[10.0] "One of the great Kuniaki Kobayashi's pupils, although Kobayashi's name is not included here. At first look, you'll think Kanemoto is just another bored-looking japanese wrestler with no charisma and generic move-set, that until, the bell rings. He first was a clean high-flyer with mat moves combined which guaranteed him key victories over guys like Sabu and Norio Honaga. Then in 1996, he started to wear kickpads and became a deadly kicking machine, also bearing MMA knowledge to cause more damage. Not to mention his heels antics, specially towards masked wrestlers like El Samurai and Tiger Mask. A living legend, and an inspiration to many badasses like Davey Richards and TJP."

[9.0] "Kanemoto would blossom into a talented, exciting wrestler with tons of charisma, character and great sense of drama but it took him to form that. For years, he was a bland kick/submit Jr, whose talents were only shown briefly. He was good for a solid match but rarely was he exciting. His run as Tiger Mask was a complete bust and rather embarrasing upon reflection but once he crafted out who Koji Kanemoto was, as a sort of shoot version of Masahiro Chono, he was sorted and went on to be the premiere Jr in New Japan for over a decade. Even going on to do something that Jushin Thunder Liger couldn't achieve, going against the Heavyweights and being credibly among them. If anyone is looking to seek out Kanemoto's work, start around 1997 as that's where his real career begins."

Instead, he carved out a nice career for himself as a top name amongst Juniors in the late 90s and early 2000s. A top technician who was unfortunately overlooked by the brilliance of Jushin Liger, I think Koji deserves more credit for what he brought to the table."

[9.0] "An excellent worker, Koji Kanemoto was able to overcome a bumpy start to his career; it was a little too much to put the TIger Mask gimmick on Kanemoto so early on, and he was viewed as a disappointment in the role. But he moved past that and became one of the stalwarts of a thriving junior heavyweight division. It's just a shame that his career spluttered to an apparent end due to injury."

[10.0] "my second favorite wrestler ever. his shoot style is just innovative in the jr. heavyweight division. this guy is an awesome outstanding wrestler. he's above40 years but, omg! above 40 and could give great matches with fujita hayato, marufuji, devitt, etc. his match with el samurai is, simply his mark. long life kanemoto-san!"
