[5.0] "I was really hoping to rate this show higher but I just couldn't. If it wasn't for the last three matches I definitely would have. Match of the night was pillman vs Steamboat. I also really enjoyed Vader vs koloff. I still think that this was better show than the 91 edition. Unfortunately though I still can't really recommend this show."

[5.0] "If you turned it off after Windham & Rhodes vs Austin & Williams it would be one of the more solid WCW PPVs in the recent memory, but unfortunately after that three big matches underdeliver. Usually it was the other way around, but here Rude and Chono absolutely killed the crowd with their snoozefest and even though Simmons vs Barbarian wasn't bad and Roberts vs Sting had its moments the fans were almost silent there. The best thing on this show was definitely Steamboat against Pillman who felt fresh after his heel turn, plus the opener was a fun 6-Man Tag with the incredibly hot crowd and Vader vs Koloff was alright. There's also a great promo from Heyman turning on Madusa, but overall the whole PPV left me disappointed with the final hour."

[6.0] "This is overall a solid show, but not one I'd say is worth going out of your way to watch. There's some hidden gems and surprisingly good stuff on this show, but there's also some stinkers; the bad stuff on this show is also boring bad and not fun to watch bad. Ricky Steamboat and Brian Pillman stole the show here, and had my favourite match of the night. Rick Rude vs Masahiro Chono sucked. Vader vs Nikita Koloff was surprisingly good. The main event also wasn't as bad as I expected it to be."

[3.0] "Steamboat and Pillman had the best match. Then they had a 30-minute draw, a coal Miner's glove match, Nikita Koloff having his career ended, a decent six-man tag, and The Barbarian receiving a title shot on PPV. Bill Watts was a terrible boss and time had passed him by."

Every decent match was hurt by being altered or futzed with in some way, with replacement competitors or DQs or crazy stips."

[5.0] "Picked this totally at random to watch. This is a pretty interesting show, in that this is a very tough crowd, "bizarro world" as Jim Ross would say had he came up with it at the time, so many matches & ideas that would be great on paper, just didn't quite work here. [1st match] Very random 6 man that was pretty amusing at times, as the babyfaces were very much unloved, quite unlike the heels. Quick paced at times, but mainly the faces were trying their damnedest to get the crowd to care about anything they did. **3/4 [2nd match] solid well-matched contest with many moves you just don't see often nowadays. **** [3rd match] As enjoyable as Pillman/Steamboat, even though it had 2 much bigger & more powerful dudes. Their match had the most heat so far on this show. ***3/4 [4th match] Solid match that stayed at it's pace until the finish pretty much. The tag work was genuinely fun to watch, but the match overall just didn't reflect the storylines attached to it. ***1/2 [5th match] Maybe too much time spent in holds with little else really happening, wasn't horrible though. **1/4 [6th match] Again this was rather disappointing. It lacked excitement & action, but still was better than the NWA title match before it. **1/2 [Main] Like a lot of things tonight, this was just alright. Probably picked the wrong stip for this crowd though. **3/4 Good first 3-5 matches, but little else to enjoy after that."

[5.0] "Three major matches sold this PPV and no one delivered. That is never a good sign. However, there are good things to watch here, particularly Steamboat v Pillman, Vader v Nikita and the tag title match which bump the score a little bit. I would say watch everything up to the World Tag Team Title match and then shut the show down and pretend the rest simply never happened."

[5.0] "Up until the NWA World Title bout, I would say this is a pretty decent show that was on the verge of being very good. But then the last three matches happened, and it completely put this down to average territory. Check out the tag title match and Steamboat/Pillman if you're watching anything from this show."

[5.0] "I'll echo a lot of the other comments. The lower card is fantastic. There's young hungry talent and very capable midcarders looking to prove themselves. But the final three matches just aren't good at all. Rude v Chono has entirely too many dull submissions and a terrible ending. Barbarian v Simmons is plodding and slow until we get to a anti-climactic ending. And Sting vs Roberts has a ridiculously unnecessary and pointless gimmick and ends with one of the silliest finishes I've seen. Really poor way to end."

[2.0] "The first half of this PPV isn't too bad, but the second half was beyond terrible. Rude vs. Chono sucked something fierce, Simmons vs. Barbarian had no business being on PPV, much less being for the world title, and the main event was just bad, ending the night on an atrocious note."

[3.0] "Here's another event where I'm really surprised by how high the rating is, because this PPV was less than adequate. It ended with three consecutive bad matches, two of which were badly booked to the point of confusion in addition to just being bad as far as the in-ring action went."

[7.0] "Pretty good event all things considered. Opening two matches are excellent, and the Philly crowd is hot and interesting through most of the night. US title and tag matches are pretty good. Event goes downhill after that, Chono/Rude is surprisingly bad, and Simmons/Barbarian and Sting/Jake aren't that much, but still I did enjoy this event."
jackleone wrote on 07.06.2016:
[5.0] "The biggest disappointment is Rick Rude vs Masahiro Chono, it's a terrible match that lasts for more than 20 minutes, the two could have done a much better match if they wanted. The 30 minutes tag team match is the best of the night, Steamboat vs Brian did not have a good quality. Vader vs Koloff and Simmons vs Barbarian are acceptable. The main event between Sting and Jake Roberts is terrible, I can't believe in a cheesy stipulation like that. A step behind for WCW."

[7.0] "A solid night of wrestling all the way through. While there were perhaps no blow-away matches, all of the matches were of quality with no real weak points. Rhodes & Windham vs. Austin & Williams was probably the best of the lot, but I did also enjoy Rude-Chono, Simmons-Barbarian and the "unsanctioned" Roberts-Sting match quite a bit as well. Steamboat-Pillman could also have been a standout if given more time. A worthwhile watch for the fan of pure wrestling action."
