[8.0] "Doug was doing more than alright in a time the business was certainly not. Solid mic skills, though standard heel 101. Commendable ability to gel with most. He helped make sure USWA at least stayed in business, as much as it was a struggle that eventually failed. Truly busted his ass when the business *just about totally collapsed entirely forever*. Now... i wanted to edit this because I am now seeing his tenure during the early times of ECW as The Dark Patriot. He is simply tremendous here. The Dark Patriot was a highlight of Global and helped elevate the career of The uh, Actual Patriot. But in ECW? While he is there, he's probably my favorite part. Love his bell to bell work. Over achiever, 7.5"

[7.0] "I've only seen his work as Nightmare Freddy/Freddie Krueger (a little bit of the ecw/nwa/wcw work but not enough to rate him off it) and I really enjoyed it as he captures the attention without over doing the character, hope to see more of that from him."

[4.0] "The doofy brother of Eddie Gilbert. It's clear where the talent in that generation went. Eddie got the looks and Doug just looked like a perennial enhancement jobber 4 life."

[9.0] "Some wrestling fans, don't take promos into account when judging a wrestler. A 53 year old Doug Gilbert can still talking people into the building, and talk people into hating his guts. He's obviously not as good in the ring as he was back in the day, but no wrestler is ever as good as they were back in the day. Doug Gilbert makes up for it, when a microphone is in his hands."

[8.0] "This guy deserves better! He is great in Tennessee. The ebst peak was in USWA where he was 5 time USWA champion. Teaming with his brother Eddie in ECW was great too. He's a great talker in the ring."
