CM Punk: "I'm at the point... In my career where, sometimes, people ask me 'how many matches... Do I have left in these old bones?' And depending on how you feel about me, the answer is either wildly disappointing or it makes you tremendously happy, because the answer... Is WAY more than you think. [Crowd cheers, 'CM Punk' chants ensue] When I came back... To the WWE, I said I did not come here to make friends and that didn't necessarily mean that I came here to make a mortal enemy, but that's exactly what I have done. So much so... That the only way to end this, between Drew McIntyre and myself, is in Hell in a Cell. [Crowd cheers and claps] I feel a little bit naive to think that I thought this was over, because I touched four turnbuckles in Berlin. Maybe Drew was a little bit naive to think that this was gonna be all over because he jumped me in Chicago months ago and tried to drag my wife and my dog into this mess. [Crowd boos] We, probably, all agree that it shoulda stopped the second time Drew sent me to a hospital, two weeks ago. [Crowd cheers] But I'm just too damn stubborn. [Crowd cheers] Drew's fatal mistake in all of this is not getting the job done, but now things are drastically different. People can ask me 'How many Hell in a Cell matches do you have left in you?'. The honest answer... [makes a zero hand gesture] Is 0. [Crowd reacts in disappointment, one fan booing, Punk then starts to fight back tears]

My little sister's asked me not to do this, my wife asked me not to do this, maybe the angel on my shoulder begged me not to do this. So... Armed with all of that information... Please allow me to tell you exactly why I am going to do this. [Crowd cheers and does 'CM Punk' chants] The last time I was in Portland, I sat there and I told Drew 'If you push me far enough, I can become the devil himself. [see Note 1] [Crowd cheers] And now the devil's here, the DEVIL in my heart tells me the only way this ends is in Hell in a Cell, the same HEART Drew McIntyre promised that he was gonna get to stop beating. And Drew McIntyre, [camera slowly starts zooming in on CM Punk] I can't promise I'm gonna kill you, [Crowd goes "Ooh!"] because I won't make promises that I 100% cannot deliver on. So here is my promise, I'm gonna make you bleed. [Crowd cheers] And I promise, [CM Punk starts walking up to the camera] that you are going to HAVE to KILL ME! [Crowd cheers] Because I am prepared to DIE, I am prepared for this heart to stop beating, I am prepared for all of this to be over with! I had a great career, and if this is the end, so-be-it. [Crowd cheers] I'm prepared for this to be the end of CM Punk and if you're prepared for this to be the end of Drew McIntyre, [Gets closer to the camera] then I'll see you in Hell!" [Crowd cheers, CM Punk drops the mic and leaves]

[6.0] "What is this bs rating....9 come on guys, this was the least interesting thing CM punk has done for this whole feud. I mean it wasn't a bad promo but it wasn't a greatest of all time promo like this rating suggests. The only thing keeping this whole feud even interesting at this stage is Drew"

[9.0] "This is my best promo of the year 2024. A lot of people think Punk's promo from 12/30/24 is the best of 2024, but this one trumps the 12/30 promo for me. This is the epitome of Punk's current character - the one who is willing to do anything, even end his career, even DIE, in order to keep his spot as the best in the world. The audience reacts, but Punk isn't intentionally working the crowd. He is speaking directly to Drew, as well as revving himself up to step into the cell again at 46 years old, which he acknowledges is not wise. But he HAS to. It's bone chilling."

[7.0] "I know it's most likely not happening, but a double turn to end this feud would be one of the best things I would have ever seen. They already have done a good job at Drew's side seeming justified, and subtly making Punk's promos darker and emphasizing his tenure could lead to him being a corporate heel, which is a new side of Punk I would love to see. Call it E-Fed booking, but the only thing I got out of this promo was that it is something they should lean into."

[6.0] "I don't know what I hate more: this new ass-kissing CM Punk that tries to portray himself as the good guy while in reality being full of shit or people who overrate him? The hell did this promo for those ratings? 9's? 10's? What did Punk did so great here? He hasn't cut a good worthy promo of his since the one he did in the skybox a few months ago. This was the most generic way of selling a Hell In A Cell match you could imagine (bringing in his family, speak about how he is "turning" into something dark, how HIAC is basically a suicide but having to go to it anyways...), but at least it makes sense, so not everything is bad. I hope he delivers his promise and makes Drew truly bleed (and I mean bleed, not just having a little cut that gets cleaned up just like that. I want to see a damn good crimson mask on both men's faces). This was nowhere near a promo worthy of those high ratings at all, but at least it was better than the usual late Punk's nice guy crap."

[10.0] "An exceptional oration from Punk, whose craft hath grown ever more profound as he doth reacquaint himself with the hallowed halls of the WWE, whereupon he may indulge in discourse less constrained by the bounds of PG. Verily, it was a most fitting means to further kindle our anticipation for the impending spectacle of Hell in a Cell."

[8.0] "CM Punk over the past year has been an interesting study in how a wrestler starts to decline, hidden by the much more precipitous decline of Chris Jericho over the past year. Which is why I was actually pretty impressed with Punk's promo this week, all things considered. Triple H's booking style really hasn't done this feud any favours, but I'm glad that we've got past the silly bracelet arc and now we're going to be treated to what this feud should've been in the beginning: two men who hate each other wanting to hurt each other as much as they can. The point of giving a microphone to a wrestler in the first place is for him to sell a match that he's going to be in, and we're starting to see glimpses of past greatness from Punk."

[9.0] "A really good promo from Punk as his work is getting more serious as he is acclimating back to a WWE atmosphere and can go a bit less "PG". Arguably his best solo promo since his return to WWE."
SKeL wrote on 19.09.2024:
[7.0] "Very overrated imo, don't get me wrong it was good but it was not THAT GOOD. It felt very overdramatic and forced, we all know how the PG version of hell in a cell looks like so please don't act like it will be a murder scene. This is not one of Punk's best promos ever so it should not be rated as such"
Raditz Flair wrote on 18.09.2024:
[7.0] "Promos have never been an issue with Punk. It's everything else and in 2024 his in ring performances have been slow and uninspiring. I'm really over the now trope of "you'll have to kill me". EVERY blood feud has someone saying it now and it has zero meaning because of it. It's so hyperbolic in a silly way that it makes me laugh. Otherwise this is a good, solid promo for a good build up."
Trombek Kushinika wrote on 18.09.2024:
[8.0] "A return to form here on the stick for the Punker. Calm and subdued promo delivered with passion and intensity getting over the fact that he means what he is saying. Keeps the feud alight and lays the groundwork well for the run into hell in a cell. Would have scored higher if Drew was involved in some way rather than this just being a soliloquy."
Pigeon Scratch wrote on 18.09.2024:
[10.0] "Excellent promo, and a welcome return to classic form from CM Punk with his return to the WWE. Of course, not saying that Punk hasn't been excellent on the mic ever since he has returned to wrestling, but this is certainly up there in his promos of the past couple years. Dry, yet absolutely emotionally driven, and unmistakable seriousness that Punk has always been fantastic at cutting. This is how you sell a blood feud in the WWE, and certainly a great way to help reinvigorate Hell in a Cell after what I would say a decade of it almost never being used properly."
AtomicCody21 wrote on 18.09.2024:
[9.0] "This has to be one of CM Punk's best promos since his return to WWE last November. No levity, no playing to the crowd, CM Punk expertly sold the seriousness of competing inside Hell in a Cell and his willingness to sacrifice his career if it meant ending his beef with Drew McIntyre. For the first time in a long while, the Hell in a Cell stipulation has that feeling of danger that was lost when WWE made it into a yearly PPV 15 years ago. Hell in a Cell should be the nuclear option for a feud, and the wrestlers should sell that the structure like it could end careers. A great promo and a even greater sell for Bad Blood and the Cell match."

robbyplaha wrote on 18.09.2024:

Some Guy wrote on 17.09.2024:
[10.0] "Excellent promo from CM Punk. He was fully serious here, no pandering to the crowd or internet references. He gave his reasons for why he wants to face Drew in a Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood and why he's not going to back down. Promising blood is interesting and only builds more hype for the match. This is Punk at his best. 10/10"

Definitely hyping their match at Bad Blood to be extremely brutal and make it feel like a grand ending to his long but exciting rivalry with Drew McIntyre."

Bad Blood is definitely gonna be bloody alright. Seriously, Bad Blood can't come any sooner now that promo was said. Actually let me edit this. This is one of CM Punks best promos of all time. Just my opinion but thats how I really feel."
