His charisma is so infectious that he avoided being outright fired by WWE, which is a statistical anomaly, in & of itself. His early TNA work was super fun & his character work nowadays transcends the stereotypes of "just-another-comedy-worker." I don't have enough good things to say about this guy."

[5.0] "Ron Killings is the wrestler I might be the most reluctant to rate low, but can't see any reason to not. He started off in TNA which was horribly mismanaged and I tend to not blame much of that run on him, Jeff Jarrett nuked his credibility and then the whole "Team Pacman" debacle happened in 2007. I actually watched his debut and rise during his heel run live in 2011, and it was pretty good television at the time. There were some interesting ideas but in total, but he was never going to reach a main event spot in WWE for an extended period of time. After that 2011 run he literally did NOTHING for me, his comedy work was suitable for the time but in the current product it feels horribly outdated and antiquated. I always will have an appreciation for comedy wrestling but his late stage work his skidding the line between awful and questionable. A horribly misused talent in TNA and a comedy mid carder in the WWE whose act to me, has gotten old."

I laud him for being seemingly immortal and very consistent but I can't help but feel there was a great, main event level wrestler in him that got buried under schlock. But hey, more power to him for the career he had."

His timing, delivery and absurd charm are unmatched, and his 24/7 title run is legendary. A former NWA World Champion with elite athleticism, Truth connects across eras. He may be used for laughs, but he's no joke. Few balance comedy and skill like he does, making him a true all-time underrated gem"

[8.0] "I've never been big on comedy gimmicks, but when it comes to pure talent, R-Truth absolutely deserves the praise. Back in the day, especially during his early TNA run as Ron "The Truth" Killings he was seriously underrated. His speed and athleticism were top tier and he was an exceptional seller with great ring awareness and rhythmic pacing. He also had real skill on the mic. While the comedic version of Truth resonates with a lot of fans (and rightfully so, he's great at it), his in-ring work stood out in its own right. He blended sharp striking, aerial moves and unorthodox movement in a way that made him stand out."

[6.0] "Ron Killings AKA R-Truth is one of the best comedy wrestlers in history, the guy is completely hilarious and is a great addition to any locker room because he is someone with great relationships. He has never been as popular as after his shocking dismissal from WWE in 2025 and ended up being rehired back thanks to the massive fan outcry. After his rehiring, he will be treated as a more serious act and apparently a bigger highlight on the card, but now I ask, does anyone remember any GOOD matches for him? I hope they don't invent a push for the 53-year-old guy who has never had a great match in his career, in the end it's good to have him back, but they keep him just as a low card act and the clown (in a good way) that we all love."
AnotherSpreadsheeter wrote on 11.06.2025:
[2.0] "For someone with nearly 30 years of in-ring experience, it takes a special kind of mediocre for him to not have even one notably great match that wasn't a multiman match that he was little more than a cameo in. A low-end worker when presented as a serious character who never did much of any note, and a one-dimensional punchline slotted at the opening-match level when under his comedy gimmick. Longevity is commendable in this business, but doesn't automatically make you any kind of all-time great. You actually need to do something with your time. I'm sure he's a great guy and is good for locker room morale, and has a bit of utility for a cheap comedy pop every now and then. But if he went away tomorrow I probably wouldn't notice."

[8.0] "R-Truth is a very curious case in wrestling. It's hard to say he's not been a success. He is arguably the greatest comedy character of all time and has stood the test of time impeccably. In ring he's nothing special but by no means bad, he does exactly what you need him to do but will never do anything too extraordinary. But he could've definitely been more than just a comedic character, his feud with John Cena in the build up to Capital Punishment was a very good feud that could've drastically altered the future of R-Truth as a performer if WWE gave it him. While I don't think he would've held it for a meaningful length of tie, likely just being a few months long before losing it back to Cena, it is a title reign that I think would've been thoroughly enjoyable. R-Truth has definitely had a success wrestling career, but could it have been more?"

In ring-wise, he's not anything too special, Ron has a solid moveset and some good matches here and there, but, outside of that, he's pretty much been an interesting character, to say the least. His first few years back were him being either a comedy relief character or a solid enough bad guy. But eventually down the line, he transpired into a star who's mainly used for lower card-mid card stories or matches. Whether it's teaming with Goldust, Kofi, or being used in segments where he'd make a funny joke."

Since 2008 he's been...on the roster...that's about all I can really say about him. With the exception of like 6 months in 2011 he's been doing very tame and boring comedy and has managed to avoid getting cut multiple times when more talented people were let go. Having a different opinion doesn't mean one is incapable of having fun, it means it's a different opinion. Wrestling, baseball, football, soccer, badminton, cricket, snooker, pool, and plenty of other forms of sport and entertainment isn't just for kids, it's for everyone. I know disliking him is unpopular but he hasn't done anything worth watching for a very long time now."

R-Truth isn't only a gimmick wrestler, the man has moves, he's no Santino either, his promos are stuff of legends, we he retires he will go to the all of fame, and gives the best speech of all time. Guy is the definition of never giving up, just like his childhood hero John Cena. Truth is beloved and I mean Beloved by everybody in WWE, from the superstars to the producers, the man gave ideas to McMahon and Vince always backed them up. He is a great man, an inspiration for kids and people like me with troubled pasts. His TNA run was absolutely amazing, his WWE run is not even close to being finished, and the man is 53. I absolutely adore R-Truth, the man is the definition of maximizing the minutes he's giving on live tv. I hope they give him the championship just once before he retires. At least one day, just to say he had it."

He is never too proud of his image to refuse to do something that will pop the crowd and make the audiences smile. Even for his age, he is remarkably athletic and good enough in the ring to hold a fine 10-15 minute match with just about anybody. I think his heel work was entertaining too but nowhere nearly as entertaining as his work as a babyface"

My favorite version of R-Truth was his heel run in 2011, which set the direction for the rest of his career. The NWA champion Ron Killings had different perspectives and potential, but I'm glad I see him in this path. What else fascinates me is how he moves like that in his 50s."

The decision to make him the confused wrestler about 10 years ago was a master stroke, from thinking he was in the MITB match when he wasn't to the Judgment Day segments and even that segment when he broke Brock, he's produced constant classic moments. His main aim seems to be to try and get all the top guys on the roster to crack and he's doing a great job of it, long may it continue."

Then when doing a deep dive of Goldust's later career, I picked up on "The Golden Truth" and I LOVED it. His pacing, coordination, facial expressions, crowd control & obvious love for the business shined. I'm not sure how much of his career I will ever get to see besides this, but it was enough to leave a positive mark."

[7.0] "R-Truth was the best example of an underappreciated star who came to cult following status thanks to the 24/7 title. The only title he had come close to was the tag team as Awesome Truth with the Miz until they finally nabbed them in a double title Ladder Match and a pretty average match for the World title with John Cena, but after the 24/7 Title was born and he formed an alliance with Carmella, he was great. His comedic timing, silly chases, screwy scenarios, and relationship with the title were all great for laughs. Especially when he called it the "24/7, 48/7, 7/11, I-95 South AND Kentucky, European, TV Championship" He also had great talent shown when he became NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION in Impact and won the Hardcore title several times as K-Kwik. His consistency to be a stellar mid-carder and highlight reel of craziness makes R-Truth a valuable commodity to WWE and he did get to be a champion a few times, so WWE knew what they had then and what they have now."

[6.0] "R-Truth in a non-comedy act has always been weird to see; even though his heel run forever did have potential, it was all wasted as he was fed to John Cena at Capitol Punishment, the most forgettable PPV in wrestling history. Right now, his popularity is exploding to heights we haven't seen before, with storylines in the Judgement Day, splitting from the Miz, and now with Pete Dunne; this year is R-Truths best year at 52. He and Miz also won the tag titles in that 6-pack title match and WM40 Night 1. Good stuff. However, his in-ring work consists of either a 2-minute match where he gets a surprise win or a squash loss, or he does the five moves of doom + AA for a win. It's non-existent, which is understandable, but still non-existent."

His run in TNA was pretty good, you could tell he was a star. WWE lumped him in as a comedy wrestler and he excelled. The man is just naturally funny. Definitely need a comedy wrestler like that on the roster, especially one that is mostly filled with guys trying to be "tough" nowadays. He's a great asset and was capable of putting on a decent match back in the day. I think he's at the point now, age wise, where he just can't really "go." However, that doesn't stop him from being a great addition to WWE."

I can't imagine him outside of the WWE, and I understand the divisive feelings that a guy like him causes, but in my opinion he needs to be respected for his dedication, even though I don't estimate him very highly as a worker, he's one of the best comedy wrestlers of all time."

Sure, he is mid as an in-ring worker, but he makes up for it with charisma and comedy. Also, he is in his 50s and still wrestles without much regression. His comedic character is original and unlike other wrestlers and makes the crowd laugh with his quips and mistakes. WWE definitely should have given him a push sooner but it's nice to see that he's getting a decent push winning his first Wrestlemania match and winning the Raw Tag Titles with the Miz. However, the repetitive spot where he enters the Rumble thinking its another type of match is just not funny. Its not believable at all. Of course he has many misses too, but it often gets turns around quickly. He carried the 24/7 division and now making the judgment day interesting, he's a great hand that gets whatever angle over, and for that he deserves of hall of fame. as a serious wrestler, his short heel run in 2011 and NWA world champion run in 2002 are also excellent despite the lack of in-ring ability other than a few cool moves. But that's okay; not all wrestlers are born to be champions. But what Truth excels at is comedy chops that come so effortlessly for him. I mean, for god's sake, the man could make Brock Lesnar corpse. As I write this, Truth is rejuvenating a Judgment Day gimmick getting a bit long in the tooth, and the "perpetually confused" gimmick he brings to stories like these, either as just the one spot or as part of the story, is so versatile that it never seems to get old. His comedic timing, his mannerisms, his facials that he makes, the way he says the stuff he says, the way he does some of the stuff that he does, and his knack for knowing when to do it and say it is just phenomenal.
