[6.0] "Not a good show for NXT three times in a row now . The in ring action was IMPACT on its best night or even better . I will not go as far or be un realistic to call it one of the worst go home shows as the build up was really good with vignettes and some promos. I loved the Shirai/Raquel stuff with Raquel taking Io down every time and Io not giving up till she stands tall over Raquel which eventually occurred as the show was about to end . Did not enjoy any of the Xia or Tian Shan stuff but Xia for once looked good in the ring and with the right opponent to carry her could give a good NXT women? s title match . Gargano and Balor cut good promos but the best one was Ciampa? s . It had the emotion that captured my attention. The vignettes with Walter/Ciampa and especially Cole/O Reilly to hype up for Takeover did a great job . One of the best things on the show . Due to lack of any substantial in ring quality other than Grimes/Strong , I cannot give it more than a 6 . I was glad to see the announcement of the women? s tag title bout and Kushida/Dunne for takeover and the card looks good . I hope it exceeds my expectations because they are very high ."

[5.0] "Weak show by NXT standards, largely because of a poor low stakes main event. Filler show that does a decent job of setting up what should be an awesome Takeover event, but otherwise its completely skippable."

[6.0] "Fine show. No great matches but no dead moments either, I have to say I'm not more thrilled for Takeover than I was before the show, so probably they didn't do a great job in promoting it."

[3.0] "Jeeez... that was probably the worst NXT show in a long, long time. A complete waste of time. Here is why. Matches were really weak. Backstage and talking segments were horrible. The Garganos storyline was quite exciting for the last couple of weeks, but tonights episode was not funny at all. Io was continously attacking Raquel Gonzalez backstage and it went throughout the whole show. Every single time this short brawl ended with Io laying on the ground completely rekt. The interiew with KUSHIDA was really stupid, because Pete Dunne interrupted and they both talked to each other in two different languages. They both cannot even understand each other. Why don't give them interpreter or just forget these stupid segments. The only thing I liked was the video preview of Adam Cole vs Kyle O'Reilly. Oh yeah. One more thing. Did I mention the show ended with Io attacking Raquel for the 4th time? Yes... that's exactly what happened."

[4.0] "Good angles in a vacuum but poor storyline progression and in-ring action made for a weak show. They gave us very little in terms of exciting wrestling, with the Grimes and Strong opener being the only good match and the main event battle royal being a dull and pointless affair. The angles were entertaining though, especially the excellent hype video for Cole vs O'Reilly. That being said, it felt like feuds were either being stretched out to fill time with exclusively video packages, or being rushed like Dunne vs Kushida and the NXT woman's tag titles. A let down after the string of good shows NXT has put on recently."

[7.0] "Pretty poor action compared to the standards of NXT, but pretty damn good building angles for next week Top 3 of the Night 3. Roderick Strong 2. Io Shirai 1. LA Knight"

[7.0] "Pretty solid show withou a great match but with a solid construction for S&D. Great hype for Cole/O'Reilly first."

[6.0] "For being the go-home show before NXT's first two-night Takeover this show felt like most of it was either just stretching out existing storylines for next week with no real progression, or rushing them forward at a breakneck speed for everything to make sense for next week. Strong vs. Grimes was decent; Roderick Strong's current story arch is honestly the most interesting thing on Wednesday nights for me, and I hope it pays off but for whatever reason I feel like it'll peter out before something big happens with the character. I'm worried he's gonna be the George Harrison of a post-UE world. Having the three arguably biggest matches of both nights being pushed solely with video packages was a weird choice, but they were all done very well so I can't complain too much. Escobar vs. Breeze was... a match that happened. Escobar looks strong and the ramshackle tag match NXT was forced into got a teeny bit of build. Speaking of which, I'm so pissed off on behalf of Oney Lorcan. Dude's partner gets hurt so he's stripped of the tag titles, despite being in a stable with another guy, and then he can't even get thrown a bone and put into the main event battle royal, especially when one of the participants has walked out? What the fuck y'all? The three women's matches were all essentially competitive squashes, and again the NXT women's tag title storyline feels rushed. This probably wasn't the right time to introduce the belts, if there ever even really was one. The storyline of Gonzalez constantly getting the better of Shirai's ambushes was pretty great, and Io getting her heat back at the end of the night did a good job of subverting the expectation that Gonzalez will lose because she has an extreme Momentum (tm) advantage heading into a title match. Mei Ying officially has superpowers now (beyond immortality, I guess? ), but this storyline really needs to go somewhere. It's starting to become a bit of a drag, despite the revelation of Sleepy Breath. The battle royal was pretty meh as far as battle royals go, and Pete Dunne and Kushida both deserve their match to have more than approximately 90 seconds of build during the go home show. The match should slap though and is honestly a dark horse contender for MOTN. They did a good job of hyping Takeover but the actual meat of the show just didn't really do a whole lot for me."

[8.0] "This was a great show that built up the hype for takeover to extreme levels. The matches were all satisfactory but the highlights of the night were the segments in between with feuds being developed and Io + Raquel brawling all around the CWC. The video packages playing throughout the show were very cool, especially the Prime Target which had better cinematography/production value than I expected from a wrestling company, whoever edited that did a really good job. All in all I am very exited for takeover next week!"

[7.0] ""How a dog got over quicker than any human on the roster in several years" - the dog in question set up Taya Valkyrie's debut for the Tuesday launch in a couple of weeks, or is that Franky now? No stellar matches, but the key Takeover matches were built up, including the Cole/O'Reilly Prime Target, and Io Shirai brawling with Raquel Gonzalez for most of the show. I did howl with laughter at how Mei Ying spewed a mysterious air borne substance that knocked Kayden Carter out cold, only would have been funnier if it was Kacy Catanzaro given her stance with masks and social gatherings."

[7.0] "Overall I found this episode of nxt to be pretty good with great builds toward the next takeover as I am very excited for stand and deliver it is shaping up to be quite a show for nxt some parts dragged a little bit just my opinion but I wish nxt went back to being an 1hr a week again felt so unique for wwe programming there was never a dull moment when it was 1hr long but I? m rating this show and not ranting so overall I thought the show was very good."

[7.0] "A good show with some very good segments, especially the KOR/Cole Prime Target, which might be the best Prime Target ever. The matches were fine, with the opener being a cut above the rest. There was also some nice setup for matches as well. A good go home show for next week's Takeover that did its job."
