[9.0] "Very high marks for this game cause they vastly improved upon the badly outdated roster of the previous edition. SVR 2006 has a VERY lengthy career mode and I'm a sucker for that. Loads of customization as well as far as CAWs, and there's endless mini games and unlockables, real unlockables, not behind on paywall garbage like present day games. The only thing I've felt that kept this game from being a 10, is that at that time, the roster really wasn't that good. You had stars, but the undercard left a lot to be desired. Overall though, 9/10 is a perfect rating, and if I still was in gaming mode, I'd dust off my PS2 and find a way to play it."

[8.0] "A solid entry in the SmackDown vs RAW franchise. The highlight of the game for me was the Season Mode, specially the SmackDown storyline with finding out who attacked Teddy Long. The soundtrack is solid, even if it isn't the best soundtrack of all the games. The GM Mode falls a little flat in my opinion with no storyline writers and feuds beginning randomly and (often) being unwanted or not the desired result. Really varied roster. The legends roster leaves a little more to be desired with absent names like Dusty Rhodes, Jerry The King Lawler, and the other faces of Foley - Dude Love and Cactus Jack"

"I played this game before I even watched wrestling. Smackdown vs raw 2006 introduced me to WWE. The create a wrestler mode on this was way more advanced than many other games on that time had to offer. Spent so much time making my own fictional wrestlers. Too bad I sold my PS2 in a garage sale...... anyway great game! 10/10"

"This game did a lot of things great. The roster, season mode, gm mode, gameplay were all great. I would play this for hours with other people throwing myself off the hell in the cell and other shenanigans. It was an overall fun game but I would say SVR 2007 was better in a few ways."

[6.0] "For me, this is the worst SmackDown vs RAW game on PSP. There is no good tutorial, no 6-Man-Matches, very bad audio and a bad career mode."

[8.0] "With no doubt the best SVR game on PlayStation 2 ever! These were the days. I still remember the brutal hell in a cell matches I had with Andre The Giant and Hogan '80s. xD Good game, One of the all times greats, good roster, good legends, very good soundtrack, easy controls. Just a better time for WWE wrestling (games)."

Whilst not the best WWE game installment, it holds a place in my heart for the fact that it got me into wrestling. I got it on my PS2 and I played it endlessly until 2007 was released. And even then, I found myself choosing 2006 over 2007 when that was in my collection. There's just a charm to it which I can't let go of. It's 2017 and I still play this game every now and again, whether it be on GM Mode, Season Mode, or even trying a few of the challenges on the game's challenge mode."
