He definitely goes a bit unprofessional at points, but honestly, it's justified when you see the state of backstage in AEW. Punk gets the fans hyped up with this promo in spectacular faction, and he sets up this awesome angle with his Real AEW World Championship belt which sadly wouldn't get paid off."
[6.0] "It was alright, maybe it went too far at some points. I don't mind this sort of stuff, using real life stuff to get a reaction is what CM Punk does best and it works. Hate or love him you can't deny his ability to get people to listen and hear him."
[7.0] "A very solid return promo slightly hampered by a few dumb lines (One Bill Phil, all the shots at the Elite). It did a good job of setting up a sadly unfulfilled angle of Punk going around claiming to still be the champ with his old belt."
[0.0] "All this was was him getting to stroke his ego and refuse to learn from his actions while avoiding facing the consequences, leading to one of the lesser runs in history, because Punk couldn't keep his ego in check to the point that WWE had to put a behavioral clause in his new contract just so he wouldn't assault more coworkers. Tell you when you're telling lies, Punk? Well, you're telling lies. And apparently, I'm stuck having to type more characters than usual which I think is rather bull, but I get it, it can't just be one word or whatever and you really NEED to explain yourself to curb spamming ratings, but shouldn't that also be the case for spamming positive ratings? I dunno about you, but you can't have it only one way and pretend the other isn't an issue. Just saying."
[10.0] "This dude had the audacity to say fuck you I'm not sorry and I'm still the champ in one promo. Keeping this one plain simple and short. One word. Legend. Awesome promo. Probably one of the best promos in AEW and wrestling history. It's just so notable."
[8.0] "I mean folks... the capstone promo to his AEW run and possibly his career, CM Punk gives you a taste of what could have been on weekly AEW TV; the only guy who seems to know how to do worked shoot promos anymore. We can only wonder what could have been."
[10.0] "This is a great promo. You don't have to agree with everything in it, but it had peoples attention and he's got it. He is only proving that people are truly soft."

"Fairly decent return promo that does a good job setting up his return run and hyping up future matches, he does a good job at bringing up the fact that he never lost the belt. Overall I don't think it was very special, just did a good job for what it was."

Punk is excellent at blurring the lines and getting fans to buy in to what he is selling, and he did that here, but this promo did feel somewhat meandering and unfocused. Still though, it's hard to deny that Punk isn't charismatic as all hell and the crowd ate out of the palm of his hand."

Either way, it did the job but it wasn't remarkable. I'm also not a fan of his "Tell me when I'm telling lies" catch phrase. I'm not sure why, it just grinds on me a little personally."
[0.0] "It was a selfish, hypocritical, pretentious promo. Still doesn't know what he's done wrong and his seemingly blaming Young Bucks is supporting that up. And people still like Punk no matter what he did. Isn't that pathetic?"

[10.0] "Punker coming back with a vengeance, another reason to love his character. He goes completely off, seemingly turning heel but being in Chicago, the faithful refuse to boo. Interested to see where this goes."
[4.0] "The delivery was great as always because Punk is one of the best talker in the world but the material was quite bad. We basically got a 45yo grown man who compliments himself for 10 minutes and tells his fans how smart they are while other people are soft ------- The entire promo revolves around the catchphrase "tell me when I'm telling lies" but he literally lies 20 seconds after saying it which is quite hilarious (he never sold out budokan). Then the line about fans being as soft as the wrestlers they like is very bad because dividing the fanbase never is a good idea, and telling people that they are soft when you injured yourself twice in your last two matches is again quite hilarious. And the worst thing for me is that there was not a single word about his match tonight, how the hell you do a 10 min promo and you never promote the main event of the show ? ------- The rest of the promo is hard to judge because we need to see how it goes, if he was in character and is about to turn heel then it was real good shit, but if he was genuine and doesn't turn heel then it was absolute garbage and the dude is the biggest egomaniac in all of wrestling. This promo can only work in Chicago, the crowd ate it up so I can't rate it lower because it worked for the audience and like I said the delivery was on point"
[10.0] "This is the GOAT forever and ever, nobody can touch this man on the mic at all. Tell him when he's telling lies. He didn't come across as a heel in this promo, he came across as a face with a few gripes. This wasn't off the cuff cause you can tell he had this written for a while, usually Punk doesn't do that but for this he had a lot of time to think. I'm so excited to have Punk back."
[3.0] "This guy proceeded to lie after saying ''Tell me when I'm telling lies'' lmfao. Said a whole bunch of nothing and got in the ''Counterfeit Bucks'' line and the ''Soft'' comments. What a promo! Legendary."
[2.0] "I think there's a solid enough argument to say this was AEW's Bash At The Beach 2000 meltdown. Where exactly is the work? Where on television has there been any reference to the Elite and Punk having any sort of animosity? That's the thing, there is no work. This was just another miserable work-shoot promo with talking points straight from anti-AEW twitter accounts. Hey, if it turns out a program between the aforementioned parties eventually does happen in the next year, then I'll eat my shorts. Overall, I found this promo disappointing and pointless. Oh and here's the lie that bugged me the most: you never sold out the fucking Budokan, Phil."

Hyped up him being back, didn't directly address the reasons he was gone which is good cuz who wants to see more of that right now, got some really good zingers in, and it set up a future program with MJF because they have unfinished business. All around what I wanted and what I got. There are people who are gonna hate it cuz he insulted their favorite wrestlers, some people are even going as far as to wish he gets hurt again. Which is insane. Go listen to it for yourself cuz it's a great promo."
[10.0] "This promo was great. CM Punk is my favorite wrestler in Elite and I am very happy that he is back and this promo was a good start for the first collision in history."
[1.0] "Awful promo that didnt even really give me a good outlet to boo Punk. After months of falling out of favor for Punk, coming back in this manner was just not something I wanted. A big portion of not liking the first episode of collision was my pure disdain for this promo and delivery and how it didnt even properly set up the VERY MATCH HE HAD THAT NIGHT. I didnt miss this guy and if this is the first thing he does when comes back, I dont mind if he gets put on the shelf again."
[4.0] "Watching this promo, I was extremely underwhelmed. For someone who is generally credited as the best at these work-shoot promos, this was extremely bland and generic I thought. It hit the work-shoot notes, but didnt have any substance. I genuinely disliked this promo. Ill give it 4 points because the crowd ate it up and that did help some, but personally I found this to be the weakest of Punks signature work-shoot style."
[10.0] "Another promo for the ages for old Pepsi Phil, the callback to his 2013 run in the E by taking off the AEW symbol from the microphone, calling the promotion "professional wrestling" instead of All Elite, refusing to bring the name of the people who tried to tarnish his reputation (Hangman, Bucks) and proceeding to deliver his speech with being tired of playing the good guy and the right conotation and delivery of the catchphrase "telling me when I'm telling lies" just got to show us he's back and driven by the anger of everything that happened, from the injury to the stupid off-screen rivalry with The Elite and the so-called "professional wrestling journalists" the business has. Welcome back, Punk!"
[2.0] "This was a bad promo imo. Contradictory in both fact and in meaning, Punk went out there saying he's changed, but then continued to play the same old "Voice of the voiceless" gimmick. Also calling the Elite soft when you got injured twice in 3 matches and proceeded to cry and moan for month on end, let alone the media scrum is hilarious"
[9.0] "Excellent return promo from one of the greats to ever do it. The crowd ate it up as expected. It had the usual unpredictability of a CM Punk promo, which threads in reality with storylines, and the controversy and edginess you come to know from his career resume. There is still no one quite like him. Love him or hate him, he has the carte blanche to say whatever is on his mind and thats part of what makes him the biggest star in AEW. Hopefully he doesnt self destruct and he has a good run as the face of Collision."
[8.0] "Good promo with a very controversial subject. Punk delivery is his best skill and having a crowd fully behind him helps. My problem with this promo is one talking about the bag, he was stripped of the title due to injury and he lost the title, should he get a rematch, probably and MJF should win, but he shouldn't still have the title. The other problem is what does this promo do for the backstage politic issues that AEW face, I understand Punk but this promo will not change peoples mind and it does nothing to help Punk, the Elite or AEW"
