[4.0] "The show started unexpectedly pleasantly, with a segment featuring Paul Heyman and some good banter from Terry Funk, followed by a not-so-bad match (as part of early ECW) and new tag team champions. Overall, the shows are clearly better than the previous ones, but it's still not a very high level."

[2.0] "The only things even marginally worth a damn are Heyman's promo and the silly Funk vignette on his ranch, and neither is worth going out of your way for."

[4.0] "Paul E. Dangerously starts the episode off with the best promo ECW has seen yet, and Terry Funk follows it up with perfect comedy. The action on this show is a lot better than the rest of this taping. Sal Bellomo once again cuts a promo that has me scratching my head, and I'm glad Paul E. Dangerously convinces Stevie Wonderful to get lost. The main event getting cut off sucked, but it was pretty interesting while it was going on."

[4.0] "The best thing in this episode is the presence of Paul E Dangerously. Even Jay Sulli(e) seemed to enjoy his promo against Tod Gordon. After that, Paul E replaced Stevie Wonderful as colour commentator and he easily get the job done. This man is a living promo. We also had a vignette with Terry Funk, in his Double Cross ranch again, and it was a little funny... but quite awkward too. He was interrupted by Eddie Gilbert's brother and Terry punched him in the stomach, cut, the real person is now clearly a ragdoll and Terry now pretends to roll over him with his tractor, laughing and all... It would have been weird somehow because if we clearly see the doll, as is the case here, you're just crushing a doll and it's obviously a bit embarrassing. Otherwise, if it seems too realistic, we're just watching one of the biggest babyfaces of the country kill a man on national TV. So..."

[4.0] "This episode was fine. This was a step down from the previous episode but I suspect that the previous is an outlier in these early days. The in-ring work of early ECW either sucks or is really bland/only fine; these shows get their fine ratings a lot of the time off some of the segments and characters presented. Paul E. Dangerously steals the show this episode; surprisingly easily for Terry Funk also having segments. Some of these workers in earlier ECW were atrocious; with this episode the Canadian Wolfman stuck out. Hot Stuff International and the Dangerous Alliance merged in this episode and Paul E. took over on commentary for the show during the second match."

[3.0] "Hard to get behind a Tag Title change when both teams suck greatly. Mr Hunter Q. Robbins III did foolishly sign the contract in the previous week for his team of two generic masked heels vs two generic babyface jobbers (enhancement talent) without realising he was going to be chained up to Cairo. Given the low rent feel of early ECW I can only assume that instead of fighting over the tag titles at the time, it would have been more interesting for them to wrestle over the right to be the enhancement talent for a taping of WWE Superstars which would likely have been the most money either team would have seen in their lives and far more money than they would have ever drawn. I must say, I have been so amused by Mr Hunter Q. Robbins III that I actually tried to look him up and his real name apparently is Robin Hunt but there seems to be no other information about him available. Regardless, he had a point the previous week that the two generic babyfaces didn't actually deserve a title match as all they ever did was lose, alas here we are."

[2.0] "This show is worse than last week in some ways because even though tag titles change hands its a pretty bad match, decent lumberjack match that probably should have main evented and got time.. considering how the main event went... Also a awful Funk promo on his ranch. Biggest saving grace is Paul E. on commentary"
