[9.0] "Between 2004-2010, the wrestling scene in Santiago was dominated by Revolución Lucha Libre, since the promotion almost monopolized the sport in the city. However, in the next decade, RLL's dominance slowly weakened, as new promotions were created. Generación Lucha Libre was one of them. However, unlike promotions like XNL, LAKONN and Legión Lucha Libre, which were founded by former RLL wrestlers and trainees who were unhappy with the promotion's management, GLL had a completely different origin. GLL was founded by independent wrestlers, independent trainees, and former wrestlers from the recently defunct promotion Máximo Combate de Lucha. GLL beginnings were very humble, since they didn't have much financial resources. They featured lots of cartoony characters in their shows, and most of the participants were still very green in the ring. While many fans were skeptical of the promotion's success, they indeed managed to persevere against all odds. They were smart enough to organize their promotion with the legal status of "sports club" (in Chile, this kind of legal status allows them to receive financial aid from the goverment). Also, their shows improved over the years, as their wrestlers became better, and also as they cross-promoted matches with wrestlers from other promotions. They are largely responsible for the creation or popularization of many household names, like Ram-C, Broek-1, CJC, Hood Hart, Berken, Raizor, Flypan, Nikano, Revolt, Davey Freezer, Freddy Navaja, Fanni Cool, and The Maze, among many others. This promotion also featured the beginning of Dark Angel, the future Stephanie Vaquer."
