05.03.2026 | 0xy3buu9w | | AWG may have lost some big players to Marigold but they didn't miss a step. 2024 was a bit rocky for a few months as they got their bearings but 2025 was their best year and 2026 is looking to shape up to do well too.

11.01.2025 | superVeritech | 10.0 | Actwres girl'Z is, by far, my favourite promotion. It doesn't take itself too seriously and yet everyone performs with great earnest. Theatre is as much a part of the shows as the wrestling (which is generally good and sometimes fantastic). There is a separate parallel theatre show, ACT Ring, in which the performers take on completely different personas but even within the Wrestling department, there are several hilarious alter-egos like Act Yasukawa as Wild Bunny, Asako Mia as Great (Muta) Asako, and Rico Fukunaga as Rico (Bruce) Lee. AWG has a long history of developing some of the best talent in Japan but they do struggle to hold on to them. Fortunately, they are consistent in finding new talent so they are pretty much the Ajax Amsterdam of Joshi Pro Wrestling. If you enjoy watching and supporting new talent develop then I highly recommend it. The roster has a good mix of seasoned pros, and actresses/voice actors/idols taking their first steps in wrestling. Don't let the choreographed dance ensembles at the beginning of each show, or even their self-declared withdrawal from pro wrestling trick you into thinking it's not pro-wrestling.. It is, just with a narrative and cultural re-positioning. If they improved their merch and English language support it would help them a lot but they are still very much worth a follow!

It's beyond fun, it's beyond entertaining and I think it's just really awesome. I think the concept of it is neat, and it has my favorite joshi, Act Yasukawa. I wish they had more merch besides shirts though, but it is what it is. |
20.07.2023 | Mugendai | 5.0 | What AWG does, it does well, for some reason it just doesn't click with me. I certainly respect the concept behind the promotion but it feels more like a bootleg Stardom with their unit battles and characters than it does its own thing.
24.04.2023 | Grissom | 7.0 |
19.03.2023 | Hawksrule996 | 7.0 | it is a promotion that shows a lot of promise but still has a long way to go In the ring the top of the card is a little thin with talent but everything else is pretty good I think it can improve a lot in the future

04.07.2022 | darvantono | 9.0 | Few promotions will ever have the impact AWG has had and also be completely ignored by the larger fanbase. Look at the talent that's come through as full roster members, Tae Honma, Saori Anou, Miyuki Takase, SAKI, Nao Kakuta, Himeka, Ami Sohrei, the list just goes on and on. They're everywhere. Since the reboot in 2022, they have continued to create compelling wrestlers, while leaning on surprising established talent like Wild Bunny (Act Yasukawa), Natsumi Sumikawa (Natsumi Showzuki), Miku Aono, and others. It's a joy seeing these new stars figure things out, whether it's Naho Yamada showing up with a bullhorn and flashing headphones, Kouki dancing for the first time, or the absolutely incredible reveal of Marino Saihara as Squirrel Girl. There's just so much fun to be had watching their shows, and while they're all surprisingly fundamentally sound, it's even more fun watching them grow over these last six months. The Action Ring Girl'Z shows are also really cool and unique shows, and still feature some pretty cool wrestling as well.

19.02.2021 | Javichohervas | 8.0 | Great promotion with a cozy aura, nice and funny characters and really good matches, especially from her champion Miyuki Takase, one of the best joshis right now. Also people like Tae Honma, Miku Aono, SAKI, Momo Tani, Kakeru Sekiguchi, Momo Kohgo, Misa Matsui or Hikari Shimizu are amazing performers too, plus the talent they book from other companies like Yunamon, Yuna Manase, Mizuki, or even Sareee last year.
