Despite the bad stip I enjoyed the Jarrett v Goldust match as well as that had a fun dusty finish at the end. The biggest problem for me was the WWE Tag Title match and the Austin vs Undertaker buried alive matches was both matches I was looking forward to seeing but neither of those matches delivered and the main event in particular was surprisingly dull and the stipulation felt very restrictive. The only other decent match on the undercard was the Owen vs Blackman match and that ended up with a bad finish. |

D'lo and Venis can wor nicely, Godfather and Henry not as much. Very short and very uninteresting (3/10) ICP's theme song is the best part out of the Oddities and the HeadBangers aren't great on their own, so the second tag match is an even weaker version of the first (1/10) Blackman and Hart have a pretty decent bout with Owen wrestling circles around his opponent, and everyone on the card. The crowd is pretty into it as well but its ruined by the walkout countout finish (5/10) Brood/JOB Squad is a filler tag, a few cool flying moves by Scorpio and the Brood rightfully got the win. Very skippable (4/10) Goldust and Jarret is pretty average and the crowd really popped for HBK reversing the decision at the end. I really don't like the whole thing being built around a striptease though (5/10) Outlaws/Corporation is pretty good at times, but should've really been shorter. Gunn and Shamrock have some bursts of energy but its not enough to fill 17 minutes (5/10) Rock/Mankind is an overbooked brawl building on the story from Survivor Series. Its not an all time classic but its certainly the most fun from this card. Even if the McMahon making the title change null does make the bout quite pointless (6/10) Austin/Taker is mostly walking and brawling for 20 minutes which is not very fun. Austin is still cool to see and has a few moments of action, but its not enough to really make this main event interesting to me (4/10) |

They finally did it and didn't have even one good match on the show, average at best. Almost everybody's all gimmick, so the matches are barely five minutes long, and if somebody can actually work they choose to have a boring ass brawl. Head Bangers vs Oddities is pure trash and The Brood vs JOB Squad is awful, while other bouts aren't anything special either - barely watchable. Owen decides to leave a grudge match for whatever reason, Dustin once again is involved in some bollocks made for the virgin crowd and the finish to the WWF Championship buries almost all of the submission finishes that happened before. And the main event is just tiresome and sad at this point, as I know that Austin can have a fantastic wrestling match kept in the ring, but he decides to have boring and repeatable brawls all around the arena, this time with a long, botched finish. Thank God that it's the last PPV of 1998, but they don't give me hope for a better 1999. |

Aber das sind all ihre Aufeinandertreffen da sie einfach grandiose Performer sind *** 1/4. Main Event war Storymäßig sehr interessant. Gerade das Finish ist sehr ansprechend. Was die 18 Minuten davor passiert ist Standard kost ** 3/4. |

Der Main Event war o. k. ohne zu glänzen. Das Oddities-Match war peinlich, aber zum Glück kurz genug um wirklich zu nerven. Hart vs Blackman war gar nicht schlecht wenn man vom Finish absieht. Auch das Six Man Tag Team Match hatte seine positiven Momente. Goldust vs Jarrett war durchwachsen und hatte ein schwaches Finish. Das Tag Team Titelmatch war o. k. , auch wenn in der ewig langen Dominierungsphase vom Road Dogg schon die ein oder andere Länge vorhanden war. Eindeutig MotN war Rocky vs Mankind. Ein wrestlerischer Leckerbissen sieht zwar auch anders aus, aber die beiden sind einfach sehr unterhaltsam im Ring und so benötigen sie kein technisch herausragendes Match um gut zu sein. Das Buried Alive Match hat sich am Ende echt gezogen, aber die Matchart steht auch wirklich nicht für Qualität. An ein gutes Buried Alive-Match kann ich mich jeden Falls nicht erinnern. Insgesamt eine relativ solide Show, die aber immer noch weit weg ist von gut. |

" Der Main Event war jetzt auch nicht super gut und die Bagger-Nummer am Ende war ja wohl der totale Reinfall. Und ich hätte nie gedacht, dass ich das einmal schreibe aber: Nach Michael Cole seinem PPV-Debüt als Kommentator vermisse ich Jim Ross am Mikro. Notizen am Rande: The Godfathers "Hempin' Ain't Easy" auf der Weste scheint eine klare Kiffer-Referenz zu sein, zumal er mit dem späteren "Captain Cannabis" im Ring stand. Die Werbung für das "WWF Attitude eau de toilette" habe ich erst für einen Witz gehalten, unglaublich. |

Goldust gegen Jarrett ist überraschend nicht gut, die Beiden sind eigentlich wirklich gut, doch hier läuft das einfach nicht, 4/10. Das Tag Team Match ist viel zu lang für das, was gezeigt wird und es dreht sich viel zu viel um HBK, 5/10. Zu Rock vs. Mankind mehr im Guide, 7/10. Der Main Event beginnt gewohnt furios und ist am Ende eine Mischung aus sehr gut, kopfschütteln und lachen. Sensationelle Szenen, 6/10. In Summe ist das dann aber einfach nichts, der Beginn zieht sich viel zu lange, bis man endlich gutes Wrestling bekommt und so bleiben mir nur 3 Punkte übrig. |

Einzig die Crowd war im Match so gut wie nicht vorhanden. (3*) 5. Goldust gegen JJ war okay, hatte aber wieder ein schlechtes Finish. (2 3/4*) 6. Das TTTM ging mir eine Spur zu lange. Schlecht war es aber nicht. (2 1/2*) 7. Rock gegen Mankind liefern wieder einmal das MotN. Trotzdem eines der schwächeren Matches der beiden. Wieder gab es ein unbefriedigendes Ende. (3 1/4*) 8. Austin gegen Taker war wieder nicht der Bringer. Die beiden haben einfach keine Chemie miteinander. Und wie es bei den AA PPVs war, gab es wieder ein overbooktes Ende. (2 1/2*) Rock Bottom war eindeutig ein übergangs PPV. Ganz schlecht war er nicht, aber man muss ihn auch nicht sehen. |
