[2.0] "He doesn't have much of a body of work to rate, but based on what he did do in his short time, the character didn't work for me. We've seen many different incarnations of the network representative character in several different companies throughout history & I don't think it has ever really worked. People just see through it for what it really is. Canon's delivery of lines in his backstage segments was pretty bad too. It reminds me of a high school drama student overacting because of the excitement of getting the part. I went & watched a few of his matches in Deep South & he didn't seem bad in the ring. I particularly like his pump-handle slam variation. He might be more notable today for enduring the toxic backstage environment, which is what lead him to quit the company."

[8.0] "I worked with Palmer Canon a few times on the independents when he went under the name of Brian Black. He was one of the nicest guys I worked with, and he seemed like a guy who was destined for WWE or TNA. Unfortunately he really was misused in WWE, both on-screen and off-screen, and he isn't in the business anymore. He is an example of a guy who had good size, potential, and attitude to make it in the business, but was outnumbered by scumbags."
