[8.0] "It's refreshing that Hogan gets taken out early in the show, gets bloodied up and he doesn't come back again giving the heels some actual heat for once! With the Hogan stuff cut down to one segment, this significantly improved this episode of Nitro compared to recent weeks because all the focus was on the wrestling, which WCW was really good at as well as it continuing one of the more interesting storylines happening with Sting and Luger. Savage vs Benoit was a decent match even though the ending probably could have been better with Woman turning heel after the match. Pillman/AA vs Sullivan/Morrus was an okay match mainly because of Pillman's unhinged character and AA's mystery attacked implied to be Paul Orndorff later in the show. Flair vs Bagwell was surprisingly really good and Sting and Luger vs LOD was a strong TV main event."

Brian Pillman no selling shots from Kevin Sullivan planting the seeds to his famous departure. WCW is still testing out Bagwell as a singles star this time against Ric Flair. I didn't like the main event but I am really digging Sting and Lugar, great chemistry here and storytelling."

The way Benoit cracked his head on floor was uncomfortable. I ended up liking the main event the most, enjoyable power wrestling and the Luger/Sting dynamic is amazing."

[6.0] "There is a ratio of 95% matches and 5% angles in this episode, unusual for WCW in that period. It starts great with Randy Savage vs Chris Benoit and an unexpected turn at the end of the match. Then it gets less satisfying, the second match is terrible, the third one is generic, the main event is okay, but nothing special. Common episode with a great start."
