Bret Hart: "Well, it's no real shock that Vince McMahon's not here tonight. You know, if he'd flown in, I would've been waiting for him at the airport. I would've been waiting for him to get in or out of his car. I would've been waiting for him at the hotel. I would've been waiting for him right here at the building. 'Cause I came here tonight to finish things once and for all with Vince McMahon.

You know, I came back to the WWE with really good intentions. I came here to make peace with Vince McMahon, but it wasn't to be. You know, when I think of things and try to put everything in perspective, Vince McMahon, he lied to me, he kicked me in the gut, spit in my face, lied to me some more, had his goon Batista try to rough me up. But you know, all I can hear is Vince McMahon here saying those words, they echo in my head, that I deserve to be screwed. You know, I think Vince McMahon deserves to have the holy hell beat out of him, what do you think of that? You know, I kinda had my heart set on things, but you know, Vince McMahon is the world's greatest liar. Vince McMahon is at the very bottom of the barrel when it comes to liars, in fact, you won't find him at the bottom of the barrel, you gotta kinda tip the barrel up and you gotta look underneath, and that's where you find guys like Vince McMahon, under the barrel.

But I really had my heart set on giving Vince McMahon what he deserved at WrestleMania. It would have been so sweet for me to have one last victory at WrestleMania. But it's not to be, and there's no match with Vince McMahon. He lied about that. Victory will last a lifetime, but excellence will last forever. So I just wanted to take this moment, now that I know where things stand, to thank all the WWE superstars back there, every single one of them, for welcoming me here. And I wanna thank the WWE Universe for being so kind and having me back. And I especially wanna take this moment to thank John Cena. John Cena, thank you, my friend, because in essence, for the last few weeks, I got to live a last few special moments that I'll never forget. And I wanna thank all the fans that have supported me for the last few months, thank you from the bottom of my heart. But I think I'm gonna take this opportunity right now to say goodbye.
