[9.0] "A very good episode of Dynamite! The opener was great with some amazing spots, fast-paced action and great chemistry shown by two of the best wreslters in the wolrd right now. The pillars package videos were all great. Christian Cage is a fantastic heel and his promo was also great. Miro and Thunder Rosa's returns were unexpected and incredible as well as Tony Khan teasing the new weekly show. The no holds barred and the International title match were dissapointing: the first one was sloppy and in general bad while the second had a great ending but the rest of the match was pretty boring even if Garcia was amazing. The trios title match was good but it was cut short: just when they had to kick in the second gear, the match ended. The main event was crazy: fantastic with some incredible spots and one of the most amazing turns ever! Overall: fantastic episode."
[7.0] "Tony Khan put a lot of hype on this Dynamite with a super stacked card. Overall, it was a good show but there were a few flaws. I think they abused of promo packages and interviews. A lot of time passed between the first and second matches. Christian's promo was unnecessary and could be a shorter interview on the ramp. I don't get why the 4 Pillars packages were all broadcast tonight, as the match is 3 weeks away. Turning to the matches, Claudio vs Fenix was good. OC vs Garcia was pretty cool and Garcia's character work is getting better every time. He's a huge star in the making. Julia vs Anna Jay was cool and they told a great story and did some great character work, even though they need to get more athletic and more fluid in the ring. The Trios match was a bit boring but the entrances and the setup made it feel important. The main event was grueling and freaking awesome. The Don Callis betrayal was unexpected and makes you craving for next week."
[9.0] "Very good Dynamite. Loved the 4 pillars segments where they highlighted the differences between them and all four looked good. All the matches were at least good and most were very good to great. Glad to see Miro and Rosa returning. Christian had a great promo and Callis's heel turn was really well done."
[8.0] "Decent show and one of the best Dynamites in months. Far from perfect though but thoroughly watchable. The opener and the main were very good as were the surprise returns and the pillars promos. Could have done without the womens match and the daft open house match."
[7.0] "I mean, it was a very good and consistent show. I just don't get what it did to get such a high rating. Most of the matches, while good, underdelivered, and every segment was solid but nothing special. is that what it takes?"
[6.0] "I didn't like the main event as much as the current average here but it was still a decent match even if I was a little disappointed by the runtime (with several minutes of that going down the drain during the match itself). This was kind of a weird episode. There were big returns teased, two fairly good matches to start things off, and the four pillars promos which I thought were all pretty good. MJF's especially, not just because of his delivery but the great editing job which went with it. Momentum really fell off before the main event, though, starting with a No Holds Barred match, of all things. I was somewhat disappointed by this episode even if I'd put it in that '6' or '7' range."
[10.0] "Excellent Dynamite. Every match delivered how it should, and the ending of the Cage Match was a perfect way to continue the BCC/Elite storyline. 10/10"
[10.0] "This felt like the type of episode you'd want to show new viewers to get them hooked. Well done video packages throughout the evening highlighting the young pillars and their upcoming PPV main event bout. Elite vs BCC feud continues to captivate, Orange Cassidy is doing for the International Title what RVD did for the ECW TV Title, House of Black is always a welcome sight and I dig the Open House rules, Julia Hart has really been impressing me lately and it's good to a see a mid-card women's feud, and they kicked us off with a slapper between Claudio and Fenix. I can't ask for much more."
[5.0] "I'm usually not *this* low on the higher rated Dynamites, but I genuinely thought this was a pretty mediocre show with only a few highlights. Claudio vs Fenix was a good little match. Fenix's high-flying was great as usual, and Claudio's powerhouse offence and strength displays were also impressive. A few bits of awkward chemistry or overly choreographed interactions here and there, but for the most part their interactions were well-executed and fun. ***1/4. The hype videos from the perspective of each of the "4 young pillars" were pretty good, giving a nice look at how each guy thinks and an indication of how they're like outside of the wrestling world. Great to see Miro FINALLY return after God knows how long he was away for. FTR's segment with the Lethal-Jarrett crew and Mark Briscoe was fun, if only for Mark being a loveable goofball as always. I'm not very interested in the tag match with Mark as the guest ref, though, especially since we got a generic 'accidental' spot where Dax piledrived Mark to produce some faux drama for the match. Jericho's backstage promo was good, though I don't imagine he'll be very impressive in that match with Roddy that was set up. Rosa's return did nothing for me, since she's always been massively overrated, if not outright bad. Cassidy vs Garcia was alright but definitely aggravating. Garcia's submission work and limb targeting were actually pretty good, but his attempted heel-character work and most of his other attacks were typically underwhelming. I liked briefly seeing Cassidy's technical abilities, but then a lot of his comebacks were rather weak, and having him get a lucky win after being so heavily dominated was pretty cheesy. **3/4. Christian's promo attacking Arn and Wardlow was very well-delivered and got really good heat. Julia vs Anna was a totally generic, messy hardcore match where none of their weapon/prop spots even looked good, and their actual wrestling interactions were very mediocre or outright sloppy. Very boring match. *3/4. Julia lip-syncing her own entrance theme is massive dork energy, too. The Trios Titles match was alright but pretty forgettable. The best interactions were between Black and Bandido, and Murphy and King did some fun individual stuff, with all working at a good pace though still not doing anything especially creative. What was even more disappointing was the Best Friends, who are beyond stale. I dont even think the 'special rules' actually had a purpose. **3/4. Fletcher attacking Cassidy backstage and then starring at the camera for so long was pretty awkward, though that match-up does interest me. Omega vs Moxley was pretty disappointing. I liked a few things, like the nasty usages of the barbed-wire chair, and some of Omega's offence, but Moxley's consistently bad selling and positioning, their mediocre other weapon/prop spots, their weak 'big moves', and the super underwhelming booking at both the start and end brought everything else down a lot. ***"
[10.0] "Top notch Dynamite here. Fenix/Claudio and Garcia/OC were fantastic TV matches. Main event was great though the final swerve is rather bizarre to me. Popped to see Miro back on my TV."
[10.0] "Detroit got a real treat here, because I don't think you can have a much better episode of Pro Wrestling tv than was aired here. Like there wasn't a bad match on the card at all and the main event was an easy 10/10 match for me. My only complaint is the same one I have for basically every AEW card which was there wasn't enough time or matches for the women, but otherwise this was near perfect."
[8.0] "This was a massive plus give the streak of somewhat rubbish shows. Great opener and main event. The video for the 4 pillars did more for the feud than any of the wonky in ring promos from previous weeks. Not sure about the dim lights for the HOB match, its a bit silly. Lets hope the streak is over and this level of quality is ongoing."
[8.0] "An uneven show but globally good with this brutal and surprising end. The opener was a good wrestling match despite the lack of a particular story between the two men. Anna and Julia still have some progress to make but this match between rivals was more interesting than another random match between a member of the Outcasts and someone close to Jamie Hayter. The Best Friends didn't show much but I liked the atmosphere of the Open House matches. Some nice promos throughout the show to liven things up. On the other hand, I still felt like falling asleep in front of a Daniel Garcia match. He's not bad but I can't get into his moveset. I feel like watching a commercial break in PIP for 10 minutes."
[8.0] "I thought overall, this was a great show. There was a great opening match, a good mid-card match, and an awesome main event to close off the show. Christian cut a great promo with a ton of heat to add to it. All of the pillars cut pre-taped promos that were good, although I have no clue why they keep trying to position Sammy as a babyface. Some of the segments were a bit eh and ridiculous , but I still thought this was a very good TV show."
[10.0] "A pretty complete program, full of good fights and straight to the point, many little things that were pretty good and I hope they continue to do."
[9.0] "Looking at the card I expected a great show and I wasn't disappointed at all. Amazing opener with Claudio and Fenix geting this is awesome chants 2 minutes after the match started, amazing main event with a great angle, the orange cassidy match was very good as usual, and the house of black matches were good but with very flat finishes. We also got some really nice promos by the four pillars, a killer promo by Christian as usual, a nice angle with FTR vs team TNA, and the return of god's favorite champ Miro.... What do you want more out of a TV show ? Best dynamite since Revolution, momentum is there"
[8.0] "A card with some GREAT feuds going on in it. Obviously the main event was the story of the night, and it really delivered. But there was also the mini feud between Anna and Julia, and the Best Friends have a growing history with House of black. The four pillars story was kept forward with a series of promos. Now, you can argue the quality of the matches or promos, of course, but there were definitely stories going on, and the fact that people are still pushing a narrative to the contrary is just lazy trolling and review bombing. Felt like a well paced episode overall. Not everything hit for me, but a solid episode with a banging main event."
[7.0] "Solid show overall. Good night for BCC and House of Black. Not so good for JAS and The Elite. AEW really put out all the stops for this week's episode."
[9.0] "A fantastic show where every match, even the worst ones (that weren't bad, just mediocre) delivered. Fantastic opener that showed more chemistry that those two men had any right to have, fun second act, and very competently paced overall show. I liked the appereance of Miro, Rosa and the pre-announcement of the new show. Everyone seems excited or on board about it, so that should make it a good deal, specially with the size and quality of that roster. The four pillars promo package were good, so not much to add about it. The main event was an absolute killer in both wrestling and storytelling; a masterclass from two men that have been at each other's throat since the beginning while never losing steam, even at it lowest (EBWM). Killer program whose rythm needs to prevail until All in, the absolute trial by fire of AEW."
[7.0] "I thought I was really going to love this show on the face of it, but none of the matches clicked for me and it was only the main even that made this a worthwhile watching experience, everything else average."
"Great show, it was good to see that the Callie heel turn generated a lot of surprise and heat from the crowd. Often so many turns fall flat but that was a great story arc to explore so it got a great reaction"
[10.0] "One of the best Dynamite episodes I've ever seen. Fenix vs. Claudio was set to be a banger from the moment it was announced but it far exceeded any expectations I had going in, Garcia did an amazing job pushing Orange to the limits while selling himself as an aggressive, cocky heel once again, and the trios match was fun as expected. That main event though was easily one of the best Dynamite matches of all time. This shit hit HARD right out of the gate and only continued to ramp up the stakes as it went on. Both men sold just how much they truly hated each other in the ring, capped off by a spot we'll be seeing in video packages for years to come and one of the most shocking turns I've seen in my years as a wrestling fan."
[7.0] "An entertaining opener and main event made for a pretty good show this week. The midcard matches were nothing special but not extremely off putting either. The segments were a little silly at times (Dax piledriving Mark) but mostly fine. The episode was fast moving and exciting enough to be an easy watch even with the flaws."
[10.0] "Oh man, this show gave me old Dynamite vibes, when everyone on screen aimed to be the best act in professional wrestling. Great show and great way to set up for Double or Nothing and the big announcement next week."
[10.0] "One of the best Dynamites yet, every match and promo was great tonight. some suprise returns, and the main event was PPV worthy. Easily one of my favorite dynamites so far."
[9.0] "About as good as a TV wrestling show can get. All it needed was to load up good matches, returns and Christian with a mic. It is no surprise that AEW is a whole lot better when it focusses on delivering hot programmes and good matches rather than the awful meta promos of the title programme and whatever the main womens feud is meant to be at this point. No reason why AEW should not deliver to these standards on a regular basis."
"(3.75/5) This was a very good show and i really enjoyed it for the most part. I thought Fenix Vs. Claudio was very good and I'm looking forward to the tag match that'll come out of that. Something about the Orange Cassidy Vs. Daniel Garcia match just felt a bit off to me. I think that was more of me problem than anything else. Just couldn't get invested in it. Maybe I've had my fill of this particular Cassidy run? The No Holds Barred match was fine but felt like it needed more time and would have benefited from a crowd who knew their story ( Side note, they mentioned on commentary that Anna Jay is the JAS, I watch this show every week and I have 0 memory of that? haha). I am a big Malakai Black apologist so I enjoyed the 6-man and the gimmick surrounding it, I would completely get why someone wouldn't enjoy it though. As much as I like the best friends and their "wacky" antics I thought the final rule "No spooky witches at ringside"- while quite funny, seemed to diminish the match and this new rules we're trying to get over. Just made it a bit of a joke of it I thought. The actual match itself I did enjoy though. Also Miro and Rosa seemingly setting up the new show by going into Khan's office was nice surprise. Don't realty have anything more to add it than that. Okay, so the main event. Out of the 4 Moxley Vs. Omega matches this was probably the weakest? But it still ruled. I love the chaotic energy the 2 bring when the face off. Genuinely feels as though anything could happen when they face off. So all in all enjoyed the cage match and it was probably my match of the show. It terms of the turn by Callis... I mean... Sure that's fine. I guess this means Takeshita will join the BCC or at least by affiliated with them. So the Elite will be a man down, I wonder if Kenny has any mates who are available? While I'll be excited to see Kota come in and kick ass. I'm less excited for the (apologies for the phrase) "Elite melodrama" i feel as though it's run it's course. However, if the end goal out of all this is make Takeshita a singles star managed by Callis then i think I can get behind that. Maybe Kenny & Kota can drop into the tag division in a couple months once the feuds over with? Anyway all in all, a good show, not a great show (can't leave an official rating due to being new... I was a Grappl Boy) PEACE FREINDS!"
[10.0] "All-timer episode of Dynamite this week. Not a dull moment in sight in this show, and the main event was as captivating as I thought it would be."
[10.0] "Every single match was great. Every promo segment was great. The return of Miro AND Thunder Rosa? This dynamite was fantastic and I'm so excited for next week."
[10.0] "cant really ask for much more. great opener followed by the return of miro. another great match followed that, and christian got some NUCLEAR heat, never heard anything like it. decent womens match, and a fun house of black defense. thunder rosa is back too, collision is gonna be nuts. kyle fletcher coming in too is great too hes a future star for sure. main event was tv moty too, absolutely incredible, with so many ways to go with it. fantastic show."
[9.0] "I have some tiny complaints but this dynamite was undeniable. Fenix vs Claudio, OC vs Garcia, Trios Match, and the Main Event all ruled, the no holds barred match overdelivered, and there were some great segments. Christian Cage is the best, the Pillars pretapes were good, Miro and Rosa returned. Roddy strong cut a bad promo but I can smell Kyle coming. The FTR segment was pretty bad but Mark Briscoe rules."
[6.0] "A first hour full of great action and interesting angle developments and returns that was dragged down by a muddled and disappointing second half."
[10.0] "A top-tier Dynamite. For sure gonna go down as one of the best Dynamites of the year. Amazing opener between Claudio and Fenix Show was filled with video packages to keep us up to date with current storylines. Miro. Thunder Rosa. Great to see the growth of wrestlers like Garcia, Julia and Anna Jay. The heat that Christian got. The HOB match with unique lighting that hopefully will happen at Wembley Stadium with glowing wrist bands for the crowd. And then the main event, PPV worthy match with the despicable heel turn of Don Callis. The hot Detroit crowd really added to this amazing show that felt like a Dynamite from its early days."
[8.0] "Crowd was way quieter than I would have expected for most of the show, but it was still a ton of fun. Two very good matches followed by two solid matches followed by the most insane main event Ive seen in a while. One of the things people dont like about AEW is predictable turns, so I was happy they managed to do one that surprised and genuinely upset me. Good to see Miro and Thunder Rosa too."
[7.0] "This show felt very oddly paced, nothing was actively bad, just weird pacing. The first hour was really good, and then I'm not sure what happened during Anna/Julia (Julia seemed legitimately hurt but I'm not sure) but it kind of killed the momentum during the 2nd hour. It was a pleasant shock seeing Miro and Rosa to set up presumably the Collision 'split', and a nice swerve in the main event. They have a lot of directions they can go following this show which is very good going forward."
[7.0] "This was a card that I was excited for an ended up disappointing. A dead crowd really hurt the atmosphere of the show, the Six Man titles match felt off, and Garcia vs. Cassidy went on forever. The main event REALLY helped elevate the show. It was a great match, the crowd finally woke up, and the turn at the end felt significant. Not an all time Dynamite like some are saying, but one of the strongest endings in a really long time."
[10.0] "Tony Khan wasn't lying when he said that this was going to be a PPV card on TV. It was great match after great match with constantly entertaining moments to keep my interest at every moment!"
[10.0] "Very easily a 10 rating for this episode. Every match delivered, big surprise returns, stories were progressed, and that main event reminded me of why I love professional wrestling. Highlights were Anna Jay, the Dark arena for The House of Black, with Malakai versus Bandido. Rey Fenix and Claudio had a fun match, as did OC and DG. Garcia was able to get brutal, and he showed that promise he had before his Sammy time with JAS. And the videos for the 4 way pillar match REALLY sold it. But that main event was cinema. Even Danielson smiling was just amazing."
[10.0] "Easy 10/10 Dynamite. 3 really good matches, a couple decent ones, a heated live promo, and then wrapped up with a goddam great cagematch. My only quibble would have been to move the pillars promos (which were really good) to another week to leave more time for that amazing cagematch. But the match was amazing, the cage breaking had me hollering, and the Callis turn was perfectly done. 10/10"
