It isn't offensive by any means and is off to a fantastic start lineage wise. Will see where it goes but I like it thusfar."

It's too many midcard titles & if they so desperately wanted another one it honestly should've just been a cruserweight title. Happy Andrade is champ but he's bigger than this title"

[3.0] "If the rub with this title is that it is defended on the indies, that promise hasn't come to fruition as it had 3 defenses in RevPro and 1 in CMLL. Maybe with a healthier MyAEW ecosystem, we might see this being more of a thing, but they need to do a title change on the indies to avoid feeling like an exhibition match or like when the world title is defended on a house show, i.e., super low stakes because you know it won't change hands. It is now the 5th most important AEW men's singles title, and probably 7th most important men's title, which is bonkers for a company with 5 hours of TV per week. It feels like it was created just so Ricochet had something to do."

However, until there feels like a legitimate threat to the belt outside of AEW's main roster, this will always just feel like a downgraded TV belt to me. Because so far, every cross-promotion defense of the National Title has felt more like an exhibition match."

I liked Ricochet's reign because of his matches; Jack Perry seemed to be starting a storyline with that "road trip, " and now Mark Davis has it, he certainly deserved to be crowned with something. So, that's all I can really say about a title that feels like nothing more than a mid-card title. And there's no shortage of mid-card talent in AEW, both wrestlers and titles; there are quite a few."

I wish the first two winners claimed it in a match other than a multi-man gimmick match, but now that Dunkzilla has the title it seems to be settling in to the wrestling landscape with him defending on AEW, ROH, Indies (yes, it gets defended on indy shows, people are just too lazy to look up the matches, which is a shame). Looking forward to what's next and who else rises to the occasion to win it. AEW doesn't have a title problem, they have less than another major company and the roster to justify it."

Phil9 wrote on 01.05.2026:
"Remember when this was supposed to be the new title that would be defended in other promotions and continents? It has quickly settled into being yet another mid-card title in AEW with no real point for existing other than to give someone else in the company something shiny. Overall, this is a 1/10 title for me."
