[8.0] "Well, the two of them had worked before at WrestleMania. They worked in the semi-main at WrestleMania 17. However, the emphasis on this go around of a rivalry was the streak at WrestleMania of The Undertaker that was now a thing. Something that they didn't mention at all during the build to 17 which made this a brand new match up. Triple H's whole thing his entire career, particularly as a heel, has always been that when he goes after something, he does it obsessively and will do pretty much anything and everything to make sure he gets what he wants. Normally it is a world or WWE title, but this time it was something even bigger...it was the streak. Especially after The Undertaker ended the career of his best friend, Shawn Michaels in a career vs streak match the year before at WrestleMania. Because in Triple H's eyes, ending the streak at that point in taker's career poetically meant the end of the Undertaker's career as a whole, which would've been justice for Shawn. Undertaker's schtick was more so the opposite. The streak wasn't made to be broken, many tried to, amd many failed, and if he felt the time was right Hunter is who he'd want to do it out of mutual respect but the time wasn't right, and what have you but he could try as hard as he might. That ended up being the story of the mania match was that, even with the no disqualification stipulation, Triple H could put Undertaker down, but he couldn't put him away to put the 1 in 18-1. The streak lived on, but there was uncertainty whether the Deadman had finally been put down fir good or not as he had to be carted out on a cart instead of leaving on his own power like he had in all Mania's past."

[0.0] "For the life of me I could never get into this feud at all, not even a little bit. First they teased Sting but obviously couldn't get him, and then we got the awful "wordless" challenge. Triple H pointing at his crotch, apparently this means he wants to fight. When they did talk it was even worse, acting like they were miles above anyone else on the roster and basically existing in their own little universe. When the big day came they took up a ridiculous amount of time on a show that really could have used it, and the match itself is a plodding bore, at least to me, rife with lengthy periods of nothing happening and moments of melodrama so silly it strains even the strongest suspension of disbelief. Afterwards Triple H proclaims nobody else could have had a match so good and craps on the rest of the roster. Awful."
