Both guys know each other so well at this point, going back to ROH in the Reliance vs. No Remorse Corps feud, and it makes this match a joy to watch. A lot of intensity as always from Davey with classic cowardly heel work from Aries in the early going. The longer the match goes, it gets better and keeps the crowd going. We even got a triple thunderclap, wow! Fantastic match, go out of your way to find this hidden gem."

As the match progresses, it becomes a little too fast, which means that not everything is told cleanly and the structures seem blurred, even though what is shown is entertaining and at times not unspectacular. In the end, however, it's the unnecessarily cheap finish that stabs all higher rating ambitions to death."

Both had developed a good chemistry at the end of their series of matches and this was a singles meeting I really wanted to see, they had everything to click well together in the ring and this was the case. The crowd was invested in the action and it was all so clean. Not the finish unfortunately, but that didn't spoil my appreciation. Very good Slammiversary match."

There was a lot of stalling on the part of Aries, and he was on his way out of the company by this point, so although the match is good, it won't go down as one of his more motivated performances."
