[5.0] "While the story telling was exactly what this match needed, the pace is glacial. And good story telling just can't recover from that. They tell the story of Cena being rusty and unsure of himself after returning from injury, and Jericho doing everything he can to attack the injury. Cena hangs with the offense and fights his way back to victory in his hometown. All very effective stuff. But it's so slow. Submission moves go on forever. There are so many pauses for Cena to sell the injury and for the ref to check on him. Almost half of this match is just plagued with downtime. It is honestly difficult to stay focused on the whole thing because it just never moves. It is not a match I can recommend to anyone but the most diehard Cena fan. It desperately needed some tempo changes."

Jericho wrestled with some desperation here, due to his job being on the line and Bischoff plays the role of Walmart Vince McMahon making Cena's life hell here(he isn't as good as Vince in this role). The best part of the match to me, was how Cena sold his back after Jericho had him in the walls for an extended period of time. Both times he hit the FU, his facial expressions were great and you could see the struggle that he had both times he hit it ***1/4."

The stroyline about Cena's return it is good, but it was the typical babyface superman return, which personally I don't like it so much."

Cena returns from an injury, Jericho attacks it, Cena shows a lack of confidence, overcomes it and wins. its not a bad match, really.. but its also not a match that I'm going to go back and watch and think is a classic. I don't think these two ever really mesh together.. maybe I'll feel differently at some point but I was left wanting other wrestlers in the Jericho spot here."

[7.0] "I think this may be the best possible match this two men can have with eachother. Jericho overindulges in holds that stall the momentum, but it is far from his most performance in that aspect. Here he really is at the top of his game in terms of aggression. I would have liked to not listen to him repeatedly utter the same words over and over again, but it is a minor nitpick. John Cena is stellar when it comes to psychology in this one. He is has always been at his best when the odds are against him, and here the neck serves as a debilitating factor both in terms of physicality and confidence; as well as giving Jericho a clear target that makes his heat segment much less meandering than usual. Cena never gets over the top while trying to convey the story and when he finally hits the leg drop from the top it feels like a major win the whole bout has been building up to. From there the match overextends it's welcome just a little, but I genuinely think it is the best possible outcome for an encounter between the two."

I appreciate that they wanted to tell the story of John losing his confidence, but there were more entertaining ways to approach that."

Overall, this was a pretty mediocre affair and is not worth seeking out unless you are a Cena or Jericho completionist. **1/4"

[7.0] "A solid main event match for the World Title between Chris Jericho and John Cena. Jericho was doing some great heel work around this time, and that was also present in this match. Him working over the neck of Cena made sense as did Cena's reluctance to go for the top rope leg drop. Great story telling. The action wasn't super snappy or fast-paced (and there were a few not so smooth transitions between moves), but the story was really good and both these guys still worked hard. Also Jericho busted out the Lion Tamer. Love to see it. Nothing special, but just pretty good."

[5.0] "I like both wrestlers but it's really disappointing as the main event for the title. I have seen so much better Jericho vs Cena matches before, and this is weak compared to them. Typical hero vs viillain match. The ending is something we have seen so many times and the title change is not a big deal. **1/2"

[3.0] "I respect both of them but this was absolutely nothing. Cena's return from injury was a really great moment for sure. The match itself was not any interesting. Y2J's top work was not very good. It was too long and dragged the atmosphere down. Cena wasn't much better in comeback. Very little heat with no drama, no interest at all. Overall pretty dull main event."

[1.0] "Meh. That's the one thing I can say after watching this matchup. Jericho's work on top was just uninspiring and quite dull and Cena who just came off of injury wasn't any better as he was more cautious and allowed Jericho to be in control for what seemed like forever. Not a good match at all and flat out boring as well. (*)"
