[6.0] "I had a hard time enjoying this but when I did, all was well. First they absorbed World Class, when that company was very close to worthless (but that angle *was* well done). Then they became the "new" Memphis, which felt like the old Memphis minus excitement and intrigue. Then they become a farm system for the WWF and gained a little steam. Said steam turned into a giant wet spot on the floor and the end was a slippery slope to nowhere. Some gold in there even with all of the caveats: When they were still doing shows at The Sportatorium: Cactus Jack! The time in Texas didn't last long though. Downtown Bruno was a far better character and name than Harvey Wippleman (wrestlecrap name btw). You got to see Mo and Mabel NOT suck as The Harlem Knights. You got to see The Rock before he was The Rock but he was still kinda The Rock anyway. Things like PG-13 fucking SUCKED (pardon my language but they *were* gawdawful garbage water). Steve Doll looked like he finally belonged somewhere with the USWA. Brickhouse Brown had some good stuff here and might have been his peak as a worker. I was feeling most of Doug Gilbert's work there and before she was "Jacqueline" she was Miss Texas and she was AWESOME. As you see, I will glow about as much as I will poo on; this always results in a middle score no matter what, when, where or who you are in wrestling. 5.5"

"My first show was a USWA event, and it made me fall in love with the spectacle that is professional wrestling. Let's Go Moondogs!"

Vince used USWA to not only help his wrestlers develop characters, he also took ideas such as the Nation of Domination from here and of course Brain Christopher who would go on to be semi successful in WWF. This is also where Vince first started being Vince the man we know today, an evil man who will do anything to get what he wants."

A lot of times WWF guys would go their to flesh out gimmicks, get repackaged and tested for new gimmicks, and eventually be brought back to live WWF television. There's a lot of gems and notable things from this period, such as multiple versions of what would be the early Nation of Domination, the first iteration of the Rock, a serious Brian Christopher, and Fake Razor Ramon getting rid of the Razor gimmick. Very much appreciate watching it today just for the old school minimalist feel."
