[8.0] "The first couple matches were so-so, but this got into a groove after with a fantastic tag match and two really strong title matches. Nice to see Nakamura get his first championship as well."

[6.0] "NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II had the ingredients for another classic night, but the final product was a mixed bag. There were moments of brilliance, particularly in the tag team division, but some underwhelming matches (women's division) brought the overall experience down."

[7.0] "The first three matches were average, the tag team match was good and the last two matches were solid."

[6.0] "This was a bit of a letdown. Previous Takeovers made this one look weak in comparison. One great match, one good match, and the rest was okay at best. With a dishonorable mention for Ember Moon vs Billie Kay. It was a mess. A short bout, but a mess regardless. ***"

[10.0] "Aries Vs Jose and Moon Vs Kay were both whatever, but Roode Vs Andrade is real solid, Asuka Vs Bayley and Joe Vs Nakamura were both fantastic and #DIY Vs Revival is really phenomenal. Overall NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 2 (2016) is the weakest of all the NXT TakeOver: Brooklyns and all the takeovers to take place in the state of New York, but it's still a really fantastic show."

[8.0] "Banger of a Takeover. Aries/Jose and Ember/Kay were both pretty mid but everything after them definitely delivered. Andrade and Roode had a pretty good match, The Revival had another Match of the Year contender, this time with DIY, Asuka and Bayley tore the house down and Shinsuke got his crowning moment just four months after making his debut."

[6.0] "This one was definitely doomed to fail for me because I just watched Brooklyn 1 and that one was great. The main event was lackluster and the only match you should go out of your way to see is the Revival vs DIY 1 but other than that this was a pretty mid PPV and could probably be skipped over if you are planning on rewatching all the TakeOvers. I'm not saying this is unwatchable car crash PPV, I'm saying it's disappointing. However, one thing I gotta say is the DIY match was amazing and you should definitely go out of your way to watch that one. Other than that, theres really nothing special here."

[8.0] "Great PPV from top to bottom, started a bit slow with some new faces going in the beginning, No Way Jose and Aries had a solid match for what they were given and with Jose's character, Ember Moon had a strong showcase with Billie, and Roode and Andrade had a great match together and shows just how strong the future of NXT can be when these guys are having mid card matches. The match that stole the show had to be the Revival vs DIY match, even though I think Ciampa's best work is as a solo heel, him and Gargano are just so good together that its hard for them to ever have a bad match, but this rivalry of theirs with The Revival creates numerous 10/10 matches. Bayley vs Asuka was great, little sloppy at times but in my opinion a better match than the Iron Women Match with Sasha, Shinsuke and Joe putting on a fantastic main event full of hard hits and close calls, overall a solid PPV, 8/10"

[8.0] "The opener was a surprise package as Jose gave his best performance against Aries. Ember had a solid debut by showing most of her impressive move-set against the low leveled Billie. Andrade gave another breakout showing at TakeOver against the debuting Bobby Roode who merely broke a sweat after El Idolo's blistering replies at many occasions. Revival & DIY built the foundation for WWE's reincarnation to tag team wrestling to its best form since the Ruthless Aggression era in my opinion. Both teams went to a killer war vouching for the tag team throne of the Black & Gold brand. Asuka & Bayley fought in Round 2 of their string of matches and it was extremely great. Bayley had an edge and displayed it at pivotal moments for Asuka to unleash the demonic ego of hers and prevail victorious. The main event was a strong attempt of a differently handled NXT title bout which was a success at the end. This is a great follow-up to the previous TakeOver at Brooklyn as well as the preceding TakeOver where all matches served its purpose right and the booking calls felt near perfect."

[6.0] "I may be in the minority here but i thought this was just above average show. First 3 matches were quite meh to decent at best. Nothing special and memorable at all. The tag title match without a doubt was MOTN. Great storytelling, old school psychology from both teams with invested crowd. The women title match was very good, too. Post match was great when crowd said goodbye to their special girl. ME was quite let down. I expected more but this was another decent match. Shinsuke was pretty robotic here and he almost no sold anything from Joe. Joe was good as always, but this match didn't click to me. Overall, 2 matches really carried this show. Not the best takeover but still outclassed MR PPV at the same weekend."

[9.0] "Another excellent show from NXT, and for the second year in a row they showed up Summerslam. Aries Vs No Way Jose was surprisingly good (***), Ember Moon looked VERY impressive in her debut against Billie Kay (**1/4), Roode Vs Almas was very fun (***), The Revival Vs Gargano and Ciampa was AMAZING, easily one of the best tag bouts in WWE history (****1/2), Bayley Vs Asuka was also fantastic, a perfect end to their storyline and Bayley's time in NXT (****) and Nakamura/Joe was very good, although very disappointing (***1/2)."

[8.0] "A fun show with the first three matches more to introduce and develop the NXT roster, and the last 3 matches being amazing blowoffs and the women's title match is a high end MOTYC for me."

[9.0] "Enjoyable show top to bottom. Undoubtedly match of the night went to Revival vs. Gargano/Ciampa, an absolute joy for the tag wrestling fan with lots of great action, storytelling and drama. Nakamura vs. Joe was also a worthy title match, and Asuka vs. Bayley, while not as good as Bayley's matches with Sasha Banks, was still good and with its dramatic properties, IMO superior to their first encounter. A strong debut for Roode and surpringly solid matches from Aries vs. Jose and Ember vs. Billie rounded out a fine night of wrestling."

[8.0] "Another good nxt takeover. Had a good enjoyable opener, I was surprised at how well Aries and Jose worked together ***1/4 and the return of Hideo Itami afterwards was really cool. The first women's match wasn't good but had some nice looking moves and did its job to debut Ember Moon. Roode vs Almas wasn't anything special but I do really like both these characters and the match had some good moments, roode's entrance was great, ***. The tag title match was MOTN for me, ****1/2. I found the women's title match a bit disappointing (***), and I really liked the main event (****1/4). I'd recommend watching this show just for Itami's return, roode's entrance, the tag title match and main event. Overall a good show."

"I don't get the IWC's current praise of Bobby Roode. Frankly, I've always thought he plays either a poor man's R Rude or, now, Mr. Perfect. His in-ring is incredibly medicore and bland (that pumphandle finisher) and I can't recall him ever having a classic singles match when he wasn't being elevated by working with a superior talent, (Angle/Aries. ) Now his gimmick and music is very cool... how can one not outstretch their arms and cry out 'Glorious! , ' but as a worker he's absolutely middle-of-the-road. If WWE used one-tenth the keen intuition they had for Roode & Ember Moon, Andrade Almas, a more talented performer than either Athena/Roode, would not be the suspender-wearing buffoon he currently is. La Sombra was the best worker in Mexico from '12-'14 and is now relegated to being a second-rate Boriqua, (and he's not even Puerto Rican. ) Ember Moon's debut was most impressive as a showcase for her awesome finisher and the keen presentation NXT has worked out for her. Billie Kay was Bailey, before Bailey, but her femme fatale presentation has killed her career. Aries is still awesome but might soon be playing second-fiddle to 'Glorious, ' an ironic twist from their TNA days."

[8.0] "May not have been as good as past NXT PPV's but still enjoyed the show. Favorite part was finally getting to see my gal Ember Moon aka Athena in something other than a house show and she won which was even better. There were some average parts and chemistry between Asuka and Bailey could have been better but all the matches ranged from pretty good to great and still out performed Summerslam overall."

[8.0] "There were some average parts but good PPV overall. Asuka vs Bailey was good in spite of some slight chemistry issues and glad Asuka retained the women's title. Nakamura vs Samoa Joe was also great but as a Samoa Joe fan didn't like the outcome. Should of had a little more time but good to finally Ember Moon aka Athena on TV/PPV and even better to see her win, maybe now she can do more than just live house shows. Also glad Bobby Roode won in what was a pretty good match. Even though it was not as great as in previous years the NXT PPV still out did WWE's main show PPV once again."

[9.0] "This was a GREAT show. Loved the tag match bw Revival(who are one of the best in the biz) and Psycho Wrestling. ****1/2. Fave tag match of the year. Nakamura/Joe was great. Nakamura didn't really sell the leg work though. But I really liked it. ****1/2. The rest of the show was really well done too. IT'S GLOOORIOUS!"

[8.0] "NXT takeovers this year continue to be enjoyable but fail to live up to the standards set by previous years."

[6.0] "Fine PPV, but most of it was pretty average. Aries vs Jose was better than I expected. Aries' cowardly heel role is fun and it's nice seeing Jose use his charisma towards being a show-off or being arrogant as opposed to his absolutely stupid comedy dancing routine. Itami's interference post-match was great, especially him using the GTS. ***1/4. Kay vs Moon was alright given the time it had. Moon impressed on her debut and Kay didn't look as awkward as she usually does. **3/4. Roode vs Almas had the nice contrast of Roode's arrogance against Almas' impudence. I despise the NXT crowd (as usual) for how they refuse to get behind Almas simply because they like his opponent more. Someone of his talent deserves a more grateful audience. ***. The Revival vs Gargano and Ciampa was MOTN with The Revival's heel antics being great as usual, and the near falls that Gargano and Ciampa had were very convincing. It was great seeing the smarky NXT crowd disappointed after Gargano tapped out. ***3/4. Asuka vs Bayley had neither interesting nor convincing offence. Their chemistry was quite poor at times. Bayley's underdog persona is kind of cringeworthy, while Asuka's 'smiley killer' persona isn't too interesting either. ***. Nakamura vs Joe was incredibly slow and not a good strong style match at all. Their chemistry was off and both men really seemed to be lacking energy. Not a bad match but not very interesting either. ***."

[7.0] "I think there was too much hype for this TakeOver special. Especially after what we saw last year. Still it was a decent event but only one of the matches made the things really going for me. MOTN: Dash & Dawson vs. Gargano & Ciampa (**** 1/4). The Revival aren't really impressing me and I thought it would be a smart decision to put the titles on the internet darlings but still all the near falls made jump out of my seat and the action in the match was really really good. Apart from that match the others were OK but not that good. I think the predictability of the two main events killed some of the excitement. Austin Aries vs. No Way Jose (***). Billie Kay vs. Ember Moon (** 1/2). Really looking forward to Ember's performance. Been a really big fan of her work. Andrade Almas vs. Bobby Roode (*** 1/2). Even if you're not a fan of Roode's work that entrance is going to make you love him. Asuka vs. Bayley (*** 3/4). Samoa Joe vs. Nakamura (****)."

[9.0] "Good show. Decent PPV opener with Aries/Jose (***). Nice little showcase match with Moon/Kay. What a finisher, too. Roode/Almas was a decent match (***1/2), with Almas being the more impressive. A bit of a weak finisher for Roode, but maybe they were going for that with this 'Glorious' gimmick? The tag team match was the match that I was most looking forward to, as I thought they could very well top the Alpha/Revival matches and I believe they did. That match was incredible, and it really hit a new level after the hot tag. Awesome finishing stretch, but it was definitely a disappointing moment when Gargano tapped out, as I really thought they were deserving of a win, given their momentum they had going after their most recent performances. Great match nonetheless (****3/4). Asuka/Bayley had a much better match than Dallas and it was thoroughly entertaining all the way through. Great finish as well (****1/2). I probably wasn't anticipating the main event as much as everybody else was, as I haven't really liked Shinsuke's matches since his debut, being outwrestled twice by Aries and Balor. In my opinion, he doesn't really seem to have a wide range of offense, just a bunch of strikes and chuck in the odd suplex. And his selling in those matches was terrible. But, I still thought I could get surprised with a good match here, but it was pretty boring throughout its entirety. And not even the finish was that good. It was pretty sub-standard fare (***). Overall, it was a damn good show, and despite the main event being average, it didn't hurt the overall product."

[9.0] "Good show, definitely better than the previous. All matches were at the level and all are worthy of attention. This did not suffice to show the main WWE, where half of the meeting - the trash. He was not like this, thanks. In general, a lot of pleasant moments, as well as surprises, such as the emergence of Itami and application on confrontation with Aries. If we talk about the cons, then I missed the atmosphere. Terrible execution of the arena, as well as unusually quiet fans. But even due to the absence of all this, I fully enjoyed the show. PPV from NXT as always happy and does not lower the bar. 9/10"

[9.0] "As usual, I'm more hyped for a NXT event than the pay per view of the day after. Almost every match of the card was good or great, except the debut of Ember Moon which wasn't interesting, too many screams during the submissions. Austin Aries vs No Way Jose is the best match to start the show, Andrade vs Roode do not disappoint and Bayley vs Asuka is enjoyable. Once again, great tag team action. Samoa Joe vs Shinsuke Nakamura isn't the best match they could offer but it's still a solid performance and a 3 stars match. Strongly recommended as every NXT TakeOver events."

Aries/Jose was very good, Jose looked very impressive against one of the best talents in the company (***1/2), Ember Moon's debut vs. Billie Kay was meh, a showcase match (*), Andrade/Roode was OK, Roode really came off like a superstar with the presentation & fan reactions (**), The Revival vs. Gargano & Ciampa was an absolutely amazing tag bout; one of the best ones in WWE history (****1/2), Asuka & Bayley had to follow that, but they had an absolutely excellent match - way better than the one in Dallas (****1/4), I had really high expectations for Joe vs. Nakamura, and it was very good, but somewhat disappointing, as I expected something even better from those 2 (***1/2). All in all, really an awesome show. NXT live specials keep on delivering!"

[6.0] "A good show, very easy to watch, but nowhere near the show of the year candidate level. Both big title matches were kinda underwhelming, and the tag title match was phenomenal, easily MOTN. Aries/Jose was good (***), and so was Roo/Almas (** 3/4), altough Roode's finisher is garbage. Kay/Moon was ok (**). Gargano & Ciampa/Revival was incredible, one of the best WWE matches of the year (**** 1/4). Asuka/Bayley was a huge disappointment for me (** 1/2), and Nakamura/Joe was very good, but still, you expect more from a match like this (*** 1/2). If last two matches actually delivered big time, this'd be an excellent show. But it wasn't, and at the end, this was one of the worst Takeovers in recent memory."

[10.0] "Honestly when isn't a Takeover great? No exception here as this was awesome. The undercard was good but it was the main events that drove this show to greatness.   NWJ vs Aries was a really fun opener. Crowd was loud for all of it. Jose proved that he's a very talented wrestler here and more than just comedy. He may never be a world title contender but he'd be a great addition to the midcard ***1/4. Itami vs Aries should be a classic, that was the perfect time to debut the GTS. Billie Kay vs Ember Moon was a good showing for both women. Pretty standard debut match, not bad at all. Moon as a sweet ass finisher but that's gonna be hard to hit all the time, she'll need another one to hit out of nowhere **1/2. Roode vs Almas was a good match. Roode's entrance was a glorious and just awesome. Almas is one hell of a performer but until his gimmick is changed he just will not get over. Could've been better but was still enjoyable and a good showing for both ***1/4. Revival vs G/C was absolutely fantastic as exoected. Started slow but built great to the Gargano hot tag and since that point this just took off and didn't stop. Great intensity and unbelievable nearfalls. Psychology was awesome and overall this just was incredible ****1/2. Asuka vs Bayley was another great match. Even better than their Dallas match. They botched a few things but the story was there and they told it very well. Asuka seems like a whole different competitor, but she looks better. Not too sure about rating on first watch, I'd say ****1/4. Nakamura vs Joe was insanity. First, what a god damn entrance from Nak. Then, the match, which I found really great. I'm sure many won't like this bc it's slow but idk why you'd expect different. This was what was meant to be, a strong style slugfest. These guys brought the intensity and fight from the get go and built up to a great conclusion ****1/2. Amazing show, as a whole bettwr than last years by a bit. Tag match was my motn but main event wasn't far behind"

[3.0] "Austin Aries Vs No Way Jose **3/4. Ember Moon Vs Billie Kay *. Bobby Roode Vs Andrade Almas ***1/4. The Revival Vs Gargano and Ciampa ****1/4. Asuka Vs Bayley *3/4. Shinsuke Nakamura Vs Samoa Joe ***1/4. I was really looking forward to this show but when I finished watching it I was so disappointed. Aries Vs Jose was an okay opener. It was sloppy at times but the ending was good. Moon Vs Kay was very sad. Roode Vs Almas was probably the second best match of the night. It had some cool spots but I hate how Andrade is already being used as the guy that jobs to debuting wrestlers. Tag match was by far MOTN. It was great. Asuka Vs Bayley sucked just like their match at Dallas. I had high hopes for the main event but it was pretty boring. The first minute of the match was cool and the ending but besides those parts it was bad. Overall im sorry to be so negative about this show but it was defiantly the worst Takeover so far. Hopefully Summerslam will be better than this mess."

[8.0] "Another strong Takeover, with a solid undercard, two very good main events, and an insanely good tag match. Aries/Jose was fun as showed great intensity from both (***1/4). Ember Moon looked good with than awesome finisher vs Billie Kay. (**1/4). Roode's gimmick is entertaining as hell and Almas actually stole the match all on his own or me (***). Revival are SO fantastic as a heel old school tag team, and I think Gargano/Ciampa are both very great workers who were on the top of their game in this match that tore the house down (****1/2). Bayley/Asuka had a bit more fire than in their last match, but it was about the same in the end (***3/4). Joe/Nakamura was a bit slower than I would have liked, and I finally do have a fault with Nakamura (his selling needs work). That being said, the ending was great. (***1/2)"

[9.0] "This was a superb Takeover and found it to be even better than last year's as well. The only match I found to be terrible was Kay/Ember which I didn't care for at all (*). Aries/Jose was pretty good (**1/2), Roode/Almas was good as well (**3/4), Tag Title match was fantastic (****1/4)! Askua/Bayley was really good though could've been better but this was solid (***1/2). Joe/Nakamura was easily MOTN for me and just the sole purpose of even watching this show (****1/2). Overall this Takeover is one to remember and is easily worth seeing as well."

[9.0] "Super fun show to watch - the standout was the Tag Team Title match, great old school tag wrestling and selling from Gargano. Bayley gave an incredible performance in what looks like her final NXT match, and the main event was super stiff as well. Really good debuts for Ember Moon and Bobby Roode, and I enjoyed seeing Hideo Itami hitting the GTS again!"

[8.0] "Really nice show. Nothing amazing, but no real missteps and the crowd was hot all the way through. Aries vs Jose was a solid opener (***1/4). Itami showing up and finally hitting the GTS on TV was the shit. Ember Moon had a good debut, but as Athena wasn't as huge as other indie signings the reaction to her wasn't huge. Still, decent match (**1/2). I lament for La Sombra, because Andrade Almas is dying a death as a face. I would've preferred Roode cheating to win OR a double turn here, because Roode being cheered and beating Andrade clean just made the latter not look good when he was supposed to be the face. Still it was a good match bookended by one GLORIOUS theme (***). The Tag Title match stole the show here, and cemented The Revival as my favorite tag team going. Ciampa and Gargano were great, but the cohesive oldschool heel unit of Dash & Dawson is a sight to see. Fucking awesome match with so many turns and believable near-finishes, just like pretty much every major Revival match (****1/2). Bayley vs Asuka II had a great structure and a good story, but man was it a bit sloppy. I was a bit disappointed, because if this was executed better I would've thought it was really great (***1/2). The main event felt like a NJPW main event, but a bit shorter. Very methodical and escalating. A very much enjoyed it, and thought Joe did a good job in his role. Not the best match of the night, but a great one (****). Overall, another strong Takeover special. I'll round up a 7. 5/10 score."
