Dazwischen passierte In-Ring nichts besonders Erwähnenswertes, mit Abstrichen kann Sakazaki vs. Adora durchaus etwas überzeugen, während LionHook vs. STP das schwächste Match des Abends war. Abseits des Rings war Lionhook ebenfalls das Lowlight, während die restlichen Segmente insgesamt sehr ordentlich waren. |

| 14 | 17.05.2024 | Sandmann | 7.0 | Mir gefällt Collision im Moment wirklich gut da der Schwerpunkt dort auf dem Wrestling liegt und das funktioniert meistens wirklich gut. So auch heute. Ging direkt mit einem guten Opener zwischen FTR und Top Flight los. Das war ein ordentliches Tag Team Match mit einem guten Stilclash. Irgendwann wird sich Top Flight in so einem Match auch mal den Sieg holen. Hat mir gut gefallen. PAC vermöbelt danach Encore recht eindeutig wie es auch sein sollte. Das Tag Team Match danach war ganz ok und zum Glück auch nicht zu lange. Daher war das auch noch ok. Der Sieg des HOB war nötig aber ich fand die Kombo von Keith/Daniels/Sydal auch recht spannend. Die haben gut miteinander funktioniert. Gerne wieder. Yuka ist wieder da und das gefällt mir natürlich gut. Das Match gegen Adora war vollkommen ok und recht ordentlich. Castagnoli brauchte auch mal wieder einen Sieg und der gegen Butcher war das schon recht eindrucksvoll. Mein MOTN ist aber ohne Frage der Main Event. Penta und Komander haben richtig Bock auf das Match und das merkt man auch sofort. Ganz starkes Wrestling und gute Action. Hat mir sehr gefallen. |

The matches on this card were a little weak, but the show had a strong start and finish, and also had mostly really good segments. My favourite match of the show was FTR vs Top Flight; although Penta vs Komander was right behind it. There was a few matches I didn't fully care for on this show, but the main one was Claudio vs Butcher. PAC challenging Okada was really good. I liked Dustin challenging Joe and Joe's response later. Julia Hart and Daniel Garcia got good pre-tapes. I didn't care for Anthony Ogogo joining Shane Taylor Promotions. A solid late night Collision. |

Der Rest war solide und in Ordnung. |

Lion Hook took on Shane Taylor Productions to set up Lion Hook vs. Shane Taylor Productions next week. I feel like that feud isn't going anywhere. The House of Black took on the jobber squad of Christopher Daniels, Matt Sydel, and Bryan Keith in a surprisingly enjoyable match. Yuka Sakazaki returns with a good win over Trish Adora. we then get the "Dear God, Why? " Match of the Night as Claudio Castagnoli gets five minutes with the Butcher. It's better than it could have been, but anything else would still have been better. Even another Lion Hook promo. Finally, Alex Abrahantes brings us our Match of the Night, as Penta El Zero Miedo and Komander put on a lucha clinic. |

I didn't love the main event but this show really needed something like that which was all action to save it from being really dull. A muted audience and weird timings throughout the night caused further issues. The opener was full of said timing issues. Moore appeared to roll too far away for Pac to hit his Black Arrow. The House of Black seriously lack momentum and won't get it by going up against Danielson and co. Yuka became somewhat of a tiny powerhouse in TJPW but I can see her having to rely more on the aerial stuff against the bigger women in AEW for her return. I don't think I remember a single thing from Claudio vs The Butcher. A two-hour Rampage episode dominated by jobbers and those a step or two above them in the current hierarchy. It's interesting that they're teasing backstage footage from Wembley last year but if it was THE footage, I'd have to imagine they'd be more specific. If you ask yourself which would be likely to draw more viewers - a promise of the actual Punk footage or a vague reference to "backstage at Wembley", which really could be anything, it's the former by a margin so large it would be a gigantic mistake not to advertise it as such. Hopefully it's an entertaining angle at the very least. |

The matches were a lot more mid-card than you might normally get on a Collision, but that's not surprising on a show that was airing mostly after midnight on WrestleMania weekend. What we did get however, was a fantastically structured episode of television wrestling. More than an hours worth of mostly good, one great (Penta x Komander), and one bad (Sakazaki x Adora) matches. In between, there were a lot of interviews and promos on the show. Good variety in there as well, with very professional sports style interviews with Danielson and Osprey, a moody monologue with Dustin, spooky bollocks from the goth dorks, and standard backstage interviews with Lexi. This is how you do talking in wrestling: 30-90 seconds, looking into a camera, talking about your goals in the sport or an upcoming match. |

Diese Episode von Collision zeigt deutlich ein sehr großes Problem von AEW: Es müssen IMMER gute Matches sein. Ja, AEW hat im Durchschnitt gute Weekly Matches, was bleibt allerdings, wenn diese weg bleiben? In diesem Fall sieht man es recht klar: nicht viel. Wenn diese Ansetzungen mit interessanten oder tiefgründigen Storylines, Characters oder sonstigen Geschichten verbunden wären, wäre diese Folge sicherlich nicht 2 Punkte Wert, wie ich sie heute bewerte. Leider hat sie das nicht, wie so oft bei AEW. Es bleibt also eine unterdurchschnittliche Weekly mit (meist) uninteressanten Matches. Einfach nicht gut. |

The show was preempted due to basketball and didn't air on TNT until the middle of the night, meaning it will likely be the least-viewed episode of Collision this year. Given these circumstances, it's not surprising the booking treated this episode as an afterthought. This episode was taped right after Dynamite on Wednesday as well, so the crowd was quiet for most of it. There was nothing bad here, but nothing worth going out of your way for. The main event, Penta vs. Komander, was the strongest showing here and the only thing about the show I'd recommend. The rest felt like filler. |

Solide Übergangsshow, mehr kann man von einer pre Taped weekly die sich dem undankbaren Spot gegenüber Wrestlemania bewusst ist auch denke ich nicht verlangen. |

Ansonsten stach noch der Main Event hervor. Ich fand auch Yuka Sakazaki vs. Trish Adora solide und das Six Man Tag Team Match fand ich auch noch passabel. Die Aftermaths, wenn es sie denn gab, haben auch fast überall funktioniert. Adam Copelands Attacke auf das House of Black passte. Serena Deeb konfrontierte Yuka, was ich auch spannend finde. Nur Ogogo hätte es nicht gebraucht, aber immerhin wird man so Shibata bei den Faces einbinden. Die sonstigen Segmente fand ich auch solide. |
