[4.0] "The game was okay when I got it as a kid. Its roster is pretty good, but there isn't much to do in this game. The wrestling feels clunky compared to the SVR and Day of Reckoning games around the same era, so I wouldn't recommend this title when those alternatives exist. It's not a terrible game, yet the only notable thing about it is the selection of legends that you can play as (including some like Tony Atlas and Tito Santana, who you wouldn't see in other games around this era). Since you can easily remake those wrestlers in modern WWE games, I don't see why you would return to a barebones game like this one."

[6.0] "This game was good back in 2001. This was exactly what I wanted back in day. A game what focused on wrestling legends. And this game translated this perfectly on the PlayStation 2. Only the controls & animations were awful. But the sequels made this very better. (Especially Legends of Wrestling III aka. Showdown: Legends of Wrestling)"

[4.0] "It was an okay game but Legends of Wrestling 2 was better. The selections are limited for matches and arenas types. The career story line was mediocre. What I liked about this game better than the 2 one was the 3 way or 4 way dance in which it was elimination until last man standing. The graphics were realistic for its time."

[6.0] "Not a perfect game but was fun. The reversal system was nice and the roster was a nice start to the series. As an old school fan, got to re-enact matches I never thought I would before. The graphics were way too cartoony and the moveset was inappropriate for a lot of the wrestlers. Overall a decent time."
