"0 Marigold has no sense of copyright at all. Even when the problem arise, their attitude is not good and they current show no remorse for the infringement caused to STARDOM at all. Moreover, Marigold booked a memorial event at a venue known for commemorating World War II war criminals. This promotion really has some problems. I really like Mayu and Shinno here. I sincerely hope they can change to a different promotion to have better development instead of this toxic one. Especially for the young Shinno, her prospects are very promising from my point of view."

[3.0] "I've visited 2 marigold shows in person now, one in 2024, and one in 2025, and somehow the show in 2025 was even worse than the one in 2024. When i visit wrestling shows in real life i often watch them with more excitement than i would watching them online, because real life bias is real, but with Marigold i genuinely couldn't wait for it to be over. Everything Rossy books in Marigold essentially feels like it's copying his Stardom bookings but making it worse. From 2020 on you could see that Rossy was gradually on the decline as a booker, and in Marigold his booking will eventually reach rock bottom. This company is extremely lucky that Rossy has loyal fans and that they got Utami and Mayu in because they're loyal to Rossy, because other joshi companies deserve the popularity that this company has way more."

While a large portion of the roster is still very young and/or inexperienced, the shows (especially the PPVs) are really good! I'm excited to see what the future holds."

[5.0] "Marigold started with a lot of buzz and the first show was a hit. Unfortunately the shows increasingly fell flat and the quality was often not really good. Marigold has a lot of rookies which is noticeable and they need time. A hanfful of good joshi wrestlers still make the main matches on the PPVs and a few other shows worth watching. Rossy Ogawas booking is sometimes exactly the same as with STARDOM in the early years. He just copies many things like Mask Fiesta. I also hope that something like with Kizuna Tanaka won't happen again. That was irresponsible on the part of Ogawa and Marigold. // Update: Going from 4 to 5. The bigger shows got better and there is some improvement from the rookie wrestler. The most tour shows remain skippable."

[6.0] "[6.7] Dream Star Fighting MARIGOLD at one point was the talk of the professional wrestling world! A new promotion by STARDOM founder, Rossy Ogawa and big stars joining the mix! It had a lot of buzz and it seemed like it was going to be the next big thing and might legit takeover STARDOM as the #1 Joshi Promotion in Japan. Everything was set in stone. May-June '24 were great! Good matches, steady pacing and very linear and clean shows. MARIGOLD had new eyes and it seemed like it was time for the Joshi world to change...Fast forward and it's the end of 2024. MARIGOLD for it's first year was fine. The last three months were nothing to watch. The promotion seemed directionless for a bit and many went back to watching STARDOM. MARIGOLD has seemed to have issues as well into 2025 and seems heading into a direction where nobody really cares to watch because we have STARDOM!"

It was funny because the show was a smaller event, kind of like a House Show almost, and people were confused seeing an Australian with a cowboy hat walk into the building with a nWo shirt on. That made me laugh. One funny Japanese dude even walked past me and gave me a thumbs up and said 'N DOUBLE YOU OH! ' The show was great fun, I really wanted a pic with Rossi because he was sitting near me but I didn't want to bother him. Wish I could see more!"

[9.0] "This is my favorite promotion right now. The wrestling is fast paced, stiff and technical, the storylines are heated (inter-promotional feud Marigold vs. Marvelous especially) and the players are memorable and they all have their own thing going on. There is only one stable in DR which I find a positive because I do not care for stables. There are plenty of rookies that are developing at a nice pace (I love seeing them flop around awkwardly just to get obliterated by the more experienced players) and even a few super rookies to spearhead the promotion's future. There hasn't been a single Marigold show I've haven't enjoyed. Watching Marigold has been the most fun I've had watching wrestling even though I'm a relatively new puro / joshi puro fan, I imagine there's even better stuff out there. Maybe I should try watching Stardom at some point? . One small nitpick I have is that the main event scene is a bit sparse, Hayashishita is the main champ but competition for the red belt is less than fierce, nobody is at her level yet besides maybe Iwatani. It doesn't help that Hayashishita feels a bit unmotivated or is just playing the stoic ace role, which in my opinion only works with plucky up-and-comers and fiery challengers. Still, the main events mostly deliver, the middle of the cards is always stacked with talent and the rookies are exciting. Every single player in the roster seems really hungry and motivated and is evolving with every show, with exceptions few and far between."

[8.0] "Marigold has expectedly become a major force in Joshi wrestling. They have mostly shaken off their initial issues regarding lack of focus on the undercard. They now have a consistent roster with some very promising rookies and stars in the making, and their big shows are almost assured to deliver. They also have very good production values overall. On the downside Rossy Ogawa's booking is sometimes leaning toward a caricature of his usual tropes, with an over-reliance on draws and inconsistent title reigns with some questionable choices for challengers. Some great talents are doing nothing in the undercard (the use of Nao Ishikawa is baffling), other are quite high on the card with not yet the skills to justify it."

[7.0] "Earlier this year, I rated Marigold a 6, because at the time they were having a lot of teething problems, after the attempted astroturf ended up hurting them more than it hurt Stardom. Like I said then, to come bursting on the scene as a major competitor you either need money (the AAA/AEW route) or an en-masse defection (the NOAH route), and Marigold managed neither. But they've settled into basically the mid-major gatekeeper role between the big hitters of Stardom and TJPW and the smaller outfits like Senjo. Going into their second year of operation, the job for Marigold now is to a) figure out their identity, and b) beef up their roster. Do that, and you're golden. That, and make sure Rossy doesn't do silly things and end up the joshi equivalent of Gedo, coasting on past glories. I pointed out Bozilla as a possible hidden gem back in January; I'm glad that I was proven right, but also, it's sad they weren't able to keep a hold on her. My point from January still stands: there's potential, you just need to nurture it properly."

[8.0] "A decent company going into its second year. Talent has developed quite a bit and it feels a bit less "busy" than Stardom has as of late. Extremely promising rookies. I think having Mayu will be a major game changer moving forward, due to the name she's built for herself, the influence she will have on shaping talents in the company, as well as the outside talents she will draw who will be looking to work with her. A very promising future given the company's current size and worth keeping an eye on if only to see the talents grow."

[5.0] "The combination of feeling like a watered-down Stardom instead of creating their own identity, plus the shady business practices between Rossy & WWE, plus the thin roster that had to raid AWG to fill the gaps, make this a mid-tier promotion I just can't get into. The past year has basically just been Utami and Sareee with nobody else at their level. They finally got Mayu, but considering two out of the Three Daughters of Stardom are already in WWE, how long will that even last? You can say "give it time", but time is just going to thin them out even more: Their 1st big PPV was headlined by Iyo Sky who's already in WWE, and Giulia who was already on her way there, and their 2nd was headlined by their only two big names against each other. I understand why people are loyal to Nanae Takahashi. I don't understand the loyalty to Rossy Ogawa."

[3.0] "We didn't need more joshi promotions. As a result of Rossy Ogawa's sketchy poaching campaign last year, we are ultimately left with a weaker Stardom and a Marigold promotion that has been booked very poorly. Having watched many of their shows over the past year, I can say the majority of events had no purpose. No builds, interesting storylines, etc. I'm not sure why people praise Ogawa so often but he is not a good booker. Marigold's first year shows that he clearly doesn't know how to maximize talent because many bookers have done far more with far less."

"Okay I made an account to fairly comment about Marigold while Marigold is rough around the edges its fairly fun to watch with every show I seen them improving while they don't have anything major story yet they def have some serious future stars among them MIRAI, Seri, Utami, and esp Yuzuki. Unbias they have some spunk so hopefully with Mayu joining they get a bit more polished. They was just plagued with injuries bugs. Also GoChika movement ? AcChika KoChika? ? GoChika"

[6.0] "Marigold is a difficult company to rate because although they are improving little by little, they still have very inexperienced rookies when it comes to in-ring skills. Their ACE, Utami Hayashishita, is young and has a very enviable track record in STARDOM, yet he was not at his best and this is demonstrated in his title defenses. They're not even half as good as Sareee's defenses. Still, we can still get some good matches from the "super rookie" Seri Yamaoka, or the Superfly Champion Victoria Yuzuki, and we are also seeing the last run of Nanae Takahashi, who is considered a legend of wrestling yoshis and I believe she was the first STARDOM champion. While Rossy is trying to make good stories, the fact that he has so many rookies and doesn't have anything to elevate Marigold doesn't appeal as many people as they used to, plus, Marigold's biggest superstars, like Giulia and Sareee, have left. Giulia went to WWE, and Sareee is a freelancer, leaving Utami as the only main eventer left in Marigold, and this means there are no serious opponents for the title beyond Bozilla, who with his build can be dominant.Still, the fights aren't all bad, and we can see rookies like Rea Seto who have improved a lot, so yes, Marigold isn't a company of the present, but of the future."

For some reason people seem to be too hard on Marigold, ignoring the fact that this is a 10-month-old promotion and one of its biggest attractions is rookies. The fact that it has quickly become the second biggest joshi promotion in terms of attendance and number of shows speaks volumes about the work being done. I can assure you that neither Stardom nor TJPW were bigger or better than Marigold when they were 10 months old."
IoIyo wrote on 24.02.2025:
[3.0] "I don't really think there's any sugarcoating it, there's at most 3 credible main event players in the whole company and 1 promising young rookie, attendances keep dwindling and they just pretend it isn't happening. Utami hasn't reached nearly the in ring quality of her peak in Stardom and the quality of the undercard is just awful on most shows."
ImperialUno wrote on 27.01.2025:
[6.0] "Marigold is a new promotion that has potential, it is fine overall but I am not the biggest fan of Rossy's booking lately, he always booked according to his hype he has toward wrestlers and once he finds someone who he has even more interest in, he has the tendency to forget about his former favorite and I am afraid that it will happen to Yuzuki since Hatman is really high on Yamaoka lately, he pushes rookies way too fast and doesn't let time to improve at their pace. The house shows look useless given he doesn't put much efforts to tell a really interesting story, and they are skippable. Another problem with the promotion is the roster, most of the wrestlers lack experience and it lacks more confirmed wrestlers which make the lower card and mid card weak. However, the upper midcard-main event scene is not bad at all, we have some great wrestlers like Utami, MIRAI, Miku, Nanae and they all bring a lot to the company. Overall, the promotion is fine but the booking is far from great imo."

It's much easier to follow and watch than Stardom for me because i've watched every show and i'm familiar with everyone now. Sure the roster is thin and they probably need some new faces. WWE absolutely should send some people for a few months. I think Rossy has done a good job so far. They have everything a new company should have, the top stars (Utami, Sareee), good to very good wrestlers with ace potential (MIRAI, Miku Aono, Kouki) but they also have the future (Yuzuki & Tanaka), and thanks to their partnerships with WWE, they will have Giulia, Iyo and Kairi a few times a year which is huge for them."

Though perhaps I have a problem, because as harsh as that may sound, I genuinely mean it as a compliment. When you remove any controversies in regards to the promotion's founding, it's a really fun watch, and as the years pass I'm sure my rating will go up. They just need to find their footing, and they'll be golden (no pun intended)."

Big names, big matches, big news, and big experiences too. They have everything a wrestling lover could want. And the last ppv is a clear example of what I'm promoting. Simply incredible. See a promising future for this organization and its wrestlers."

I think a lot of people who were fans of the Actwres stars that Rossy yoinked feel quite betrayed including me and it dissuades us from wanting to watch this promotion."

It's hard to say it's been failure for sure but neither is it clear that it's a start of what a legendary promotion would be. The roster is on the tight side and they work a lot of shows in the short period of time, which doesnt seem to align with the lighter workload promise. There is little major storyline build yet and all matches are very typical of an Ogawa booking. There isn't neccesarily anyone im excited to be on the top of a promotion (sorry MIRAI stans). Like this is just stardom with 20% of the roster, AWG girls, and bad gaijins (Bozilla is based though i tell you that much). Sure Stardom isnt being booked too well recently but this is really not mile ahead in any shape or form."
