Sting vs. Vader

"These two were perfect for each other in early 1990s WCW. It's a shame that Hulk Hogan came in in 1994 and kind of broke up this rivalry by wanting Vader to be his big bad and also bury the big man. Thankful that we got the matches between Sting and Vader that we did."

[9.0] "My personal favourite rivalry of WCW - these two had amazing chemistry both inside and out of the squared circle. Surfer Sting was the perfect babyface foil to the all conquering immovable object at the top that was Big Van Vader."

[9.0] "Vader is certainly Sting's best rival when it comes to in-ring delivery, they had awesome matches in the early 90s, when Sting was still the surfer, and the dynamic between them was awesome, their matches have an 'easy' storytelling, but it's extremely well executed and the trilogy of matches they have is truly remarkable, stands out during that period. Sting was in his prime when their matches happened, and it's a hell of a rivalry... Vader is a monster, he dominates his opponents and likes to inflict pain, he's a very stiff wrestler, who makes everything look real, and Sting was the perfect white meat babyface to feud with him, it's an infallible matchup. The psychology of their matches was almost always Vader dominating, and Sting showing heart, performing comebacks like a proper babyface, a superhero, and that's why it was so cool, it's old-school and the people loved it, that evident clash of characters and virtues looked tremendous. Very underrated rivalry, the contrast between them was beautiful to watch."

[9.0] "Great rivalry punctuated by some class matches. Sting and Vader had great chemistry and the matches always allowed both men to shine with Vader being booked as the monster heel and Sting being the fiery underdog. Some of Sting's and Vader's best ever work. Hard hitting and fun matches."

Vader is the greatest big man in the entire sport, and Sting may be one of the best pure babyface athletes in the sport as well. When you have two guys in the prime of their career who are so different from one another, magic happens. These matches are simply incredible."

[10.0] "My all time favorite "David vs Goliath" match up. The breaking of Sting's ribs (legitimately) had me worried for my hero. When Vader beat Sting at The Great American Bash I was crestfallen. Sting got his wins in though and showed insane feats of physical strength here. Tremendous chemistry and story telling all over the place, these two were made for each other. This is the kinda thing I've gotten non fans into, which I think speaks volumes. Ranking extremely high on my personal list."
