[8.0] "This match was just nuts and full of crazy spots. I get why some people would hate this, but I love it when it good. This was a good version of that style of wrestling. Young Bucks are still one of my least favorite teams, but I can admit I do enjoy a few of their matches. The two back to back sickouts from Matt Jackson was crazy and dumb. The mini story of Kyle and Will with the screwdriver was slightly investing."
[10.0] "Well, some people don't enjoy that type of wrestling, the famous and highly criticized "flippy shit". I'm not one of them and I fucking love it. This is NOT a five stars match for me, but if I'm giving this a 10, you can imagine what I feel when I notice that Matthews and Nicholas were FINALLY fighting seriously in this long and exhausting reign they have with the AEW Tag Team belts."
[9.0] "A very classic kind of Young Bucks tag team match but one I've always loved to see over the years, helps that it's a fresh matchup too. I don't care for the Don Callis storyline but its implementation here with the screwdriver stuff wasn't over the top, so it didn't hurt the match for me."
[8.0] "****3/4 a very great match, the best of the night, the level was to be expected, very great chemistry, some very great sequences and spots, very great kick-outs except by Matt that exagerate his kick-outs a little bit, a very good time, a very great rhythm, definitely one of the best Tag Team matches of the year a MOTYc, although this year the Tag Team matches have not been at the level of last year's from what I have seen at least"
[6.0] "Overblown to hell. Match started out fun and normal with great action. I was thoroughly enjoying the first half of this, which is why I'm giving it a six. The second half wasn't nearly as good. They shoved so much stuff in that we've seen before and was completely unnecessary. Kicking out of TWO tag finishers and having a THIRD be broken up, yet Matt Jackson somehow still moves like he only took a superplex or something. And of course they had to include the screwdriver bit. Fun first half, annoying second half."
[8.0] "An absolute amazing tag team match where not only both teams got to shine, but also helped hype up the Ospreay and Don Callis Family tension. The Young Bucks retained and added another match to a very good tag title run. I feel like it may have felt a bit short and could've gone longer however was still an amazing match-up."
[7.0] "Kind of the opposite of the opener where it was big move after big move. Match had a lot of fast paced action and while most of it looked good it got sloppy at times. Ospreay preventing Fletcher from using the screwdriver only to be hit with the belt was interesting."
[5.0] "When people say they hate Will Ospreay matches this is the type of match they are thinking of. In a literal sense it was loud and action packed but i could not have cared less. Fletcher feels like another Ricochet clone in an era where we need much less of that, Ospreay himself is a top talent but his style has become very grating. Saddens me to say it but the Bucks are cooked."
[9.0] "Excellent tag team match. The story between Ospreay, Fletcher and Callis continues. As a tag team, Ospreay and Fletcher have excellent chemistry. The whole match is great and I really liked the finish allowing the story to continue."
[9.0] "Fun to see the Young Bucks fight off the washed allegations and actually really lock in, yes what led to the match was rather disappointing but the match itself absolutely delivered and was a perfect showcase of what all 4 men have to bring to the table"
[9.0] "[****1/2] Stole the show. Fletcher is a worker that when paried with great talent, can exceed almost anyone in the company. Him being tagged with Ospreay was a great choice and the Bucks are an obvious legendary tag team. Fast paced action with great false finishes. Good shit."
[7.0] "I mean absolutely what this match was expected to be coming in, for better and for worse. Phenomenal athletic ability on display, insane spots and reversals, and a little much by the end. Definitely entertaining, but I would love to have a Young Bucks match surprise me at some point, though, I honestly liked the pacing / false finish in this one more than their last few title defenses. Fletcher is so great, he feels like a little orphan boy from One Piece or something. Also please stop with that stupid screwdriver bit, I'm sure the payoff will be gross and wild but my god the means are not worth the end no matter how good it may be. That's all, actually enjoyed it btw, 7/10."
[8.0] "When the Young Bucks try, they're the best tag team on the planet. This was the first match it felt like they put genuine effort into since Sting's retirement match. Ospreay & Fletcher were the heart and Soul of this match though. Ospreay trying to stop Fletcher from giving into Don Callis' corruption made a character moment that I think we're going to see reflected in Fletcher's performance going forward."
[8.0] "This was comfortably the best match on the show. Super well layed out athletic, PWG type business. Kyle is extremely comfortable here in a tag setting but he has shown great improvement as a singles guy that now translates to his tag stuff so he really showed out here. The Bucks actually seemed to care here as well so thats always nice to see. ****"
[1.0] "I've never been a fan of The Young Bucks, as performers and people, and I'm not going to pretend like this hasn't impacted my rating for this match, because it has. I don't like their style of wrestling, and this match was just more of that style; move and move being done but with no meaning whatsoever. Will Ospreay is a phenomenal athlete and you see that on display in this match, however he is prone to not really selling anything, just like The Bucks - at one point, he's hit with a Canadian Destroyer (so sick of seeing this move now, I was blown away when I first saw Petey Williams do it but it's so overused now) and he instantly retaliates with a lariat. I first saw Kyle Fletcher years ago at a RevPro show when he was a part of Aussie Open, I wasn't enamoured with what I saw then, and I haven't seen much improvement in him since, however at least he was selling in this match, so I'll give him props for that. As we got to the end game, Kyle Fletcher went to use a screwdriver while the ref's back was turned, however Ospreay took it away and gave it to the ref. As this was happening, The Bucks used one of the tag titles to whack Fletcher, and that led to The Young Bucks picking up the victory and retaining their titles. As an athletic display, this match was impressive, there's no denying that, but there's a lot more to wrestling than athletics, which is a big reason why I can't bring myself to rate this match higher. There's a lot to like about AEW, however I don't see The Young Bucks as being one of them."
"probably my favourite TV match this year and probably the best aswell. Some AMAZING spots and wonderful story telling towards the end, in my opnion the finish didnt diminish the match AT ALL and probably made it a bit better."
[10.0] "Banger tag team match. The sequences they did were amazing. Will and Kyle looked like absolute stars. Young bucks reminding everyone they are the best tag team in AEW. They had so many great spots. Great performances from all guys."
[9.0] "****1/2 (09/10) Of course, the action in this one was always gonna be out-of-this-world good. I was happy to see the Bucks have an absolute banger after carrying their recent series of fights through just okay bouts. They're one of the best tag teams in the world, they should always be having tag-team classics. As for Ospreay, everything he does is fire. Fletcher looked great, too."
[8.0] "Yes, this match was good and it was nice to see the Bucks to actually put a shift in for once. But damn they had to take it too far at the end, the final sequences went too far and it really takes you out of the match. Even after all my critique I still enjoyed this match and hopefully the Bucks continue like this. The screwdriver thing is old also."
[0.0] "If you made a match with AI and the prompt was "a match with everything I don't like in wrestling", well, you'd probably get this match. Don't get me wrong, the crowd was into it, clearly a lot of folks love it. More power to them. But man I don't think I could point to a single thing I liked here. Everyone competing to have the "best" match, meaning the "most" match, cram the most stuff in and everything else be damned. Even with that I could maybe respect the effort to a couple of points, but holy hell we are still doing this awful drama with Don Callis and the god awful will he won't he screwdriver stuff? Who in the world of wrestling wants to see more of Don Callis at this point? The man is a terrible drag and shoehorning him into this match just made it even worse to me. Just purely, emphatically not for me."
[4.0] "This butchering of moves needs to stop. In what world do you get a meltzer driver and kick out at 2. Its beyond ludicrous at this point. No storytelling and unrealistic psychology. Can appreciate what they do in the ring but this is too far. Please don't take away the impact of finishers. Any sort of driver should not be a transition move. And this match that whole meltzer driver or tk driver sequence was set up for so long only for jackson to kick out a 2, it way just taking away the credibility of their own move. Ofc meltzer gives this 4.75 stars."
[8.0] "It is a superb display of tag team tandem offense, and many of its sequences were done in a seamless fashion making for some electric moments with the audience fully behind it. When these kinds of matches are self-aware and aren't trying to masquerade as something multi-layered, when they hit, they hit. The Bucks coming through and getting creative in a match where they turned in a good shift made this outing even sweeter. I miss when they delivered this kind of quality on any given episode. They got a little too cute in its final minutes and the screwdriver business is foul, but all that aside, this match ruled. ****"
[8.0] "4.25/5. Real amazing match. About exactly what you would hope for out of these four. Did find myself in a weird spot of wanting the Bucks to lose, loving Osperay, but also not really wanting to see him with the tag belts while the division is the way it is. So I really didn't know who I wanted to win."
[2.0] "2 This was so frustrating to watch. First of all I'd like to adress that this is a heel team against a one guy that's in a heel stable and one guy that's a babyface but somehow still has a good relationship with the heel manager of said stable. In other words, taking into account all 5 guys involved in (and around) this match there are four heels and one babyface. I kinda forgot about all of that when the match started though because this was a very fun match to watch. Great action packed start that even with all the highflying and stunts made sense... until it didn't. It went downhill when Ospreay was laying outside the ring and Fletcher was on his own inside the ring. The announcers told the story very well that indeed Fletcher was helpless at this point and that's the story that I saw on my screen. So why in the heck did The Young Bucks pick this exact moment, the worst possible moment, to stop the match to a grinding halt and completely stop any sense of urgency. They have their opponents in the best possible position you can be in as far as tag team matches go and the "best tag team in the world", two men that started teaming together as young boys with now close to two decades of experience together, those two men do nothing to try and finish the match at this point. What the heck is that about? They pander to the crowd, they extremely slowly do a move or two, they don't seriously try to pin Fletcher, don't attempt any finishers or big moves. No, let's make it painfully obvious that we're waiting for our opponent to get back on their feet so we can do the final stretch of the match... Speaking of the finish: there's some shenanigans with Don Callis (a heel) trying to get Fletcher (a heel) to use the screwdriver as a weapon on one of the bucks (a heel). Because of Ospreay's refusal to cheat the Young Bucks get their opportunity to cheat by using a belt on Fletcher..... right in front of the referee. The referee wasn't in the shot at this point (in what I assume was an attempt to hide the fact that he was looking right at it but instead it highlighted the situation even more) but he was definitely there and he did nothing and counted the pin. In other words they first bury the whole concept of this being a struggle and a contest to win to then bury the referee and everything a referee should stand for."
[8.0] "So I went into this thinking "Ok this is obvious booking. No way are the Bucks dropping the belts and there'll be some double crossing involving the Don Callis Family" but goddamn after that TK Driver I marked out. They got me. They actually had me thinking that Ospreay and Fletcher were getting the belts. This was fantastic all killer no filler. A PWG style match with great sequences and tag team combinations. The Young Bucks were pretty dominant in this match which fit the narrative of Ospreay and Fletcher being a less experienced combination of the United Empire but the two still remained a threat with some great hot tags and just pure in ring talent. Also didn't mind the finish, this was clearly not gonna be a clean finish and it wasn't overbooked or messy. Absolutely exceeded my expectations. I don't want to be that guy hyping up Will Ospreay every time he enters a ring but I'll let you know when he has a bad match"
[9.0] "One of the very best tag team matches of the year. Will Ospreay is the most phenomenal in-ring performer of this generation, teaming with Kyle Fletcher has helped the Aussie Arrow become a rising star in the company. Meanwhile, this felt like The Young Bucks of old instead of the old Bucks. They were great heels cutting off United Empire at the right time and building to every spectacular sequence in this match. This will be in the top 5 Dynamite matches of 2024. (****3/4)"
[9.0] "The best match of a strong show, this rocked the house. An outright thriller from start to finish, this delivers on the matchup's obvious potential, stringing together exciting and explosive combination offence throughout. Ospreay's matches continue to have a different feel on these shows also, earning a reaction that was basically unmatched at Arthur Ashe. Fletcher has made strides in that regard also, benefitting greatly from the chance to work babyface. The Bucks spotlight him fabulously, producing a visibly motivated performance. Terrific match that somehow, is trending even higher before losing me ever so slightly down the stretch. ****1/4"
[9.0] "Very solid tag team match. The Young Bucks looked very good in this match as they showed people why they still can put on bangers with the best of them. Will Ospreay & Kyle Fletcher were amazing in this match, the push of Kyle Fletcher been great he took that ball and been running with it and in this match he showed why he's a rising star in AEW. Yes I know he was in Aussie Open and won multiple titles but I meant in a sense of a singles superstar he has been exceeding very well. But overall great match, and The Young Bucks retained."
[8.0] "I read the scathing reviews and was ready for a total shitshow, but you know what? This was actually pretty damn great, right up to the TV finish ****"
[9.0] "I'm a sucker for PWG-ish Spotfests but you can't have two fucking commercial breaking in a match that lasts less than twenty minutes, that just slowed the paced down when it needed to be faster. Also, in matches like this the final stretch should be fire and not some copy and paste screwdriver stuff which already got old months ago. There is still a lot to love terms of spots and athleticism, this is just not as excessive as people pretend it to be (unfortunately). ****1/2"
[7.0] "I thought this was pretty entertaining when it came down to the action with all four guys hitting everything well but it went a little too far. Matt Jackson kicked out of way too much and the melodrama surrounding the screwdriver (which is an ending I feel we've seen several times now) dampened the ending. Still a crowd-pleasing match and I did enjoy watching it when they weren't doing their best to take me out of it."
[3.0] "I'm not a fan of the old PWG/black and gold NXT style spotfest tag matches and this didn't make me more of one either. Like I respect what all these guys are capable of athletically, its just that this kind of obviously super choreographed wrestling with tons of false finishes does very little for me. The whole buildup to this match also just made this leave even more of a sour taste in my mouth. Why not give this opportunity to an actual tag team in your already struggling tag division? Even yet another Bucks vs FTR rematch would've been better than this"
[6.0] "Solid but a bit to stop/start for my liking. There were definitely some cool spots and sequences here, but there was also some not so great stuff mixed in here too. Take for example, the aggressively boring Bucks heat segment on Fletcher, or the eye rollingly terrible melodrama at the end which sees Kyle attempt to use a screwdriver handed to him by Don, only to get stopped by Will who reminds him that he's a good guy actually. Can we stop doing this please? Why does this shit always happen in Ospreay matches too? Don't get me wrong, the highs of this match were pretty high, but there's a lot of shit that you have to wade through to get to those cool moments. Not terrible, but this could've been far better had they just cut the bullshit. ***"
[6.0] "I really don't want to be that guy but they really just did stuff for 18 minutes with one spot of Don Callis trying to make someone use the screwdriver again only for them not to and losing for it. They did a lot of smooth sequences that looked really crisp and the Bucks had a heat segment but like, this was a PWG opener and not even a particularly amazing one. I've seen better Bucks matches, better Fletcher tag matches, and better Ospreay matches, a lot of them. ***+"
[7.0] "[3.5*] This match is the definition of the "TikTokification" of wrestling. There was no build-up; it was just a festival of moves that are usually finishers or signatures, and at times it pushed the limit by trying to show a fighting spirit that didnt make any sense. Im not saying I dont like this style, but this over-the-top approach in the match made me very uncomfortable. During the sequence where Nick Jackson hits a facebuster on Kyle Fletcher, Will Ospreay hits a 450 splash on Nick, takes a Canadian Destroyer from Matt, and doesnt sell the move before hitting a Hidden Blade, I questioned whether this was really the style of match I thought was cool. How can you take a Canadian Destroyer and not sell the damn move? Another thing that bothered me was Matt Jacksons super resilience. How can he take multiple finishers the Meltzer Driver, the Coreolis, the Hidden Blade and still kick out? He turned into the Johnny Gargano of NXT, except hes the washed brother of the duo, the more bland one who barely does anything, so to me, it loses all sense. And to top it all off, Don Callis still managed to ruin the match for me by bringing a screwdriver to Kyle Fletcher, which destroyed everything good the United Empire had done. The match wasnt bad, but the over-the-top elements lost me."
[6.0] "I found this match struggled to hold my attention in how maximalist it was, the moves themselves weren't bad, it just kind of suffers from that usual syndrome where these guys just do things with not a lot of regard to "does this make sense" especially in the finishing stretch. The Bucks having a Gargano-esque FIP performance, powering through finishers like they have plot armor for days, makes zero sense for their characters at all. The screwdriver spot and all the distractions were some of my least favorite parts of this match, we really gotta find more creative ways for the heels to win because this cheesy melodrama is getting old. Fine enough otherwise. ***"
[8.0] "I had a feeling Young Bucks started to tone it down a little, but man they have delivered here. Os and Kyle were a great pairing here and had great chemistry with the Bucks. This honestly felt like 2019 AEW and NJ type of Bucks match. Which is a breath of a fresh air, as AEW's tag division felt really stagnant and needs big names in it. I loved how intense the match felt near the end and the amazing selling from Kyle. Made be believe Will and Kyle had a chance to win here. They lost, but with an internal conflict between Callis and WIll. It was great: a fun watch and advanced the story towards a possible Aussie Open/United Empire reunion in AEW."
[3.0] "Kind of a nothing match. Young Bucks are mostly just playing the hits at this stage in their career and Kyle Fletcher is really heavily exposed as diet Will Ospreay when working alongside the real thing. I miss Mark Davis. Fun spots here and there but nothing worth going out of your way to watch."
[6.0] "[3.25*] This match just didn't work for me, just 4 guys spamming finishers to hype up a dogshit crowd with a bunch of casuals who only pops to finishers, even rewatching i didn't saw a thing that i liked, this match encapsulates an ospreay match, didn't have any match progression, finisher spam since the start, alot of unnecessary nearfalls, matthew looked like johnny gargano in nxt black and gold, kickouting of everything, the coreolis kickout was the cumulus. The sequence of ospreay no-selling a canadian destroyer to make a hidden blade made me want to turn off the tv."
[9.0] "my match of the night for me. Did not care about this match coming in what so ever but knew it would be incredible and i think for me it over delivered probably just because coming in i didnt care whatsoever. There was points where i thought the bucks would loose the titles actually. Very good false finishes throughout. Also very happy that the rest of the elite didnt get involved in this match to help bucks retain that is very refreshing. Love the possible story of don callis family and even fletcher beating the hell out of osperay. I honestly expected that tonight. Very good match. 4.75 stars"
[6.0] "Just so pretentious, reusing the top rop Oscutter to interrupt the springboard spot that always looks bad, to the Swanton/Powerbomb that Ospreay glazes on Twitter, this just has no logic. Nothing looks real. Ospreay gets hit by a hurricanrana, and is out the match for 2 minutes, but can get out of super finishers and canadian destroyers like their candy. It's all too convinent, and tonally is such a hard clash when compared to the Danielson/Nigel match."
[9.0] "This match was an absolute spotfest and I loved it. A PWG-type spotfest with these four putting an excellent match in front of a red-hot crowd. The Bucks beated the washed allegations (which I never believed in) and Ospreay & Fletcher put on a tremendous performance. Fletcher, in particular, looked amazing here. They started off hot with a double moonsault by Ospreay & Fletcher and never looked back. Just amazing wrestling all around. Lots of kick-ass exchanges and manuevers. The finisher exchange made me jump out of my seat. I loved the double styles clash spot and the TK driver on the apron was deadly. Lots of nearfalls too. I though Fletcher had it won at least two times, after the coreolis and the brainbuster on the top turnbuckle, Generico-style. Loved the closing stretch of the match with Don Callis costing Fletcher and Ospreay the match too. Amazing, amazing match. 9/10 - 4.75*/5*"
[4.0] "Man, I just couldn't care about this one to be honest. For the record I'm not a fan of any of these guys, but this one didn't offend me as much as their other matches. The moves looked decent, until they hit strikes which didn't connect whatsoever which is embarrassing to see after watching Bryan & Nigel. The Bucks are really bad at hitting Superkicks nowadays because they miss by a mile each time. Also, how is Don Callis still in this company! ? It's crazy to me, he offers nothing and we've been doing this screwdriver thing for a year, I'm so sick of it and the melodrama it entails. **"
[6.0] "Yea these style matches no matter where they take place arent really my thing. On occasion I may enjoy these style of matches but yea this one just felt like two teams trading big move after big moves and it was kick out after kick out. Got to the point where I was just kinda over it and was waiting for the match to end. I can appreciate the athleticism and the crowd were the loudest during this match compared to the whole rest of the show so clearly the crowd enjoyed it. It just isnt for me really 3/5"
[10.0] "Pure spectacle in the absolute best way. The acrobatics, sense of brutality, and character work were all phenomenal here, and the various manuevers pulled off flat out took my breath away. Ospreay and Fletcher feel like they're pushed to their absolute limit here, really helping solidify The Bucks as threats (something they've been pretty hit or miss on during the summer). And Ospreay furthering the rift between him and the Don Callis family, Kyle in particular, which ended up costing the two the match was the perfect way to push the storyline forward."
[7.0] "Awesome effort and the Bucks best match since Sting's retirement. This screwdriver garbage has to go. Would it kill AEW for clean finishes occasionally, they need a Baba in the 90s moment. ***1/2"
[1.0] "One of the most self-indulgent wrestling matches I've ever watched. Literally nothing here except these four trying to pack in as many movez as they can into the runtime. Add the stupid bullshit with Don Callis and the screwdriver, and you get something that no one on earth should care about, yet for some reason, they do. Don't get me wrong, this is impressive athletically, but nothing means anything and any moment whatsoever. Calling this a PWG match is offensive to PWG, this shit felt like it was 50 minutes long in the worst way possible. Under 1 star."
[6.0] "This was a good spotfest but other than being a good spotfest full of big moves and sequences, this wasn't that great and I thought it lacked psychology, it was too much PWG-esque with big spots but nothing in between which isn't something I like, moreover, I thought this was too long for what it was and it went all over the place until a point it bored me. I can't deny that this was a good match mainly because they cooked inside the ring but I just find those over-exaggerated spotfest annoying and extremely overrated though I understand people who like it. The finishing teased interesting things for the future which is a good thing - ***1/4"
[6.0] "Some impressive displays of athleticism but a match that felt like that was all it was until the ending. Little in the way of letting the match build to anything, playing to the crowd. Just constant moves in a match that has a team that attacked the owner of the company five months ago that should theoretically be more heelish and playing into that role. Factor in the Don Callis involvement toward the end that took me further out. Like a number of Will matches and Bucks matches, I enjoyed this less than most."
