It went for the traditional early evening audience but most of that audience are just not interested in wrestling and those families that are were already well served by WWE. Lord knows why they have tried to revive it since it got cancelled."

[2.0] "While the pilot episode was pretty decent, the weekly show felt more like 'Gladiators' than a wrestling product, with silly gimmicks like adding a dubbed over roar to Crater, and having a camera mounted directly above the ring looking down. While the talent was good, all the storyline feuds were greatly rushed, with title matches and tournaments happening seemingly every week. The constant camera cuts were annoying, as were the commentary team. I find it unlikely that WOS will be returning to national tv in the UK, especially with the successful AEW In it's place."
[2.0] "Die Produktion hat den "Charme" einer RTL-Show aus den 90ern, die auf heutige HD-Verhältnisse auf poliert wurde. Das fühlt sich schräg an, ist zu grell, zu poppig und die Einspieler, Regie und die Frequenz der Schnitte sind zum Teil absolut anstrengend. Man kann ja nachvollziehen, wie man das Produkt da präsentieren möchte, aber das funktioniert einfach nicht. Obwohl man zehn Folgen am Stück geschrieben hat, gibt es nur eine plausible Entwicklung und das ist der Aufbau vom überhpyten Sysum. Der Rest wird gerusht und völlig überhastet erzählt. Kaum eine Show vergeht ohne Title-Match oder eine besondere Stipulation. Besonders, wenn man die Shows mal am Stück schaut, geht das doch schon deutlich auf die Nerven. Das Roster wird nicht klar strukturiert und die Gaststars nicht sonderlich passend eingesetzt. Wenn man bedenkt, dass dieses Produkt hier, einer der Gründe für NXT UK ist, dann kann man WOS nach Staffel 1 dankbar sein, dass NXT UK gestartet wurde als das es dieses entbehrliche Produkt gibt. Da muss schon etwas passieren, wenn ich die Entwicklung weiterverfolge. So fand ich es interessant und das Staffelfinale war sogar okay, aber bis dahin war es anstrengend, die halbgaren Stories zu verfolgen und sich nicht vom Booking verarscht vorzukommen. Ohne eine andere Handschrift wird das nichts und so ist es nicht einmal ausreichend bisher. Mangelhaft."
[6.0] "WOS presented a improved - if still flawed - TV product in the summer of 2018 and has begun to embark on a tour of the UK's B towns which seems to be working well for them. If they can keep drawing in the B towns WOS could be a welcome addition to the UK scene."
[4.0] "[Wertung nach Staffel 1] WOS verfolgte ich mehr um's gesehen zu haben, als weil es wirklich gut wäre. Hätte ich weniger Zeit gehabt, wäre die Liga sofort auf der Streichliste gewesen. So schaute ich mir das eben meistens am Wochenende an. Teilweise auch mal 2 Ausgaben, weil's mich nicht genug interessierte in der Vorwoche. Leider gibt es sehr viele Kritikpunkte, z. B. die cleane Produktion, die im krassen Gegensatz zu lächerlichen "Büro" von Stu Bennett, der auch einfach völlig über-präsent ist. Kommentator und Offizieller ist vielleicht etwas zuviel, bzw. die Rollen werden zu wenig getrennt. Am Kommentar ist er dennoch bei weitem besser als SoCal Val. Warum man sie für eine fähige Kommentatorin hält ist mir ein Rätsel. Soviel zum Drumherum, kommen wir zum Geschehen im Ring. Da hat man teils viel zu hektisches Storytelling bei dem Fehde in einer Ausgabe begonnen und in der nächsten beendet (Maxted vs Cruz, Robbie X vs. Crater u. A. ) und andererseits auch einfach dumme Fehler wie Ringrichter die die Leiter festhalten (müssen) u. Ä. , Double Hot Tag im Mixed Tag Team Match etc. Generell ist das Booking auch ziemlich 0815. Beispiele hierfür wären A) Bea Priestley, die einfach eine schlechte Wrestlerin ist und sich auch durch ihre Japan-Aufenthalt kaum weiterentwickelt. Dennoch profitiert sie von ihrem Freund Ospreay, was bei JEDEM Auftritt erzählt wird und sehr viele Ligen booken irgendwann dann mal ein Mixed Tag Team Match mit ihr und Will Ospreay, oder ein Match, das wichtig ist, wo er sie begleitet. B) Kay Lee Ray vs. Viper, was auch immer wieder und wieder gebookt wird von diversen Ligen und fast immer dann um den Titel der Liga geht. C) Squashes für das Monster (bei WOS: Crater). //FAZIT// Alles in Allem macht WOS eben nichts, was sie besonders machen würde. Die Matches, die man da sieht gibt es auch "überall" sonst. Daher verstehe ich auch jeden, der sagt "WOS Wrestling? Wozu soll ich mir das ansehen? Insgesamt dennoch ausreichend."
[0.0] "WoS is a complete embarrassment, a total and utter shambles on every level. The production is awful, serving only to detract from a product that needs all the help it can get. The announcing is woeful. The wrestling is decent, but the production and announcing do nothing enhance it. The rebirth of British wrestling was ill-conceived if this is what people think it should be."
[8.0] "Just watched for the first time on ITV having previously assumed that the show would be repeats from the Big Daddy era. Was pleasantly surprised by the calibre of stars on show and the quality of the production. It is great that wrestling is back on free to air TV in the UK and it does seem that WOS will be showcasing some of Britain's best wrestlers. The show had a nice mix of matches, a ladder match, fatal four way (Crater/Cyanide), comedy singles (Grado) and face vs heel (Rampage) tag main event. I will certainly be tuning in again as this show was very entertaining."
[8.0] "WOS is good, but certainly aiming at a particular audience. The matches are good enough quality, not interrupted by ad breaks. There's a bit of something for everyone, with NJPW stars, comedy matches and real athleticism. The commentary works well, with GM Stu Bennett being involved as the heel commentator, it's a really nice dynamic. All in all, it's a good show, and it's nice to see British wrestling showcased to a mainstream audience."
[5.0] "A fairly unexciting pilot show is hard to judge the company by. They should dump the PG setup and embrace what has made the British wrestling scene explode over recent years."
[3.0] "Had a great thing going for them, Wrestling back on UK tv after all these years, and the show what they had was great but numerous false promises, scheduled tapings which got cancelled, sort of ruins the legacy a bit.."
