is the future face of women's wrestling in WWE, provided she keeps going like this and gets booked properly. Easy 9/10"

[7.0] "She's very young with a very high ceiling and she's already good to great in-ring but her promos are all over the place in quality and I'm worried about how she'll match up against some of the "giants" on the main roster. I'm worried about them calling her up soon as an early call up could be a death sentence for her and I think she needs at least 1-2 more years in NXT, but I'm hoping she proves me wrong if they do give her a chance."
