[8.0] "Going through old footage from the PNW in the early 1980's. Here is a yearly summary. 1982: Looks like it was filmed in a dark basement of a fraternity house, but the action was much better than some of the more prominent promotions. They tried so hard to push Brett Sawyer, for which as bad of a heel promo guy that his brother Buzz was, he is equally as bad as a baby face promo. Rip Oliver was a much more interesting character. Wrestler of the Year: Rip Oliver. 1983: Loved the Buddy Rose face turn storyline against Oliver's Clan. Literally the audience poured into the ring to celebrate the turn. Billy Jack Haynes was the total package, and one of the better baby faces in 1983 territory wrestling. Cool seeing a young Curt Hennig work as a face. The wrestling itself was similar to the speed of the CWA & WCCW, as opposed to the slow methodical matches in WWF, AWA, MACW & GCW. Wrestler of the Year: Buddy Rose. 1984: One of the smaller territories, but I enjoyed the storytelling and the wrestlers they showcased. Year starts off with a Matt Bourne face turn against Rip Oliver's Clan, which led to a bloody feud. Then in the Summer Buddy Rose returns and turns heel on Matt Bourne leading to a second bloody feud. Rose was pure entertainment. Wrestler of the Year: Matt Bourne"

[8.0] "Don and Herb Owen were well known as upstanding promoters, to the point where their biggest draw, Roddy Piper, vowed never to compete in the North West against PNW in the early 1990s even after he left the promotion. The Owen family put on a classic American wrestling product that was a bright spot from the territory days to the promotion's demise."

[7.0] "For the audience they appealed to, it was great. Don Owen really pushed the old style of doing things. Slow matches, 2 out of 3 falls for everything. It was a really good territory for guys to learn how to work and break in. Guys like Roddy Piper, Curt Hennig, Tom Zenk, Buddy Rose and others all made names in Portland."
