Tony Schiavone: "Yeah guys, coming up on Saturday Night at the Kia Forum, at Full Gear: a Texas Death Match. This one is going to be absolutely brutal. There is no doubt. We're gonna have a face-to-face right now with the two combatants laying some ground rules you may have read on social media. Tonight neither man can attack the other. If there is an attack, both men will be suspended for the remainder of 2023. In addition, the match at Full Gear will be called off. With that in mind, let's meet the two men. First of all, along with Prince Nana, Swerve Strickland.

[Swerve Strickland comes to the ring, with Prince Nana dancing in tow.]

And now fans, Swerve's opponent for Saturday Night's Texas Death Match at the KIA Forum and on Pay-Per-View, 'Hangman' Adam Page.

[Adam Page power walks his way to the ring with his eyes set on Swerve. He and Strickland come face-to-face.]

Gentlemen, I must remind you again, if either man attacks the other both you men will be suspended for the remainder of 2023 and the match at Full Gear coming up Saturday will be off. Swerve Strickland, my question is to you, how can you justify going to a man's house--"

[Swerve grabs the microphone out of Tony's hand. Adam Page then grabs the microphone out of Swerve's hand.]

Adam Page: "No, I'll answer that question for you, huh? Why did Swerve go into my house? Swerve, because you are a coward! You are a fraud! You're a phony! You are a worthless, worthless waste of human life, and you are a grade-A dumbass. You are dumber today than you were two years ago when your dumbass got fired. [see Note 1] And you told me-- you told me two months ago that you wanted to be World Champion, that you were the kind of man that these people think that I am but I can look at you and I can see it right now: you don't have it in you. You can't cut it. You are not the man that you think you are. It's the reason your fiancé left you and it's the reason your kids won't talk to you. [Swerve is getting visibly angry.] That's right. Look at me! Look at me! You're the one who wanted to make this personal, huh? Swerve, you are a coward. You don't surround yourself with family or friends. You surround yourself with yes-men like the Gates of Agony, like Brian Cage. And if you weren't such a dumbass, you'd know that Prince Nana is just using you. Nana gets to come out here. He does his funny little dance. He sells his t-shirts. [Nana does the dance.] Yeah. And Swerve, Prince Nana makes his living off of your back. And when the show's over, he goes down to the hotel parking lot and he spends that living buying weed from a high school kid. [The crowd oohs.]

Prince Nana: [Yelling] "That is not true!"

Adam Page: "But Nana, after I beat Swerve's ass, I'm going to beat your ass and I'm going to steal your weed.

Prince Nana: [Yelling] "No you're not! No you're not! You're not gonna do that." [The crowd begin to chant 'steal his weed.']

Adam Page: "Swerve! Swerve, look at me! Look at me! You... not only are not the man you think you are, you are not a man at all. You are a child! And I worked with kids for a long time and I taught them a lot of lessons. And this Saturday I teach you what will be the last lesson of your pathetic life. You, Swerve, you should have never... ever come into my house. And we don't need lawyers, we don't need the cops, because at Full Gear; I am your judge, I am your jury, and I am your executioner. And I will take you to spend an eternity in 'Swerve's House' at the bottom of hell! [Page throws the microphone down and goes to leave the ring before turning around and picking up the mic as the crowd chants 'Cowboy Shit.']

And Swerve, there's one last thing I forgot to mention. Tonight's stipulation was that you and I could not lay hands on one another. But Nana... they ain't said shit about us." [Page strikes Nana and takes Nana down as Swerve calls for help. Security come in to the ring and pull Page off of Nana, as Strickland pulls Nana out of the ring. Page lays out a couple of the security guards with strikes and takes another out with a Buckshot Lariat. The segment ends with Swerve stood at the ramp with Nana behind him. Hangman defiantly stares back at him, standing on the middle rope.]

[9.0] "A promo that reminded everybody how great Hangman can be on the mic. I loved his intensity and passion throughout the entire segment with legit death threats and great lines, especially the one about Swerve getting fired. But I also really liked the Nana bits and the line about weed that was simply hilarious. The brawl was also quite entertaining with Hangam hitting a buckshot latiat on a security guard. I liked how their feud started with Swerve verbally destroying Hangman but now the tables have turned and Hangman destroyed Swerve on the mic."

[7.0] "This feud was one of the highlights of last year for me, with a trilogy ending in an amazing deathmatch. I hope this rivalry continues and turns into a longterm storyline as these 2 brought the best out of eachother, hangman's promo work improved a lot during this and this was a nice promo that really sold their blood feud despite the comedic segment with nana."

[8.0] "I think there's a few too many comedy moments for the sake of comedy (e.g., referencing Prince Nana buying weed off of a teenager feels a bit out of place for what Hangman's new ethos is). Despit that, it was incredibly entertaining. Despite my gripes, that's what AEW is -- pure authenticity."
