[5.0] "One day in the mid 80's Vince K. McMahon came back home after a hard day running the WWF and turned on his TV set. A rerun of The Beverly Hillbillies was playing and Mr. McMahon became an instant fan. After a couple of episodes the businessman in him started thinking that a pro-wrestling stable based on moonshine-fueled gags would be an instant hit with fans: after all he had never seen anything so funny in his entire life. Who doesn't love Appalachian jokes after all? So the Hillbillies took the WWF undercard by storm with many memorable 3 minutes matches featuring the likes of Cousin Luke and Uncle Elmer taking on such undercard luminaries as Mr. X and Jimmy Jack Funk. Being a redneck myself I cannot go too hard on them, as awful as they were in the ring and as terrible their vignettes were, and that wedding they had gave us some of the best Jesse Ventura lines ever, which is quite an accomplishment by itself."

[6.0] "A fun group that existed mainly for comedic moments or as fodder for top heels. It's hard not to smile watching Uncle Elmer. For what they existed to do, they did a perfectly fine job."
