[6.0] "Quality show without a doubt. It won't make it into many people's 'best of all time list, ' but it is consistently very good, and that's all you can ask for. Jericho/Shawn have the best match again, but Triple H/Jeff might have had the most exciting match. It is way better than you might expect. Taker/Show and Kane/Mysterio also have noteworthy performances. Even the worst match in Batista/JBL is short so it doesn't weigh the card down much. A refreshingly good show worth a watch for sure."

[9.0] "This show was awesome. The two world title matches were amazing, especially the main event which was a match of the year candidate. The undercard wasn't so bad either, Matt Hardy vs Mark Henry and Rey Mysterio vs Kane were decent matches."

[9.0] "The first half of the show was flat out weak, but it then picks up with the last three matches with Undertaker Vs Big Show being really solid, Jeff Hardy Vs Triple H was brilliant, Jericho Vs Michaels ladder match is absolutely phenomenal, and the crowd was hot throughout all the highs and lows. Overall WWE No Mercy (2008) is a great and underrated show thanks to the strength of its final three matches, especially the world title matches."

[5.0] "Thankfully the last two matches save this show from being the absolute snoozefest. Triple H and Jeff have another fantastic match based around the similar story as their last year's meeting with a brilliant finish that put over Hunter's experience as the only thing that got him the win. And then the main event is a great Ladder Match - not my favourite, but it's still very well done and if you compare it to Edge's and Taker's bullshitery from the past few months it just shows you that you don't need a spotfest to have an exciting gimmick match. The rest though is nothing to write home about. A lot of nothing matches that didn't belong on the PPV - not awful, but you wouldn't differentiate them from any other wrestling bouts, plus that MVP and Legacy segment really dragged."

[8.0] "Boy, that's one hell of an underwhelming undercard if I ever saw one. Phoenix/Michelle having a pretty dull match after the opener even with the story they were telling in mind (*), Kane/Mysterio going at it for what felt like 20 minutes with not much interesting action apart from the DQ (*3/4), Batista/JBL having a nothing match (*) AND a 10 minute RAW promo slapped on the PPV that did nothing apart from get your former world champion on the show. The first half of this PPV DRAGS on and on and it's hard to get through at points, saved only by one of the best Mark Henry matches I've ever seen in the opener with actual psychology involved, no less (***). Thankfully though, the second half of this show was brought to us by the wrestling gods themselves. Okay, maybe Show/Taker could've been better, but HOT DAMN, those last two matches are phenomenal in every sense of the word. HHH/Jeff is Jeff's chance to show that he can actually tell a story in the ring without weapons and he knocks it out of the park in a match that honestly harkens back to HHH's golden run in 2000, and of course, one of the best ladder matches of all time to close us out. Maybe even the best, it's up there. If you don't watch anything else on this show, you owe it to yourself to watch those last two matches. Wrestling at its finest."

[8.0] "First half of No Mercy 2008 isn't really enjoyable, Beth Phoenix vs Michelle McCool is a flop, Matt Hardy vs Mark Henry is okay, Rey Mysterio vs Kane has a terrible ending, Batista vs JBL is too short and one sided, with an annoying Chryme Time post-match. Then the event gets good, with three awesome matches, with a splendid Ladder match as the main event. I think these three matches are worthy of the whole event."

Opener was surprisingly good ***1/4, women's match was bad of course ** Rey-Kane was getting good, but finished badly *** Batista-JBL was decent because it was short *** Taker-Show was their best match ever against each other probably ***1/2 HHH-Jeff was very good and the final perfect with the storyline they were telling **** Main Event is one of the best one on one ladder matches in WWE history ****1/2."

[9.0] "One of WWE's best of their later PPVs. The opening match and the top three matches on the card are great. Why isn't this rated higher?"

[10.0] "One of the most underrated PPVs in recent years. Outstanding main event to end (essentially) Jericho & HBK's legendary feud. Fantastic semi-main where Jeff looks great hanging with Trips despite just coming up short. Big Show/Taker is one of Big Show's best matches - an immensely smartly worked big man battle. Also really enjoyed both Hardy/Henry and Rey/Kane. The other two matches were short - JBL/Batista being rather effective."
