YAMATO revived not only his main-event status, but also singlehandedly improved the Dream Gate title scene after a mediocre 2023-start of 2024. He's not only capable of making a great match at 43, he's also created two sure-fire main-eventers for Dragongate's future alone: ISHIN and Dragon Dia, reinvigorated Madoka Kikuta and Ben-K, and planted the seeds of a heel Kota Minoura. YAMATO is truly a Paradox in the current era of Dragongate."

From his 5 Dream Gate reigns, 10 Twin Gate reigns and 5 Triangle Gate reigns, he has consistently contributed and been a mainstay of Dragon Gate. Whether it's the varied moveset, the thumping theme Yamato Spirit or the slight hair part taunt that infuriated his opponents he will go own as the 3rd longest Dream Gate champion and one of the pillars of Dragon Gate. Similar to Doi, I expect he'll freelance eventually - he's already doing more and more non Japanese bookings. While I'm glad a larger audience will see him and how he's still solid in the ring, I'll be sad that it's the inevitable start to the end of his career. If you watch anything of Dragon Gate, find a YAMATO match in his full heel mode and enjoy."

[10.0] "There's always a lot of talk about "total package" wrestlers in the industry. YAMATO is one of them. From his tag team days with Doi in Mad Blankey to becoming the de facto ace of Dragongate post-CIMA, the man is impressive in everything he does. He's an incredibly fluid grappler, but he can also fly, brawl, talk, and he has effortless charisma. While the veterans are starting to be pushed to the back in DG in favor of pushing the young generation, YAMATO is still at the top of his game after hitting his 40s, and I hope he sticks around long enough to have a veteran run like Masaaki Mochizuki has in his 50s."

Whether as a face or as a heel, you just can't look away when YAMATO is in the ring because you don't know what he is going to do next."

[7.0] "A little under a year ago I would've given YAMATO a 9, perhaps even a 10, but lately there just seems to be something off with him. He was really good in tag matches, as are most guys in Dragon Gate, but when it comes to long, singles matches... he's just not entirely there. I remember liking him winning the title last year, but nothing that great happened since. Granted, he still carries himself very nicely, not to mention his great look."

YAMATO is economical in his offence: he won't perform death-defying dives but his significant techniques - the Gallaria, Go 2 Hospital and even his Frankensteiner of the Almighty flash pin - are all impactful manoeuvres. I fully expect YAMATO to remain a Dragon Gate regular in 2026, guiding the next generation of DG upstarts as his offensive style should see him enjoy a more fruitful career."
