[10.0] "The Matt Hardy vs. MVP feud was sports-entertainment magic -- a rare midcard rivalry that blended storytelling, comedy, intensity, and long-term character work into something way better than anyone expected. At its core, this feud was about ego vs. authenticity: MVP, the arrogant U.S. Champion with something to prove, and Matt Hardy, the blue-collar workhorse who just kept grinding his way into relevance. But what made this feud special wasn't just the matches -- it was the dynamic. Instead of just doing a string of basic brawls, WWE leaned into their chemistry and gave us a story arc: reluctant tag team partners, bizarre competitions (chess, boxing, basketball), and eventually co-holding the Tag Team Titles while feuding for MVP's U.S. Title. It was fresh, funny, and layered -- the kind of storytelling you rarely see outside the main event. When Matt finally won the U.S. Title at Backlash 2008, it meant something. It was the payoff of months of tension, jealousy, and pride -- and the crowd reaction said it all. The feud made MVP better, it reminded fans how damn good Matt could be, and it helped elevate the U.S. Title in an era when that belt badly needed meaning. Matt vs. MVP was proof that with two invested performers and a little creative freedom, even a midcard feud can feel like the hottest thing on the show."

[9.0] "I still remember this feud after all these years, how they competed in basketball, how they faced Deuce and Domino in a tag feud in the middle, to me this was MVP and Matt Hardy at their peaks. Probably strange to be the first feud I think of rating but it was that memorable and fun to me personally."
