[6.0] "While it is no question that this match is overbooked and chaotic, I enjoyed this much more than the earlier matches on the card. Even though I did enjoy it, I almost wouldn't even consider it a match. With the amount of stopping and starting and random people popping out of nowhere to interrupt the match, along with the references every other second, those things take precedence over the wrestling itself in this match."

[2.0] "This was absolutely ridiculous and could easily be used as an example for why Pro-Wrestling is seen as a joke by many. Shockingly, this wasn't even close to one of the worst matches of the night. There's at least 3 or 4 matches from this event that are worse than this. I'll mention things I like first. Cardona's heel work is good and can work even the 'smartest' wrestling fans. His entrance with the "Fuck Mick Foley" jacket was great. Chelsea Green was probably the best performer in this match. Her 'betrayal' of Cardona was really good but it happened 5 minutes into the match so they could move onto their shenanigans instead of a satisfying conclusion to the angle. Horrible booking decision right there. Chelsea's Destroyer on Marko Stunt was pretty damn hilarious though. Now, just about everything else was awful. Someone already nailed it with the comparison to Vince Russo's booking. There was way too many inside jokes that only appeal to the biggest nerds and a lot of this didn't make sense. Who the hell is Sam Stackhouse, why is Swoggle there, what's the point of Virgil in a Vince mask and you get my point. There was probably about 5 minutes of actual wrestling between Cardona and Janela here and from the little bit we saw they definitely wouldn't have set the world on fire if they had a normal match. *1/2"

[2.0] "A completely illogical, nonsensical match that quickly became an excuse to trot out pointless cameos and bad humor. I don't understand why comedy spots are being used during a blood feud where these two guys are trying to kill each other. If I were to compare this to a movie, it's like if you were watching Goodfellas and Jim Carrey randomly showed up on-screen and started making fart jokes for no reason - it would completely take you out of the story of the movie. Most of the cameos here don't even make sense or play into the match either, like Virgil, who randomly walks out for three seconds before returning to the back. I'm not sure what the purpose of that was. The Hornswoggle stuff was cringeworthy and would have been ridiculed mercilessly if WWE did it, but people let it slide when an indie company does it for whatever reason."

[4.0] "I don't understand why wrestling bookers these days are so damned hard-headed and don't realize that shenanigans during matches DON'T WORK! You took a match that was really good, that I was enjoying, and you made it take a U-Turn and sent it straight down the toilet because of all these random people getting involved that hold no place to the story between these 2 competitors. STUPID! Only Chelsea Greene had a right to get involved because she is a part of the story here, and I loved the the trick she played on Joey Janela and the fans during the match, that was great. Ultimately, this match got ruined and I could not wait for it to be over. I can definitely understand the argument that many fans have about why pro wrestling sucks & is a joke these days, because I see a lot of this bullshit going on around the world, even in Japan & Mexico. In the age of the popularity of the UFC & MMA as a whole, you would think that Pro Wrestling would want to put on shows with gritty competition, no bullshit, in your face type of stuff, and not make you feel like you're watching the circus. Dumb."

[6.0] "This has to be one of the most over-booked matches in history, and just look at the range of those Cagematch ratings. It's a hard one to place because it's an absolute mess of a match but I think it's also pretty entertaining and ties in with Cardona's presence and intentions in GCW. A '6' rating seems fair enough because at no point was I bored, but holy fuck was this stupid."
steviecw wrote on 25.01.2022:
[10.0] "Polarizing and chaotic even by the standard of Matt Cardona's ADHD vision of what wrestling matches should be. The build was great with Joey doing fun and inventive things. The flourishes like Chelsea wearing WWECW Zack Ryder single leg tights and Cardona wearing Mikey Whipwreck gear were an excellent touch. I waited the whole match for Brian Myers to interfere and I still lost my mind when he did. The match is a mess. I loved it."
Sloppy Sammy wrote on 25.01.2022:
[0.0] "Well on the positive side at least a bunch of guys got a payday for this. Part of the reason i wanted to watch this show was to see where this angle was going and boy was that a mistake. God i hate to type this but honestly the only way to describe it would be CRINGE! By the time interference, bad comedy and cameos started this match had already fallen apart. They did a false betrayal spot 5 minutes in with Chelsea Green so thats the payoff you get if you were invested in the angle at all. I guess its cool that they popped the boys with call backs to WWE'S ECW cash grab pay per views but i was kind of hoping to actully watch a decent match. Expected too much!"

PavelDragunov wrote on 25.01.2022:
[6.0] "A good story was prepared for us before the match. And the promotion of the match was noticeable. Cardona is a genius villain. In the middle of the fight, they overdid the interventions, but the ending fixed everything, correct and noisy appearances. In wrestling, everything was just fine."
AdriGn202 wrote on 25.01.2022:

GOK4E wrote on 25.01.2022:

IrnMkeShrp wrote on 25.01.2022:
[10.0] "Absolutely loved this. It's an overbooked love letter to the late 1990s. So many run-ins. Cardona's entrance was incredible; everything from the bootleg Enter Sandman to the 'Fuck Mick Foley' flannel to the Mikey Whipwreck dragon gear. Just the best. All of the run-ins hit. People hating on this need to learn how to have fun."

Walt Vincey wrote on 25.01.2022:
[3.0] "Truly awful match, with ridiculous run-ins throughout. I get that it's Cardona working the crowd with all the shenanigans, but it just made it an absolute clusterfuck to watch. So many spots that were just 'let's do a spot', but not bother with any setups that make any sense. Went on way too long also."
CoolNameGuy91 wrote on 25.01.2022:

arkhamoutlaw10 wrote on 24.01.2022:
[0.0] "The worst match I've seen in so long. Awful endless exchanges of nothingness, the worst interference spots in recent memory, no real hatred or violence that the build and runtime would suggest. I like Cardona but this was woeful. Swoggle, Sam Stackhouse, Marko Stunt, all awful and contributing truly nothing to the table."

Lalo Campos wrote on 24.01.2022:
[1.0] "A disaster called a wrestling match, Cardona is a very average heel wrestler and the cameos made the match worse and worse, and the references of ECW One Night Stand 2006 was also very bad to see, one of the worst matches of the year so far"
thebigmilkman wrote on 24.01.2022:
[10.0] "Legit probably my favorite wrestling match of all time and it had nothing to do with the wrestling. Matt Cardona and Joey Janela put together the most clusterfuck of a match as humanly possible that it made me forget I was watching a Joey Janela match (Who I typically hate with a passion). I genuinely love this match and wish more wrestling was like this"
McPlectrum wrote on 24.01.2022:
[10.0] "I loved every second of this match. My criteria is based on the level at which I enjoyed it, and in this case, it was extremely high. I absolutely love matches that are commentary on the past or present. The run ins made me laugh and feel happy, Cardona is working the GCW fans so hard that it makes the whole thing wonderful."
MrOtaku2399 wrote on 24.01.2022:
[1.0] "a terrible match. way too many run ins and way overbooked. this garbage went waaaaaaaay too long too. this felt more like a wwe match than a gcw one. if that was the point then well done, but it was still one of the worst matches of the whole year and the worst match of gcw i've ever seen."
Kick2Kill23 wrote on 24.01.2022:
[4.0] "Overbooked, too long, and something of a love letter to early 2000s WCW and 2010 TNA where you watched it and went 'what the fuck''. I love Joey, and I love Matt, but man this just wasn't it. I will admit I did pop for Myers showing up in the Edge get up from ONS 2006, but this whole match just screamed 'mark showcase'. Not a match you need to go out of your way to watch."
Kung wrote on 24.01.2022:
[1.0] "This was absolute garbage. Not only was the wrestling bland and uninteresting, but all the shenanigans destroyed the crowd's enthusiasm. The only thing that seemed to interest the crowd was when Marko Stunt came out, everything else was overly booked nonsense that seemed to confuse the audience more than anything. Don't watch this."
MB3101 wrote on 24.01.2022:
[1.0] "I don't know what was this, but it wasn't a wrestling match. I really laughed a lot but I don't think that was the purpouse of this match. Swoggle under the ring is always going to be a fun surprise. But that's the problem, only funny random stuff happening without any wrestling."
lukerocker9 wrote on 24.01.2022:
[6.0] "This match was a bit overbooked for my liking. Cardonas entrance was great and the first part of the match was really good with the Death Valley Driver through the door and Chelsea's betrayal fake out. But the Mark Sterling/Vincent distraction as well as the swoggle thing were unnecesary and made the match way longer than it should've. Could've been an 8 but lands at a 6"

texasyosh wrote on 24.01.2022:

Pierroth wrote on 24.01.2022:
Moonvest wrote on 24.01.2022:
[1.0] "This was one of the most self pleasuring matches I've ever seen. They did so many tributes to other things that they accidentally booked a tribute to Vince Russo. Once Mark Sterling came out and had Vincent, the train was off the rails and the match should have wrapped up. Somehow went like another 4/5 minutes."
BenDenV6 wrote on 24.01.2022:
[7.0] "Normally this would be a 5 or 6 for me but gets a 7 due to the amount of heat it generated. It was really fun and had decent psychology but the wrestling itself was maybe average or maybe a little below average. I'm curious where they go from here."
SiticEye wrote on 24.01.2022:

BUIOOMEGA wrote on 24.01.2022:
[9.0] "Now, from a storytelling point of view, this is a 10/10. I cannot give it just for the "workrate" part, but still is a great match, a great narration for me."
GoldLiger wrote on 24.01.2022:
[10.0] "GCW Cardona is the best heel gimmick in years. The fake Sandman entrance with a DOWNSTAIT cover of his theme, the One Night Stand references on his gear, his parents in the crowd, the cup in his shorts to do the fakeout low blow, hiring SWOGGLE because he's trying to change GCW from ECW into WWECW. Brilliant stuff in the vein of Lawler vs Dreamer. This heel work was the driving force of this insane clusterfuck of a match, since the workrate was pretty middling, but that's okay because it knew what it was. The other Edgehead doing the Edge ONS spot was the cherry on top. Cardona is a mad genius and this was one of the most fun matches I've seen in a while. I don't even know if a star rating even fits here, especially since the best WRESTLING match on the show was the Lucha trios match, but this deserves a 10."

That said this is hella entertaining in the most GCW style ever. Definitely worth the watch if you are looking for a more story drive fun match, don't just expect a technical clinic."
