[6.0] "I had a good time watching this ppv. There are some dull moments but the pace of things isn't too bad and most of the matches deliver. Strangely enough i thought flair and steamboat's matches on this card were some of the weaker ones. Sting/Sid isn't as bad as you might think. Worth it for a nostalgia watch, which is what it was for me. The main event's pretty all right too, you get a pretty decent showing from Cactus Jack and Vader."

[5.0] "Given the participants and even most of the specific match-ups, I expected this to be a lot better. The matches across the entire show were a bit lethargic, perhaps some malevolent Halloween spirit was draining the energy of the wrestlers. I'm a workrate mark and the highlight of Halloween Havoc wasn't any of the wrestling, it was the skit to open the show featuring Tony Schiavone turning into a demon, which should tell you something about the quality of the action."

[7.0] "Firstly, the intro to this PPV has got to stand out as one of the greatest of all time. As for the show itself - it's a lot of fun. The majority of the card is really entertaining and for the most part the time flies by. I really wanted to give the show a higher rating since it's very enjoyable, but the entire show is plagued with some pretty poor finishes. Nearly every match ends with something underwhelming, with the main event (which is otherwise great) being particularly egregious on this front. It's definitely a show that's worth watching and if I'm looking to enjoy some classic WCW then it's always a show that comes to mind, but it really needed some better booking in order to be as great as it could have been."

[8.0] "This was a genuinely great PPV (kind of shocking out of 1993 WCW), and so far my favourite WCW PPV that I've seen/covered. Only one match on this show wasn't good and it was the first one. The main event was great, and easily my match of the night. A really fun PPV all around, which was certainly not the norm in 1993."

[9.0] "This is a great ppv all the matches are good I mean you have vader vs cactus jack which is amazing the rest of the card is very good as well."

[8.0] "Now this was a damn good show. The only two matches that we're below average in my opinion was the opening 6 man tag and the Sting vs sid match. Otherwise I highly recommend this show. Match of the night was definitely Cactus vs Vader. MY second favorite match of the night was Steamboat vs Mr Wonderful."

[7.0] "A very good PPV because of the talent, who delivered strong matches throughout the night. The worst matches were the opener and Sting vs. Sid, and even those were watchable/decent at worst. However, the finishes were absolutely atrocious and I seriously wonder if the bookers put any effort at all into this show. The main event was a great fight and I was surprised by how great the tag team title match was."

[8.0] "A fantastic PPV with some great matches packed in there. We didn't have any throwaway bollocks like on most of the previous shows and even the opener wasn't bad, as the crowd seemed to be really into The Shockmaster for whatever reason. Also Rude vs Flair wasn't the best match I've seen, but at least it was an improvement from their disappointing Fall Brawl meeting. The rest though was great. Orndorff vs Steamboat caught me by surprise, as I didn't expect it to be that kind of a match and I loved every second of that brawl. Regal vs Davey Boy was a fantastic, technical bout with Bulldog's quickness being on full display here, Dustin vs Austin wasn't the level of their previous encounter, but it was still very solid, while Scorpio and Bagwell showed once more what an entertaining team they were and got a very good Tag Team Match out of The Nasty Boys. Then Sting vs Sid was all about Stinger getting the biggest reactions of the night from the crowd and delivering very exciting final minutes, while the main event had a very good build going for it, so Foley and Vader didn't have to do much to get the fans involved. The match itself though was still very hard-hitting and brutal, plus Foley gave us one of his better babyface performances and Vader's stiff style worked very well here. So really a very enjoyable show from top to bottom, one of WCW's best in recent months."

[5.0] "I really did not like this show. I had to take a break from it several times just to be able to finish it. Cactus and Vader had a great main event and Steamboat/Orndorff had a good one, too, but this period of WCW was tough to watch. This PPV was good, but not great."

[7.0] "Fun ppv. Main event definitely was the best of the night. Was pleasantly surprised by the Austin/Rhodes match, the Regal/Bulldog match was a fun blend of mat work and power moves, and the Orndoff/Dragon match kept it simple but fun. The opening match was pretty boring, and I didn't get into the Flair/Rude match like I thought I would. Thought the Sting/Sid match was better than the lack of votes here would tell. Gonna try and watch a few more havocs for the holiday, I feel like this will probably be the closest to a consistent across the board good event for the ppv."

[7.0] "First of all, the opening package with Tony in the haunted house is an all timer and him then dressing as Jese Ventura was legitimately funny. By the standards of the time this is a damn good card even if WCW booking gets in the way of what could have been some great matches,"

[7.0] "Solid and enjoyable show, which is a nice change from most previous WCW shows I've watched. Opening 6 man tag match was decent but unspectacular. Very little to be interested or invested in. Orndorff vs. Steamboat was highly enjoyable. Orndorff looked great at this time and could still go, while Steamboat was still as good as ever. Next match was 15 minutes of great wrestling and storytelling. I truly enjoyed this one with Smith going for the chase and Regal looking to escape in the last minute or so. Both men were great wrestlers back in the day and this was a fin example of it. Rhodes vs. Austin was OK. Didn't like the supposed false finish. Solid tag match follows. The champs were the better wrestlers here, but the crowd were really the stars here. This could have been boring had the crowd not ben active. Next match was interesting in a way. Fast paced, but Sting carried this one. Sid did nothing to get me to notice, but that crowd was amazing. Rude vs. Flair looked good on paper, and I thought it was pretty good. The issue is that this was billed as a big match and at no point did it ever feel like one. Finish was amusing considering Flair was the challenger this time around. I must point out in the main event, that scene with Vader climbing out of the "grave" with the setup behind him was fantastic. This was brutal at times. A chair shot to Cactus made me cringe. The match itself was a great brawl for its time, maybe not so much today but at the time, this was quite the spectacle. Deserving of its praise back then. Good stuff throughout this event."

[8.0] "The WCW locker room at this time is an incredibly weird mash up of utterly terrible wrestlers and some of the best to ever live. This show highlights that with its lows and highs. There are some fantastic matches on this show like Bulldog and Regal, Steamboat and Mr Wonderful and of course Vader vs Cactus. However, there are some areas were the show begins to drag, namely the last stretch before the main event. Other than that, this show is fantastic and filled to the brim with legends and hall of famers. Would definitely recommend."

[5.0] "Halloween Havoc 1993 aka. The Night of the Screwjobs. Only WCW could have a PPV with so many strong matches and still have it be only worthy of a 5."

[6.0] "This is maybe the only time where I don't agree with the recommended matches, I like Regal vs Davey Boy Smith much more than Rick Rude vs Ric Flair, and also Sting vs Sid Vicious is one hell of a fight! Vader vs Cactus Jack is crazy and a epic hardcore match, really perfect and a deserving match. I don't agree with the quality of other matches, for me most of the show was boring with a few strong points."

[7.0] "Pretty good show with a few downfalls. The opening match is horrible, Norris, Shockmaster, Stevie Ray, and Equalizer are four guys who are absolutely awful. Steamboat/Orndorff is a great match, two legends at or near their peak. Regal/Bulldog is a FANTASTIC match and my pick for MOTN, they do some stunning technical sequences and tell a brilliant story. Should definitely be on the matchguide, Meltzer or no. Austin/Dustin is excellent but not a show stealer like you might hope, partly due to a bad finish. The tag match is surprisingly great, especially Scorpio who is just absolutely fabulous in this era. Sting/Sid is absolutely terrible, Sting needs a good opponent and Sid is one of the worst of all time. Flair/Rude isn't very good, I was very disappointed. However, the main event is great, it's not perfect but it's got a serious air of true violence. If nothing else, you must check out the insane Halloween themed vignette that opens the show, which tells the REAL truth about Tony Schiavone!"
