"148 days it took to get all of your attention"

[Intercontinental Champion The Miz is fresh off of his memorable Talking Smack shoot promo (see Note 1) with Daniel Bryan the previous week that got the wrestling community talking. Now, he kicks off SmackDown alongside his wife Maryse with the same passion.]

The Miz: "Cut the music! [Crowd chimes in with boos] Now do I have your attention?! Don't you dare boo me. [Crowd boos] DON'T YOU DARE BOO ME! [Boos continue] After I have been pushed aside week after week after week, for my General Manager or my Commissioner, you're gonna sit there and boo me?! [Crowd boos]

148 days it took to get all of your attention! For a prestigious title that was once prestigious, but now? Now it's been tarnished by quitters and serial failures, but it will rise to the relevance once again because of me, the Intercontinental Champion. Yet, yet yet I am your Intercontinental Champion but I have a soft style! I don't like to get hit in the face... Maybe it's because I'm a great champion, maybe- maybe that's why. I'm not like the other losers that actually get hit; I'm a person that's smarter and more talented that finds a way not to get hit!

And... my General Manager, he wanna apologize to me, Commisioner agrees with him... but you people, you don't get it! You don't see the big picture, you don't see what's on the surf-- All you see is what's on the surface. You don't see what goes on back there! You don't know! Who do you think that they call when they need someone to be a spokesperson? Me. Who do you think they call for a commercial? Me. A movie? Me. A red carpet? Me. A person to main event WrestleMania, then go ahead and play a FREAKIN' CHICKEN?! ME! I do it all day in and day out, never getting injured. But you all seem to think that I am unworthy, that you boo me because I didn't spend the first twelve of my years in the wrestling career wrestling in VFW halls in front of fifty people. And yet you sit here and you cheer and you applaud people that get opportunity after opportunity after opportunity and end up failing. But me? I am not a failure. What does that make you people? What is it make you, huh? I wanna know what it makes all of you when you call me unworthy. It makes all of you cowards. [Crowd boos] And you know why you are all cowards? Because you sit there--" [Dolph Ziggler's music hits as he interrupts The Miz]

Dolph Ziggler: "Miz, you're out here making a lot of great points man... You do it all, you do the red carpets, you do the TV shows, you do the movies, you do the commercials. But there is a reason all these people will never get behind you, they see through everything that you do. WWE Superstars, we live a great life, we love this, we live for this business, we all go above and beyond to be the best but you... you just wanna be famous!

That's... why no one will ever believe in you. That's why Daniel Bryan calls you soft and a coward. That's why no one will ever believe in you Miz, because we see through the facade, we see through everything; you just wanna walk a red carpet and hold up a title and be famous. And every single week you, and you alone, have a chance to change that perception, prove to everyone you're not a coward, you're not soft. You have a chance every time you walk down that ramp in front of these people to prove to them that you belong, to prove that you're not a coward... Yet you don't. So you wanna talk about opportunities Miz? You wanna talk about proving yourself? You wanna prove to these people, you wanna prove to Daniel Bryan, you wanna prove to your wife [Crowd reacts with 'Whoa'] You wanna prove to yourself that you're not a coward..? Well then do it right now. No title shots Miz, no referees, no ring bell. You and me right now - prove to the entire world that you can fight me right here, right now, and you prove to yourself that you're not a coward. You got a chance! You got a chance to prove it. You and me right now. [Crowd start chanting 'Yes' as Miz escorts his wife out of the ring to seemingly fight, but he also gets out of the ring implying he wants to take his clothes off and then get back to the ring. Then Miz looks ready to enter the ring but after teasing to go in, he decides to leave, prompting the crowd to heavily boo]

I guess Daniel Bryan was right, Miz. I guess the entire world was right. You're nothing but a soft, safe coward." [Crowd cheers as Miz gets angry and wants to get back to the ring but Maryse convinces him not to, crowd chants 'Coward' at Miz]
