Showdown: Legends Of Wrestling

[8.0] "I really enjoyed playing this when I was younger, and I thought the amount of legends & arenas was really cool for the time. Especially being able to play as Owen Hart, which is rare. Sometimes was clunky, but overall fun."

[7.0] "I'm giving it a higher rating than it probably deserves because of the roster and arena selection. Since this game isn't licensed by any company, they couldn't use Wrestlemania, Summerslam, Starrcade, etc. It has something better, actual arenas! From MSG to Wembley, to Greensboro, it has a lot of historically significant venues and each one looks unique. That's missing from any modern wrestling game. The controls aren't too bad but the real issue is the bugs and glitches. This game was rushed because Acclaim filed for bankruptcy and was hoping this game would pull them out of it. If it had the proper amount of time I think it would've been profitable. It looks a lot better than the Smackdown games and has commentary from Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan."

[8.0] "This is a good game based solely on the nostalgia factor. It was at the time the only way you were going to relive some of these feuds, and have some of those dream matches."

[5.0] "It was unpolished and glitchy but it was much better than the previous two and waaaaay better than the Attitude games. Great roster and 5 on 5. The game is overall a mess but it's able to provide some cool moments."

[9.0] "With no doubt, one of the MOST underrated wrestling game of all time. This game has a very big and epic roster, with each wrestler has FOUR individual outfits. Sting for example has WCW Crow attire, red nWo Wolfpac and two Surfer Sting attires. The same can be said for Hulk Hogan (he has is old school WWF 1980-90's outfit, WCW-nWo Hollywood Outfit, Japan Outfit and modern Hollywood Hulk Hogan from 2002-2003) This game also had real arenas like Madison Square Garden and Pontiac Silverdome etc. Graphics looked awesome, the commentary with Tony Schiavone, Larry Zbyszko & (unfortunately sick) Bobby Heenan are epic and gives WCW feeling. It is such big and gorgeous with so much details. I high recommond this game (also still in 2021) if you love to play with old legends. It is also the last game with Owen Hart in it. Only the controls could be better. If the controls were like in SmackDown games, it would be EASILY a 10 out of 10!"

[7.0] "I wish i had this game. It looked so cool. More expanded roster. The graphics got better. The story mode is a bit weird."

[7.0] "This would have been an all-time classic if it weren't for the fact Acclaim rushed this out as they were going out of business. Had they not, this had potential. The roster was the best I've seen in any video game (until WWE 2K14) and the inclusion of real arenas really added to it. Ah, what could have been..."

[4.0] "This game's only good point is the roster. It's full of bugs, the AI is disappointing, the commentary is repetitive and you finish the story in few hours."

[5.0] "It's not a horrible game per se. It is, however extremely repetitive and the move sets are not really unique. It also is a game where you needed to do some button mashing in order to win. Average at best."

[4.0] "This game is terrible compared to the other wrestling games that have came before or since. But it does have one thing going for it , and that is an incredible legendary roster."

[8.0] "Despite some glaring bugs, some of which are so bad if struck by one you may have to quit the match entirely, the game is really awesome and still stands up today. In fact I would even say it is my favourite wrestling game of all. The matches are paced just right with finishers an actual challenge to build up. I also really love the attention to detail. It has a large roster, the best roster of any wrestling game and every wrestler has 4 costumes to choose from. Their theme song will even match the costume selected. It even uses the legendary commentary team of Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan, and Larry Zbyszko for good measure."
