[4.0] "During the AWF's short history, its singles title was fought over almost exclusively by Tito Santana and Bob Orton Jr. , with Santana ultimately bookending Orton's title reign with two of his own during the company's short existence. These weren't exactly cutting-edge names for 1996, but they were strong enough veterans that they could put on decent matches for the title within the confines of AWF's rounds system. I do have a certain fondness for this title, both because I quite like the belt design, with its distinctive red-white-and-blue strap, and because I was once allowed to wear the belt - which is still in Santana's possession - on my shoulder myself during a photo op with him."
