Dangerously convinces Stevie Wonderful to get lost. The main event getting cut off sucked, but it was pretty interesting while it was going on. |

After that, Paul E replaced Stevie Wonderful as colour commentator and he easily get the job done. This man is a living promo. We also had a vignette with Terry Funk, in his Double Cross ranch again, and it was a little funny... but quite awkward too. He was interrupted by Eddie Gilbert's brother and Terry punched him in the stomach, cut, the real person is now clearly a ragdoll and Terry now pretends to roll over him with his tractor, laughing and all... It would have been weird somehow because if we clearly see the doll, as is the case here, you're just crushing a doll and it's obviously a bit embarrassing. Otherwise, if it seems too realistic, we're just watching one of the biggest babyfaces of the country kill a man on national TV. So... |

The in-ring work of early ECW either sucks or is really bland/only fine; these shows get their fine ratings a lot of the time off some of the segments and characters presented. Paul E. Dangerously steals the show this episode; surprisingly easily for Terry Funk also having segments. Some of these workers in earlier ECW were atrocious; with this episode the Canadian Wolfman stuck out. Hot Stuff International and the Dangerous Alliance merged in this episode and Paul E. took over on commentary for the show during the second match. |

War jetzt keine gute Ausgabe zudem auch noch die Panne, um den nicht vollständig gezeigten ME. Das hat sich dann WCW wohl auch abgeguckt. |

Robbins III did foolishly sign the contract in the previous week for his team of two generic masked heels vs two generic babyface jobbers (enhancement talent) without realising he was going to be chained up to Cairo. Given the low rent feel of early ECW I can only assume that instead of fighting over the tag titles at the time, it would have been more interesting for them to wrestle over the right to be the enhancement talent for a taping of WWE Superstars which would likely have been the most money either team would have seen in their lives and far more money than they would have ever drawn. I must say, I have been so amused by Mr Hunter Q. Robbins III that I actually tried to look him up and his real name apparently is Robin Hunt but there seems to be no other information about him available. Regardless, he had a point the previous week that the two generic babyfaces didn't actually deserve a title match as all they ever did was lose, alas here we are. |

Dass die damit immer eine recht flexible vier bis fünf Match-Card auf die Beine stellen, ist schon ganz ordentlich und ist nach fünf Folgen sogar noch erträglich. Paul E. soon to be Heyman bei #6 das Eröffnungssegment dominieren und lässt da schon durchblicken, dass er früh am Mic ein Talent hatte. Terry Funk meldet sich wieder von der Ranch und verkündet, dass man da häufiger mal auf Perverse achten muss. Eddie Gilberts Bruder (fast mit einer Puppe zu verwechseln) kommt da kurzerhand in den Radlader und wird überfahren. Man hätte schon im Mai 1993 erahnen können, was da noch auf einen zukommen könnte. Auch ein ECW Tag Team Title No Disqualification Vs. Hair No Count Out Match geht ja durchaus in diese Richtung. Da möchte man die Entwicklung fast damals live mitgemacht haben. Herrlich schrottig. Winters und Stetson hatten sich die letzten Woche wirklich als Gefahr für die Super Destroyers herausgestellt, sodass der Aufbau hier schon wirklich ganz gut sitzt für sechs Folgen einer TV-Show. Cairo sitzt ringside zusammen Hunter Q. Robinson III, friedlich durch Handschelle verbunden. Das ist alles wirklich herrlich, wäre bloß die Action besser. Das ist immer noch auf einem zähem Level. So wird die No DQ-Stipulation recht spät wirklich genutzt. Heyman schmettert die nächste Promo und sitzt dann am Kommentatorenpult, im Ring passiert ein Match. Bellomo steht vor den Spinds und haut irgendwas raus. Im Ring haut er dann einen sehr interessanten Squash-Gegner um. Doppelte Schicht für das Roster. Es steht ein Lumberjack-Match an. Wie so üblich wird’s strukturlos und irgendwie zäh. Auf das Pferde-Segment waren sie so stolz, dass sie es wiederholen. Dann treten erstmals die Damen in den ECW-Ring im TV. Solider Brawl, aber leider mal wieder in der TV-Zeit verschätzt. Das gehört dann 1993 wohl auch irgendwie dazu. |

Diesmal verläuft sich Eddie Gilberts etwas ungelenk ausschauender Bruder auf die Double Cross Ranch und wird vom im Traktor sitzenden Terry Funk in den Tod gerieben. Das kann man sich gar nicht ausdenken! Einen weiteren Pluspunkt gibt's für das frühe Ende im Hauptkampf. Nach vier Minuten ist auf einmal die Übertragung vorbei und der auf indiskutable Weise durch den Ring torkelnde Sandman sorgt selbstverständlich nicht dafür, daß auch nur irgendwer dieses Must-See-Match zu Ende sehen müßte. Wird in Episode #7 hoffentlich einfach unter den Teppich gekehrt. |

Das Tag Match ist ein solider Brawl, 4/10. Das zweite Tag Match ist etwas besser, aber noch lange, lange nicht gut, 5/10. Bellomo gegen den Wolfman ist nichts halbes und nichts ganzes, denn ein Squash war das auch nicht, 2/10. Cairo wird dank dem Opener und diesem Ausgang noch ein paar Probleme mit Hunter Q. und seinen Zerstörern bekommen, Match war durchaus cool für '93, mit netten kleinen Einlagen der Lumberjacks, 5/10. Danach wird Funks Promo mit dem Pferdearsch aus der Vorwoche nochmal gespielt? Dann aber geht die Zeit für den Mainer aus? Was? Stark ECW, 3/10. Insgesamt eine solide Ausgabe, doch das Ende gibt Punktabzug.. So ein Schmarn, 4 Punkte. |
