[6.0] "YAMATO can definitely still work and we've actually seen it early last year but he's been average for the past 5 months or something. The only thing that gets me want to watch him is actually his in ring work so if he loses it he won't be watchable"

[10.0] "The best wrestler in Dragongate this year, and overall top 5 in the world. YAMATO revived not only his main-event status, but also singlehandedly improved the Dream Gate title scene after a mediocre 2023-start of 2024. He's not only capable of making a great match at 43, he's also created two sure-fire main-eventers for Dragongate's future alone: ISHIN and Dragon Dia, reinvigorated Madoka Kikuta and Ben-K, and planted the seeds of a heel Kota Minoura. YAMATO is truly a Paradox in the current era of Dragongate."

[10.0] "I cannot say enough good stuff about YAMATO - he was Dragon Gate ace for a good 5-10 years and is still solid now. From his 5 Dream Gate reigns, 10 Twin Gate reigns and 5 Triangle Gate reigns, he has consistently contributed and been a mainstay of Dragon Gate. Whether it's the varied moveset, the thumping theme Yamato Spirit or the slight hair part taunt that infuriated his opponents he will go own as the 3rd longest Dream Gate champion and one of the pillars of Dragon Gate. Similar to Doi, I expect he'll freelance eventually - he's already doing more and more non Japanese bookings. While I'm glad a larger audience will see him and how he's still solid in the ring, I'll be sad that it's the inevitable start to the end of his career. If you watch anything of Dragon Gate, find a YAMATO match in his full heel mode and enjoy."

[10.0] "There's always a lot of talk about "total package" wrestlers in the industry. YAMATO is one of them. From his tag team days with Doi in Mad Blankey to becoming the de facto ace of Dragongate post-CIMA, the man is impressive in everything he does. He's an incredibly fluid grappler, but he can also fly, brawl, talk, and he has effortless charisma. While the veterans are starting to be pushed to the back in DG in favor of pushing the young generation, YAMATO is still at the top of his game after hitting his 40s, and I hope he sticks around long enough to have a veteran run like Masaaki Mochizuki has in his 50s."

And today it still remains one of the main reasons that makes me accompany Dragon Gate, very charismatic and rarely botch, impeccable in the ring and with an absurd technique, I really like to see this man's work, I still hope for another reign as Open the Dream Gate Champion."

[10.0] "YAMATO is an incredible wrestler, he is very good in the ring, both in team matches, as in singles matches, he is also very charismatic, he has many incredible movements, his psychology is very good, besides he is very handsome, he is basically the perfect package."
Makai Club wrote on 26.06.2018:
[10.0] "Massively underrated. If he was in any other promotion other than Dragon Gate he would be praised as a top 5 wrestler in the world. He is that good and every consistent as well. Super charismatic, great character, great wrestler, great everything. Great resume of matches with guys like Kzy, Mochizuki, Shingo, etc. He can work with them all and have a great match with most wrestlers he faces."

[10.0] "There is just something about YAMATO that is just really attractive. No I'm not just talking about his good looking face or flowing hair. His wrestling style is one that draws you in, even if it can be brutally slow paced, because it always explodes with emotion in the end. Whether as a face or as a heel, you just can't look away when YAMATO is in the ring because you don't know what he is going to do next."
Cheker wrote on 20.02.2017:
[7.0] "A little under a year ago I would've given YAMATO a 9, perhaps even a 10, but lately there just seems to be something off with him. He was really good in tag matches, as are most guys in Dragon Gate, but when it comes to long, singles matches... he's just not entirely there. I remember liking him winning the title last year, but nothing that great happened since. Granted, he still carries himself very nicely, not to mention his great look."
Mirajane Strauss Fan wrote on 15.05.2016:
[10.0] "YAMATO is the perfect Pro-wrestler: He has an excellent look, phenomenal wrestling psychology and impeccable character work as BOTH face and heel. YAMATO is economical in his offence: he won't perform death-defying dives but his significant techniques - the Gallaria, Go 2 Hospital and even his Frankensteiner of the Almighty flash pin - are all impactful manoeuvres. I fully expect YAMATO to remain a Dragon Gate regular in 2026, guiding the next generation of DG upstarts as his offensive style should see him enjoy a more fruitful career."
GHOST WATER wrote on 12.03.2016:
[9.0] "Probably one of my favorite workers going today, stiff and appealing moveset, an appealing gimmick that separates him from the eastern pack and his look, mmmm, admit it, your sexuality is a little open for the man."
Paul Allain wrote on 01.12.2013:
[8.0] "In Dragon Gate, YAMATO is the ring general. He is not the most flashy wrestler (which abound there), but he still is very athletic and a very precise and coherent wrestler that held everything together in a match. Even better, he has a natural bad guy aura that really generate passion and drama in his matches, making them a great watch."
