[5.0] "A rare missfire. The show has it's highs no doubt especially at the end. It started off well but there was a bunch of filler and bad matches here. I was hoping the final matches could save the show but the Arena match was a shocking miss for me."

[8.0] "(7.9/10) The best match of the night was the fight that opened the wrestling storm of Double or Nothing. But what else did you think would happen when you've got Will Ospreay in one corner, bruv! From there the dead spot was survived by Death Triangle and the Gunns and Jay White, though in a play it safe type match, before Toni got us back on track with her World title defense. And then: that's when the caliber of the matches began an onward decline, hitting a bottom with the clusternut of a triple-threat for the FTW championship, and progressively returning back in top-notch shape by the time the Barbed-wire steel cage was on top of the ring. The rest of the show was what we've come to know from an excellent AEW ppv, though it was dragged by a spacious lull in the middle, which prevented Double or Nothing '24 from topping some of the better flagship events of AEW. But remember: the bar's been crazy high from day one."

[9.0] "Another incredible AEW PPV, this one felt much more insane and crazier with all the interferences in almost every match and the Anarchy in the Arena to close it. If I'm nitpicking I'd say Trent vs Orange and/or the FTW 3 way should not have been on the show to make it shorter, but even those 2 matches were good! Will Ospreay vs Roderick Strong in a awesome opener, to surprise of nobody, I hope Ospreay will take the international title to another level. MJF make an epic return and a fire promo! Toni Storm vs Serena Deeb was really good. The trio was very good with Juice Robinson returning. I wished Takeshita would have won but the finish kinda protected him in defeat, good match with Mox. The barbed wire steel cage was a perfect bloody mess, good use of the stipulation and Gangrel was a cool surprise, I hope Copeland is not hurt after that scary elbow drop. Willow vs Moné excellent match, the CEO will take this women division into new high. Swerve vs Christian Cage was great, picture perfect timing on the house call kick at one point. The main event was pure insanity with the crowd being still hot for that fight. Peak entertainement mixed with violence and crazy spots. The show is long but time flew by honestly, can't decide which is better between Revolution, Dynasty and Double or Nothing, all great PPV for different reasons."

We got some amazing matches, moments and returns with names like MJF, Juice Robinson and....Gangrel...Yayyyyy....We had a resume of good matches including Ospreay vs. Strong, Willow vs. Mercedes, Swerve vs. Cage & the absolute chaotic Anarchy in the Arena match that was oh so fun to watch! AEW has some potential if they can create compelling storylines and a narritive. [****]"

The Osperay match, the steel cage, match, the anarchy match, the swerve match, and even the Mercedes match all hit hard. I just wish that the weekly views would always have this good build up with such a great payoff on a pay-per-view. One thing that is noticeable is AEW always has the best pay-per-views in professional wrestling, and it shows with this. Besides the matches, the generic spectacles, and the design of the show was simply spectacular. The segments, the spots, the returns, everything was awesome. MJF came back and got an outstanding pop. Get this..GANGREL HELPED ADAM COPELAND! Really cool stuff"

First half of the show was looking dreadful but they brought it back once the barbed wire cage match happened. That, then an easy match of the night in the Mercedes/Willow match, had me locked in, and I liked the two main events even if they weren't entirely my cup of tea."

[8.0] "AEW continues a run of great PPVs this year with Double or Nothing. After two previously underwhelming DONs in 22 and 23, this one was an excellent return to form. There was no truly bad match on the card, though I will say that OC and Trent probably would have worked better as a pre-show match and the FTW match was messy (with some fun spots here and there). The three main event matches all delivered, Roddy and Ospreay was an excellent opener, Deeb and Toni put on a great match, as did Takeshita and Moxley, the Trios Match was a good time, and the cage match was brutal. Top it off with the returns of MJF, Juice Robinson, Adam Cole, and a surprise appearance by Gangrel and you have a wonderful night of pro wrestling. Cheers to DON and on to Forbidden Door."

The last 4 matches were all really good, Takeshita and Mox was overbooked but still pretty good, and the first 3 matches were all really good. Plus we got the long awaited MJF return."

Some stuff are pretty good(The Opener, The TBS title match, The World title match) but even those matches under delivered. Other matches either have the wrong person going over(Malakai VS Copeland, Takeshita Vs Moxley) Are not on the level of being a PPV match(Trios title match, Women's title match, Cassidy VS Trent) Are straight up terrible(FTW Title match) or are so badly booked that they don't make any kind of sense( The Main Event)The show definitely ends up on the lower end for AEW PPVs."

[8.0] "[8.0] AEW Double or Nothing was a good show, although this wasn't as good as I think it could of been, I'm glad with what I got out of this. Roderick Strong vs. Will Ospreay was a great opening match to kick off the show. With a mini Adam Cole segment right after, which led to a returning MJF! That was awesome.(4.5 stars) Bang Bang Gang vs. Death Triangle was next and it was an ok match.(3 stars) Toni Storm vs. Serena Deeb was an ok match as well. Wasn't really into it until the finish which had a top rope storm zero. The finish was awesome, thats all I can really say. (3 stars) Orange Cassidy vs. Trent Beretta was a good match, the Don Callis bit at the end caught me off gaurd. My only complaint is that it went on for 13 minutes. (3.5 stars) Chris Jericho vs. Hook vs. Katsuyori Shibata. Ok. This might be just me, but i really like the FTW matches. Idk, I just like the hardcore stuff I guess. But I really enjoyed this one. (3.5 stars) Jon Moxley vs. Konosuke Takeshita was a solid IWGP Title Eliminator match. (4 stars) Adam Copeland vs. Malakai Black was something pretty special. Unfortunately Adam got injured but despite all of that, this was a great match with Gangrel returning to help Copeland fend off House of Black. (4.75 stars) Mercedes Moné vs. Willow Nightingale was an excellent TBS Title match. I wasn't too interested in this but when i re watched it back I enjoyed it (4 stars) Swerve Strickland vs. Christian Cage is a little weird imo because yes the story is there, but I guess I didn't wanna see Swerve defend the title against Christian Cage. But the match was ok, I did enjoy some of it. (3.25 stars) Now time for the main event. the Anarchy in the Arena match was imo the best AEW has ever put on. Darby Allin hanging upside down by the feet was nuts, what was even crazier was that Jack Perry would be lit on fire. Safe to say this bumped the show up for me. (5 stars)"

Guter Abschluß der Show."

[8.0] "I'm not usually a fan of builds to AEW PPV's that build around Anarchy in the Arena/Blood and Guts/Stadium Stampede's but usually in the end, I find that the shows themselves are great, Double or Nothing 2024 is no exception, AEW's weekly shows have been growing on me as of late, they've been better with storylines and continue to put on good matches. Their PPV's are always top drawer but have so much wrestling to the point where I get burnt out by the end. As of Recently I've tried watching them in 2 sittings and it's resulted in a MUCH more enjoyable viewing experience for me personally. We kicked this show off strong with Mr. Roderick Strong vs Will Ospreay, the Undisputed Kingdom stable has been a joke since debuting, that owes slightly to Adam Cole's injury but there is still 4 incredibly talented workers there without him which haven't been booked well at all. Will Ospreay has been on an absolute tear since joining AEW and so it's not a surprise he put on another great match here, I don't think that Strong and Ospreay's styles clash that well but they still put on a great showing here, disappointed for Strong only getting a short reign but hoping he plays a big role when Adam Cole returns. (4/5). After a brief Adam Cole segment we got the return of MJF who confirmed he has resigned with AEW, that's a huge boost for them. The Bang Bang Gang faced Death Triangle next, this was quite good if forgettable. A star studded cast of wrestlers but it's always slightly hard for me to care about the Trios Title's no matter how much I try. Give them to Christian's group and I'll probably take a big interest in them, he's brilliant. (3/5). Toni Storm took on Serena Deeb next, I don't think the sudden face Serena has worked all that well but they still put on a good match here, Looking forward to the May vs Storm split but have been very impressed with Storm in AEW, bet on yourself like she did when leaving WWE. (3/5). Orange Cassady vs Trent Barretta was next and I was really looking forward to this match, sad news regarding Chuck Taylor and his injury, but making it into something to push Trent instead of forgetting about him for the entire injury is great and this was the obvious route and whilst I don't like Don Callis interference all that much, getting Trent to be part of that group is fine with me. This match lived up to a first time expectations, I would have liked a big blow off match after Forbidden Door but with hindsight, another injury affected this. (3.5/5). Jericho vs Shibata vs Hook was up next... The less said about Jericho matches in 2024, the better. I can't wait to see who the learning Tree eventually puts over but it'll probably be Hook. (2/5). IWGP World Champion Jon Moxley is up against Takeshita next, For being one of the best overall in-ring wrestlers with a great mouthpiece in Don Callis, you would think that Takeshita would win more often, the finish to this one was iffy, the referee 100% saw Moxley with the chair offense, however the rest of the match with Takeshita working the arm of Moxley to break him down was really good. (4/5). Adam Copeland faced Malakai Black next in a rare 1 on 1 match for Black, even wilder that it's in a barbed wire cage match, Unsurprisingly this was chaos from start to finish, Gangrel making an appearance was good stuff and proved to Triple H that we do indeed remember him. So much crazy hardcore wrestling at play here and loads of interference, it was honestly wild. Unsurprised that Copeland didn't put over Black, almost relieved that he got injured. (4.5/5). The Debut of Mercedes Mone followed this as she faced Willow Nightingale for the TBS title, it didn't look like she missed a step after her long layoff through injury, she's just that good. Unsurprised with the result of the match, and it never really looked like Willow could win here but they still put on a good showing. Statlander turning heel after the match could lead to some interesting matches! (3.5/5). We had the AEW Title match to follow this between Christian and Swerve Strickland, I think these 2 were the MVP's of AEW in 2023, still waiting for that Keith Lee vs Swerve match by the way... they put on a really decent matchup here despite the fact it never really looked like Christian was going to win. Christian wasn't built up as that credible of a threat and that did damage bits of this, but I still enjoyed it for a world title match. (4/5). It's Main Event Time! Anarchy in the Arena means more and more chaos, it's more of a spectacle than anything and constant action you could compare to a film, but a film I did enjoy. A flamethrower spot is something I haven't seen for a good while. It's everything you'd expect from one of these types of matches and more. (4.5/5). This is another AEW show that exceeded expectations for me, by now I should know that it's always going to be good no matter what and I have to admit they are by far the kings of PPV's. Watching this in 2 parts made it all the better and I'm very excited to do the same for all of the previous AEW PPV's. This show easily gets a 8 out of 10 for me, if some of the matches weren't so predictable, I'd probably bump it up to a 9 but considering WWE's recent run of shows, 8 blows them out of the water."

Their PPVs always deliver their moneys worth and so far in 2024, after two all-timers in Revolution 2024 and Dynasty, Double or Nothing 2024 was a worthy follow-up to those PPVs. The only criticism I have for the show is that it did get a little bloated at times but its not the biggest problem for me when the wrestling itself is so good. And as good as this PPV was, I have a feeling this will most likely be the worst PPV offering for AEW this year as they are starting to get back major players for their summer and Im expecting some great things from AEW this summer. Very solid PPV, I would give it a 8.5/10. My favourite match of the night has to be Anarchy in the Arena but special shoutout to Mercedes Mones return match, that was very good and Willow had probably the best match of her life in that match for me."

Afterwards Adam Cole showed up but got interrupted by a returning MJF. He took Cole out and then proceeded to cut one of his best promos to this day. He said the whole Devil thing was stupid and the real MJF is back. So happy to see him back and so happy to see him drop all that babyface shit. BCG vs. Death Triangle was a really solid bout and Juice Robison making his return was a great moment. Debb vs. Storm was good despite being extremely predictable. The final 5-6 minutes were awesome. OC vs. Trent was alright but OC winning again was the wrong decision for me. It makes Trent look terrible. Hook vs. Shibata vs. Jericho was the worst match of the night, all of this learning tree stuff is just unwatchable. Moxley vs. Takeshita was really good and I didn't even mind the outcome unlike a lot of people. Copeland vs. Malakai, after the main event, was my favorite match of the night. I freaking loved it. Awesome match. Mercedes vs. Willow was amazing, one of the best women's matches in AEW's history. Mercedes is incredible, I had a few doubts going into this but she knocked it out the park. In the post-match Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway turned on Willow. Swerve vs. Chrstian was a great world title match, a bit too long but super fun. I hope it doesn't get outshined by other matches on the show. Anarchy in the Arena was my favorite match of the night. There were legit two attempted murders and Darby got hung by his feet and got superkicked. Plus the final countdown played during the brawl through the crowd which instantly became one of my favorite moments in AEW's history. Overall: an extremely long show that, personally, flown by. Except for the three way all the other matches ranged from good to amazing, especially the steel cage and the main event. Really strong opener and the two women's matches delivered, especially Willow vs. Mercedes. Plus it had the return of MJF and Juice Robinson which were great, especially the first one."

[8.0] "A strong showing here. The Ospreay vs Strong opener was very good, if rather obvious in result. The rest of the best came later in the show, with an excellent in-ring debut for Mone vs. Willow and a strong World Title match between Swerve vs Christian. In the case of the latter, I think Christian was a good safe choice as first title feud for Swerve; while the end result wasn't really in doubt, Christian's character work would virtually guarantee entertaining TV, while the resulting match would be good at minimum. Getting a win over him adds a strong name to Swerve's title defense resume and Christian's own standing isn't hurt by losing the match at all. Anyway, the rest of the traditional matches were at least all solid; Copeland vs Black in the cage match was mostly good but somewhat marred by Copeland's ill-advised decision to do that cage dive. Mox vs Takeshita was also fine, but wasn't necessarily a match that needed to happen since the belt wasn't directly on the line. Storm vs Deeb, OC vs Trent and the Trios Title match were all OK. FTW Title three-way was easily the show's weakest point. Outside the traditional matches, the Anarchy in the Arena match was a lot of fun - just a good mix of extreme spots, comedy and a few "WTF" moments that made it a fun watch (I especially loved the visual of Darby doing the Coffin Drop off the ledge just as the chorus of "Final Countdown" hit). Of course the biggest news of the night might well be outside the matches, as MJF made his return with a memorable promo. If decimals were allowed I'd probably go 7.5 - I don't think it was *quite* as strong as Dynasty - but I'll round up."

The Bang Bang Gang and Death Triangle then battled over the AEW Trios Titles and the ROH World Six Man Tag Team Titles in a match that was much better than I expected after Collision. Toni Storm then defended her World Women's Title against Serena Deeb in another match that managed to exceed my expectations. Orange Cassidy and Trent Beretta had a fine match, but the wrong guy won and it didn't need to be on Pay-Per-View. Chris Jericho retained his FTW Title over both Hook and Katsuyori Shibata in another match that didn't need to be on Pay-Per-View. Jon Moxley and Konosuke Takeshita had a slow and methodical, but very good, match to get things back on track. Adam Copeland defended his TNT Title against Malakai Black inside a barbed wire steel cage, breaking his leg in the process. Mercedes Mone defeated Willow Nightingale for the TBS Title an excellent match. Started strong with Ospreay v Strong, had two decent bouts with the Trios match and Women's Championship - Toni Storm's gimmick continues to hold her up, even if I think her performances in the ring aren't amazing - with the Cassidy/Beretta match making up for middling booking with a genuine brutal atmosphere to compensate. I didn't hate the FTW match - Jericho's Learning Tree gimmick is so over-the-top it's hilarious, though I haven't been watching the weekly shows for a bit, so it hasn't worn out it's welcome for me yet. The match itself was fine, with a lot of silly spots and interferences to keep it interesting. Honestly, the biggest downer of the night was the Moxley/Takeshita eliminator match - I dunno, I like Takeshita, and Moxley might be my favorite wrestler in AEW, but something was just... missing in this match. I didn't care for the injured Mox angle, and there were so many moments that were peak 'just pin him! ' where Takeshita could've gone for the win, but didn't. It wasn't awful, but it did nothing for me. Sans the stupid cage jump spot, Copeland/Black was great, great fun, especially with all the silly swerve stuff with the HoB pretending to betray Malakai, and Gangrel's appearence got a good laugh out of me - shame it cost Copeland months from his career. Mone/Nightingale had a brutality to it I just didn't expect from the latter, and having never seen Mone in WWE, I was super impressed by her debut AEW performance. Swerve/Cage was great fun, with all the dumb interference you'd expect from the Patriarchy, but it worked into a match that was never really in doubt. But the Anarchy in the Arena... man, hearing Justin Roberts utter 'Welcome to the s! $tshow' set the mood perfectly. The insane brawls spreading throughout the arena, the Final Countdown playing, Darby and Jack brawling in the back, truck spots, Okada being a nutjob, FTR kicking ass, the Bucks being assholes whilst still effortlessly kicking ass... THE FLAMETHROWER. It's the natural of the madness wrestling can devolve into - a messy, objectively stupid bout that shouldn't work but it just... does. I loved it, so much, and I'm glad it's not the end of this longrunning EVP storyline - I just hope they can bring something to the table that matched Anarchy in the Arena. Amazing stuff, though I'd totally get it if someone didn't like it much. Overall, decent PPV; It wasn't all winners, but where it counted for AEW's future? I think they nailed it."

Will Ospreay vs Roderick Strong: A great opening contest, Ospreay had perfect footwork at the start, which carried through the match. Wardlow trying to get involved was funny when the referee turned round and saw what happened, great back and forth match with the right winner in Ospreay [****1/4]. Bullet Club Gold vs Death Triangle: An okay match, nothing memorable happened during this one, BCG winning was obvious unfortunately [**3/4]. Toni Storm vs Serena Deeb: An alright match to be honest, but could have had 5 minutes cut off it would have made it better, Deeb proved to be a viable threat to the reign of Storm [***1/2]. Orange Cassidy vs Trent Beretta: Felt like this match belonged on a Dynamite or Collision not a PPV, the action was average to be honest [**]. Chris Jericho vs Hook vs Katsuyori Shibata: This was a mediocre at times best match, the ending was okay when Hook hit a t-bone suplex on Big Bill through the table from the apron, Jericho pinning Shibata was not surprising to see [**3/4]. Jon Moxley vs Konosuke Takeshita: Takeshita targeted the limbs of Mox, Mox was obviously in pain but powered through and showed that he can still win against the odds, in what was a great match [****]. Adam Copeland vs Malakai Black: Absolutely brutal steel cage match, The House Of Black getting involved was not needed but great to see Gangrel come to the aid of Copeland, brutal spots like the elbow drop from the top of the cage through a table that Copeland hit on Black [****]. Mercedes Mone vs Willow Nightingale: A great match, better than their previous match in 2023, they went for it and it showed in what was a enjoyable women's match [****1/4]. Swerve Strickland vs Christian Cage: It was better than I expected it to be, both gave a solid performance and in my opinion was my MOTN [****1/2]. Anarchy In The Arena: Not the best Anarchy In The Arena match, but still some memorable moments [***3/4]"

[8.0] "This was a very good PPV and well worth the $50. I'd maybe go with an "8.5" for the show if it were an available score, but an "8" seems fair on the grounds that I thought both of the year's previous PPVs (i.e., Revolution and Dynasty) were better overall. The in-ring work was overshadowed a bit by the spectacle of the production on this PPV, and - in this case - it was a nice change of pace. The use of licensed music was fantastic (esp. "Final Countdown" and "Where Is My Mind? "), and the crowd really made a few moments shine even brighter (esp. tin-crowd mayhem of Anarchy in the Arena, the sustained pop for MJF's return, and the competing chants for Willow/Mercedes). The show sagged a little toward the middle but the opening hour and the last four matches really exceeded expectations. Best In-Ring Performances: Ospreay vs Strong (1st), Willow vs Mercedes (2nd), Swerve vs Christian (3rd) Best Spectacles/Moments: Anarchy in the Arena (1st), MJF's return (2nd), the Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match (3rd). Letdowns: I felt like the show ran a little long and would've benefitted from pushing a couple of matches to Dynamite/Collision (e.g., the FTW match). Even Cassidy/Trent felt a little flat (despite a really well-worked match), and could've been saved for TV, especially if it was a repeat of an outcome that had already occurred. From a booking perspective, having Orange Cassidy win again over Trent is the biggest head-scratcher. I was also perplexed by the Takeshita/Moxley booking but maybe their hands were tied due to NJPW considerations. Other than that, I think the show would've benefitted from one or two more matches having fully clean/earned finishes."

The triple main event moniker worked to at least get the crowd pumping, but the early going never clicked. I could blame Taven and Bennett for killing the crowd five minutes in by nearly killing Ospreay. Toni Storm found herself once again in a bad title defence that wasn't totally her fault, but at some point you have to wonder why everyone's struggling to create magic with her. Standout performers were Willow for lifting the crowd, and CC and Swerve for putting an excellent outing filled with interesting stuff into the semi-main slot."

MJF's promo was pretty cool plus Juice Robinson's return. some matches could've been much better like Mox-Takeshita or Adam-Malakai or even AITA. some matches at AEW PPVS don't really need to be on the show, and I think that 8 matches for a PPV, is way better than 10. AEW doesn't focus on lots of video packages which is pretty cool, but they should consider something instead between the matches, so they don't have to jump right through the next match without letting the fans taking a break. International Title and AITA were the best matches of the night. Cassidy-Trent and Mox-Takeshita disappointed me because of their build up and their ending, although in-ring actions were pretty good."

Warum? Tony Khan hat soviel Expertise Backstage. Er sollte darauf zurückgreifen. Ansonsten sehr durchschnittlicher PPV."

This shambles was an embarrassing downfall compared to the first Double or Nothing. None of the matches had any wow factor or excitement about them, all it is for Tony Khan now is letting his ego and arrogance go to his head as it's definitely showing here. Putting Willow Nightingale as a paper champion just so Mercedes Mone beat Willow for the title anyway, What was the point of having Willow win it at Dynasty from an Injured Julia Hart just so she could lose it at the next PPV to a woman that up to Double Or Nothing ain't wrestled since last year due to injury. Right folks, Anarchy in the Arena was just a piece of garbage as the Young Buckaroos are cringey heels who should've had their status as EVPs removed as the match delivered no drama and no excitement, which in turn produced mediocre results with the Elite winning yawn! . I fast forwarded through this PPV to actually get to Adam Copeland vs Malakai Black which would've been a good match if Copeland didn't go to the top of the cage and botch his elbow drop on Black which fractured his leg in the process. Tony Khan, you need to stop being so arrogant and stuck up with letting your ego get in the way of booking the match cards now a days is a disgrace and not even watchable. All Elite Wrestling needs to produce better match cards on pay per view and learn how to cater to their audience more as they currently don't do so."

They demand the viewers to know every detail of the wrestlers they bring in from outside (see Ospreay finish). They demand us to watch every single weekly show, both Dynamite and Collision (see Adam Copeland). The other company might overdo it at times but they tell the viewers what they need to know. AEW also demands your attention for almost 6 hours straight. These could be all classic matches build in great storylines and rivalries by the most over wrestlers (none of which is the case), it still wouldn't warrant a 6 hour ppv. I was completely and utterly burned out by the time we got to the final matches. If they don't respect me, why should I respect them?"

Started off hot with a fun match between Ospreay & Strong which was good even if I think Strong made more sense as a winner to get Don Callis in Will's head over the tiger driver. MJF being back is good, and I'm hopeful this run is better than his last few months of 2023. Trios match was good, nothing too spectacular. Juice Robinson being back is very good for the Bang Bang Gang. Deeb VS Storm was easily the best match of the Timeless Toni run, since her last few PPV outings have been quite disappointing. Trent VS Cassidy was a very nothing match with the usual OC roll-up after getting destroyed finish. I don't really see where Trent goes with his mismanaged feud with Cassidy and generic heel character, and the OC/Don Callis stuff is not something I want either. The FTW triple threat was very dumb with a few bright spots sprinkled in. I don't like the booking of the learning tree character, the involvement of poor Bryan Keith, and the continuous mistreatment of Shibata. Takeshita VS Mox was one of the better recent Mox matches, with some great limb targeting by Takeshita. I'm saddened by Takeshita losing though, as I don't know where he goes after suffering so many major losses in a row this year (Ospreay, Swerve, Mox, etc.). Malakai VS Cope was real fun, loved the house of black turn swerve and the gangrel appearance. Crazy that Copeland can still go the way he does. Willow VS Mercedes was sweet, even though I preferred Willow winning. The Kris Statlander heel turn after felt quite rushed, which is unfortunate. Swerve VS Christian was great, another amazing outing for Swerve in this title reign that I think he really needed, and Christian continues to be one of the best heels in the world. Lastly AITA was absolutely INSANE. Loved every second of it and had a ton of crazy moments that were more insane as the match continued. Easily my favorite iteration of this stipulation and a perfect way to close this show."

The show was paced incredibly well, with high impact matches, huge returns (MJF! ), a triple main event that began with deafening, near constant chants for Willow Nightingale and Mercedes Mone and ending with the chaos of the Anarchy in the Arena match, with Jack Perry being set on fire, Nick Jackson jumping off of the tunnels, and Darby Allin being strung up and superkicked in the face with thumbtacked Reeboks. The show flew by, and the sounds from the arena are still echoing in my brain! My voice is still hoarse and my ears are still ringing. I thought Revolution was the best PPV this year. It also encapsulated much of what I find profoundly frustrating about AEW at present. The matches were virtually all at least good (with a couple of exceptions), but by the end I was just glad the show was finally over. Strong vs. Ospreay was a great start, but it was also marred by all the needless shenanigans. Ospreay winning this meaningless belt is interesting, given hes pretty much the most over guy they have, but hes running around with a mid-card belt as opposed to being in the upper echelon. Great match though: ****1/ 4. The Trios Title Match was very good, but yet more shenanigans made me groan in apathy. Juice returning also got forgotten amongst the sheer magnitude of happenings on this show: ***1/ 2. Toni vs. Serena was good stuff too, they pulled it together after a bit of a disinteresting start, and Storm played it relatively straight here, which is always a plus: ***1/ 4. The show went into totally disinteresting for a while from here, with Orange vs. Trent (**1/ 2) and the FTW silliness (**1/ 4), really testing ones patience. Moxley and Takeshita pulled it back with another very good outing: ***1/ 2. Copeland vs. Black saw yet more overbooking, but was still a really good blood bath, despite the fact it looked like Copeland broke his leg inexplicably coming off that cage feet first. I never thought a Gangrel run-in would be something Id pop for in 2024, but here we are: ***3/ 4. Willow vs. Mercedes was another excellent match, and Mone looked really good for someone who hasnt wrestled in a year. Of course, yet more overbooking with the heel turns in the post match was incredibly tiresome, but didnt detract from the match itself: ****. Swerve vs. Christian was a very good first defence from Strickland, but yet again, it was mired in overbooking and interference, to the point I felt like I was watching a TNA PPV from the late 2000s: ***1/ 2. And Anarchy In The Arena was another wild brawl, but really were in law of diminishing returns territory with this gimmick now. I was really loving this for the first 12-15 minutes, but then it just kept going and going and going. This was lots of fun, but it definitely outstayed its welcome: ****+."

Also can't review this show without talking about the MJF return, maybe it was a bit of a long segment for a PPV but talking is kind of Max's thing so I can't get too upset about it, especially given that it was a quality segment. It was long and filled with fairly unessescary matches that could have just been on TV instead of PPV a 13 minute segment that just didn't belong here or was placed in the wrong spot on the card. It started off hot with a really fun International Championship match with Ospreay and Roddy than it was followed by a lot of mediocre until the IWGP Eliminator with Mox and Takeshita. There was just a poor lack of structure and a lot of the matches felt the same. Copeland vs Malakai was pretty sad, I don't think it helped House of Blacks presentation in the slightest having them get beat up by Gangrel it made them look like a big group of dorks if I'm being honest. I do hope Copeland is okay after that cage dive, that really looked nasty. The triple main event concept hopefully never happens again because it makes zero sense and it devalues the main event spot, I understand the thought process of not wanting Swerve to not "Main Event" as world champions but it isn't any better him having to share the main event with 2 other matches. Just let him be the seccond last match while Anarchy in the arena closes the show since it was going to be a mess to clean up, people with a brain would understand why it was done this way. The triple threat at revolution wasn't the main event and thats because Stings retirement was the main event. I think Swerve vs Christian Cage was really underrated they did some fun spots (The spear countered by the house call and the swerve stomp on the announce table) both were stellar and I think this is one of Christians best AEW matches in quite some time. Willow vs Mercedes was just meh at best, Mercedes has always done way too much in her match to the point that it's almost nothing at all. They worked the ankle but that ankle played no part in the finish because the finish was a counter from a top rope counter by Mercedes into a botched version of her finisher. Willow's selling was amazing which makes me more disapointed in the lack of using that selling to work into the finish. Going to keep my review of Anarchy in the Arena pretty simple it just isn't my type of match and I just didn't like it I think there are better ways to use Okada, Danielson and FTR than putting them into a match like this.Overall I just don't think this was the right show to have to celebrate 5 years of AEW."

Honestly, AEW are hitting more than they are missing and that this show was as good as it was it exceptional. Yes, this could have done with being 2-4 matches shorter, but if that's the worst thing you can say? This is pretty exceptional. This also proves to me that Khan is trying so hard to build PPV cards like the best NJPW shows (go from least to most interesting) while also taking something major from WWE PPVs of the past decade (treat the first match as a hugely important slot) which is such an interesting way to build it. I'd love to see a bit more quality control in the amount of matches on the card (8 tops on the main card, move more to the pre-show if you like) as that main show needs a bit more breathing room."

That turns a 4.5h show into a way easier to watch 3.5h show. The opener was great, MJF cut one of the greatest promos of all time, Willow/Mercedes was the hottest women's match I've ever seen in AEW. The Moné deal already paid off big, the women can now believably main event shows, she turned Willow into a star with that one feud. Anarchy in the Arena was creative, violent and everything you'd hope for. Spots like Darby jumping off the stands in the exact moment The Final Countdown refrain hits is just epic. Copeland vs Black was surprisingly fun, Swerve's defense was better than his Joe match in my opinion. But while writing this, it's already too much to digest, there's too much on this show. Statlander's turn was completely wasted, it had no time to breath, that's just wasting big moments. AEW turned from a weekly TV centered approach to a PPV-centric one and they are overdoing it. Leave some moments for the 5 (! ) hours of weekly TV time, don't overbook your PPVs, everything suffers from it. I think if you cut the aforementioned stuff you're looking at a show that gets a way better reception. It's still good, but way too long for my liking."

Low point of the show was probably the Trios Title match and the FTW Title match, but I still thought both were very enjoyable. That's how great this PPV was."

The FTW 3way was a bit better than the rating suggests, but if youre looking for a more hardcore environment, I suggest fast forwarding to the main event. That match had it all. Strong vs. Ospreay: MOTN, Ospreay continues to steal the show at every show he appears and I already foresee a big run with the International belt (****1/4). BBG vs. DT: two trios that I really enjoy watching, I like the dynamics of both the champions and the challengers who put on a good performance (****), Toni vs. Deeb: "Timeless" Toni's reign is getting better every day, the character is pure entertainment, and now the matches are getting better, she overcame her defense against Thunder Rosa (***3/4). OC vs. Trent: I personally didn't understand why turning Trent if he was supposed to lose in his first big match, I thought it was kind of pointless (**3/4). Jericho vs. Hook vs. Shibata: it was the weakest match of the night, but it had more fun than the previous one, I'm completely entertained by Learning Tree, Jericho is a genius (**1/2). Mox vs. Takeshita: they should have made Takeshita win, apart from the feud against Omega, they put him in an inescapable limbo, at least he continues to have great matches (****). Cope vs. Black: the bloodyfest of the card, I was surprised by Cope's defense, which I believed would drop, but he made a good match with the special touch of the participation of our favorite vampire Gangrel (***1/2). Willow vs. Mone: comment in matchguide (***). Swerve vs. Christian: Swerve needs more to consolidate himself as champion and not fall into ostracism (***1/4). Anarchy In The Arena: total chaos, both at the beginning with the songs playing and in the spots, all the big moments were starred by Perry or Allin (****). I saved the best for last, which was the return of MJF (HHH 2002 vibes), reactivating the feud against Adam Cole and releasing a great promo that our scumbag will remain All Elite, that moment alone was worth a point. Final grade (7.5/10)"

It wasn't necessarily a negative for the show but was definitely beyond what is typically the norm in AEW. The elements in the first 4 matches were even welcome additions to the show. But the 5th match (FTW) was kind of where the overbooking got a little stale. More specifically, the Bryan Keith reveal was a Cole Karter moment. The enhanced scripting elements didn't really stop, though were typically well received throughout the night. But what I will say though is while the TNT championship match was fun and enjoyable chaos, I know for me personally the final match (Anarchy) just started feeling like excessive gratuitous violence when I, as a viewer, had pretty much had my fill and was ready to commit the show to memory. I give the show 7.5/10."

I get they have this enormous, bloated roster and they don't want to waste anyone, but like, the trios match and OC match could've been moved to Zero Hour or Dynamite so that at the very least the show could be sub-four hours. Some weird booking calls, namely with Mox/Take. Some predictable booking calls, namely Mone/Nightingale. The OC vs Trent battle of the jobbers also had no business being anywhere near this card either. For the final negative, unfortunately Mox continued his poor run. That match was slow and pondering and worked to Moxleys limitations in the worst way. Takeshita should have gone over. Otherwise, this PPV was wall to wall bangers. Ospreay and roddy put on a clinic. MJF made his comeback and showed us what we have been missing with an exceptional promo full of fire. All things considered, this was a belter."

But unlike those two other two, it didn't have nearly as strong marquee matchups, which is fine until it stops being fine. Double or Nothing was 4 and a half hours long, and the bulk of it was really fun, but there were also some matches that really didn't need to be there, which I'll make sure to go over. Ospreay v. Strong was a fun opener yet it had one of the scariest looking bumps in recent memory (I hope he doesn't do that again), looking forward to see Ospreay dethrone Orange Cassidy as the best AEW International Champion ever. MJF's return could've been a Dynamite segment. The trios match was a massive letdown, I wanted more out of it. Toni Storm keeps maintaining that balance between character work and in-ring talent, but this time against a wrestler I really don't care about. Cassidy v. Beretta was also underwhelming, especially since this match has two wrestlers I'm fond of. The FTW three way made me wanna remove my fucking brain Shibata-style. I can't believe they're dragging Bryan Keith into this. Although I'm glad Big Bill didn't get impaled during that suplex on the table, I was scared for him. Moxley v. Takeshita was fine but not up to their standards, and that would be because the quality of Moxley's matchups vary depending on his opponent. The last 4 matches range from good to great. If I were to rank them from less to most favorite, it would be the following: Barbed Wire Steel Cage was good, Cope's Brood entrance was cool, his top rope jump was so fucking scary, I hope his ACL's are okay. And I really popped for Gangrel's appearance, Strickland v. Cage had the coolest counter of the night with Strickland making his terrible House Call finisher by countering Christian's spear. Mone v. Nightingale is one of the best North American women's match ever despite Mercedes' terribly botched finish. And Anarchy In The Arena had the most fun moments of the night, particularly when the wrestlers were fighing for the aux cord and the revelation of Tony once again spending hundreds of thousands of dollars for a shiver-inducing usage of The Final Countdown. Rad flamethrower spot, Tony's rolling was very funny bad. Finish was eh. Anyway, this PPV had more unneeded excesses than AEW's other PPV's this year, but it was still satisfying."

[7.0] "It's easy for me to want to be reactionary and give this show either a higher or lower score than fits. I have substantial criticisms of AEW Double or Nothing, but several of the matches last night were the best the business has seen over the past month. Despite the mixed feelings, I can't deny that Double or Nothing deserves exactly the score I'm giving -- something more than satisfactory but not quite good. A proper 7. The unfortunate truth here is that the same issues AEW seems to have show to show remain consistent. Top performers in AEW continue to be exceptional. There's a steep gap between those performers and the midcard, but they are nonetheless booked together to the detriment of story and match quality. The booking is ultimately what causes these issues, and shows no signs of improving. A new issue that's cropped up, however, is an apathy toward match quality among this midcard. Previously, you'd expect some midcarders to step up and perform above their level at a PPV. But in this show, those wrestlers did nothing of the sort. Instead we had lazy matches filled with interference, TV-quality spots and bumps, and poor overall match pacing and psychology. The matches I'm talking about include the trios title, the women's world title, OC's rerun grudge match, Jericho's rerun FTW match, and Mox's NJPW forgone conclusion. That's half the card putting on matches I'd be ambivalent about even if they were on TV. There were still standout efforts within those matches. Rey Fenix is one of the industry's most outstanding talents. Takeshita deserves so much more than losing to a supposedly significantly injured Mox. The other matches were exhausting in a five-hour PPV and on a case by case basis many of them I'd rather not see with PPV matches in the future. Both the Ospreay and Swerve matches weren't much better, if I'm being honest. The key difference is that the two are both so exceptionally talented that even disappointing opponents weren't enough to bring the matches down substantially. Roddy and Christian both doing in-ring work by numbers and relying on interference from even worse wrestlers sucked a lot of air out of both matches. But man, Ospreay is athletically incredible and Swerve is both extremely creative and willing to bump for the business. The three best matches of the night were easily Copeland's defense against Malakai Black, Mercedes vs. Willow, and the Anarchy clusterfuck. The cagematch was brutal, had some of the most exciting spots of Double or Nothing, and was unique among the rest of the card. Willow and Mercedes featured the two most exciting women in the women's division at the moment beating the crap out of each other. And Anarchy was just pure insanity. MVP Darby Allin, as he always seems to be. Ending the night on such a strong note is such an important part of making the show feel overall better. And that's ultimately what improved this show from fine to something more."

I also think with PPVs being almost monthly now, you can spread things out a bit better and give more people chances to shine rather than overloading a show. The bloat also resulted in them moving on from moments that could have been more impactful with a chance to soak in and digest, specifically Ospreay's title win and Statlander turning on Willow, far too quickly. As I was typing this, I forgot Trent teasing quitting and Bryan Keith joining the Learning Tree were also two moments that were overlooked way too quickly. The length of the show also left me spent, not excited for what was to come on Wednesday. Ospreay vs. Strong I think was the MOTN, with the Anarchy in the Arena and Willow vs Mone being the other top tier matches. If you cut 3-4 of the lesser matches, you'd have an overall more satisfying experience, and I think that's what AEW should be aiming for. I promise, if you have a killer 6-7 match show, nobody will feel cheated."

I enjoyed Double or Nothing and AEW rarely has a bad PPV but 12 matches over nearly 6 hours is rough. Also, calling multiple matches main events was another complaint so many had years back. If this PPV was six matches and one Zero Hour match then this wouldve been paced really well and not had as many similar and repetitive spots and moves. Couldve easily just been the AEW International, AEW Womens, AEW Trios, AEW World, AEW TBS, and Anarchy in the Arena matches. Wouldve been paced really well. Also was surprised to see the MJF/Cole angle happen so early and not on Dynamite. Crowd got burnt out right after but did recover as the show went on. A lot of good and fun matches here that I do think some couldve been saved for Dynamite and Collision but that MJF promo was so good that it covered up for a poorly designed tattoo. I do think AEW has an issue with being too predictable when it comes to match outcomes."

Being in the GMT+3 timezone I had to quit during OC vs Trent knowing it was going to run much longer. While AEW most certainly doesn't shy away from including hardcore spots and gore they do not know when to stop. Three of those and you are burn out already. I'll say for the sake of storylines except for Takeshita (and perhaps Mone which is a big discussion to have) all the winners were right and somewhat predictable. I once said Ospreay and Strong had to wrestle like gods to redeem their storyline. Well, I gotta say it could have been better for sure but it was a damn good match perhaps the MOTN. Ospreay's promo on Collision was already fire but he got ten times better in-ring psychology and he can tell a good story though I must admit I am not still into all that tiger driver 91 shit. Undisputed Kingdom got caught early on and Roderick went on solo to have a great match, he lost in glory some would say. After that we have a stiff and intense promo from a returning MJF. Cool moment but could have been easily saved for Dynamite. Bang Bang Gang vs Death Triangle was fun but it never shifted up to next gear, became just another match on the card. Good to see Juice back. I very much liked Toni vs Deeb and it had one single important angle (Mariah getting ready to throw the towel) that will set up a potential match in the future. Both ladies wrestled a great technical match and finally Toni stepped out of her gimmick's shadows. OC vs Trent was going on pretty good although a bit classic. That finish kinda had to happen to give Trent another edge, I knew it was not ending there. FTW became the 'sports entertainment' part of AEW. Bunch of non-sense stuff that is somewhat fun but emberrassing at the same time. Bryan Keith returned heel once again (this shit doesn't matter in AEW after all) aligning by Jericho. Now we have 4 wrestlers got caught in Jericho vortex. I guess it gives them more TV time, who am I to judge. Moxley vs Takeshita was odd in all manners. What Hobbs did that Takeshita have not accomplished to receive a direct title shot where Takeshita goes through an eliminator? If this is an eliminator match why Takeshita did lose when you could easily strecth it to a second match? If this is done all because Takeshita can walk away from Callis, that chair spot is nonsense to begin with. Takeshita being unable to defeat a clearly hurt Mox (great selling from him btw) is just bollocks knowing whose did defeat Takeshita just a few months before this shit. Steel cage match, to some degree, lived up to the expectations after WM39. HoB swerve was exciting and people reacted crazy for Gangrel (and that pretty much debunked people wouldn't care for a Gangrel cameo). Besides those though, it was tough to watch as in some spots were just madness. Copeland can do these, cool, but at what cost I wonder. Not sure what Malakai's loss meant to be here. TBS title match was another highlight of the show. I'll give Mercedes her flowers but Nightingale made me a fan there. She is probably one of the best powerhouse wrestlers out there. Kris/Nightingale, I believe, supposed to be AEW's Dakota/Tegan moment. I sensed it but Statlander turning on Nightingale after shoving Stokely to the ground made it even better. I still wish Nightingale retained, Mone receiving a free title shot and winning it is not a great look. Looking at the champions (Copeland, Okada, now Ospreay and Mone) AEW is an attraction zone for top talent but homegrown stars start to suffer. Swerve vs Cage was not really 'it'. A decent match but hurt a lot by constant interferences and this happened after 2 batshit matches, crowd was tired. Swerve's stomp also kills the whole immersion. Main event was the definition of shitshow and I am the one who liked all the Anarch of Arena matches. The music part was fun everything went total nuts after Jack Perry hit Allin with that bus. He had 3 spots or what? Flamethrower finally did its job but why tho? Is it fun? Sure one might say. It's that nutjob to a point where you mindlessly have fun. But it's an overkill. What are they going to do in the next Anarchy in the Arena? Actually kill a wrestler? It needs a balance between a good wrestling match and being over the top. This was waaaay too over the top. It established the Elite's dominance if anything."

Unfortunately, the issues with this one kind of overshadow the bright spots. I wasn't super invested in any of the matches during the build, aside from anticipating the chaos of Anarchy in the Arena. But that's never an indicator of quality for an AEW PPV, as their "sleeper" cards can turn out to be incredible (All Out 2023). The biggest problem here was pacing. 4 and a half hours is really only 30 more minutes then your typical AEW PPV runtime, but this felt longer due to some strange card placement decisions. The MJF segment either needed to be at the end, on Dynamite, or completely redone. It was way too long and came right after the first match, which made it feel less big than it should have been. Second, about half of the card was overlong and rough to sit through. Death Triangle/BBG was a Dynamite match, Orange/Baretta was surprisingly sluggish, Jericho/Hook/Shibata was genuinely horrible, and Moxley/Takeshita had its own slew of issues. That's way more whiffs than I'd expect, which ate up a chunk of the runtime. By the time the main events rolled around, I was genuinely ready to stop watching, or at least just get to Anarchy in the Arena for the pure spectacle of it. Apparently Mone/Willow was great, but I was so wrestled-out that I couldn't get into it. It was like watching something on autopilot. Swerve/Christian was sort of the same way, but picked up towards the end. The main event, thankfully, delivered on all fronts and left me satisfied. But overall, I think the booking on the show as a whole could have been tweaked. There was a lot of interference and fuckery that made this seem more like a Dynamite than Double or Nothing. And I don't care what anyone says, Gangrel had the pop of the night and was one of the most fun spots I can remember off the top of my head. Pure fanservice, and it's great to see him get a payday."

As a whole 4.5 hours for a main card is just too long and it suffered for it, many of the matches I enjoyed could have been even better if they were cut a little shorter, and the whole card would be more meaningful if they focused on storylines building to less matches that meant more. It was refreshing to a see a women's match that really delivered within AEW however and hopefully this is the start of a stronger more compelling women's division. My issue with the show was the length of time it was which is way too long then add into the fact that the amount of cringe moments we had in the Copeland versus Black match and the main event. The barbed wire steel cage match itself had its moments but the moments of having the crown on the head felt as cringe as Raven and Sandman in 96 then the crossface move which felt like a messed up Benoit reference was just awful. The main event was nothing more than glorified backyard nonsense. That main event made me ashamed to say I am a pro wrestling fan, it was that bad. Again the show had good moments and matches as we did see MJF return but overall the event went on forever and the main event was glorified backyard nonsense. Cassidy/Trent could've used a stipulation to up it. But we used the cage match on Malakai/Copeland, in a feud we've already seen elsewhere. MJF gets a long promo 18 min into the show that really needed to just be on dynamite. That all aside Will/Roddy, Mercedes/Willow, Takeshita existing, Swerve/Christian, and Anarchy were all a blast. Overall a good time but the lows really pulled it down."

There was a long stretch after the opener where basically every match ranged from 'mediocre' to outright 'bad'. They pulled things together with a really strong series of matches at the end, but there was a while there where I definitely didn't expect my rating would end up being this high by the end of the night. I think the show really needed a solid hour (or more) removed entirely, and the entire show would have flowed better and been more impactful as a result. I did also think there were a lot of issues with booking (I have to question what the agents are paid for in AEW - how many times do we see the same general spots rehashed in multiple matches on the same PPV? ). Still, there were a number of great matches here, and while I suspect a lot of it is a bit on the 'niche' side for some people, AEW fans are certain to find something that they like. I wouldn't recommend sitting through the show in its entirety, but I do think if you cherry pick the card for the matches you're most likely to enjoy then you should have a good time here, dependent on what your taste is."

The show lulled a bit in the middle and The Moxley Takeshita and OC Trent matches were the outlier on my spectrum of hopeful quality wrestling matches but as expected from the others- they did not disappoint. MOTN for me was Ospreay and Strong, followed VERY closely by Willow and Mone which I'm glad was an excellent match after the long debut of Mone over 1 month ago. Anarchy in the Arena truly lived up to its name with a finish I didn't think would happen though still very entertaining albeit anxiety-inducing. Also the crowd was excellent all night long despite this being an extremely long PPV, I can't imagine being in the arena since 5/6pm and leaving at around 1230am. The show ran a bit longer than usual (though surprisingly it didn't bother me) but the crowd stayed excellent, great pacing and a great crowd are to be rewarded."

There was a lot of good, not great, wrestling but asking to watch more than 4 hours of good wrestling in one sitting is a big ask. I did get a laugh from the main event: doing the overly long music spot with Darby just because they did it before with Mox had me thinking this was lame, but for the Young Bucks and then Danielson to get on the mic and call an audible about the music was genius."

A pair of great title matches (Willow/Mercedes, Swerve/Christian) and a handful of "solid matches that felt like TV bouts" were dragged down by three absolutely terrible pieces of junk (Copeland/Black, FTW title, Anarchy in the Arena). Combine that massive inconsistency with an MJF return angle that was way too long and a show runtime that I believe was about four and a half hours, and it's getting hard to recommend the next PPV. AEW please: It's okay to trim the fat and send some of these matches to TV main events. If this show were an hour shorter, it would have been much easier to swallow, even if the general match quality had been the same."

Until Strickland/Christian, the best match of the night was the opening match with seven matches in-between. AEW has a lot of talent but the overall feeling for the company right now lacks in investment. A show I would likely rate a bit higher if not for the runtime as well as some bizarre booking choices such as Takeshita needlessly losing to Moxley. Christian/Strickland was my MOTN. On a PPV, the show was also littered with interference and distractions which isnt unusual for AEW but noticeable nevertheless."

The fact that Swerve Strickland as a World Champ seems like an afterthought to the Wlite reminds me of Punk being an afterthought to John Cena. Tony claims he doesnt want to be an on screen character and yet has been on screen so much as of late. Willow and Ospreay are awesome talents. I do not believe in the Bucks or Jack Perry as threatening talents. The decision to have Mone go over Willow is questionable, including having this be Mercedes first match. The major matches all hit the mark but didn't particularly exceed it, Nothing actively bad either, but there were some messy spots peppered throughout the show that had me worried (Copeland's cage jump, Big Bill's table spot, Ospreay's Doomsday Device spot, etc). OC vs Trent had the wrong winner. Trent looks really bad after that loss (-1). FTW Match was surprisingly funny with a finish I really didn't saw coming (+1). Mox vs Takeshita was solid but the Politics between NJPW, AEW (and DDT) surely weren't easy (+-0). Steel Cage Match was really enjoyable. I fully expected the turn of Brody but was fooled. Cool to see Gangrel as well (+1). TBS Match was probably the best womans match in AEW in a really long time. Turn from Stat and Stokely was well done. (+1). I really expected Swerve and Christian to be MOTN but it just didn't click with me. But at least a credible Title defense for Swerve (+-0). AITA was too much for me. The man who was set on fire was the same guy who won the match. (-1). To nitpick: too much interference/shenanigans, and I hated the decision to pin Takeshita as well as Shibata. The FTW title serves no purpose and needs to go. Mercedes impressed me tonight as well, I thought she would look far more rusty than she did (minus the finisher) that was one of the best womens matches in AEW to date. Hard hitting and they really wanted to put on a banger you could tell. Stat turning on Willow was heartbreaking but interesting story wise going forward. Can we just have a winner and a loser please? Also, several matches went longer than they should have, leading to a card that just kept going and going. This seems to be a particularly big problem with Double or Nothing, as I believe it has surpassed 5 hours in the past as well. Osprey Roddy was fun, except for the dumb UK spots, and the tiger driver nonsense. The trios match was there. The Women's title match stunk, especially the 3+ variations on extended standing switches. The FTW match was a fine Rampage match shoehorned onto a card that did NOT need more plunder. Mox and Takeshita had a fun match, and I thought there was a lot of creativity put into working over and around the arm, though the finish wasn't good. The cage match was tedious, and full of annoying grade school haunted house nonsense. Mercedes has the mind but not the body to have a quality match with Willow. It looked like Willow was play fighting with a child. Swerve and Christian was quite a good traditional main event. Anarchy in the Arena was...well, Anarchy in the Arena.
