[Jon Moxley squats by a wall outside the Now Arena after his match at All Out, surrounded by his fellow Death Riders - Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia, Marina Shafir and PAC]

Jon Moxley: "Nothing really to say other than Will was just better than me tonight. Will Ospreay, that's the best in that ring. I gave everything I had. I took every shot I had to the best of my ability; I have no regrets. Will Ospreay is indomitable. This is part of the game, though, man: you're going to lose. I don't care who you are; you're going to lose. You've got to know how to lose. You're going to lose in wrestling, you're going to lose in life, you're going to lose people, you're going to lose opportunities. You're not going to get what you deserve, and you're not always going to get what you earn. Things aren't always going to go your way. What are you going to do?

You've got to just smile and get up tomorrow and do it again, and just give it your best every single day because every single day is a gift. Do you know what it's like to walk out in front of a sold-out crowd? Chicago, New York, and Tokyo. A sold-out crowd like tonight. Surrounded by your friends, teammates, and these great people who pay with money that they work hard all week for to see you do what you do. The opportunity to be out there in the ring, out there in the ring doing this job? It's the best job in the world. There is nothing better than that.

Every day is a gift. Look, I'm serious, bro. And you won tonight. You're the better man tonight. You are the best in the ring. Congratulations. All you have earned is more hard work! There's two kinds of eulogies at funerals. One of them is, 'This is what this guy did.' The other one is, 'This is who this guy was.' When I'm dead and burned up and I'm ashes and I'm in the wind, I know which eulogy I want to have. I know what I want people to say about me at my funeral. And I know what I expect from you, Will. After a couple of years, I still don't think anybody sees it, man! They don't see what we have, what this place can be, what we've been gifted, what's at stake. The future of professional wrestling, our craft, what we grew up dreaming of doing, what kids around the world, just like us - nobodies from nowhere - what they're growing up dreaming of doing right now.

We have the future of pro wrestling in the palm of our hands. Whatever pro wrestling is going to be, it's going to be when we make it. Me, [he points at his fellow Death Riders] you, you, you, you. Will Ospreay. And anybody else who has the guts to do what it takes to be great. To really be great, to really grab life by the balls, to take this opportunity, to take this gift, and do something with it. Do something with it!"

[10.0] "An extraordinary promo that has become almost unbearably poignant in retrospect. Moxley is exceptional here, turning defeat into something much bigger about failure, gratitude, mortality and what it actually means to leave something behind, with the lines about losing people, every day being a gift and the king of eulogy you want at your funeral carrying an entirely different weight now. And then there is PAC, standing silently among the Death Riders in what would become his final appearance. Nothing about the moment was designed as a farewell, which somehow makes it even more devastating. An outstanding piece of wrestling storytelling when it aired, and now something far more powerful than anyone involved could ever have imagined."

It brilliantly reflects the narrative of life, death, and passion for professional wrestling. Who would have thought this would end up serving as the official farewell following Pac's passing... Rest in peace, Ben"

All Promo from beginning to the end was felt very emotional and dark. Perfect. This promo will be remembered as one of the most saddest in history."

[10.0] "Absolutely haunting, chilling, eerie, whatever word you want to use to describe it, but also profoundly beautiful. Completely unintentionally ended up becoming probably the biggest display of foreshadowing you'll ever see. It would have always been a great promo, the delivery is superb and the message incredibly beautiful, but seeing it on the Pac tribute show, not knowing it existed, with the content of it being so focussed on death, before that lingering shot of Pac at the end for the very last time...fuck. Will be a promo that is remembered forever."

But the context surrounding it makes it that much more heart breaking and solidifies it as perhaps the greatest promo ever. PAC being the last to walk off is so surreal, and the content of the promo, its like they knew what was going to happen. Im still in shock over everything... I dont think i can ever call a promo better than this. Rest in Peace, Ben"

[10.0] ""Eerie" is the word I've seen used to describe this promo tonight. And it was. Because this was supposed to be Mox's eulogy for the Butcher; his funeral was on Sunday, at the same time Pac passed. And, well, it just proves the point about Mox's thesis about eulogies is that the Butcher got the "this is what this guy was" eulogies. And so has Pac. But it's not only a brilliant promo when it comes to the Butcher and Pac; it's a brilliant demonstration of the character that Moxley has played for years, a prècis of the Death Rider philosophy. It's why they bagged Danielson two years ago, because as great as he is, he couldn't be the standard bearer for the new generation Mox wanted to build. It was never personal. It's why they were the greatest villains in AEW for a year, to forge iron with iron. And it's why Mox put Hangman over in Texas, and put Ospreay over all year. And in the light of PAC's untimely passing... it's even more prescient. I said a few weeks ago that tragedy often brings out the best performances in wrestling, because it throws away a stilted script and lets people talk from the heart. Well, this is the Ace's heart talking. Listen!"

[10.0] "There are no do overs. You're given this one shot at a life so you either take it and do the best that you can with it or wait around until the reaper comes knocking. Mox's way has certainly been the former and it shows. The past 7 years are testament to that. He's been world champion 4 times. Carried the company time and again. He's experienced a lot of the highs and lows both in and outside the squared circle. In any other context, these words cut deep like the sharpest knife. The surrounding circumstances here only make that resonate more as PAC would go on to pass away the following day. A colossal blow for the Death Riders and the whole pro wrestling community. The biggest loss there can be."
tinobmbino wrote on 01.10.2026:
[10.0] "I suppose Mox was thinking about funerals because the Andy Williams memorial the next day. The result was an eery premonition of the tragedy soon to befall PAC. Whatever the case, Mox has a beautiful way with words. The two kinds of eulogies line was so poignant that I am still ruminating on it the following day. Beautiful"
CheddyTheSicko wrote on 01.10.2026:
[10.0] "Absolutely harrowing, poignant, and emotional. Sometimes you can't make up the stuff life throws at you, and this promo will go down as such a beautiful but necessary moment in time. For Mox to talk so candidly about eulogies, death, and fighting every day to be your best would've been great any day of the week. Sadly, it's the loss of Andy Williams that preceded this, and the loss of PAC right after that makes it all so much more real and impactful. Mox and the Death Riders are easily my favorite thing in wrestling right now and this promo is a big reason why. Underneath the heel shenanigans and attempts at murder these guys are all about waking up every day and pushing yourself. Pushing yourself to be better, stronger, faster, smarter, and even angrier, because you need to fight, you need to stay alive, and any day could be your last."
realgrapslover wrote on 01.10.2026:
[10.0] "This promo felt very eerie especially based off the fact that we didn't see the promo until next Wednesday on Dynamite, where 4 days prior we were unfortunately informed that PAC had passed away. Moxley talking about death, funerals, and eulogies a day before PAC's death? Man, words cannot describe how weird this entire situation is. His last WWE match was on September 26, and so was his last AEW match against Andrade El Idolo at All Out. The final cherry on top that makes this even more heartbreaking and unreal is PAC being the last person to walk out of frame at the END of this promo. R.I.P PAC, R.I.P Benjamin Satterley."
shortshine wrote on 01.10.2026:
[10.0] "Even out of the context of the tribute show, this is still a perfect promo, which presumably would have aired in whole or in part on Dynamite or been posted on youtube as an online exclusive. It was the perfect capper to the Ospreay-Moxley-Death Riders storyline: Moxley may have lost the match, but in doing so, he proved to himself and the world that he made Ospreay, and by extension all of AEW, better in his eyes. And despite all the heel shenanigans the Death Riders have pulled over the years in service of this supposed mission, he feels that the ends justify the means, and that he's set Ospreay and AEW on a trajectory to become something truly great and unique and lasting. Now of course, over the past several weeks and possibly longer, they were teasing that PAC, Gabe Kidd and possibly other Death Riders might not agree, which presumably was the point of having PAC linger for a second, stare grimly at the camera, and walk out of frame after everyone else. Unfortunately, we'll never get to see that storyline play out that way, at least not with PAC involved. Now of course, in the context of PAC's death, what really resonates with people here is the seemingly clairvoyant nature of some of Moxley's words, especially the part about eulogies and funerals, and the eerie image of PAC standing alone for a second and being the last to walk out in what would be his final on-camera appearance. Mox, of course, couldn't have known what was going to happen less than 24 hours later, but clearly death has been front of mind for a lot of the locker room recently: the Rebel Heart show, the Butcher's death and tribute show, the scary moment with Steven Borden during All Out--all a reminder that life is fragile and sometimes we lose the best among us. I just wish this excellent promo could have been the final word on death and remembrance in pro wrestling for a while, rather than becoming immediately relevant again."
GreatAetherBoss wrote on 01.10.2026:
[10.0] "It seems almost surreal, impossible for the circumstances to play the way they have. On its own an amazing promo by Jon, highlighting his own awareness of his age and his legacy in the business and giving props to Ospreay, who is a clear pillar of the company for however long he's here. But man...the final Death Rider leaving being PAC, the last time we see him alive on screen in AEW is in this promo...words can't describe it."
ReiEscobar wrote on 01.10.2026:
[10.0] "That promo would be already legendary if it wasn't for all the circunstances. Jon Moxley goes emotional, talk about life and death and the possible consequences of his defeat, goes through everything that went inside his head. It's a lesson for anyone who wants to learn. But now, add the fact that not only was the last time we ever saw Pac on TV but also how that entire discuss works for the tribute show...it's the greatest backstage promo I ever saw in my entire life."

I honestly, truly, cannot believe or understand how this promo and the end of it even exists in this form."
PuroresuLover wrote on 01.10.2026:

Jon Moxley giving this highly emotional promo right after losing to Will Ospreay, talking about death, legacy, memories... and PAC is right there, just hours before his tragic passing. The promo itself is sensational, Moxley does a great job here, but given the current context, it becomes something mystical and almost like a clairvoyant speaking."

Talking about eulogies, losing and winning in life, 24h before what happened, it's stunning. Out of that context, this promo is tremendous, you can hear emotions and guts through Jon Moxley's voice and words. Very inspiring. Thank god Jon exist."

But PAC's passing, a few hours after this promo makes it one of the most touching promos I've ever heard. And the last shot of this promo made me shed a tear, PAC leaving last, and it's the last time we saw him. This is so hard"

Mox is just so amazing at getting his point across and showing how much this shit means to him and why he wrestles every single show. But then the part about eulogies and how you want to be remembered has a whole new meaning that makes this even more special. It is so eerie and rings so true that you would almost think it was filmed after they found out PAC had passed away. Then the fact PAC is the last person in frame for his final moment in AEW was just beautiful. God Bless Mox and the Death riders and RIP PAC."

He spoke about eulogies, he spoke about them and about pro wrestling in a way befitting of PAC. This would've been an incredible promo either way, but the circumstances made it a promo that I will never ever ever ever forget as long as I live. RIP PAC"

They had to have filmed this afterwards and now are disgustingly trying to pass it off as having been done before. But then Mox stands up, and the guy who died is not only right there, but he's the last one to walk out of the frame, and this scene that was probably spoken and filmed the way it was to be taken one very specific way for storyline purposes, in the wake of tragedy takes on whole new meaning, and whole new weight."
